Reviews for Hotel Rheinlust
Review 1:Staffs should have a clearly tourist information such as boat timetable, train, market, attractions.
Review 2:This small pretty town is a great getaway for those who like being surrounded with warm and quiet environment.
Review 3:The pillows felt like bean bags
Review 4:Nice location, staff were quite friendly especially the receptionist, the rooms were cool even during a heat wave and Wifi was good
Review 5:Street noise was a little rough but eventually dimmed to a dull roar
Review 6:Better than expected. Family room was huge and easily accommodated our family of four.
Review 7:Very congested with traffic and coaches when we arrived - mid afternoon. Very difficult to park. No problem after 6 pm
Review 8:Very interesting just watching the the action on the Rhine
Review 9:The buffet breakfast was not overall of a high quality.
Review 10:We stayed in the main hotel building and found the location and views of the Rhine river very good as we had a room with balcony and river view. The hotel facilities were good and staff members were pleasant.
Review 11:The lift and entrance to the annex was through the car park so it meant going outside to go to hotel for breakfast. Could be a slight problem if tipping with rain.
Review 12:We had a very nice, huge room in the annex overlooking the river. The location was excellent with plenty of river trips leaving close by and lots of eating places also very close.
Review 13:Shabby without being chic, the main building is in need of major update, annex appears much worse. Staff are not welcoming and system of table allocation at breakfast is laughably archaic.
Review 14:Location in town on river side is excellent. Breakfast is acceptable but won't wow you.
Review 15:Would be nice to have lighter meal options in the evening as we don't eat full meals before travelling the next day
Review 16:Comfort of room View of Rhine Smoking available on balcony and in bar Friendll staff Great breakfast
Review 17:Great location to explore the Rhine by boat, many options available. The hotel itself was quite comfortable and met the needs of the wheelchair user in our group. Nice restaurant if the weather is inclement. Would recommend the back road across to the Mosel if you can handle narrow winding roads.
Review 18:Good location and well run hotel. Not the most modern but still very comfortable. Staff are very helpful and there is a smoking area in the bar which is a bonus for us smokers who are usually marginalized.
Review 19:Separated from the main body of the hotel where the dining areas were.
Review 20:Ideally situated for the river ferries and town. Adequate room but in need of refurbishment.
Review 21:no view arrived and given wrong room had booked told didnt have room id booked then after i had to complain was given a double room the price not good with no view
Review 22:it was clean freindly breakfast staff
Review 23:Beds were virtually camp beds - I had to Sleep in a chair on the first night as my mattress was just a piece of 3" foam, had 2 of them for the rest of break - I find that totally unacceptable for ANY hotel, nobody pays for weekend break to not sleep and wake up totally knackered, that apart it's is good hotel!
Review 24:Very pleasent staff. Very clean Great postion
Review 25:Old fashion decor in the communal area, makes it look much shabbier than it is. Bar, reception and dining room are dark and dated.
Review 26:-our room modern and comfortable with the balcony and the beautiful view. - the buffet for breakfast and evening meals - Friendly staff
Review 27:No bath and didn't like the wet room arrangement in the bathroom.
Review 28:Great river view and nice big room. Great location and close to nice restaurants and bars.
Review 29:Train noise. It's a lot of noise. Cannot keep windows open and once closed seems like a chamber. I had lots of bug bites.
Review 30:Location is good if travelling by car.
Review 31:No air conditioning in the rooms and it was very humid.
Review 32:Great location on the banks of the Rhine, the hotel is very close to the town of Boppard with charming shops and cafes. Plenty of walks along the river with places to eat or have a drink and watch the river traffic.
Review 33:Nothing to dislike.
Review 34:Fantastic breakfast. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Large free walled carpark a few mins up the road. Situated on the river front near to the market place & conveniently opposite the small car ferry.
Review 35:We stayed at the rheinlust for one night whilst touring on our motor bike, found the staff helpful, allowing us to pack our motor bike in the garage. We had a comfortable room with balcony looking out on to the Rhein. Good breakfast available from 7am, which is a plus when touring.
