Reviews for Best Western Premier Grand Hotel Russischer Hof

Review 1:Restaurant. The shown menu carte in the lobby was not available, the menu in restaurant was very dull, no a la carte possible. A bit below the class of the hotel.

Review 2:staff very helpfull, breakfast high standard, valet parking, location, junior suite on goethe platz etc.

Review 3:Nothing to dislike

Review 4:Our room was clean, quiet, comfortable, and fully equiped, a great bed, covers, and pillows, and a great bathroom with comfortable fixtures and a great shower

Review 5:Wifi was very intermittent. Breakfast very expensive and unexciting. Rather stiff set-up. There are lots of little cafés in the immediate vicinity which serve breakfast at much cheaper rates.

Review 6:Very helpful staff. Very 'correct', reassuringly German. Big room, comfortable beds, Air conditioning which was essential during one of the hottest weeks in August. Great central location. Weimar is very pretty indeed and well worth a trip, quite apart from the obvious tourist attractions, i.e. Schiller/Goethe/Bauhaus.

Review 7:Unfortunately there were no taxis at the station in Weimar when we arrived at the hotel on a Saturday afternoon. That is not of course the fault of the hotel and had we known we should have contacted the hotel in advance to request a taxi.

Review 8:Location and comfort

Review 9:Useless aircon,Useless pillows, soft mattress,Twin bed instead of double, Hotel not giving special bed requests & pre authorising CC.

Review 10:Location,Historical Property,Free wifi,,Buffet Breakfast,Good Bar/Restaurant.Recepton &'Room Furniture Quality.

Review 11:Excellent service in this hotel: When we arrived late in the evening, the hotel staff helped us with the luggage, parked our car and brought us a crip for our baby son. And when we missed breakfast in the morning, we could still have in the coffee house in the hotel, choosing whatever we wanted to have.

Review 12:The staff in the restaurant Anastasia was very rude, even though we were the only clients in the restaurant at 6 pm. However, the quality of food was very high, especialy of the steak.

Review 13:Staff of the hotel is very friendly. The rooms are spacious and calm. Te bathroom is clean and spacious.

Review 14:Too many museums and points of interest closed on Monday. A rather provincial air!!

Review 15:Great location in historic centre, near buses to other sights.Quiet luxurious rooms and excellent staff. Delightful city with superb restaurants, market squares and picture-book houses. The surrounding woods add to the overall pleasure

Review 16:Bathroom is small and ready for refurbishment and doesn't suit the rest of the room.

Review 17:Very nice and spacious room with balcony. Central location in Weimar, perfect for city exploring. Free parking on 3 min. walk.

Review 18:We were greeted with a smile and everything was sunny after that! Lovely room and excellent position. The car was parked for us and the staff were delightful.

Review 19:After an halfway aborted reservation on the site of Best Western and a succesful one with booking.com, they charged twice for the same room the same night and did find this normal The breakfast is too expensive

Review 20:quality of room location parking facilities

Review 21:Splendid welcome. Staff very helpful and courteous. Facilities - especially in room - superb. Bar and restaurant also top class. This Hotel has been going since 1830, had many famous guests and is just getting better and better!

Review 22:Excellent accommodation for our families (both from Kent and Scotland, UK). Food brilliant and the location perfect for touring within the town and further afield. Easy for us to join our extended families who live in villages nearby too.

Review 38:Service, location, friendly staff

Review 39:Cost of car park

Review 40:Atmosphere, location, service, room comfort ... great pillows

Review 41:Close to center of town. Big room.

Review 42:As with all German hotels, there were some problemswith the wi fi in the room.

Review 43:Location and the fine staff.

Review 44:Aircondition not possible to adjust

Review 45:Friendly and helpful staff Great location Fabulous breakfast

Review 46:Good position in the old town, easy to arrive by car, garage. The basis room very nice and beautiful decoration, bathroom perfect.

Review 47:the charm, the friendliness, the location and the quietness

Review 48:central location, but still quiet

Review 49:A little expensive comparing other hotels in the town, but acceptable considering the location

Review 50:Best location

Review 51:Valet parking. Staff v helpful.

Review 52:Just about everything except the overpriced breakfast. Apart from that its tip top.

Review 53:The room, the bed, the quietness, the location, the food of course, it's a wonderful hotel.

Review 54:The lady in the breakfast room was not very nice

Review 55:Great Location Great Staff

Review 56:Price for breakfast.

Review 57:Room and facilities well thought of.

Review 58:The location was perfect for a quick stroll into the Old Town. Our room was beautifully appointed, and the beds were very comfortable.

Review 59:Ineffective air conditioning

Review 60:Excellent location near Weimar's attractions and shopping. Good soundproofing

Review 61:Location, interior, cleanliness, room and bed comfirt

Review 62:Great location and beautiful charming place.

Review 63:Nothing.

Review 64:Looks like a recently renovate hotel. Price was amazingly low for such elegance. Nice they offered bowls of fruit and delicious gummy bears in the lobby.

Review 65:The room was clean and very comfortable. I especially liked the patio in my room where I could sit outside and have coffee in the morning and relax in the evening. The staff was very friendly and helpful as well. The location was central to the attractions of the city.

Review 66:I didn't have breakfast there, because like other travellers, I think that 19 Euros for breakfast is far too expensive. Most people don't want to eat a large breakfast, in order to justify this expense.

Review 67:The staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive. The room was reasonably spacious and had air-conditioning that worked and was not noisy i.e. you could sleep with it on (very unusual in my experience of hotels).

