Reviews for Hotel & Apartments Fürstenhof am Bauhaus
Review 1:Convenient location within walking distance of historic sites (and my friends' apartment). The staff was very friendly and helpful. On the day of my departure I had catch a taxi before breakfast. A thoughtful employee packed a big lunch for me that kept me well-fed during my 24 hours of travel!
Review 2:Rooms are not so well equiped. Internet is working with voucher. Too bad for the price, they could improve that.
Review 3:Old hotel with style, Breakfast, Staff
Review 4:As mentioned before booking, no elevator. We have a stroller but it is OK to put it downstairs. My wife could not sleep well for the first night because the lighting insulator for three narrow windows doesn't work. It was fine for the second night, we were too tired :-)
Review 5:Location is great. Nice staff.
Review 6:Nothing.
Review 7:We really loved this hotel. Very friendly staff, cosy feel, comfortable rooms, great breakfast buffet and really good value for money. Very well situated for central sites and close to public transport. Perfect - would definitely stay here again.
Review 8:The room has a rather small bathroom. It was rather difficult to keep the room cool. With the traffic nearby, opening the windows at night wasn't really a good idea.
Review 9:It's in walking distance from the town. You can park the car nearby at a suitable fare. Very friendly staff and a fantastic breakfast buffet.
Review 10:Welcoming reception, friendly helpfull staf. At walking distance from the center. Very stylish hotel. Room was very clean an confortable. Breakfast buffet offered plenty of choice. Hotel was easy to locate. Recomended!
Review 11:No oven in the kitchen. And be prepared to haul your luggage up several flights of stairs as there is no lift.
Review 12:Hotel is located in a beautiful old building a short walk from the Old Town and very close to the famous park. Take bus #5 or 8 from station. Bus lets you off almost at the door. We had a cute, 2 room apt with a kitchenette. There are drinks in the fridge at very reasonable prices. Breakfast was bountiful.
Review 13:It was all very enjoyable
Review 14:The ladies at the front desk were exceptional! They helped get the luggage to and from the room. Their English was excellent. The breakfast was delicious and happily included eggs!
Review 15:Internet could suddenly stop working and it couldn't be fixed.
Review 16:Perfect location - 5 minutes to the city center. Very cosy, clean rooms, nice breakfast, welcoming staff. Parking next to hotel costs 1,50 euro per 24 hours.
Review 17:Staff was very friendly, breakfast was great. No A/C, so in summer was very stuffy in room. Had trouble with wifi while there. Major roads near property make it very noisy at night with windows open.
Review 18:Very friendly, helpful staff. Key safe available for late arrivals. Excellent, varied breakfast, which was attentively replenished, inc.fruit salad, healthy options. Good location to explore Bauhaus sites. Some free on street parking nearby.
Review 19:no lift!; on top floor, (fourth); dormer windows so not much natural light in rooms; only one pillow per bed - being british prefer two - but in fairness we didn't ask for extra pillows so only ourselves to blame!; furniture in sitting room a bit Spartan; electric lighting in sitting room not bright enough.
Review 20:staff were friendly and efficient; rooms were well-cleaned; good kitchenette facilities; hotel near the main facilities in the town; good range of food for breakfast.
Review 21:Good location, very friendly staff.
Review 22:Clean simple room. Staff waits until I arrived late
Review 23:Rooms under the roof very warm on hot summer days
Review 24:Convenient location, clean room
Review 25:Everything. You have to walk up several flights of stairs to reach your room and then your room isn't even air conditioned
Review 26:Nothing
Review 27:No elavator
Review 28:Friendly staff
Review 29:Did not have a lift
Review 30:Almost everything
Review 31:Traffic noise of main road next to Hotel.
Review 32:The impossibility to make tea or coffee in the hotel's room.
Review 33:Friendly staff there to help you with whatever you need. Cozy, clean rooms with free WiFi. Excellent breakfast!
Review 34:No elevator and we were on the 4th floor
Review 35:Location is close to the main square and convenient to tour Buchenwald.
Review 36:small room only a sheer curtain in bathroom facing the road - a bit transparent! no lift
Review 37:location friendly easy parking clean
Review 38:Just a bit too expensive.
Review 39:Street noise from traffic especially early in the morning
Review 40:Breakfast
Review 41:Just two observations - rather than dislikes. There is no lift & Iwould recommend asking for a room with a cemetery (Friedhof) view as themain street side can be quite busy.
Review 42:Perfect location for visiting Weimar, easily walkable to city centre.Staff very helpful. Breakfast perfectly adequate. Parking (public) easyalongside hotel and max Euro 2.50 daily. Good value for money.
Review 43:Our room was on the fourth floor and with no lift it was a haul getting our bags upstairs. (We did have a long walk from the train station so we were already worn out.)
Review 44:Weimar is very walkable city and the apartment was very close to the beautiful historical cemetery and the park. It was a long walk to the train station but the hotel helped us with cab transportation on the way out of town. Breakfast selections were plentiful and delicious. Our room was perfectly clean and had a nice view over looking the city. We slept four adults in the one bedroom apartment with two adults on the pull out couch in the living area. The pull out was comfortable . . . as pull out couches go and we still had room to sit around the dining table.