Review 36:Very run down - could do with refurbishment
Review 37:Room was very good. Wifi ok
Review 38:Location on the river was terrific.
Review 39:Pillows and mattresses were too soft - would have liked them to be firmer.
Review 40:Breakfast; location right on the river (beautiful!); short walk to town.
Review 41:Nothing at all for the hotel
Review 42:No comfortable beds , non helpful staff , poorly design rooms,
Review 43:Very nice Hotel with fabulous views
Review 44:Full of school children
Review 45:Staff was not always at reception.
Review 46:Location is close to train station with a view of the Rhine. Staff was not always at reception.
Review 47:Location
Review 48:Nothing
Review 49:Views over the Rhein
Review 50:Everything
Review 51:Twin bedroom had headboards that could cause injury. Small complaint in otherwise excellent experience, at the price.
Review 52:Basic but very clean.
Review 53:Terrible kitchen, interior awfully furnished and decorated.
Review 54:Staff friendly, room spacious.
Review 55:smoking in the bar cannot belleve it, breakfast a bit poor
Review 56:Trains at night
Review 57:Overlooking the river
Review 58:Old-fashioned room, shabby mattress and pillow, non-quality food for breakfast.
Review 59:fair bit of train noise.having seen other hotels in boppard, perhaps a little overpriced
Review 60:helpful staff, clean, good breakfast
Review 61:Old building poorly mantained, poor quality of all supplies (soap, towels, anything), small bathroom
Review 62:The view
Review 63:Loved it.
Review 64:Great location. Nice that they had Air Conditioning. Very nice staff.
Review 65:The rooms and furniture are very basic
Review 66:The carvery was excellent And the Karaoke.
Review 67:Imposinle to open windows at the room
Review 68:Good location
Review 69:Badezimmer
Review 70:Place NeXT to the Rhein
Review 71:Loved having a balcony overlooking the Rhine, but it could use a littleupdating. The music from the bar or lounge was extremely loud - we couldhear it in our first floor room until after midnight.
Review 72:Hotel faces the Rhine and is within walking distance of Boppard'sshopping/entertainment areas. Restaurant for dinner was nice;breakfast buffet was excellent. Room was very clean and comfortable andspacious by German hotel standards. Would stay here again.
Review 73:Parking nightmare :-O If you get a spot don't move :) I had a blazing argument with a German family regarding my parking spot. They didn't grasp my German translation of First up best dressed :) Seriously no negatives apart from the parking but all of Boppard is tight unless you park a little out of the town centre. Good luck :)
Review 74:Nice Hotel, perfect location a little overpriced for what you get, but so where most of the hotels in Boppard. Overall good and I would probably stop there again.
Review 75:Boppard is popular with young teen groups, college kids, and retiredtourists. Quite a mix. Our hotel accommodates bus tours and they werevery loud throughout the night, although no fault of the hotel. Despitebeing July, the weather was pleasant so our windows were open. No bugsfrom the river as anticipated but it was very loud and I am not a lightsleeper, having slept through an earthquake and crying infants. I waswoken up every few hours both nights we stayed there.
Review 76:We are a family of 4 - 2 boys ages 13 and 7 and stayed in a quad room inJuly 2013. This hotel is larger than you think with an adjacent buildingincluded next to the photo with the beautiful window flower boxes. Ourroom faced the courtyard and you could see the Rhine if you looked tothe right. If you are a light sleeper, do not stay in a front room. Thetrain is extremely loud and runs all night long. Compared to the trainnoise, we didn't notice the boat traffic despite being across thestreet from many docks. Our room was large, basic and comfortable. Nofrills but did have a large tub/shower, beds that were placedslightly away from each other taking advantage of the room's unusualshape and adding a bit of privacy. Beds were firm and pillows soft. Nowifi except in the lobby. The restaurant was decent and the waiter spokeEnglish although he wasn't very friendly. The front reception washelpful and courteous with basic working English.
Review 77:Parking very limited we were lucky and parked just outside Hotel but could be a problem when busy.
