Reviews for Hotel Costa Real

Review 1:We have been here a few times since Costa Real was built. Nothing seems to have been renovated. The handbasin had cracks in it. The hair dryer is the old original built into the wall model. Bath had no plug. Internet was so slow. Even tried the business centre to print out our boarding passes and were that frustrated went to the airlines office. Beds are old and squeaky. Pillows are lumpy. The rooms are not very soundproof either. There is no air conditioning - so essential today, and you cannot leave windows open as it is so noisy from traffic, barking dogs, and car alarms all night!!! Our first room we had to finally ask at 2am for a quieter room. It was facing the street and impossible to sleep. The second room was around the back and overlooking the pool. Not much better as you still heard car alarms, and people till 1am below your window still drinking etc and dragging chairs and tables. The staff are not friendly and the restaurant food is terrible. One night had the set menu and there was no pause between courses, even took a half finished cocktail from the table while we were eating and had to call them to bring it back!! Even asked for a tip at breakfast when you served it all yourself. The only friendly person was one of the porters who helped us move room at 2am. Upon checkout they charged us the 19% tax and had to argue the point that we should not be charged that. They finally agreed and refunded the tax. There are only two largish hotels in the centre. Costa Real and Francisco de Aguirre which we will definitely go to next time. Only reason we did not book Francisco de Aguirre was that last time they were renovating - sorry we didn't check that out first.

Review 2:Location as long as you do not want to go to the beach daily

Review 3:Hotel tracicional renovado

Review 4:Never got my wake-up call. Wifi was sometimes sketchy.

Review 5:Comfy bed.

Review 6:I love the wonderful mix of old charm with modern comfort. Very professional staff, and now several of them speak English too.