Review 45:We arrived late,so we had to let this know in front, as the reception is only open until 20:00, we got our keys from mailbox at the hotel door, which was locked with a digital code we got via email - which was cool, and no problem. But we didn't get the WiFi user/passwort, and as there was no reception, it was not possible to get it. This was the only problem.
Review 46:the breakfast was very good, there was a nice variety of cheese, salami, a fruit salad, vegetables, eggs, cereals, juices, coffe, tea... The location is very good, 5-10min into the center by foot. Parking was possible in the street, and cost 2.5euro/day, nights are free.
Review 47:Although the room was beautifully clean, it was a bit small. The weather was quite warm (mid to high 20s) and without a/c the room became uncomfortably warm. Nevertheless, I would recommend the hotel to other travellers.
Review 48:The staff were really pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was very good and the location of the hotel was excellent - only 5 minutes walk to the centre of the town. Weimar is a beautiful, historic town and the presence of music students is obvious from the sounds of singing and music heard as you walk around; it has a wonderful artistic ambiance.
Review 49:The included breakfast was serviceable. The staff couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. The room faced the park but was still incredibly loud w car traffic noise. No a/c. Pullman or very basic type hotel.
Review 50:Our room was on a busy street so the traffic noise made it difficult to sleep with the window open. I think this may be temporary as there is road construction one street over causing this extra traffic.
Review 51:The room and bathroom were very spacious, clean, and comfortable. The reception was friendly and we were very happy with the free breakfast. We got very lucky and found parking right outside the front of the hotel. It is free after 6pm, and only 2.50 Euros for the day.
Review 52:The time for serving breakfast was a little late (7:30) that was not suitable for me. The variety of foods in the breakfast was not too much, especially there were not hot meals. The room was a little bit noisy.
Review 53:The staff were friendly and helpful. The price was good and the room was totally clean and comfortable.
Review 54:The hotel faces a busy street, so if you are a light sleeper and would like to open the window in warm season, it might be a problem.
Review 55:Quite decent hotel for moderate price. Very comfortable bed! Free parking, hospitable staff, good breakfast.
Review 56:No lift. I found lots of 3 star hotels don't have lift.
Review 57:The location is good, maybe because city is small. The staff was very nice and polite, she waited until 21:00 for me to check in when I was late. The breakfast was better than any other 3 star hotels I lived. There is parking place and the hotel permits me to park for free.
Review 58:Hotel is located on a busy corner and junction so was noisy. Had to sleep with the windows closed.
Review 59:Excellent location within easy walking distance of the centre of Weimar. The room was comfortable with good wi-fi connection. Very bright breakfast room with a reasonable selection of food.
Review 60:The building is 19th century and does not have a lift, so if you haveproblems with stairs either be sure to stay on the first floor (thereare stairs but not many) or find another hotel. The location, about 100metres from the Bauhaus and 150 metres from the Liszt house/museum wouldbe difficult to improve on. There is parking directly in front of thehotel. Across from the hotel is one of Weimar's many parks. Walking intothe center of town is quick and direct, taking 5 or 10 minutes at most(there is plenty to distract one along the way). LIke most German hotels(only slightly more so) the breakfast is first-rate, with a broad choiceand obvious effort a quality. The staff I met all spoke excellentEnglish (I don't speak German), were friendly, cheerful, helpful withsuggestions of where to eat, what to see, etc.) and seemed genuinelyconcerned that I enjoy my stay both in the hotel and in Weimar. Veryimpressive. I will stay there again -- and bring my family.
Review 61:It doesn't have a lift. I still managed to carry my 20kg suitcase to the first floor, but this may be a problem for some. In fairness I must add that the staff offered to help me carry the suitcase.
Review 62:The breakfast is great. In particular, I liked the fruit salad and nut mixture offered. I also liked the fact that drinks were made available at a mini-bar in the passage on a honesty basis.
Review 63:The hotel is very clean, very close to the center and the staff has beenvery polite and helpful. It has been a surpise for us to find such a''zen'' place. The only so-called negative point is the absence ofelevator but it didn't bother us so much.
Review 64:A toaster would be nice at breakfast.
Review 65:Good breakfast. Staff very willing to please. They even accommodated my dietary needs.
Review 66:Outstanding helpfulness from the staff
Review 67:four flights up, no lift
Review 68:location near the "altstadt" excellent breakfast clean, comfortable, spacious apartment
Review 69:Good free breakfast, friendly service, free WiFi
Review 70:With an open window it gest very noisy, so it is either sauna or noise.
Review 71:Breakfast.
Review 72:Loud street towards our site of rooms.
Review 73:Very friendly staff, godo location close to old city's center, excellent breakfast
Review 74:Wifi not working very well
Review 75:Everything: very clean, very good location (walking distance) near thecity centre, nice personel, good breakfast
Review 76:it does not have an elevator
Review 77:very, very clean. near the city, near the university where we were. overall opinion is excellent.
Review 78:Closed at 9 pm, you could enter yourself with a key
Review 79:Close to Bauhaus University
Review 80:A small, friendly, very clean, and comfortable hotel.
Review 81:Nice atmosphere, easily accessible by car, close to the beautiful, UNESCO listed city centre.
Review 82:Perfect service and equipment
Review 83:Our apartment was on the third floor. A lift would have been useful
Review 84:Excellent buffet breakfast
Review 85:Slightly noisy from the street below. Not a big problem, but it was commented upon.
Review 86:Location and price are excellent. Real value for money.
