Reviews for DJH Jugendherberge Mannheim International

Review 1:If you're 10 mins late for breakfast you don't get any. It's only from 7 to 9. Internet is limited (30mins) and it's very slow. I had to wait for the check out because there wasn't anyone on the desk. Way to expensive!!

Review 2:For a JH it should be cheaper. The internet is bad and expensive

Review 3:Cheapest u can get in mannheim. You have the chance to meet new people. excellent location

Review 4:Breakfast was free so can't complain too much but would have been nice to have more of a selection.

Review 5:Good location only a short walk into town, kept nice and clean and the rooms were a very good size. Staff did what they could to help but were a little bit off with us at first, but this could just be because we were a group of English guys, otherwise very friendly

Review 6:I've stayed in more than 20 Youth Hostels. This one is one of the best Youth Hostel I've ever stayed. Large Dorm and wonderful breakfast. Design in the room is also very kind and nice.

Review 7:A lot of additional extras that made it quite expensive and I didn't enjoy paying a high price for the wifi

Review 8:Hostel was really good and the staff were so kind and helpful. Very clean and a large selection for breakfast. Perfect location

Review 9:It was quite expensive for a hostel, all the additional costs that were added one once I arrived brought the price up a considerable amount. Even though the Wifi signal was good, I didn't enjoy having to pay a high price for using it

Review 10:The hostel was so clean and the room had its own private bathroom and shower area which was amazing! A very very nice hostel :) plus the staff were very helpful!

Review 11:The weather is extremely hot in Mannheim of Germany. However, there is no air conditioning! In addition, when I open windows, many bugs entered in the room!!!!!!!

Review 12:Bit of a hike from train station and downtown (but not too bad). WIFI did not work from the rooms, but was ok from the lobby.

Review 13:Very clean, spacious lockers, good private bathroom facilities. Close to the river and a nice park. Breakfast reasonable.

Review 14:drinking water in room was not good, Reception staff was rood, Should increase check out time from 10 am to 12 pm

Review 15:Location is very good, cleanliness, Breakfast.

Review 16:Should have free WiFi Waited 20min to be seen at reception Sterile atmosphere no comfortable communal areas

Review 17:Great location Well signposted Good breakfast

Review 18:Location and price . The hostile should be worth not more than 25 eur including breakfast a night .

Review 19:Late arrival was possible and flexible with payment options.

Review 20:1) WiFi is very slow. 2) I wish the room was cleaned every day 3) Deposit of 20 Euro was not good for foreigners because we get back the money on the last day and we need to convert the money again to our currency. So, we do double conversion which is a loss.

Review 21:1) Breakfast is excellent, wunderbar 2) Staff is accommodating, polite, helpful

Review 22:too high price for offered facilities no wifi in the rooms (only at the lobby) paid wifi (I assume in 21-st century in EU it should be free or at least included to the price - paying 2e/h or 5e/day is ridiculous imho) check out at 10 am you have to fix blanket case, pillow case and bed sheet yourself (provided by the place) and return them back upon check out ventilation in the rooms is poor (have to open window for proper ventilation otherwise sweating and too warm) no towels provided

Review 23:friendly reception clean place good location (nice and quiet) - 8 min by walk from the main station can recommend for a short stay if you don have to spent much time at the place but only sleep and go breakfast is included

Review 24:- expensive internet access- a no-go for a youth hostel (in my opinion) - very different staff at the reception, non-existent during the night (security anywhere?), incredible noise from other guests until 5:30 and nobody cares ...

Review 25:No free WiFi.

Review 26:Well, it is youth hostel. I stayed 4 men dormitory room. Some of the were noisy and I could not sleep well. But the breakfast was so gorgeous! It made me feel better, and the impression of the hostel was retrieved by that.

Review 27:Nothing provided in the room. Every single thing is subject to an additional payment, even the towels!

Review 28:Location is good as it is close the main train station. Friendly staff.

Review 29:Beware if you don't have the HI membership card, they will charge €3.5 extra, and if you're age 27+, the price is higher then that shown in booking.com. These rules were neither shown in booking.com nor in the confirmation email, turn out I need to pay €7 more than what "confirmed" by booking.com

Review 30:Good location just 5 mins walk from HBF.

Review 31:Internet is only free for first 30min

Review 32:Clean rooms, quiet surroundings, friendly roommates, hospitable and helpfull staff

Review 33:Big lockers inside rooms, all clean and shining, enough electricity outlets in rooms.

Review 34:The atmosphere and the wonderful assistance from the reception clerk who helped me immensely.

Review 35:no wifi in room

Review 36:Internet wasn't working and there is no common kitchen. Breakfast time could be better by extending it till 10 a.m.

Review 37:Location

Review 38:No free wifi.

Review 39:WiFi in room

Review 40:Place is awesome.. Overlooking bfast with river Rhine was just amazing.

Review 41:wifi only have an hour in the hall

Review 42:insects everywhere, even on the beds

Review 43:hidden fees coming from out of nowhere! Free WiFi limited to just 30min. every 8 hours!

Review 44:i have one bed in a twin room. everthing is exellent. Toilet is very large, clean and extremely comfortable.

Review 45:Clean, comfortable hostel with friendly staff, a short walk from the Hauptbahnhof and the middle of Mannheim.

