Reviews for Haus Schwarzenberg

Review 1:This is our forth stay and is still very friendly, comfortable with a very good choice of breakfast. Will return when in the area in the future. Recommended.

Review 2:The closeness of the main road was apparent but not enough to out us off.

Review 3:Lovely hosts who went the extra for our 5 yr old son (colouring at dinner table, his own shampoo in room & colourful duvet cover!). We were warmly welcomed and visit again.

Review 4:Liked all. As an idea perhaps make more use for al fresco dining at the small terrace at the side of the house.

Review 5:Friendly and engaging couple only too pleased to help. We ate in the restaurant and the food was good value. Breakfast was excellent and the room very comfortable and clean.

Review 6:Marta and Michael are superior hosts, very attentive, helpful and friendly. Great breakfast and Marta cooks a great dinner for her guests. Great location for day trips on the Mosel.

Review 7:Nothing to criticise.

Review 8:We were made to feel very welcome by Michael and Marta and the Hotel was as warm as the welcome. Everything was clean and comfortable and the food was truly superb, nothing was too much trouble. We will stay there again when we are that way!

Review 9:Restaurant is for residents only so it can be a bit quiet in off season but food is very good and very reasonably priced

Review 10:Great value for money Good tip contact owners prior to visit and they will send you on free tickets for local transport including shuttle bus from Frankfurt Hahn.

Review 11:Give me a year and perhaps I'll think of something. Quite seriously, the Andre family deserve the many plaudits they have received on Booking.com and elsewhere!

Review 12:Michael & Marta, the proprietors, and their sons. Michael's care and followup. Marta's exceptional cooking--the finest meals we among the thirty German meals in Bavaria and the Mosel Valley.

Review 13:On the main drag, but not too noisy.

Review 14:The owners (who are the staff) are wonderful, friendly people wanting to help. The food is fantastic. Calm Ernst allows me to easily relax and just be happy.

Review 15:Michael and Marta were such wonderful hosts. They provided excellent information and pointers on things to do in the local area. Michael helped us with our luggage when we arrived and when we left as well. Marta sent us an email before we arrived asking if we would like to have dinner there the first night we were there. A menu was included in the email and we picked from it. Both of our meals were excellent. The breakfast was also very good. I don't think you could find a more enjoyable place to stay anywhere close by. The town was also charming.

Review 16:None for us.

Review 17:The owner is like my friend, waiting for our very late checkin and telling lots of information for us. The small village is also very nice.

Review 18:We were offered dinner but we didn't accept the offer as we would have been sitting in an empty restaurant. Not obvious from the outside that they served food so didn't attract people to eat there. The sheet of paper in the room was a rather unwelcoming list of things you shouldn't do - makes you feel a little uneasy and uncomfortable.

Review 19:The room was clean and comfortable and the owners very welcoming.

Review 20:In very hot weather, perhaps a small fan could be provided in the rooms?

Review 21:The owners are very helpful and speak excellent English. The location is great, right by the mosel river and much better than being in Cochem itself. Plenty of wine tasting places and a small selection of places to eat in Ernst (if you fancy a change from the homemade food cooked in the Guesthouse. Easy to get to places to visit by car or public transport. If you are on a motorbike or bicycle, you can park it safely in the family's garage. Free parking outside the hotel for cars. Very clean and comfortable accommodation. Good breakfast, particularly so for a small guesthouse.

Review 22:rooms on street side noisy if you like to sleep with window open

Review 24:We've enjoyed very much chez Michael and Martha, the view from our window was just fantastic! Would like to recommend also Martha's home-made dishes.

Review 25:The family who runs it is very nice. The property is impeccably clean. Breakfast is nice and filling.

Review 26:Narrow stairs to climb with heavy luggage.

Review 27:Host cooks really nice dinner.

Review 28:Traffic noise early a.m.

Review 29:Friendly welcome, quality of food, especially breakfast.

Review 35:What's not to like

Review 36:Marta & Michael were excellent hosts, nothing was a problem for them and they were so helpful with information on where visit and routes to get there. The hotel was spotlessly clean and Martas cooking exceptional.

