Reviews for Hotel Cecile

Review 1:Wi-fi is not working on 3rd floor. Staff doesn't speak English. Room was stinky and full of mosquitoes, whole floor stinks like toilet. very noisy outside

Review 2:Perfect location, very close to leaning tower of Pisa.

Review 3:Lots of noise from the street. Our window was on Via Roma, were we to stay again we would ask for room on the parking lot side.

Review 4:Very comfortable foam mattress. Conveniently located for walking to/from the train station and the leaning tower.

Review 5:Room a little noisy. Just as a curiosity: the wifi password for 1st floor was by far the longest I have ever seen, maybe 40 letters...:) Neither is a deal breaker.

Review 6:Good location, close to the tower (5-7 minutes walking). Convenient for 1-2 night stay, no luxury, but clean, fair price for what you get.

Review 7:The staff was rude, the only person that was speaking english was the morning staff, we ask to change our room because smelled bad and they not only insulted us for asking the change or made they did in Italian and at the same time i was waiting at the reception to finish playing solitaire on the computer..... The only good about that hotel is the location near pisa tower and airport....

Review 8:The room was SO hot. There was a ceiling fan but it was too slow to do a difference. The wifi didn't work in the room. The staff at the hotel were so rude to us.

Review 9:The room was nice and clean. Great location.

Review 10:Although in the description of the Hotel (in Booking.com) has been written that the rooms are air-conditioned and with free WiFi, however our room was not air-conditioned and the WiFi was available only in the reception area.

Review 11:Good location

Review 12:Honestly, wi-fi works only on 1st and maybe 2nd floor; Third floor doesn't have wifi. Moreover, no coffee, tea in the hotel. The bathroom is one by whole third floor.

Review 13:The location is perfect, very kind staff (doesn't speak in English), clean rooms.

Review 14:We had booked for a room with double bed, i reminded that when we arrived. They gave us a room with two single beds, i asked for a room with double, they changed it without complaint, then the second room was again with two single beds. After they tried another room in different floor (without elevator), they finally gave us a triple room. They tried to find a solution but unfortunately the staff did not know about the beds and they did not lead us to the rooms but just gave us the keys for each room. Beside that they were fine. The hotel is old but clean, old joinery, bad soundproofing but not disturbing.

Review 15:very close to pisa tower , in the center of the city, the distances are easily covered by foot. The room was cery clean. The staff was helpfull. Ideal low price choice if you are looking for somewhere to stay in the center of Pisa.

Review 16:It smelled bad... really bad like they had just washed a handful of dirty dogs! Shower and toilets were poor also

Review 17:It's literally 10 min walk from the pisa

Review 18:Place is a bit old. Staff doesn't speak English. We asked for a double bed on the reservation and we had two beds. Bathroom really small but there are a washbasin on the room.

Review 19:Location is great. Comparing prices in Pisa, this wasn't expensive but really just for sleep. Staff are friendly but they just speak Italian.

Review 20:Very bad connection to the internet. Wifi disconnected for a dozen of times. Moreover it was a lot of noise (other guests in the rooms next door and from the street)

Review 21:Very good localization, parking next to the hotel (10 euro). Staff was quite nice and they speak quite good english.

Review 22:Very small shower cabin, poor soundproofing -can actually hear the light switcher of the room next to us! No facilities for disabled people (access to the rooms only by stairs). No breakfast

Review 23:Hotel Cecile is at the perfect location! Less than 4 minutes to Piazza dei Miracoli where the leaning tower of Pisa lies and not more than 5 minutes to the main pedestrian area where smn can find cafe's and restaurants. Very clean also, comfy bed

Review 24:employee didn't speak English, no breakfest service, wifi only in the hallway outside the room

Review 25:good bathroom, good shades, 5 minutes from city centre or the bell tower

Review 26:No breakfast included. We were a bit late at it was 12am we're dressing and preparing to leve and there was this woman - who was going to clean the room - waiting at the door and saying: Come on hurry!!! hahaha

Review 27:When we arrived we're like "Who's this man?!", the recepcionist is an older man who only speaks italian, at the beginning didnt look so fine...but he was actually nice, gave us a map and let us leave our luggage for one day at the recepcion. The room was really big, with a very nice balcony just for the 2 of us. In general it's a really nice room for the price, and it's near to Pisa tower and the bridges.