Review 46:Free WIFI should be there for some time at-least in a day.

Review 47:Reception area and Breakfast.

Review 48:extremely expensive internet (wi-fi)

Review 49:very clean, excellent location, beautiful surroundings, friendly staff, tasty breakfast!

Review 50:Wi-fi was not included in the price. It was kinda hard to find from train station.

Review 51:Very friendly staff. Beautiful location with a nice park nearby. Close to the river.

Review 52:- It's a bit pricey for a youth hostel, partly due to the location but also because hotels / guest houses are v. expensive in Germany so they know they can get away with it. - No free wi-fi - do they really expect people to pay 15€ for a 3-day pass??! But generally free wi-fi is not available in Germany.... - Breakfast finishes at 9 a.m. - Take ear plugs or you won't be able to sleep - Lack of privacy

Review 53:The location is great, right on the river. Modern, clean. I suppose it's more like a hotel except you sleep 4 to a room. There is a large foyer where you can watch TV and have a drink.

Review 54:Actual rate was higher than shown on booking.com website. Several additional charges eg. memebership fee and internet, so final cost ends up being comparable to a relatively cheap hotel. Would have been nicer to have some hot items for breakfast.

Review 55:The place was clean and well-maintained. Staff were nice and helpful. Breakfast was tasty.

Review 56:Internet price breakfast is bad..very few items almost 30 euros per daywith 3 other people sharing very very expensive normal hotels 40 eurosyou will get private room with single bed...

Review 57:Location staff

Review 58:A LOT of hidden costs and extra charges - first they charge for the member card which is required for some reason, then there is a safety deposit, the towel, WiFi access, even for check out at normal time you have to pay extra, otherwise the checkout should be done before 10 am. Breakfast is very poor, but the overall price is very affordable so you get what you have paid for. It was very noisy inside and outside due to construction works, but I guess this is not the case anymore.

Review 59:Great location - close to main railway station and to the city centre and shopping (just go over the bridge). The room is clean, cupboards are safe to keep the luggage.

Review 60:there is no shampoo or soap so you have to get your own.

Review 61:This place is very clean, has great friendly staff and I guess I was lucky but the people that I shared the room with were fun and nice

Review 62:Wifi acces is not for free. 1 hour = 3EU 24 hour= 5EU You have to pay for a special code, it is only usefull for one device. Finally, I had to pay twice for both my mobile phone and i-pad.

Review 63:I travelled to Mannheim to make an English proficiency test at the University of Mannheim. I booked a shared female room, so I was a bit afraid for noisy backpacking tourists at night. Fortunately it was very quite and I slept very well. The room was very clean and the staff was very friendly.

Review 64:The parking was open, and the hostel is under construction. Besides that, everything was excellent.

Review 65:The bar was excellent, the room was comfortable, clean, and well distributed. The breakfast was fresh and nice.

Review 66:Quite far from central train station. Cannot access wifi in room, only in hostel lobby and have to pay.

Review 67:Clean rooms and toilets. Free breakfast. Beautiful river just behind the hostel

Review 68:No in-line telephone for some necessarily quick contact and if possible you should inform who will come.

Review 69:Clean, comfortable, near main railway station, good breakfast

Review 70:For the cost of staying I was expecting something much better for the breakfast. There was no fruit of any kind, no hard-boiled eggs or pastries available. I understand that it was not a buffet breakfast, and I did not expect hot dishes, however, at the very minimum some fruit and boiled eggs would have been good. Also, the bread selection was not that good and the buns were not the freshest.

Review 71:The room was very spacious, clean and well laid out. We had the family room with one set of bunk beds and two twin beds. The beds were quite comfortable and the lockers and washroom facilities were great.

Review 72:In my case, wifi didn't work. It costs 2 euros per hour, so it's not confortable for heavy internet users. (They agreed to cancellation and payed me back though) Besides, if you can't read German, you may have difficulty reaching the hostel. Although it's in less than 5 minutes walk from the station, if you cannot find the tunnel, it's quite hard to reach there. By the way, Breakfast will end at 8h 30, which is remarkably early. Please wake up early, otherwise you may even miss the checkout (by 10h00)

Review 73:Good hostel. It costed 25 euros with good morning buffet. Capable staffs at the reception and clean room fascinated me. located in calm and peacefull neighborhood, less than 5minutes on foot to central station. They had good lockers, clean shower facilities etc. The room was a little cold, but they offered additional branket quickly

Review 74:Quite good for a youth hostal.

Review 75:the location and the staff are very friendly......

Review 76:Housekeeping stole €120,- from my bag in a private room. Hostel refused any comment and didn't investigate anything. Beware of your bags!

Review 77:no free wifi, and the breakfast time ends a bit early

Review 78:very comfy

Review 79:clean, good location, free parking area, nice breakfast, good price for the service!

Review 80:Place was really clean.

Review 81:Staff not terribly helpful, no wifi included in the price and it is not exactly a cheap hostel.

Review 82:Clean, well-looked after facility.

Review 83:under construction

Review 84:friendly personnel clean

Review 85:Bugs everywhere. Thousands of bugs everywhere. No wifi. They're liers.

Review 86:The river flooding the hostel, but that is not exactly their fault

Review 87:Was there for a short trip but felt included.

Review 88:No free WiFi

Review 89:Location/value for money