Review 37:Fans in the rooms would have been fantastic.

Review 38:Michael and Marta were excellent hosts. The food was outstanding and the guidance for touring was awesome. Thank you

Review 39:The decor is rather spartan but the room clean and comfortable.

Review 40:Charming young family working hard to make a dream come true. Very civic-minded. Our host was absent in order to attend the town council meeting. I enjoyed the view out our window of the Mosel River.

Review 41:There was nothing I did not like. For the cost and what is offered you can not beat it.

Review 42:For a B&B in a small town this is an excellent property. I recommend you order dinner for at least one night while there as Marta is an excellent cook. The family goes out of their way to meet any needs. If you go, stay here!

Review 43:Looking back...We should have stayed longer, cause the hotel in the nexttown was marginal.

Review 44:A warm welcome awaits you from the owners and simple rooms are veryclean! Best stay... Compared to several places we stayed on our 2 weeksjourney across Germany. Will definitely stay again!

Review 45:Marta and Michael were wonderful hosts, really helpful and full of tips about the area. We had a lovely corner room with two windows, one overlooking the river. The continental buffet breakfasts were fantastic. There was plenty of choice and it was all excellent quality. The homemade jam made by Marta from local vineyard peaches was delicious.

Review 46:EVERYTHING! The owners/hosts were exceptional. We had a medical emergency during our stay. Michael & Marta provided support of all kinds for us...transportation, translation, communication, extended lodging, meals, and moral support. Can't say enough good about them

Review 47:It's on a busy street but so are most lodgings in this area of the Mosel.

Review 48:Michael and Marta were marvelous hosts helping us with travel planning and ideas. Breakfasts and dinners were scrumptious. Wine festivals in the area were fun to visit as was a slate mine.

Review 49:Our hosts helped us in every way possible. The evening meal and breakfast were excellent. Located beside the Mosel with fine views and near some good attractions. A quiet room with all that we needed.

Review 50:What a pleasant surprise. Nice and clean room. Good breakfast. Very very courteous staff and owner. Great value for low cost. Strongly recommended to all. Hope to return again. ^ ^

Review 52:Nothing negative to say about this gem.

Review 53:Extremely hospitable and thoughtful owners, and wonderful cooking by Marta. These were among the nicest hosts we have experienced in any of our travels.

Review 54:Michael & Marta were very welcoming hosts with Michael very helpful on what to see in the local area and how to get there.Needed more than 2days. A wonderful area to visit! Breakfast was a treat!

Review 55:• Owners were very friendly and helpful • Excellent food • Comfortable, clean bedroom which was larger than average, certainly at the price paid. • Great breakfast choice • Lovely location

Review 56:It´s a verly nice hotel in a beautiful city near Cochen.Michael is awonderful person. The very best to talk and give the most preciousinformation about the region. The food , in the restaurant, was the best. The breakfast huge and very good. It´s a place to remember and stey forever. We love it. The room has a beautiful view for the Mosel river.

Review 57:We loved the location, outside of the larger city Cochem. We loved that everything about the inn was new and upgraded. We thought the proprietors were charming and helpful.

Review 58:As I had hoped Michael was very helpful in giving suggestions for a boat trip, car trip to Trier and other locations. I was able to walk a short way and hire a bike locally for the day to ride 54km along the Mosel River bike paths. Plus he was able to provide a range of local wines for me to compare with those from South Australia. Marta cooked up vegetarian dinner options.

Review 59:Hotel is in a very pretty area of the wine country. Plenty of wineries to choose from nearby, with access to all the other small towns nearby. Good breakfast. Free parking.

Review 60:Very pleasant couple running the hotel, who made us very comfortable. Westayed 2 nights on the way back from visiting friends further south inGermany, and were unfamiliar with the area. The owners were extremelyhelpful in offering things we could do during our stay, and providedbrochures and maps to assist us. We had Bed and Breakfast, with dinneron one evening. The meals and food were of high quality and servedpromptly and attractively. We enjoyed our stay.

Review 61:It was a little unusual to have to order dinner 3 weeks in advance.

Review 62:Very welcoming. Try hard to please. Very good. breakfast for a small hotel. Dinner was also good.

