Reviews for Ellenzer Goldbäumchen

Review 1:I didn't like that there was no in-room internet, and even lobby internet was not reliable. Also, parking was difficult to find at times. There was a funky smell to the room as well.

Review 2:I liked the price considering everything.

Review 3:bones getting too old or mattresses too thin, perhaps a combination of both!

Review 4:Nice location on Mosel River. Good food and excellent hosts. Good value for the cost. Fantastic breakfast buffet.

Review 5:Hotel was fully booked & not enough staff for breakfast time on Sunday morning. Breakfast was not filled up as quickly as it should have been.

Review 6:Great to have free transport to come into Cochen. Very friendly & helpful staff.

Review 7:The hotel was very 'traditional' and I found it a bit dark and oppressive. However the staff brightened it up a lot.

Review 8:The hotel was quite quirky and the staff were friendly and funny.

Review 9:Personal in the restaurant and bar, no haredryer in all rooms. Very narrow bath room, hardly enough space to sit on the toilet.

Review 10:Breakfast, personal at reception

Review 11:Room was very basic (no fridge, no hairdryer) and had worn-out furniture. The bathroom was a separate though private room next door. It would have been ok for a really cheap hotel, but we paid 80 EUR/night.. The waiter in the restaurant gave us a strange look when we asked for a menu at 9.30 pm, we did not understand this arrogance. If the kitchen was closing down, he could have politely explained.

Review 12:Good location, parking next to the hotel, nice staff at the reception.

Review 13:The waitress, very rude. No internet on the room whatsoever and verylimited connection on the public areas! Shower very small. No singlechannel in English, all channels are in German only (although this isvery common all across Germany)

Review 14:The staff in general was friendly and helpful, except for the waitress. The location is also good although you need to go to another village ifyou want to go out (but all other villages are very close). The room wasalso good. Breakfast was decent.

Review 15:The description of the room (superior double) suggested something smarter than it turned out to be. The bathroom, though spacious, was very old-fashioned. The worst aspect was the noise from traffic - be aware that the hotel is on the main road, and we were woken at 6.15 by the noise.

Review 16:Free parking. Friendly staff. A good choice for an overnight stay. Wonderful view of the river and hills.

Review 17:Wifi good but would be better if avaiable upstairs in bedrooms too

Review 18:1) Upgraded from room at back to private tower room with brand new bed and 3 windows overlooking river. 2) Nice to have drinks and restaurant onsite if required. 3) Great to have a lift to access upstairs

Review 19:Smell in the lobby when we arrived. Was better the next morning. Windows in room on back side couldn't be opened due to smell from ground below. Don't know if the two were related. Mattress was lumpy but surprisingly I slept ok. Wifi only works in lobby.

Review 20:Location was easy to find and river view was peaceful Great breakfast!

Review 21:Only complaints was wifi was only available in the lobby and I went at a bad time of year when it was a ghost town. But id take that any day over a far more serious complaint!

Review 22:Cute little quiet town with much to see and no kids really any where to be seen. Not that kids are a bad thing; there just simply was no stereotypical enfant screaming or kids shouting while u were trying to relax. Id highly recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing get a way in wine country.

Review 23:The rooms, being very old, are not exactly well distributed. Bathroom is small, and the way to your room may be long. We found our bed too soft and kind of noisy.

Review 24:Location is excellent for Walking around and getting to know the village and enjoy the Mosel, and the staff is very friendly. The Restaurant is also good and with reasonable Prices. The General cleaningness is remarcable.

Review 25:Décor a bit tired

Review 26:On the banks of the Moselle Nice evening meal

Review 27:Definitely needs a refurbishment and new look, furniture old and not matching, bathrooms soggy.

Review 28:No elevator. Run down.

Review 42:Everything

Review 43:It is impossible to sum up how bad this hotel was in just 300 words. The keywords are: Very unfresh and dirty. Poor breakfast. Staff uniterested and not serviceminded. The rooms and corridors could fit in a horrormovie. You have an exellent location. Make something out of it!!!
