Reviews for Apartmenthaus Saxonia
Review 1:We spent three nights at the property with our two dogs and we love it. The owner was always very kind and solicitous. The apartment was perfect for us. We intend to go back!
Review 2:two single mattresses pushed together, two very small duvets, no hand soap, no tea in the kitchen, just one roll toilet paper- expensive given it's not a hotel, no card payments - it was unclear to us how to pay at first but the employee came and collected the money
Review 3:the hallway and the building was nice and so was the man working there
Review 4:The bedroom is too small. A few places for clothes. Just one wardrobe.
Review 5:Nice place. Comfort apartment. Nice kitchen with enough cooking equipments. Perfect spa/swiming pool in the town.
Review 6:Kitchen is far from fully equipped; contrary to what's advertised in the hotel description. We only had a fridge, a toaster and a kettle. They have no reception which should be mentioned in the description. We were not given the key code in advance so we had to call when we got there to get the code, but phone reception is awful in the area. The gardener had to call for us. Shower was overflowing, we had to find a plunger and fix the problem ourselves. The terrace is accessed via the bathroom and is surrounded by communal bathrooms windows.
Review 7:our apartment was tiny, we did not know how small the living space was. there were no facilities to cook
Review 8:very convenient location, nice decor, well kept and clean, great coffee machine
Review 9:The "mini suit" should be called a "micro suit". It has a loft bed with a narrow metal winding staircase leading upstairs. Hardly any room to move around. I guess, it is not a problem if you are staying there for a day or two and only come back to sleep, as in our case. Also, anybody of a bigger statue would have a real problem. There was no accurate description of that "suite" on Booking.com
Review 10:good location. Clean room. Excellent coffee.
Review 11:- Very convenient house location. - The apartment stylish design and equipment - everything is thought carefully over the comfortable and pleasant rest in any season of the year (e.g. heating lamp outdoors, which delighted us,because we could enjoy an early coffee and late sitting among the blossoming flowers near our kitchen, though it was +13 C outside during our stay). - Friendly host, who adviced us thoroughly about the possible routes and everything around. A detailed folder in the apartment also describes you various rest possibilities. - Gratuitous apples every day. :) - Fairly low price for such stay conditions. - An amazing nature of Saxony Switzerland.
Review 12:A fairly long walk from the station if arriving by train, a ferry from station in to town is possible depending on time of day.
Review 13:Lovely, well equipped and beautifully restored apartment. We loved the position, not too far out of town, opposite a park and close to the tram running up into the national park. Our host was friendly and helpful.
Review 14:The term "Junior Suite" is seriously misleading! The other apartments may well be spacious and attractive, but the Junior Suite is unfortunately a triumph of design over practicality. No sofa (as advertised), and description should make it clear that there are no cooking facilities.
Review 15:Well appointed, but read on....
Review 16:Owner not on site. Have to phone for entry instructions (after long day travelling). Only accepts cash, so we had to leave this in drop box with key when we left as we never saw anyone. You need to strip own beds & take out rubbish to bins down the street. If you are ok with eccentric arrangements, it's a classy place to stay
Review 17:Beautifully decorated & furnished apartment in nice building on edge of town. Fantastic value.
Review 18:The owner was not there when we arrived - had to phone him using my Australian phone. He would not take credit card - we had to leave payment in the letter box. The bathroom was amazing but you had to shower with s hand held shower whilst sitting in the bath.
Review 19:The apartment was quite luxurious, with a bathroom with huge bath. Well appointed kitchen. Location very good - only 5 minute walk to centre of village.
Review 20:It may sound petty , but we didn't like the bed linen or the fabric conditioner that was used !---- a personal thing
Review 21:Apartment good. Kitchen facilities excellent. Near tram and a short walk from town . Easy to get to from Bad Schandau station . The ferry runs across every half hour. Great cycle paths along the river Elbe. Bikes can be rented at the tourist office in the square. There are many coffee shops and restaurants within a five minute walk. We bought maps of the area in a local shop. It would have been good if there had been some maps on the apartment for the guests as I have had this experience in other places.
Review 22:It should be clear that the "junior suite" is not one of the apartments featured on the website. It is a tiny space with 2 chairs, refrigerator, coffee maker, a bathroom and a loft bed. The private terrace was unfortunately too damp and buggy to sit in, and the Wifi signal was sporadic within the suite.