Review 63:M & m Andre are very hospitable and accommodating. We got some helpfuldirections & suggestions for day trips. Room rates are very reasonable, included breakfast is quite substantial, and the dinner we had(purchased) was one of the best while in Germany. I would definitelyrecommend this to someone traveling through the Mosel, preferred thelocation to tourist-y nearby Cochem.

Review 64:Not recommended. The attitude of the manager towards the customers isnegative. My son tried to move the bed and broke a leg (cheapfurniture). He did not realize that. The manager wrote us saying that wehided him the fact. He took his car to try to catch us in Koln and askus to pay his gas and 150 euros for the damage to the bed. No morecomments....

Review 65:The location was perfect - close to Cochem and overlooking the Moselle River. Most of allh though, it was the welcome and care and desire to please of the owners

Review 66:My wife and I were traveling the Moselle by car, and wanted a place near Cochem. Haus Schwarzenberg fit the bill. Not only reasonably priced, the hosts were very nice and helpful, and the breakfast buffet (included with the bill) gave us one of the best breakfasts we had while in Germany! Less than 5 minutes by car from Cochem. We would definitely stay again if in the area.

Review 67:We enjoy the friendly family atmosphere with a fine breakfast to start the day - then in the evening an excellent meal served with generous measures of Mosel wine! We are already planning our next trip.

Review 68:The pillows could be a firmer and the linens could be "crisper".

Review 69:The location along the Mosel was perfect for an overnight stop on a three-day bike trip. Having dinner at the inn was ideal. The food was heartyand the setting was lovely. Not having to hunt for dining at the end ofthe day was very helpful. My room was small, but quiet and clean. Iwould recommend it to others.

Review 70:Brilliant - what a lovely, friendly couple - couldn't do enough for us. Lovely location, absolutely delicious food, nice spacious room - even a garage for the motorcycle! Highly recommended and will certainly stay again on our next bike tour!

Review 71:The hotel was bare bones and the bathroom was very small but acceptable for a short stay. The "big town" of Cochem rolled up its sidewalks at 6:00pm so don't plan on much to do after that. Oh yeah....be aware of the parking meters in town... we rec'd a 5 Euro ticket for not feeding the meter however the police station was happy to take our ticket payment so we are not wanted in Ernst Germany!

Review 72:The owners, Michael and Marta were wonderful. Michael did a great job of giving us information about the area and things to see and do. Marta was so kind to do a load of laundry for us! The hotel is beautifully sitiated along the Mosele River. Our room faced the river and vineyards for a fantastic view. This hotel was not luxurious but was absolutely fine for a one night stay!

Review 73:It would he helpful if the owners add Wi-Fi.

Review 74:Per our request, our room was off the main road in front of the hotel and, when windows were closed, we experienced no outside noise. The bed was very comfortable. Michael (owner) was very helpful in planning a day's drive in the vicinity of Cochem and knew the history (and authenticity) of the various castles along the Moselle. The breakfast prepared by Marta was excellent. The room was very clean and seemed to have been renovated recently. Location is a few minutes' drive from Cochem, away from the noise and high prices in the city center.

Review 75:Very friendly family-run pension; very helpful with tips and informationon local area - gave us maps and tourist info, etc. Fantastic food -amazing breakfast spread and tasty and nutritious evening meal - homecooking! Across the road from the beautiful Moselle River and extensivewalking paths.

Review 76:Michael and Martha were very gracious and helpful hosts who made our stay very enjoyable. Michael gave us very good information about places to visit. The breakfast was excellent as were the two evening meals we had in the restaurant.

Review 77:As the hotel is on a main road, some traffic noise can be heard.

Review 78:The owners (Michael and Marta) were very friendly and spoke very good english, and upon arrival Michael helped carry our luggage from the car which was parked across the road. The food was very good, and home made, and a copy of the menu was also emailed to us a week before our journey, which was very thoughtful. A great stay.

Review 79:Friendly and welcoming. Owners immediately put us at ease and showed us to the room and offered us a drink after a long daybtraveling. Excellent home cooked food and a fantastic breakfast buffet. Highly recommended.