Review 68:Absolutely Nothing

Review 69:Staff most friendly Bar prices very good £2.25 500 ml Pils same for Large wine. Coffee 1-2 Euro cake 2.40 Euro. Breakfasts excellent whatever you prefer. Restaurant run independently I believe is up to Michelin Star standard superb and again very good value. Rooms are air conditioned and very comfortable. Location is in the heart of old Weimar (not a problem) In the centre of the old Medieval city. Plenty to do and see if you like parks, Houses , museums, music. Definitely not boring because we had our 20 year old student daughter with us who enjoyed the weeks stay. Nothing bad about the stay at all and learnt about the Weimar Republic, Goete, Schiller, and also but not so good Buchenwald camp was 5 miles away and really worth a visit if history or family history is your thing. German School children are still taken in class groups to the camp which is well run as museum. Weimar is really worth a visit and the Hotel was first class. Only limited English speaking but enough to get by about the town and cafes & Restaurants ( Not all German, Italian, Indian, Spanish etc. all round)

Review 70:The only was too narrow shower curtain in bathroom, so some water got to the floor.

Review 71:Everything was perfect. Good room conditioning. Luxury design. All amenities provided. Superb!

Review 72:Everything one would expect from a hotel of this class: excellent facilities & service, luxurious rooms, great central location and pet friendly. Also has an interesting history with famous clients.

Review 73:The location is perfect and although being in the middle of the beautiful city of Weimar it is very quiet. The staff was very sweet and charming. They tried to fulfill every wish and did even a bit more. Definitely to reccomend!

Review 74:that they charged extra for parking , 14 euros/day and expensive breakfast 19 euros. Add that to your bill and is the same of those apparently fancier five stars that are also around...

Review 75:perfect location. The room where very spacious, late room service and very good quality. Old fashioned in a good way.

Review 76:I wasn't told the restaurant, Anastascia was not associated with the hotel so I could not assign the cost to my expenses. I mean you walk right into it from the lobby unless they tell you how would you know and I wasn't told until it was time to pay. The rooms are very small. VERY. But lovely, well appointed and clean. The bed was too low to the ground and way too soft.

Review 77:The fittings are beautiful. Brass and crystal. The lobby though small is elegant.

Review 78:Great location near the historical center. Spacious room with classical decor. Free wi-fi. Dogs allowed. Private paying parking. Friendly staff.

Review 79:Breakfast of Eur 19 is expensive, there is on 30 mtr an excellentbakery, serving good coffee as well.

Review 80:Excellent location, on 50 metres of city centre + opera. On walkingdistance of the main railwaz station. Nice hotel.

Review 81:Apart from one helpful young waiter, breakfast was an absolute shambles. We were just "left" with nowhere to sit - but seats for others "reserved". Had they had previous experience of breakfast here? Tables not cleared, food dishes not re-stocked or "refreshed". Eventually (just after 8 am) an older lady appeared, allegedly in charge but she was officious and the situation did not improve. Room service- it took three visits for us to be properly served with a simple request - a tea tray with black tea bags!! Car brought up for us on the morning of our departure - but no offer of help with the luggage. The young man just stood back and watched! Some aspects of management need addressing - the best is very good but there are some clear weaknesses. Recommendation below is subject to the weaknesses being rectified.

Review 82:Location - perfect. Room - excellent - roomy and clean. Receptionist on arrival and departure - delightful, helpful and friendly - but efficient as well. Porter who parked the car on arrival also very polite and friendly.

Review 83:The reason for staying here was to visit Buchenwald Concentration Camp and the bus stop to visit here (about 20 minutes) was located right outside the hotel. The city was a delight to walk around and quaint. Visit Erfurt but do not bother staying there.

Review 84:Service at desk with help could have been better. It depended who was onduty but helpfulness to foreign visitors could be improved.

Review 85:This is a very comfortable hotel right in the middle of Weimar. It is inthe old style with large lounges and comfortable bedrooms. Room notcleaned properly would be my only complaint otherwise I would thoroughlyrecommend this hotel.

Review 86:A lovely historical hotel with helpful staff and a great location convenient to the centre of Weimar. The hotel is traditionally decorated, but the rooms are very comfortable with all the conveniences you would expect.

Review 87:We have been told that the nearest parking was 10 minutes away and havebeen advised to take valid parking. The parking was just around thecorner! The wine list for a country that has such nice wines was notgood and representative and relative expensive. The waiters in therestaurant where not aware what they where doing. Zero efficiency! Thebilling was false 2 one litre bottles water for €15,- where chargedwhilst it were 0.5 litre bottles!

Review 88:The room was very good

Review 89:AC not really working fine, can't adjust temp. and the fan.

Review 90:Ability to use the car park past the room check out

Review 91:Very clean, classy decor, excellent location (but still very quiet).

Review 92:Its "Russian" elegance is something special.

Review 93:Nothing to dislike.

Review 94:The hotel exudes a wonderful 'Belle Epoche' atmosphere. Very attentive service.

Review 95:Breakfast very good but expensive.

Review 96:Very friendly staff.

Review 97:overly long wait to have car delivered from car park when leaving

Review 98:Position; room and cleanliness

Review 99:-------------------------------

Review 100:Staff is friendly and precise. Breakfast is one of a kind indeed. Room is cozy.

Review 101:The room was too warm and the air condition did not work well

Review 102:None

Review 103:Closeness to the city center and park. And flexibility of check-out time. Friendliness of the staff.

Review 104:Very good location, close to everywhere. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Review 105:The parking place was very expensive !

Review 106:Location in the center of Weimar

Review 107:Had to wait for car to be brought around

Review 108:Excellent central location - luxurious hotel

Review 109:Upgrade, competent service of counter

Review 110:History and style

Review 111:Breakfast very good. Comfortable beds.

Review 112:Interessant history of the hotel
