Reviews for Aguas Arriba Lodge

Review 1:The whole lodge is stunning, with only 5 rooms and the owners who greet you by name, you feel like great friends from the moment you arrive. the walks are fantastic and you are the only people on the trails. the cosy log fire and delicious meals...cannot rate this beautoful lodge highly enough

Review 2:The quality of the coffee at breakfast.

Review 3:The location was great, the staff and the owners very nice and helpful. We enjoyed a lot the trekkings with Anna, who is a very good guide and a charming person.

Review 4:From the moment Ivor (owner) came to pick us up in the boat, he told us "this isn't a hotel this is your home". His wife Pato and him truly mean it. 5 room, 37 km from the closest town of 500 people this is truly a wonderful lodge in pure, unspoiled wilderness. The food is fantastic, the service wonderful, all rooms have amazing views. Wine was reasonably priced ($20-45/bottle 2/2015) and excellent. Ana the trekking guide was wonderful and all of the staff were friendly and helpful. Truly a special place, well worth every dollar (or peso)!

Review 5:Pato and Ivor's warm hospitality and the lodge's magnificent setting will make this a visit you will never forget. This is a must go for outdoor enthusiasts that crave creature comforts after their daily explorations. Wonderful!

Review 6:The long way to arrive from El Chaten. 37 kilometers (takes 1 hour and 30 minutes). Unpaved road and river might flood when heavy rain. Difficult road with lots of water in case of heavy rain. Stop at El Chaten and ask for road conditions or try to contact the lodge but sometimes difficult to reach via cell phone. This lodge is very pricey. Not recommended for low budget. But if budget permitted, worth the money

Review 7:Great location. when weather permitted, if sunny and no rain, Fitz Roy and Torre can be observed. Glaciar just in front the lodge. Very comfortable lodge, nice room and great bathroom. Got the Fitz Roy room with fantastic view. Excellent staff, great food. Pato and husband Ivor are excellent hosts. For a relaxing stay and memorable experience stay at Agua Arriba

Review 8:Having to leave.

Review 9:The owner/hosts, Pato and Ivor are very warm and knowledgable people. They truly built and operate this lodge out of their passion for the magnificent area the lodge is located in. It's really off the beaten path, very unique and extremely special. Very worth the trip getting there. Stay at least three nights. We can't wait to go back! They also have a great staff. We loved Juluana, the hiking guide. Also, had fresh rainbow trout caught from the glacier fed lake right outside. Like a dream!

Review 10:Wonderful location. Excellent staff especially Ana, Leo andKaterine

Review 11:The location is really special, wonderful nature. Paro and Ibor make us fell at home. Lovely!!!

Review 12:Every thing is very nice, De House the People the staff and the Trails are very nice

Review 13:We really did not like to leave

Review 14:Excellent and unique location. Only accomodation on this small and pristine lake. Warm family owners and outstanding staff. Food, facilities and staff make for a memorable stay. Not overly expensive--rather a good value for your $$.