Review 23:The owner Alex is very friendly and the suite was beautifully decorated. The coffee was delicious and free of charge. Everything we could want was provided, from wine opener to tea pot to dishware. Cozy and lovely and right next to the Kirnitzschtalbahn. There is a sunny communal terrace with wifi.
Review 24:The kitchen lacked a microwave--not sure if that's typical in Germany, but we missed it.
Review 25:Modern, efficient apartment and amenities Access to public transit Walking distance to the town Property owner accessible and very helpful
Review 26:--
Review 27:Location - great window view to a little river and mountains, just behind the historical tram stop and 5-minut walk to the city center. Kitchen facilities and room service - especially if you going to be with a baby. Comfort at all aspects!! The owner speaks Russian and English!
Review 28:Make sure you have a phone or have organised to meet the owner to pickup the keys or to get the pin for the key box prior to arriving as the owner lives next door but may not be home (there is no "reception") Wifi is intermittent (may have just been our room) but not a major issue. Be prepared that the kitchen facilities are only for breakfast (toaster coffee and a mini fridge).
Review 29:Really helpful owner and good quality bicycles to hire to explore the beautiful countryside. Cute clean compact apartment with a mini coffee machine! We had a small room but it's perfect for a night or two, the bed in the loft is unique! Easy walking distance to everything in town.
Review 30:some basic food items would be great, or breakfast possibility - arriving saturday afternoon there was almost nothing open and also on sunday was very hard to buy groceries!
Review 31:fantastic appartment, spacious, quiet, beautiful. the area is amazing, and lots of good tips from the host.
Review 32:Make sure you either have a way of calling the proprietor when you arrive or get the code for the key box via email. Being from Canada I had never stayed in an short term rental apartment before. I had no idea that there is a key box that requires a code for you to receive your key. I wasted a lot of time that day tring to figure it out...
Review 33:Nice location, nice little town, close to the trail head to head into the mountains. Lots of free street parking.
Review 34:Nothing really. A soup ladle in the kitchen would have been handy & more cotton based bed linen would have made the stay perfect but these are minor matters.
Review 35:Apartment was stylish & well equipped. Very handy for the National Park. The covered balcony gave access to outdoors & though opposite the bar, there was no noise. All round, very good value.
Review 36:Top floor - heavy suitcases and no lift
Review 37:Friendly owner who was very helpful. Ideal location Immaculately clean Modern bathrooms & kitchen Decent size for a family of four lovely views
Review 38:Everything great but you need to know that C-M-W-Appartment is located at the 4th floor via a steep staircase (no lift!!) - this specific appartment not recommended for old people or small kids
Review 39:Carl-Maria-von-Weber-Stylish appartment contains 2 bed-rooms with 2 attached baths Spacious, perfectly equipped, balkony, tv, nice kitchen
Review 40:No-one there to greet us when we arrived. All the steps to the apartment.
Review 41:Stylish, spacious comfortable apartment in excellent location. Fabulous shower!
Review 42:We only stayed one night...this is more like an apartment rather than a hotel. It would be better if someone stayed more than one night.
Review 43:This apartment was clean and comfortable and within easy walking distance to beautiful trails.
Review 44:Only minor issues - needs better lighting in lounge (owner did supply a table lamp on request). WiFi intermittent.
Review 45:Good location in Bad Schandau. Balcony overlooking tram terminus. Generally nice fittings, good shower, kitchen etc. We had off street parking and indoor space to keep bikes.
Review 46:No hairdryer There are some spider thread on the toilet paper, so I don't think this apartment is clean at all. There were several spiders climbing around... If you are not German, you d better contact the owner, thought he didn't inform it on the booking.com. But when I arrived, there was no reception, I thought there was because on the booking.com, there is no information about I need to contact the owner before I arrive. So when I arrived, I had to call the owner, it was difficult because I didn't have a German. It's very expensive for me!!!
Review 47:Big room
Review 48:Great owner, excellent location and perfect coffee in the room!
Review 49:Spacious apartment, very friendly host.
Review 50:Great apartment and host.
Review 51:A lovely apartment with great facilities, close to the tram that takes you to the waterfall and an easy stroll into the town
Review 52:Bed linings smell awfuly of a cheap washing powder.
Review 53:Nice and clean, very well equiped, good location (10 minutes walk to thermes), pet friendly.
