Reviews for Design Hotel Jewel Prague

Review 1:This is not a hotel, but is rather a small block of 11 rooms. There is no lobby. There is no elevator - our room was on the third floor (a converted attic) and it takes quite a walk to get there. The room is very small. Try to get rooms on the first or second floors - I think they are larger and easier to walk.

Review 2:The location of this boutique small hotel is excellent. It is in the city centre, very close to everything. The staff is very helpful. Breakfast was really amazing with a very delicious a la carte menu, which is included in the room rate. The room was very renovated, clean and quiet. However, I am not sure how they get 4**** as this is essentially not a hotel, but an apartment block.

Review 3:The hotel was elegantly design, the food was excellent and the staff was first class!! I would definitely recommend this to a friend and will book a room there again!

Review 4:If there is a party down in the restaurant, it can be a little bit noisy in your room, but fortunately it hapenned only once during my stay.

Review 5:I liked everything: location in the centre of a city, clean rooms, very attentive staff, wonderful breakfasts and especially small dessert and a card with a story about some Prague's ghost or some legend every evening.

Review 6:Location is perfect! Staff very helpful and polite. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great. It's a cozy and chick hotel. I would definitely go there next time I visit Prague!

Review 7:Everything, Hotel Great, Location Great, Breakfast Best Ever Abroad. Staff Great. Late for breakfast by 2 hours and still got a freshly cooked breakfast.

Review 8:Cant think of anything

Review 9:This was by far the best hotel experience in europe we had in a long time. Manager Tomchi was fab. He took care of us as if we were family. My wife and i share birthdays and he made our stay memorable. Locaton is great too. Just a couple of minutes from the city center. If we ever return to prague. This is where we stay again. A must stay for all going to prague

Review 10:Our room (opal) was perfect but small. Would ask for a bigger room next time it would definitely recommend and would visit again.

Review 11:Staff were outstanding. Breakfast was a feast beautiful decoration Perfect location

Review 12:Room was comfortable, clean and modern with a cozy extra bed. The staff was lovely and the breakfast was delicious. The café bar and restaurant was first rate.

Review 13:The manager toncie could not have been more helpful he had fantastic staff who were a real delight. Great location excellent food will be returning to this beautiful city and this hotel again.

Review 14:Beautiful, clean and comfortable rooms. Amazing customer service, staff went above and beyond to make it a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Central location.

Review 15:We love the location of the hotel and the personalised services. All staff are very nice and friendly, manager emailed before arrival to ask for special services and arrangements. Details like bed time story, tomorrow whether forecast, breakfast was amazing. Stayed here twice, and will for sure stay here again on the next visit to Prague.

Review 16:There's not much on offer at the hotel restaurant for dinner. Teeny tiny single room, not much larger than a closet! And its a steep windy staircase, with no elevator.

Review 17:A convenient hotel in a beautiful city. The staff was very helpful, in every way, full of good recommendations and making me feel at home and safe, even though I was traveling solo. Great breakfast included in the room fee.

Review 18:The Design Jewel is well located in the centre of Prague for all tourist locations. The hotel is very clean and comfortable with an attentive staff taking care of you throughout your stay.

Review 19:Great location. Wonderful staff really. Very beautiful room and clean and comfortable. Loved the design even though it was a small room but bed is very comfortable.

Review 20:Nothing to dislike. All was good.

Review 21:Great Location. Super friendly staff. Nice and comfortable rooms. Was early to check in so waited in the restaurant and got a beer on the house!!!! Would only ever stay here again on my next trip to Prague.

Review 22:- I stayed in a single room and it was extremely claustrophobic - Paid 99 euros per night for such a small room (booked the room more than 5 months before my stay so this was supposed to be an early bird price) and think value/ money was quite low - the heater never worked during the four days I stayed at this hotel and it was cold in the room (I am not a warm weather person for the record) - finally, during first night the AC was turning on in every 3 hours, blowing cold air into a already cold room and waking me up (it was impossible to turn it off or to turn of the timer). I could not sleep at all that night and started coughing the next day. The staff fixed the AC for the next day but the heater never worked.

Review 23:+ breakfast is great +staff was very helpful (both the receptionists and the lady in the breakfast room) +location was great

Review 24:My only slight criticism would be that we stayed in a beautiful room at the front of the hotel and on the Tuesday night between 12-3am we were woken up a number of times by youths outside in a nearby bar, but by keeping the windows closed this wasn't such an issue and it's not the hotels fault at all as they cannot control the noise outside.

Review 25:Stayed here recently for a mid week break with my mum for her 60th birthday. The hotel was central to all attractions, immaculately clean, modern, staff went out of their way to be helpful and the breakfast was far better than you'd usually get for the amount of money paid.

