Review 6:nothing
Review 7:On booking we requested dinner with a table overlooking the river as suggested by a previous review. We were not disappointed even though the restaurant was full with locals our table was waiting for us. The food was excellent and the quality both at dinner and breakfast was exceptional. We were made to feel welcome from the time we arrived to when we left.
Review 8:well, the road is between the Rhein and the hotel !

Review 12:wow, what a great value for money hotel this turned out to be, friendly reception, small but very clean room with balcony. had dinner in the restaurant and it was excellent, the best value dinner and best value stay of our Christmas Trip
Review 13:The towels need to be replaced soon.
Review 14:The owner welcomed us, carried our luggage to the room, made sure everything was as we had requested. Meals in the hotel were a treat! Again the owner is hands-on, the staff always courteous, the food delicious and fairly priced. The entire place was lovingly decorated for Christmas - another example of how this hotel is run!
Review 15:there was nothing to dislike
Review 16:everything, friendly and attentive staff ,great food and plenty of it,balcony and river facing room.easy access to boat boarding trips. we would definetly stay here again
Review 17:There was nothing to dislike
Review 18:The very genuine welcome from the owners, Susanne and Marcus set the tone for this Hotel and it's staff Both owners speak English with Marcus being particularly fluent. As Marcus is also responsible for the excellent cuisine his insights into his forte of traditional German cooking are of particular interest. To ensure guests enjoy their meals to the full Marcus is always willing to make suggestions and swap accompaniments where possible. The number of locals dining speak volumes for the food and service quality. Our room had a balcony with excellent views of the fascinating Rhine and although compact was comfortable and clean. The hotel has plenty of free parking and is well placed for bus, ferry and train connections to explore the area. We look forward to returning in the near future.
Review 19:Noisy with open window!
Review 20:The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Bedroom was pleasant, well insulated from the river and traffic noise (with closed window), and had a great view over the Rhine. Restaurant and food (breakfast and dinner) very good, and there was plenty of parking next to the hotel.
Review 21:Markus and Suzanne are a man and wife team They are welcoming, engaging, very helpful and cheerful. What more does one want? Good Food! The restaurant is very popular with local people Is there a better recommendation than that. I must mention Uta who is part of the team Auf Wiedersehen
Review 22:Not being able to stay longer.
Review 23:Everything about this hotel was wonderful, from the location and the evening meal and also a wonderful breakfast. Owners and staff very helpful and spoke English which is always a bonus. Would love to stay again. Very pleasant place indeed.
Review 24:Nothing, couldn't have been happier. Where I have marked "good" and not "excellent", consider the incredible value and the rating should really have been "fantastic".
Review 25:We received a very warm welcome from the owners, both husband and wife. He ran the kitchen which turned out excellent food and she ran the restaurant / breakfast with friendly efficiency. Nothing seemed too much trouble. We had a room with balcony overlooking the Rhine, views of the romantic slopes and the "Feindlichen Brüder" (Hostile Brothers, look up the medieval legend) , two castles on the hill-top, illuminated at night. The hotel lies in the small health spa of Bad Salzig which is quiet, don't expect boisterous festivities. You do, however, get a river promenade which affords safe walking and cycling. The town lies near the northern end of the Rhine Gorge, a 40 mile stretch which was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 2002. It's a hop and a ferry to the legendary Lorelei (again, look up the legend), a steep rock overlooking the Rhine with fabulous views. Our room had all mod cons except air con, the windows were triple glazed to protect against the noise from the extremely busy railway on the other bank of the river. The room was quiet at night. The hosts had reserved a table with full view of the Rhine - both romantic and with its busy traffic of barges and pleasure cruisers a testament to German and, for that matter, Dutch industriousness - and the dinner was excellent. My wife had some sekt (German sparkling wine) and the house wine which was tasty, I tried the local beer - always pleasing in Germany! We were reluctant to leave as we could easily have spent more time at the "Perle." We thank our hosts for the excellent service they provided and we compliment them on their hospitality. Alex Polizzi, Hotel Inspector, should have a look - this is how it's done! Lastly, the value for money was quite simply incredible. Would we recommend and stay again? Yeah, yeah and thrice yeah.
Review 26:Extremely friendly, welcoming staff. Fantastic breakfast. Good location near the Loreley and will a stunning view across the Rhine to two castles. Very reasonable price.
Review 27:Could not stay longer..