Review 78:The Hotel was clean, comfortable and the staff friendly and helpfull. Our room was at the front it had a small balcony and over looked the Rhine. We had a lovely meal in the Hotel resturant one evening.
Review 79:It's an older hotel and needs a bit of freshing up but a great location.
Review 80:The bedroom was very spaceious and the bed very comfortable, the terrerace overlooking the river was great. breakfeast ok and staff ok.
Review 81:A tired hotel looking a bit past its best and somewhat expensive for a rather basic room, I have stopped at other hotels with much better rooms for the same price.
Review 82:Good location next to the rhine. large hotel. nice helpful staff. Boppard is a nice small town with character.
Review 83:The rooms were not upto the mark and rooms with the same price were better. There is a lot to improve in that aspect.
Review 84:The location & the room view was awesome and the freindly staff made it easier. Good food and good breakfast.
Review 85:Great location on the Rhine Promenade. This was only an overnight stop,5 miles from the motorway; a loveley town to stroll around. Hotel bedswere comfortable, good breakfast.
Review 86:Very dated interior - throw back to the seventies
Review 87:Excellent Staff Restaurant good value Got what you paid for Rooms basic but clean Im sure in the summer it would be lovely nice views of the Rhine
Review 88:Overpriced water and just wanted plain water not special water.
Review 89:Location was very good with access to river and playground and town centre Welcoming of children and accommodating them
Review 90:Wonderful location. Sebastian, receptionist/waitress, was veryfriendly, diligent and made us feel very comfortable. The best customerservice of our 20-day vacation trip to Germany.
Review 91:Evening entertainment was a bit lack-lustre. Young girl on receptiondesk was most unhelpful to the point of being rude and aggressive.Dining area rather lacking in atmosphere.
Review 92:Rooms and bathroom were spotless. Food was good value, fresh andplentiful. View of the Rhine was excellent. English waitress wascharming, as was the manageress on duty.
Review 93:I travelled here with my family and two other families on 29/12/12 intotal there were 6 adults and 8 children ,, we paid 118 euros per familyper room for one night b&b .... In my opinion this should be rated as a2 star hotel and should state that this is mainly used for coachexcursions rather then family holidays , The hotel is dated and is inneed of a total refurbishment., We were put in a section of the hotelwhere it was very old, one of our rooms did not have a bath or showerrooms 95 , 96 just a sink... There were holes in some of the beddingwhere it had been washed so many times...and stains on the carpets ,,,When we expressed our feeling to the hotel staff at reception we weretold if we wanted to leave we could,, Which is totally unreasonable.. Wehad 8 children under 11 years old and this was 9pm at night !!! sounhelpful.. We asked to change rooms but they didnt have any ,,, whetherthe main part of the hotel is any better I do not know , but I would notrecommend this hotel to anybody ...
Review 94:The front desk staff was somewhat surly and definitely not helpful. (The woman in the Breakfast Room was amazingly helpful, though)
Review 95:Absolutely loved having a balcony overlooking the Rhine River (which was immediately across from the hotel)
Review 96:Free car park small difficult to get space especially when tour buses parks in the center of it !! Local (pay ) car parking a long walk away. Noise travels up main staircase ( no doors) . Teenage school group ( British of course) painfully noisy. Disturbed twice by teachers knocking on our door by mistake to impost their curfew .
Review 97:Location . Room warm ,very clean, good facilities also had large covered balcony with outdoor table & chairs giving wonderful view of Rhine and passing river traffic. Good buffet breakfast 7 until 10 am and no hassle. Evening meal four course buffet . Alternative waiter service menu in other room good value.
Review 98:Thr hotel did not have any Air conditioning , in the hottest part of the year( 34 to 38 Drgrees). Please note this spoilt out Holiday As tI had to ask for a MOBILE FAN) which helped a little.
Review 99:Parking lot near the hotel were fully parked by car. We had to parked 500m far from hotel. But it was slightly difficult to found without map. Next to the hotel was under construction. The construction was start from early morning and we had to shut the curtain all the time.
