Reviews for Hotel Sonnenhof
Review 1:No near by car parking, but most places in the area have the same problems. Owner did inform us of car parking options.
Review 2:The owner very helpful and informative. Well placed to visit nearby locations and use local transport.
Review 3:The hotel is near the train track so it is loud at times. The east side is hot in the morning and the sun rises about 5:00 so you may want to select a room on the west side during the summer. No AC and no fans
Review 4:Too many stairs for an older couple but we were at the top and there are rooms lower down. Parking 10 minute walk away. Car access difficult to find.
Review 5:One minute to centre of town.
Review 6:Quaint hotel with a lovely owner, Sylvia. I travelled with my cousin who was familiar with the Rhine area. Excellent buffet breakfast. Room was more than adequate. Little train noise, but what a gem. Prior reviews are accurate.
Review 7:Don't use the WiFi, the privacy policy and the forced actions for access should be illegal ... it should be noted that this is a problem with a third party the hotel uses.
Review 8:Excellent accommodation. Has all the basics and makes a great base for exploring the Rhine.
Review 9:The hotel is too close to the train tracks, so you can hear (and even feel) the trains in the room, even during the night. Even if the hotel is quite clean, it is a little bit old, so it smells a bit to humidity (not in the room, luckily).
Review 10:The hotel is close to the river shore, and the town is small, so everything is easily reachable.
Review 11:Quite near the station, sometimes, it is a very little bit noisy when the trains come. But it is not so bad. Strange smell at the entrance and staircase. But inside the room it's ok. Wifi needs to post something on my FB. But I can delete it later. No problem.
Review 12:The hostess is nice and helpful. Breakfast is full of options and as good as in a good resort. Wifi is available most of the time and quite enough for Skype or Viber communication. Heater worked very well. The design of the bed is nice.
Review 13:Quality of sleep was affected by church bells and train. Driving to the location was challenging because of one way streets.
Review 14:Sylvia, the hostess, was the friendliest and most helpful of our entire trip. Breakfast buffet was excellent. The location was also excellent to walk the city and to the tour boats.
Review 15:There are no lights in the corridor so please be prepared to use the lighting function of your phone or a torch. And I don't know why I cant connect to the wifi after I wake up in the morning, but there is no problem of connect during the light before... And the most important thing is the wifi forbids me from online in Skype and facetime... (Keep 'connecting' but never connected)
Review 16:The hotel is just 2-mins walk from the K-D pier. There is wifi in the room and it is quick. There is also a bottle of free sparkling water in the room! The mattress is comfortable and the lining is very nice.
Review 17:no elevator, nois from the train
Review 18:great shower, close to the river
Review 19:single rooms were a bit small
Review 20:central location, very clean, well maintained, decent breakfast, good value for money
Review 21:No parking by hotel No elevator in hotel (for older travelers it presents problem)
Review 22:Staff friendliness.. Rooms bright and warm comfortable feeling.
Review 23:Comfortable room with tea and kettle. And, of course, Haribo sweets :)
Review 24:Nothing
Review 25:Central location
Review 26:As we were catching a train it would have been nice for breakfast to start at 7.30 rather than 8.00.
Review 27:Friendly staff and excellent location. Comfortable room.
Review 28:Parking nearby is difficult if no garagebox available (5€/day upcharge for box).
Review 29:Clean room, German-style friendly staff, decent breakfast. Centrally located in Boppard, opposite to Roman ruins. Car parking very safe: we had our own box with key! Perfect base for Castle visits: Rheinfels15', Rheinstein 30', Markburg 25', Lahnstein 20', Stolzenfels 10'.
Review 30:A really great value for money hotel situated up a quiet street opposite the old wall remains & a stone's throw from the town where there are plenty of eating / drinking options. Our hostess could not have been more helpful ... the hotel advertises a parking charge in their private garage overnight, but charged us just one euro for our cycles as we shared the garage with a couple of motorcycles. Listening to other guests it was clear several were on repeat trips, which speaks volumes about the hotel. Highly recommended.
Review 31:Can't say we really didn't like anything, but light sleepers might find the nearby trainline a bit noisy and there is no lift although two stories. Hewever the hotel is extremely reasonable which goes a long way to forgiving everything. We liked it well enough to go back two weeks later!
Review 32:Very friendly welcome. A particularly excellent and varied breakfast, with some unusual and welcome options, such as a tomato/mozzarella mixed salad and smoked salmon.
Review 33:There is no lift. The free parking was about 800m away. Wifi did notwork. The bed sheets were a bit rough.
Review 34:Friendly staff. Big bathroom although dated. Place ok for one to twonight stay.
Review 35:Some may find proximity to railway line bothersome (Though being tired I didn't!) Wi-Fi was almost impossible to get as through a German supplier, not the hotel.
Review 36:Great location, single rooms basic but comfortable. Staff went out of their way to help with an early breakfast for my early train. Would stay again.
Review 37:The sheets were made from rough linen, the single room I stayed in wastiny. Unrestricted free public parking is available, but a good 5minutes walk from the hotel.
Review 38:Good range of food available at breakfast. Central location. Friendlystaff. Good WiFi access as advertised.
Review 39:If the private parking is not available it is a bit of a teck to the nearest carpark ,but it is quiete enough to drop off or pick up luggage outside hotel,so no problem for majority of people.
Review 40:Excellent room, very comfortable, and friendly staff. good breakfast. We would consider staying there again.
Review 41:Very clean, nice beds, hot shower, great staff! Wouldn't stay anywhere else if we return to Boppard! Breakfast was really good and fast wifi.
Review 42:Good breakfast, restaurant on site. Staff were lovely and very friendly.
Review 43:The railway.
Review 44:Location. Friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast, restaurant. Nice large room.
Review 45:breakfast!
Review 46:With two bulky suitcases the lack of a lift. Long holidays require big suitcases.