Review 28:Everyone at the Hotel worked very hard to make our stay enjoyable. We would stay there again next time we are in this area. Good location, great staff and good value.
Review 29:Nothing to dislike.
Review 30:Quiet location overlooking the Rhine and is about 4 kilometers fom Boppard.Room was bit small but comfortable with balcony. Every day a fresh complimentary bottle of mineral water and packets of sweets were supplied. Owners were very friendly and food was excellent. Guests who booked an evening meal were guaranteed a table overlooking the Rhine with a pair of binoculars per table. If you eat there you must try their soup of the day - always a delight. I have never tasted Asparagus soup as good as theirs. Ideal location for exploring the middle Rhine area.
Review 31:You definitely need a car but that is the case with all villages and towns on the Rhine. I thought the hotel was much closer to Boppard when I booked it. My mistake, not the hotel's.
Review 32:The restaurant was excellent value. They let us open one of our bottles of wine for no cost. Breakfast was lovely with beautiful views over the Rhine.
Review 33:Cosy room with balcony overlooking the river rhein. Nicely decorated dining area with limited but nice breakfast

Review 49:the rain
Review 50:everything
Review 51:a bit noisy, VERY small bathroom, a bit over priced due to the above
Review 52:Nice folk, nice little town for a few beers and food a short walk away, fine for a stop over on your travels, free secure parking.
Review 53:Only the number of stairs but that is an issue with my wife'smobility. No complaints whatever.
Review 54:The staff were wonderful and went out of their way to help. Breakfastwas very good and had excellent variety. We were also very pleased withthe quality and value of the dinner.
Review 55:to leave
Review 56:Very nice place. The principal family welcoming and very friendly, Marcus will provide you with every need; Sometimes, a bowl of strawberries and a bottle of good wine at departure. Breakfast is served in the restaurant with river view (you'll find binoculars next to each table), we ate dinner, typical German food very tasty and inexpensive. Recommend highly. Goodbye Marcus.
Review 57:1. small 2. old 3. facilities are soso 4. View of the river is not the best area, soso scenery
Review 58:1. close to the Rhein River. 2. the owner of hotel is very warm-hearted. 3. Decoration of the restaurant is nice 4. Breakfast is simple but good. and all included in the room rate, which is very value-for-money.
Review 59:A wonderful welcome from Marcus. He and Susanna did everything they could for our comfort and pleasure. We felt very comfortable there, quite at home! The rooms are fine , the beds and bedding excellent. We will definitelystay there again on our way nosrth or south-worth making a detour for!
Review 60:Friendly caring hotel team Restaurant food and service exceptional Best Breakfast we had on our 7 day tour Cannot fault this hotel 10 out of 10 in every regard
Review 61:"He is the nicest man I think I've ever met" said my 12 year old son about the owner. Hard to argue - the owner is an incredibly friendly and helpful man who welcomed us like old friends. He instantly made two frazzled adults and two fractious adolescents forget that moments earlier we were about to kill each other, having endured a truly horrible 12 hour car journey (we expected 8 hours)through extended traffic standstills, torrential rain and over-exposure to motorway service centres! Perle am Rhein is a simple, homely place offering clean and comfortable rooms, good food, great value for money and wonderful hospitality. A welcome reprieve from the unanticipated motorway madness and an excellent starting point for a lazy meander along the Rhine the following day.
Review 62:One has to accept some noise along the Rhine as it is a very busy waterway with train lines on both sides of the river.
Review 63:The owner was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast very good. Room comfortable.
Review 64:Good location with scenic view across Rhein. Friendly English speaking owners, when I ordered large Pils said they had 2 and then brought me a part glass of each to see which one I preferred.food was very good and the triple glazed windows kept out the noise of the trains from the other side of the river.
Review 65:Nothing.
Review 66:As always, Markus, Susanna and staff are outstanding. The hotel is very special - a real pearl - and we can't recommend the hotel enough. Markus works very hard to make it a personal experience and goes out of his way to help. Outstanding.
Review 67:Very friendly welcome, excellent food, lovely room which looked over the Rhine. Will definitely make this hotel a regular stop on our way to and from Austria
Review 68:Markus and Suzanna are outstanding hosts and make nap good hotel outstanding. Nothing is too much effort and the hotel is clearly valued by the local people.
Review 69:The staff were fantastic. Very friendly and accommodating. They were extremely attentive towards our dog. She got treats and water and was allowed to run around the fenced in garden. It was my birthday and they remembered and congratulated me. They made the day very special. The food in the restaurant was out of this world and we were allowed to take our dog there. We even cane back from Boppard on the day we had left the room, to eat there again, it was so tasty and great value for money.