Review 100:Breakfast was really good. The room was clean and confortable.
Review 101:Construction was right in next building over, unsightly. Once this is done, it will be alot nicer.
Review 102:The location was wonderful--right at the edge of the Rhine, but not at the center of the line of hotels there--it felt snuggled off to the side, which made it nice and quiet, serene feeling. The rooms were good size and clean, bed comfortable, hotel staff nice. Breakfast good, buffet style.
Review 103:Travelling as a family of 5 which required two rooms. We were givenrooms next to each other, rooms were clean and staff were very friendlyand helpful. We also had a balcony with our rooms which faced on theRhine River, that was great. Breakfast was included in room price andwas very good with a large variety.
Review 104:The matresses were very thin, and the rooms were in need of arenovation. The Hotel is ok walking distance (~600 yards) from the trainstation, but the Google map function did not work properly and sent usin the wrong direction.
Review 105:We reserved a Quad room. We were pleasantly suprised. We actually got a3 room suite. The kids loved having there own rooms. We had twobalcononies overlooking the Rhine. We had our dinner out on the balcony, and it was awesome. The location is great!
Review 106:The beds were a bit old, but we slept well anyway. Bring earplugs duringEuropean soccer season!
Review 107:The staff went out of their way to accommodate our family of five. Theyupgraded us from two separate rooms to a private suite of three rooms, with two that had balconies overlooking the Rhein River, And theycharged us half the originl rate! The place was old, but clean andcharming. A full buffet breakfast was included in the price. This is theplace to stay if you want to cruise the Rhein, as the dock is in frontof the hotel. We were able to use their parking lot and hop on thecruise before checking in. Very happy with this choice.
Review 108:Nice staff and we had good rooms overlooking the Rhine. Restaurant was excellent in terms of service, food, and value. They reserved a parking space for us per my request which is often not something that is done.
Review 109:Lighting in the room was poor – but this isn’t uncommon, and be prepared to carry bags up flights of steps both to check in and then to get to your room.
Review 110:It’s quite difficult to give an opinion on this hotel. Although my first impressions weren’t good as I walked past a building site to the hotel, and I had a few problems during check-in, the bottom line is that the hotel is in a great situation and can offer bargain priced rooms overlooking the river Rhine as it flows through one of the most attractive stretches. The establishment is both a hotel and guest house combined, and appears to specialise in tour groups. As a result the hotel staff seemed quite vague about how long it might take to get to the train station (it’s just over 0.5km), and the best route. The arrival of a big tour group around 9pm meant it took quite a while for the hotel to settle down for the night, but the noise problem was offset by the spectacular location. Wi-fi only seemed to work in certain parts, but the breakfast included a wide range of items, although perhaps not of premium quality.
Review 111:Breakfast time ended far too early for a Sunday, and even half an hour before this there was very little food left and no replacement food available.
Review 112:Brilliant public rooms, excellent dinner, helpful waiters, procimity to the Rhine.
Review 113:Excellent location. We had two rooms and each had a balcony overlookingthe Rhein. Best part was the 24hr bar! Great base for exploring theRhein valley.
Review 114:Very nice and friendly staff. We stayed in a very comfortable and cleandouble room with a view on castle. Nice breakfast. Free parking. But bereday to walk on a steep slope.
Review 115:Looked out on the Rhine and close to most things you would want in Boppard. Staff were very helpful.
Review 116:Reception and dining area was a bit dated.
Review 117:View from balcony.
Review 118:The lock on the Room Door
Review 119:Plentiful for Breakfast Easy access to river sailings
Review 120:nothing
Review 121:view food everything
Review 122:Riverside location, in town for shops and bars. Handy for Autobahn connection.
Review 123:The comfort of chairs inside was not good. The beds could be better.
Review 124:The hotel has an excellent view on the Rhine. It is very quiet.
Review 125:place
Review 126:wireline internet isn't
Review 127:Kitchen is too old-fashioned. Too much meat, not enough vegetables