Review 26:I liked everything

Review 27:I liked the staff. they are very helping and caring. location is excellent, rooms are cleaned and the staff makes them up very day. Wifi is strong enough as well.

Review 28:No bad experience at al

Review 29:GREAT HOTEL,EVERYTHING IS SO PERFECT , FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL STUFF,GREAT FOOD,GREAT LOCATION, ROOMS ARE NICE , MODERN AND EXTREMELY CLEAN .YOU WOULD NOT FIND ANYTHING TO DISAPPOINT YOU IN THIS HOTEL !

Review 30:No receptionist available in the middle of the night if you check-in or out very late/early or need assistance for anything at late hours. Room is a bit small for a couple. Hotel facilities - not many - no gym or laundry or spa and etc... It's a really small hotel but in the other hand makes it cozy and they give every guest better attention to every detail.

Review 31:The staff is the best, really helpful and nice always trying to please you, all of them. Excellent that's a 10 definitely! Room is cozy and all is new and beautifully decorated, everyday fresh water and cakes, really special treatment. Even packed us some food to go with our early departure before breakfast time. Location really good 5 mins walking to everywhere In the old city. Surely recommend staying there.

Review 32:The hotel is near shopping, many restaurants and sightseeing areas. It's a small hotel with friendly staff and includes a great complimentary breakfast. You do have to walk up and down stairs, so it wouldn't be a good choice for anyone mobility challenged. We enjoyed our stay and plan to come back again!

Review 33:The only thing I didn't like was having to get on a plane home

Review 34:Very friendly staff, always willing to help with any problems and gave great advice on things to do and restaurants to go to.

Review 35:The room was smaller than I expected, but the location made up for it.

Review 36:The staff were amazing: very courteous and very helpful. And the breakfast was the best I had during my 3 week journey in Europe.

Review 37:The rooms were a little small, but we didn't stay in side too much so it was fine. Although, it was very comfortable and it's got the right touches to it. Having no elevator was kind of a little drag, but this actually gives it charm for staying as I believe was a 13th century building. If you stay on the top level, which is the fourth floor is not going to hurt too much.

Review 38:I like the fact it's well centralized from all the main attractions and places we wanted to visit. The style and design of the rooms were appealing to the eye. The breakfast is very nice and the food were delicious! And not to forget about the staff, they were very attentive to the guest's needs. Also got a great recommendation to venture to a town called Cesky Krumlov. Please do ask and enquire.

Review 39:Perfect location 5 minutes walk to old town square. Staff really went out of their way to make us feel at home and take care of every need. They saved us a parking spot on the street right out front, packed a to-go breakfast when we had to depart really early one morning. The hotel and bar/cafe is swanky and very clean. We stayed in the Pearl room, which was roomy enough for 2 adults and one 11 year old. The room is up 3 flights and there is only a luggage elevator. Helped to keep us fit!

Review 40:Tiny tiny single rooms. I'd recommend getting a double room, even if you are by yourself.

Review 41:Very friendly staff, who were always happy to help. Excellent location with a great bar / restaurant downstairs. Fun and elegant decor.

Review 42:The staff were warm and friendly and quite helpful. They were ready with dining recommendations, directions, and advice for getting around and what to see. The room was comfortable and clean and the location was central to everything. Breakfast was wonderful and they have and excellent restaurant and bar. We definitely want to stay here again.

Review 43:One of the most comfortable and best located hotels we have stayed in. Beautifully decorated rooms, exceptionally friendly staff, an excellent restaurant and a very good breakfast.

Review 44:Minor gripes: * There is no elevator and it's a bit of a climb to the third floor where my room was. There is a luggage elevator which takes you luggage up to the second floor (and the receptionist was very nice and hauled it up to the next one by himself) * The ceiling above the bed is slanted, so that if you're not careful you might bump your head (but it's not likely)

Review 45:The room was gorgeous, well equipped with every little thing that you might need and the A/C worked great (not to be taken for granted in Prague!) The staff were very nice and pleasant. And the breakfast was excellent! All in all I highly recommend this place.

Review 46:Options on the breakfast are very scarce, not even cucumubers or tomatoes or such on the bread or berries or anything like that, so if you are a vegan like I am don't expect to eat your breakfast there (I ate my breakfast elsewhere as there are nice vegan restaurants/cafes in Prague).

Review 47:Very nice hotel. Excellent location in the old town on a not-too-busy street, in a walking distance from many attractions. Very friendly staff. The room was tiny but that didn't bother me, it was beautifully decorated (as was the whole hotel) and I had a nice view from the window. It was very hot outdoors but the hotel room remained cool so the air conditioning worked well.