Review 70:Very friendly owner. Great restaurant with a view of castles and river. We had two rooms on separate floors. One was facing the front with great river and castle views. Second room was facing side, had balcony but you could still see the castles and river. Although the rooms were a little small, they were cosy, clean, and beds were comfy. Oh, and loved the little packs of gummy bears each night on the pillow.
Review 71:Towels are a little bit stiff probably due to water or the way they are being laundered.
Review 72:Home away from home. Seldom to see this kind of family run hotel. Marcus and Susan will feel you at ease just like home and always at help in providing travel tips and information. Hearty breakfast, good, adequate tasty dinner, and remarkable cuteness and ambiance of the restaurant. Well deserved to stay again.
Review 73:Received a very warm welcome from the owner, even served us some soup after lunch hours over... The rooms with balconies were just storybook overlooking the busy Rhine and Castles. The Restaurant is reasonable in cost with excellent food . A perfect setting for any occasion and could not fault any part of our stay.... Superb !!!!
Review 74:The hosts were extremely friendly, helpful & always ready to give time to answer questions about the surrounding area and related activities. Their pleasant & happy manner set the tone for the hotel & we had many chats with other guests, who were also enjoying their stay.
Review 75:No dislikes at all
Review 76:Excellent all round. Really good dinner menu and excellent breakfast. The location fronting the Rhine was perfect with great views of the 2 castles on the opposite side
Review 77:The hotel is not in Boppard but in neighboring village. Only some roomshave river view. The room without the view has window to the backyardwhere fast trains pass by. Very uncomfortable compromise between closingthe window and being without air of keeping the window open and gettingall the noise from trains passing only at 50 m distance.
Review 78:Staff Breakfast
Review 79:Nearby railway makes some noise.
Review 80:Very friendly and helpful ownerfamily. First-class, excellent restaurant. Nice view (two castles and river) and good location. Traditional interior.
Review 81:Old rooms, not very good soundproofing, but did not wake up during the night.
Review 82:The idyllic scenery, restaurant was ok as well and staff was flexible. I only stayed one night driving through.
Review 83:Carrying our luggage up 3 flights of stairs was very difficult at ourages... And after a full day of travel. When we arrived we had to callto get the place open (as it was closed on Mondays) but we had no phoneso we had to go into town and find someone who was kind enough to callfor us. The owner came within 30 minutes and opened the hotel up forus. The rooms and bathrooms were the smallest we've ever seen. Noac, no fan....and just a small unit that was supposed to bring in freshair but didn't do much. We ended up opening our windows...but therewere no screens.
Review 84:The owner was very nice and very accommodating. The breakfast room had agreat view of the Rhine River and the food was good.
Review 85:Everything was great. Very friendly personnel, great restaurant. We asked for a room with a balcony, we received a positive reply immediately. Magnificent view over Rhein and castles from the balcony. Totally recommended!
Review 86:The balcony was very tatty and the outside chairs and table needed replacing. In fact, the whole place needed an uplift.A full length mirror would have been helpful. The `bathroom` was extremely small and old fashioned.
Review 87:Marcus and his wife were very friendly. The evening dinner was excellent - best we`ve had on the Rhine. The bed was comfortable. It was great to be able to board a sight-seeing boat trip so near to the hotel.
Review 88:I arrived the day the Rhein flooding occurred. Despite the staff being busy dealing with that, they took time to welcome me and get me settled. I was there for two weeks and everyone was very friendly and helpful. The food was amazing, the rooms were basic and clean with outstanding views of the Rhein River and castles across the river. I will stay here again on my next trip to Germany.

Review 94:Impossible to fault this place - a true gem!
Review 95:A truly excellent small guesthouse right on the waterfront.Exceptionally clean, room very well equipped, triple-glazed windowsblock sound of trains echoing across the river, very comfortable bedwith warm, fluffy duvet, very comprehensive full breakfast - all for 40Euros for a single room with late booking reduction. But I'd behappy to pay the usual 50 Euro rate here - its worth it. Restaurant isclosed on Mondays - I failed to spot the note to this effect on thewebpage, so the owner phoned me. Friendly, helpful German owner speaksexcellent English. I arrived late (21.30pm) but the owner stayed up towelcome me. Safe parking in front of guesthouse. Truly excellent - Iwill be back!