Review 54:In our situation better two beds and shower not glass. But apartment is okay, very nice and convinient.
Review 55:Just too tiny Difficulty with stairway to bed
Review 56:Location Heritage building Cleanliness Unique decor
Review 57:Very clean, comfortable, and homey.
Review 58:Very helpful and kind staff. The flat is well furnished with taste and style in a beautiful renewed building.
Review 59:everything in the apartment is beautifully and tastefully
Review 60:slow heating, in bedroom
Review 61:furniture, enviroment, relaxing area, high seelings, Modern bathrooms, stairs
Review 62:Good location Classic furniture Helpful owner Heating, hot water all function well Decent kitchen facilities Shower room well appointed
Review 63:Slightly awkward single bed arrangement but no other way of doing it given bedroom configuration. Mattress too soft.
Review 64:Excellent facility. Very nicely furnished. Very friendly and helpful owner. Clean and tidy.
Review 65:It wasn't a problem to us but there were 3 sets of stair to our apartment. Although there was satalitte tv there was not many channels available. The 'oven' is a combination type microwave which we couldn't really get to work as an oven.
Review 66:Overall we were very happy with this apartment and our stay in Bad Schandau. The apartment owner was very friendly & helpful, the apartment itself was very clean and well appointed. We had the 2 bedroom apartment and it was very spacious and tastefully decorated. Being winter we didn't use the balcony but the outside areas looked nice with good view from balcony. The lounge was not open as it was out if season. The location is very central just across from the historic tram stop. Note that you have to pay in cash.
Review 67:Junior Suite due to its composition was less comfortable then we expected. I recommend to choose bigger apartment, as it's definitely worth to pay a difference, which is small comparing to difference between apartments
Review 68:Good location close to the center, really interesting interior, helpful owner, high-end coffee machine in the room
Review 69:Realise it was not a hotel, but maybe a good idea for the rooms to be serviced once every two days in case towels needed changing and toilet rolls need replacing. Felt like the apartment needed a good clean as had dusty floors and cobwebs.
Review 70:The apartments were individually styled with either a balcony or patio, and had all the facilities required, including a fitted kitchen and heating. The owner was very friendly.
Review 71:Wifi intermittent; satellite TV patchy. Many steep steps to apartment so bringing luggage up was difficult; limited parking.
Review 72:Comfortable apartment well-situated for town centre and tram stop. Cool in the heat of the day. Quiet location.
Review 73:The accommodation was spacious, well set out and very well maintained. We enjoyed our stay very much. the staff were friendly and spoke good English. The area is very beautiful and a hikers dream.
Review 74:There is no on-site reception; one has to call in order to get the keys. This was not explained on booking.com and when we arrived, we did nothave a phone to call with. I managed to find a weak internet signal andused skype to call but no one answered. This meant we had to findanother place to stay up the road and it was already evening. The nextday as we were leaving town, we stopped in and the manager happened tobe there. We decided to stay and I'm glad we did, but at first heexpected us to pay for 2 nights when we were only staying one andinsisted that it cost him because he was unable to rent the room. Iexplained that we already paid another hotel for that night and that heleft us no way to get in touch with him. It wasn't until I showedhim the 'recent calls" in my skype account that he agreed toadjust the reservation to one night. I'm glad he did - it's awonderful place. Our room had a bug issue, but we didn't care. Isuppose if we were staying a week it would be an issue.
Review 75:We really enjoyed our stay at Saxonia - our apartment was lovely, beautifully appointed. We could tell a lot of thought and care went intoits design. I wish we had more time to spend there.
Review 76:Cannot fault the apartment in any way. Only adverse comment that may be a problem for some would be noise from the tram which runs in front of the house. About 4 times an hour.
Review 77:Beautifully appointed apartment in an old, stylish building, full of character and charm yet with all the modern facilities. Very friendly and helpful owner who spoke perfect English
Review 78:We didn't expect to pay in cash. There was nothing about it in the hotel policy while booking
Review 79:It's a greatl place, newly renovated, clean and comfortable. Nice location, wonderful view. Excellent!
Review 80:If you don't know Germany, better get a good map to find thelocation after get off the ferry
Review 81:Beautiful, with lots of characters like castle, but inside is verymodern facilities.

Review 83:The noise of the street and the tram
Review 84:The atmospher
Review 85:Everything
Review 86:The attention.