Review 48:Newly refurbished, good bathroom fitting, great breakfast, location and best was the staff at the reception as well as at the restaurant for breakfast

Review 49:Arrived at midnight, staff was there to assist. Departed at 4 am, before breakfast was offered, owner personally saw to it that a small meal was prepared the night beforeof for my son and myself to take with us.

Review 50:Excellent location, design hotel, extremely nice staff, quality of linens and beds, à la carte delicious breakfast. An excellent choiçe on all accounts.

Review 51:Some people might be put off that there is no lift...it's an old building, but there is a luggage lift to take the suitcases upstairs. Don't let this put you off booking.

Review 52:Staff are fabulous...attentive and helpful. Rooms are tastefully decorated and there are extra nice touches like organic fruit flavoured water, your bed is turned down and a Czech bedtime story left on your pillow as well as a couple of sweet treats! I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Prague now!

Review 53:No lift, although we were aware when booking. Not suitable for anyone with mobility problems.

Review 54:Great service, Fantastic location, quiet comfortable rooms, good breakfast, almost 5* at 4* prices!

Review 55:... But very small room No desk, vey few power plugs A little bit noisy

Review 56:Cosy and classy room ... Excellent location, right in the historic center of Prague

Review 57:No coffee facilities in the room but the hotel also has a bar so drinks could be bought there.

Review 58:Nice rooms which are quiet, even in this central location. Lovely details eg little cakes every night, short story which changed every day. Delicious breakfast.

Review 59:ALL! Everything is super! Great location, great service, exellent breakfast! Specials thanks for birthday cake and flowers! Все! Все было супер! Супер расположение, прекрасный сервис, отличные завтраки! Отдельное спасибо за цветы и тортик,подаренные на день рождения

Review 60:Bed located against wall could be annoying if getting up at night. Ask for a room not on the stair well, can be noisy.

Review 61:Hotel located perfectly close to all the sights. Plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. Staff were very friendly staff and happy to offer any advice if needed. Nice breakfast, a choice of a la carte or buffet if wanted.

Review 62:The location was perfect for exploring Prague, the staff was helpful and for instance gave very good recommendations on restaurants nearby. Rooms were comfortable - even the third bed was comfortable - and the bathroom was really nice and modern. In addition, the special "treats" were a wonderful surprise.

Review 63:Coming from the UK, It's weird having a smoking section to the restaurant and there were a lot of people smoking on Saturday night so , even though the smoking section is in a separate area, if you are sensitive you will need to choose a table as far away as possible

Review 64:Loved the location and the intimacy of the staff. Only 10 or 11 rooms so was lovely and quiet during night but bar and restaurant were buzzing Friday and Saturday night giving great atmosphere. Rooms comfortable and well appointed. Funky chic. Great food In the restaurant

Review 65:Warm atmosphere. Very attentive and friendly staff (starting from receptionist until cleaning lady). A lot of small details to feel better. Great location. Very good breakfast.

Review 66:Nothing

Review 67:The breakfast was excellent. The staff were very friendly. The location was great. There were some great extra touches like the chocolates every day. Highly recommended!

Review 68:The staff were really helpful, always somebody at reception to give advice. Breakfasts were lovely. Our room was small but perfectly formed. Please be aware there is not a lift... this was not a problem for us, however, if you struggle with stairs it may be!!

Review 69:Nothing to complain about !

Review 70:Location is great within the historical center. Staff very friendly and helpful. Beds so comfortable that I took the references to buy the same for my house. Excellent breakfast with fresh products. Perfect overall, 10/10

Review 71:Our experience at the Jewel hotel in Prague was amazing. We stayed over Christmas and felt really welcome and special. The staff were top notch and tended to every request or query we had. Such a great place

Review 72:My stay at Hotel U Klenotníka (Jewel Hotel) has been truly pleasant. Property is managed with attention to details and savoir faire towards guests. I recommend this design hotel for its perfect position downtown, the quality of rooms, perfect wifi and delicious homemade breakfast assortment!

Review 73:The single room was really small (as is pretty common in Europe...)

Review 74:Staff, location, amenities, all the little touches in the room (bathrobe, sweets, water...). A very good bar/cafe/ restaurant downstairs.

Review 75:Room size is small but nonetheless comfortable.

Review 76:Their service is just brilliant. They really look after their guests. I was taking an early morning train and they packed breakfast for me one night before.

