Reviews for Hotel Kaiserin Augusta
Review 1:Not one thing to complain of at this hotel.
Review 2:I can't say enough positive things about this hotel. This place was fabulous. Location, staff, food--all was excellent. Thanks for a great stay!
Review 3:Bad wasn't that comfortable. Thin duvet. Hot water occasionally temperamental. Shower soap dispenser not checked or refilled.
Review 4:Convenient location just across from Hauptbahnhof. Good free wifi. Pleasant staff. Good food at good value in restaurant.
Review 5:Very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast spread. Very good meals available, relatively modestly priced. Pleasant ambience without being self-important!
Review 6:Liszt House, the churches, old town... Breakfast at Kaiserin Augusta was great!! The hotel is right across the Hbf train station, and it is very quiet.
Review 7:efficient hotel, friendly staff, clean rooms, adequate breakfast, good rate, good location: overall recommended. (I stayed in the newer part, rooms in the older part might be different).
Review 8:Asked for a coffee in the bar on arrival at 10pm and told the coffee machine had been cleaned so no coffee. Requested extra hangers as we were given only 8 for two people. These never came. Food in restaurant was good but the service was appallingly slow. We waited an hour for our meal. This was not the fault of the staff but clearly there were enough of them to cover the bar and the restaurant. We asked for an English menu and were told the only ones had been given to a couple who came in after us. You need good German to use the menu. If you want to spend all night in the restaurant then eat there.
Review 9:Proximity to the station. Cleanliness of all areas. reasonable choice at buffet breakfast. Friendly reception staff who spoke English,
Review 10:On Saturday evening, there was a disco near the hotel. The music was annoying until 5 on the morning. Take ear plugs. Without that I would score the hotel on 9.5.
Review 11:Very nice hotel. Very friendly staff. Big and comfortable room.
Review 12:Location....only minutes walk from train and short walk to town/ city centre. Front desk staff very knowledgeable and helpful. Room well appointed and spacious.
Review 13:Only problem was the noise from the re-routed heavy traffic, probably because of all the street works nearby.
Review 14:Age and history of the hotel, pleasant location within waling distance of the city centre.
Review 15:a little bit more of a smile from the staffs
Review 16:very close to the mail station; just a few steps beautiful hotels, elegantly decorated rooms nice breakfast the Weimar city itself
Review 17:Wifi is unpredictable and so slow.
Review 18:I was here before...Indeed good location. Friendly staff. Acceptable breakfast. The ratio between price and quality is realy nice.
Review 19:No air conditioning, noisy at night due to local train station, uncomfortable bed
Review 20:Very good breakfast selection and convenient location next to the train station
Review 21:Quite a way from the centre, but there is a bus! Restaurant always seemed empty so not very tempting. Would have saved the trek into town fr dinner.
Review 22:Comfortable and quiet, very convenient for the station, very good breakfast. Good value.
Review 23:Buffet breakfast very limited choice of food; Room is too hot in summer. Can't sleep at night. No facilities such as electric fan to help customers.
Review 24:There was nothing to complain about.
Review 25:The hotel was excellent value, the room was large, the hotel had good free internet and was a great location opposite the main station. There was underground parkingmwhich was good as we had a hire car. It cost €10 a night but we felt this was worth it. We were so pleased that we booked in for another night and they gave us a good rate.
Review 26:We had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel. It was in an excellent location right opposite the train station. About 10 to 15 minutes walk into the old town but also the buses run into the town and the hotel supplied free return bus tickets. We had a comfort room which was very spacious and quiet as we were at the back of the hotel. The breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice served in a lovely dining room. Staff were also friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
Review 27:Receptionist did not smile or welcome us!She did not offer a city map or any helpful information-when you are a tourist these things make a big difference.
Review 28:Excellent breakfast
Review 29:The gauntlet of cigarette smokers that I had to pass through to go in and out of the hotel lobby door was the only thing I didn't like. Breakfast at the Hotel restaurant seemed expensive, so we walked across the street to the train station where there is a nice bakery/ sandwich shop with great coffee.
