Review 1：Upon check out, we were hit with !!! HIDDEN FEES !!! We had two rooms, the double bed room with a crib had a 74.50Euro fee EACH day which was labelled "Additional Effort" and the single bedroom had a "Additional Effort" 42.50Euro fee EACH day. Not sure what it was for as breakfast and dinner were free. We speculated it was cleaning fees, but we were not messy, just basic bed making and towel exchange. (These were not drink expenses.) Worse part was, we didn't question fees as baby started crying at check out and focus moved to baby. Also, rooms were nice when you first walk in, then when you go to lay down, the bedding is short on all sides. The bed is a queen (or double) and the bedding and 1 pillow were meant for a twin. I almost feel bad writing this part because the hotel is AMAZING, but no one likes feeling they are getting a deal and then get hit with hidden fees. If these fees were just factored into the price, I would have still stayed here.

Review 2：Views, Views, Views. If you are looking for serenity and nostalgia of Christmastime, this is it. The hotel was a upscale cabin meets luxury with excellent service. We walked around the Eibsee Lake and took the gondola up the Zugspitze and with views to die for in every direction, what more could you need? Breakfast and dinner were excellent and included in the price, minus drinks. Family of 6, two rooms, parents with 3 young kids, age 5, 6 and baby and grandma. Grandma had her own room with views of the lake and we had views of the mountainside. Hard to determine which views were better. For the kids, they had a KinderKino that played movies in ENGLISH. Great place for the kids to wind down before bedtime.

Review 4：I love this hotel's comfortable bed and beautiful view. Also I want to know you the best staff who is Zen Petersen. He looks young but does his work hard and very professionally as a hotelier. I've never seen such a nice hotel staff in Germany.

Review 6：beautiful location right on the edge of Eibsee lake which although is a tourist hot spot is very quiet and peaceful and the hotel has its own private jetty and beach making it feel even more remote. The hotel is in an excellant location being a 2 minute walk from the cable car that takes you to the of Zugspiste the tallest mountain in Germany, definitely worth a visit but go early to avoid long queues and the hotel will organise your tickets to save additional queues. The hotel is also a few minutes walk from the train and bus stop that takes you all the way to Garmisch and stops at a few different cable cars on route all of which have beautiful walks and some easy family friendly routes too, you will be given a card that allows you to use this facility for free, well worth it to save you taking the car out. The food in the hotel is not amazing but it is good and the half board menu is excellant especially for the price. The extras in the hotel like the mini bar and babysitting are all really reasonable and not tourist rip offs like you so often find. The hotel staff are excellant, extremely efficient and very friendly nothing was to much and they are very accommodating and friendly to children. We will definatley be going back and I would reccomend to anyone looking for a holiday in Bavaria.

Review 8：Once moved into an updated room - Mountain view was an amazing stay. Facilities and staff were excellent. Location and view were great. Our short time stay left me looking forward to return to enjoy more of the outdoor activities available.

Review 9：The hotel is very old and housekeeping is very bad. They assigned me the worst lake view rooms and forest view rooms although I paid the highest rate. I raised the problem with the front manager and the reply was the hotel is fully booked and can not replace the rooms. Finally he offered minor discount which is not by any mean a good compensation for the low quality rooms.

Review 10：The location is quite and relaxing. Breakfast is relatively good.

Review 11：- reception not very friendly, we got two of our rooms first at 16:00 and the argument was the check in is from 15:00 which does not mean that we get the rooms definetly at 15:00. First time ever heard such an argument! The staff in restaurants & bar pay no attention to guests! Food in the restaurant is very average. The WiFi on the second floor does not work properly. The hotel and rooms are not renovated for long time, so the rooms and specialy bathrooms look very old fashioned!

Review 15：The only thing I can find fault with was the evening meal from the a la carte menu. I did not enjoy my choice, which was the fish. My husband had lamb which was very nice. The dessert was not as described on the menu and a little disappointing.

Review 16：Location is why we chose this hotel when we visited the area last summer. We wanted to see in the winter and weren't disappointed. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room and the lake view was excellent. The free bus pass for the area is useful too.

Review 19：The Wifi was not fast and that was during a period when only 15 rooms of the hotel were occupied. I can imagine that during peak periods, this would be an issue for those who rely on this service.

Review 20：The location is stunning. We were out of season so the hotel was fairly empty (there was a certain feeling of "The Shining" in the long empty hallways, but staff and service were pleasant and when the sun came up - wow!

Review 27：We had visited Eibsee over 20 years ago and had always said that we would return. We were not disappointed. Stayed 2 days. The view was fantastic. Eating out on the deck was enchanting and peaceful, and the lake was like glass early in the morning and evening. We enjoyed the food - set menu one day and a la carte the next day. Choice of food for breakfast was also good setting us up for the day's activities around the area.

Review 28：Only one item. Since I still work full time it was necessary for me to have frequent internet connectivity. In my room the signal were Very weak and often unusable. That meant having to go to the lobby to have reliable internet. Of course, there was beer in the lobby which made using the WiFi there OK!

Review 54：No public transportation between hotel and the town of Garmisch after 8pm, so if you want to go there it's a $40 cab ride each way! Either that or eat at the hotel restaurant which is fine but not great.

Review 55：The Eibsee lake is BEAUTIFUL, and so are the hotel and all its appointments. The room was lovely, the bathroom nice, the breakfasts were great, the staff very helpful, and the little marina was really great--for renting paddle boats or swimming or having a snack.

Review 56：Our three days here were wonderful. We used to vacation here when I was a child and my dad was stationed in France. So many years later, and it is still as beautiful as ever. Great views, great food, very nice staff...We hope to come back again very soon.

Review 57：Our experience was superb, however I can imagine that in the summer months it would be very difficult to get to - on the basis that half of Munich would descend into the area, and the only access is via a long single road - I can imagine long queues!!

Review 61：There was a man working in restaurant who was training a new waiter. I felt that he was very rude when both interacting with guests and while training the new guy. For one, he completely ignored me and would only address my girlfriend at the table. Not only is that improper restaraunt educate because the man should be confronted, I don't like staff flirting with my girlfriend. She felt the same way about it.. Unwanted attention from him. Also, the new waiter brought me wine with no glass. The guy training him brought him back to our table and made him feel stupid in front of us. My girlfriend and I both felt very awkward while that was going on.

Review 66：The hotel can be reached via the Zugspitzebahn, bus or taxi from the Garmisch train station. This is a lovely place, although next time we would get a room with the water view and stay longer. Scenery is spectacular, staff at the hotel the best- had a fabulous meal and evening in the restaurant our group adored the gentleman from Hungary who waited on us and made us feel to home, the young lady working the bar was quite delightful too- exceptional hospitality!

Review 67：The hotel is located in a beautiful spot, below the highest mountain in Germany. It was used by the US military at the end of WWII. In addition to the lake, there is an indoor swimming pool. We would like to return here for a family reunion as there are enough activities in the area for all ages.