Review 77:Slight bit of outside noise at night with the windows open but didn't disturb our sleep and goes hand in hand with a central location in a capital city. Stairs were not a problem to us (as the small lift is for luggage only) but if you've got real mobility issues then you may struggle. We saw this as a plus as it added to the character of the place.

Review 78:Just returned from a three night stay at the Design Hotel Jewel and cant say enough good things about this place. Lovely boutique hotel with lots of little touches that made all the difference to our stay. I wont name them so as not to give away those little surprises. Great staff, lovely food and amazing Czech wine (which I was not expecting!) I highly recommend to anyone looking for quality but on a more intimate scale. If you're even considering this place don't hesitate to book. I've travelled far and wide and not stayed in many better hotels regardless of size or rating. We are a couple in our early 40's and enjoyed everything Prague had to offer from museums and boat trips to clubbing with the locals. Can't wait to return to beautiful Praha and Design Hotel Jewel.

Review 79:The Jewel was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at and made our trip to Prague very memorable. We liked that it was not a huge corporate hotel and felt more like a small luxurious bed and breakfast. The location is excellent and we were able to easily walk to Charles bridge, old town square, Jewish quarters and castle district. The rooms are simple but well decorated and very clean. It was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever slept in. The homemade chocolates and brownies that they leave for turndown service were amazing! The staff were all so kind and friendly. They were very accommodating when it came to storing our luggage for night trains. The breakfast was also well prepared. It had a buffet part - breads, meats, cheeses, cereal, yogurt and fruit but also had an a la carte menu you could order off which included eggs, pancakes, and which was included. It was also wonderful to be able to order cappuccinos and lattes for breakfast which was all included. Overall we had an excellent time at the Jewel and would stay again in a heartbeat!

Review 80:Nosy street until midnight Staircase was steep to second floor

Review 81:Service and food were excellent Room was very well equipped and chocolates arrived each evening

Review 82:Historic property does not have an elevator, but a lift is available for luggage.

Review 83:Excellent Breakfast. Both made to order and buffet breakfast options are available. Excellent location very short walk to center of the Old Town, the Metro, and shopping areas. Hotel is a block or two away from the main tourist pedestrian traffic areas which results in a less frantic and more relaxing environment. Rooms are small, but high on comfort and design. Above average service and amenities.

Review 84:Minor gripe - breakfast buffet could have a wider spread. That's it!

Review 85:The staff - all of them were great! The location The decor The food The room

Review 86:Up on the 3rd floor and you can hear the noise from the steeet

Review 87:Modern, comfy beds, but the best surprise was their restaurant. Tapas and a small menu but all well done!

Review 88:Gorgeous hotel in the city center, 5 minutes walk from the main attractions. Very welcoming staff, always ready to help. Delicious breakfasts. Evening tales and cookies :)

Review 89:Everything was perfect. The hotel is at par with 4 star hotels in terms of service and comfort. Breakfast was good and there is a bar perfect for a drink or two after you long day of sightseeing. The service was outstanding and the hotel is situated in a quiet place in the centre, 2 mins walking distance from the clock tower. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there and would recommend this hotel to couple or a family and also to solo traveler like me.

Review 90:Tiny rooms - bed take 60% of it. Desk is another 20% No hallway - you set against the bed upon entrance No draft beer in restaurant - ridiculous for Prague!

Review 91:Location Bed is fantastic

Review 92:Not a problem at all for us, but there's no lift, since it's an old building

Review 93:The location, the cosiness of the hotel, the staff, the breakfast, everything was perfect for the weekend!

Review 94:The room is a bit small.

Review 95:Hotel was clean, old-fashioned and centrally located. I like the manager and other staff. They are all friendly and helpful. Will be back if we come Prague again.

Review 96:Very narrow room

Review 97:The quietness in the centre of Prague, breakfast was excellent, staff was great. Clean rooms, everything was made to make you file like home.

Review 98:Excellent location. Staff very kind and high profile. Comfort of the hotel is pretty good, nice bed linen.

Review 99:Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Excellent boutique hotel with lovely rooms in a good central position in the city.

Review 100:The staff are amazing. The hotel is stunning

Review 101:very small room (single room)

Review 102:Staff, location, breakfast

Review 103:Nothing !

Review 104:Everything !

Review 105:Outdoor noise was coming through into the room and it can be noisy at night.

Review 106:Fabulous location and excellent hotel staff.

Review 107:The staff including Tonci and Helena were simple amazing. They were so kind, warm and professional.

Review 113:Nice room, central position, good breakfast

Review 114:Amazing design, staff, comfort and service. The most pleasurable hotel I've stayed at in years...

Review 115:nothing..

Review 116:Absolutely everything! This is our second visit. This time with another couple. They loved it too.