Review 30:Location, price/value and room were all very nice.
Review 31:We ate in the restaurant on our last evening but it was a disaster. I ordered fish fillets and fried potatoes I assumed they were fried fillets but, no, they were actually three rather large fillets of pickled herring - raw fish!! The fried potatoes were indeed fried but with bacon pieces - I do not eat meat of any kind and, therefore, couldn't eat these either. The menu was supposed to be in English but no where in it was there any mention of raw fish or bacon in the fried potatoes. Please be aware of this. My husband had pork chops and sausage the meat was stringy and full of fat not very good quality at all. Apart from this the breakfast was excellent and the staff were exemplary.
Review 32:The location was facing the railway station. The walk into town was downhill and was approx 1 km. Frau Strube (I hope this is correct) was fantastic when helping us to book the opera she was efficient, courteous and so pleasant. Thank you.
Review 33:The first lady staff we met at front desk was not so helpful and polite, we arrived early and room was not yet ready until 3pm. But another staff was very helpful and patient to explain when we returned for room.
Review 34:walk 1 min., just opposite to main train station, sumptuous buffet breakfast, room and bedding was spotlessly clean, walk through Carl-August-Allee to the city centre in 10-15 mins, passing by a big underground shopping mall and supermarkets were there that you may miss on your left.
Review 35:Sellaista ei ollut mistä en olisi pitänyt.
Review 36:I liked everything. Visited the hotel 4th time. I travel by train and like to stay near railway-station. I am a writer and has written books that happenes in Weimar around the 1900. The books are written in Finnisch languagea until now, but wish them to be also translated in German, perhaps in English language. The main person in the books are Marie a in Weimar born female singer and that why I have been in Weimar many times and feel nearly to be at home. In Finnisch be book are Marie - Kukka valkein siivin, Marie - Kolme morsianta ja Marie - Laaksoissa ja vuoriteillä.
Review 37:Nothing but I would have liked the staff to have known who Kaiserin Augusta was!
Review 38:We were delighted by the ambience and the historic character of the hotel combined with modern high standards of service and decor. We imagined a place that would allude to Kaiserin Augusta. It did all of that - and so much more. We loved our stay there and the staff would astonishingly kind and helpful. We hope to return.
Review 39:The first worker in reception wasn't polite and helpful.WiFi was broken. It was noisy because treinstation. Far from city center.
Review 40:Very good breakfast. Interesting design, good reproductions, posters in corridors and room(W.Kandinsky, P.Klee etc.). Very clean, neat.
Review 41:'Comfort' of the comfort room Receptionist could be a little more customer related. Be aware the internet code is only for two devices, if you book a Comfort room the extras are not automatically provided. (Newspaper, Bottle of water, Bus tickets)
Review 42:Breakfast ! Location to Railway Station
Review 43:A bit further than bargained for to get to town centre Breakfast sometimes close to being overwhelmed by large (coach?) parties staying
Review 44:Easy accessibility to main station Good breakfast included in price quoted by Booking.com Roomy shower Magnifying mirror in exactly the right place in bathroom
Review 45:Very clean, pretty quiet. Close to the historical city-center (walking distance), but still easy to find a free parking around it.
Review 46:difficult to communicate in english
Review 47:clean and quiet
Review 48:perfet location, nice breakfast, and impressive room.
Review 49:Noisy street outside, no drinking water in the room
Review 50:Delicious and rich breakfast, very clean
Review 51:Everything was ok. Free public parking at evenings.
Review 52:room was small and stuffy in the summerheat
Review 53:Breakfast top notch, but 11€ is pricy.
Review 54:Very clean and comfortable. Excellent value for a stopover!
Review 55:Breakfast was a bit frenetic as tour coaches stay here as well.
Review 56:The room had everything we needed. Reception staff were welcoming and helpful.
Review 57:No complaints at all.
Review 58:Very convenient to the bahnhof lovely conservatory for breakfast. A bit bust as much used by tour groups.
Review 59:The location
Review 60:A bit far from downtown.
Review 61:Location! Decoration!
Review 62:Very thin walls, you can hear close to everything from adjacent rooms..
Review 63:Location - a nice walk to the oldtown, opposite the railway station.
Review 64:Ihr Hotel hat Stil.
Review 65:nothing
Review 66:close to the train station, 15 walk to the city center, breakfast was delicious, wifi
Review 67:Paid parking.
Review 68:The room was small but clean and comfortable room. The breakfast was good.
Review 69:One of the best laid out single rooms
Review 70:Nice hotel grat kitchen friendly staff good breakfast included in Romm price.
Review 71:Convenience for the city, good service. Helpful for GF food at breakfast
Review 72:Value for Money, we got a really good price. Big room and great breakfast.
Review 73:Some travelers might feel the room furnishings were a bit outdated (e.g. no flat-screen TV) and, as others have noted, the shower stall was a bit small, but hardly disturbingly so (I'm a 180-cm-tall medium-framed man).
Review 74:Excellent location across a pleasant public square from the main Weimar train station. Staff were uniformly pleasant, my room was clean and spacious (the bathroom counter-top space was, for Germany, almost uniquely huge), and the breakfast offerings were top notch.
Review 75:Cannot find fault with this hotel.
Review 76:Great value for money. Conveniently located across the street from the main train station (ideal when arriving late by train). Wide range of delicious food for buffet breakfast. Highly recommend this hotel when visiting Weimar or surrounding area.
Review 77:The room was really essential and quite old. The shower door was the smallest ever seen. I'm not joking when I say that it was quite difficult to enter in the shower
Review 78:The hotel is just outside the train station and this is great. Hotel restaurant is quite nice
Review 79:All rooms are now non-smoking. Over 20% of the German population smoke, but they are not catered for at this hotel especially when it is -4 degrees and snowing
Review 80:This is a very good hotel just across the square from the railway station. I was made welcome from the minute *I arrived to the minute I left. I was very late arriving at the restaurant but the waitress made sure that I was able to eat. The breakfast was probably the best I have had in several years.
Review 81:Free bus tickets included in our room price and location by the station (frequent buses!) meant that travelling round Weimar was a pleasure. Breakfast was good, and a delight to eat in the conservatory area. Staff extremely helpful - sorted out my flight check-in problems with grace! If you arrive by car, most of the near-by streets have free parking, so don't be fooled by the hotel's desire to sell you their own garage.
Review 82:I missed a safe in the room, a little bit tiresome to ask the staff each time I needed something in the safe.
Review 83:Clean, spacious rooms, and excellent beds. The breakfast was very good. Location, just nearby the Hauptbahnhof, but still very quiet.
Review 84:This was my third visit to the Kaiserin Augusta.I like the hotel and it is convenient for me. It takes only a minutes to walk from the railway station across a pleasant square but, despite being so close to the station, the hotel is quiet. The town is an easy 10 minute walk, I believe there is a bus but I have not used it.The hotel staff are very helpful and efficient and everything is clean and tidy. There is an excellent buffet breakfast included in the room price. Cereals, breads, salads, cold meats, hot food and drinks are just some of the variety on offer.
Review 85:An original old hotel with modern rooms. The breakfast restaurant and the restaurant for dinner was also with a pleasent athmosphere. Can recomment this hotel warmly.
Review 86:There was nothing we did not like. It was perfect for our weekend get-away.
Review 87:Nice location within walking distance of the old town. Clean room. Friendly staff. Good breakfast - full pot of coffee for each table. Quiet.
Review 88:A traditional and beautiful hotel. The hotel stands in front of the main station Weimar. The personnels are very friendly. The breakfast is rich. Man can connect Internet wirelessly in the room.