Review 28:Very rude and unpleasant owner, doesn't speak English at all. The room was dirty, the bathroom was horrible. Don't even think about eating a breakfast here. Disaster.

Review 29:Nothing special in this hotel. The towels are in charge . Toilet is so small that you can barely sit!!Stuff is polite but they dont speak english which is a kind of problem...

Review 30:It is good for a night. It is clean enough and the location is perfect!

Review 31:I have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions. This time I was surprised to be asked to pay in full on arrival. The room allocated to my friend and I was very small. The glass shade on the light was missing .The bidet was broken. We had to stand on the bed to switch the fan on. Not the easiest thing to do as pensioners. I have always enjoyed me stay here but was disappointed on this occasion.

Review 32:The hotel was clean and close to the sites of Pisa, Italy. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was larger than expected and very clean and comfortable. I would stay here again.

Review 33:I worked in Pisa previously and this is the first time travel back for some business and stayed in a hotel. The city tax is not writing when you were booking the hotel (I did not find it in my receipt), but they would ask you when you were there as a extra expense. There was no free towels and free shower gel and shampoo. So do not count your money have this stuffs. The staff really cannot communicate since they really do not understand English.... Nothing to say, but I will really stay there again. Bad place

Review 34:nothing

Review 35:The noise,it's ok to stay max for 2 nights. Beds arent comfortable. Staff doesnt speak english at all.

Review 36:Location and rooms are clean but mine was small.

Review 37:3rd floor without elevator, poor internet, hard access with car without entering restricted zones

Review 38:Location just 7 min walk to the tower of pisa, possibility to park car in the hotel parking for extra 10 euro

Review 39:WiFi is not avalable. You can recieve towels only with additional payment (1,5 euro for each one). There is no lift, but we leaved on the 3rd floor.

Review 40:The location is really good. It`s only 5 minutes by foot to the Piazza Miracole. The room ahd bathroom were clean. There are TV-set and conditioner. We had a room with a balcony. It is silence in the night.

Review 41:The long code for WiFi.

Review 42:The staff were very helpful. The beds were comfortable. We had airconditioning which was brilliant. We had our own bathroom and it was very clean. I would definitely stay here again.

Review 43:Very old building so high ceilings which ment being on the top (3rd) floor was equal to climbing five floors, with no lift. All the plumbing in Italy is suspect (no traps like we have at home) so every where STINKS.

Review 44:The location is great for those visiting the old tourist part of Piza, the tower was a couple of mins walk. Good size room with wash basin, bidet and balcony but had to share bathroom with the other five rooms on-the floor. On sit parking at a price as were towels.

Review 45:No locker to keep our money safe.

Review 46:The bedroom was good. The shared bathroom was no problem. The terrace was good, excellent for in the evening (this is not in every room!). Good room cleaning service.

Review 47:Towels were extra euros!!! (Which is ok for a youth hostel, but not ahotel, I think). For 55 euros a coffee and croissant could be added.

Review 48:Cheap, basic and clean. Friendly reception.

Review 49:Extremely bad hygiene in both (shared) bathroom and rooms. Towels are not free. Not even a soap stick. The rooms are filled with mosquitos. An advertising on each room, where the rules are described, claim not to use the electric connectors for other purposes than saving. Only one bathroom for six rooms. (at least in the third floor). No elevator.

Review 50:Location

Review 51:- Hallways and rooms smelt of burden anti mosquito tablets - Old furnitures - Washbasin out of the bathroom - Rude staff

Review 52:- Close to the pending tower

Review 53:Wi-fi only working at reception and sometimes in hallways. Towels changed only every 2-3 days. Fresh soap and shampoo sachets were not provided on some days.

Review 54:Quite central, quiet and clean.

Review 55:Wifi is made for not working. The internet password has more than 20 letters and half of the time has no signal.

Review 56:Clean, friendly staff and good location.

Review 57:They took the money from my account two days before I got to the hotel without my permission. I found this very strange. The Wifi was very bad.

Review 58:It was close to the Leaning Tower. 15 minute walk from the Train Station.

Review 59:Very well located, close to the Pisa tower.

Review 60:Dodgy place

Review 61:Close to the leaning tower

Review 62:Super part of Pisa, very close to the Tower and shops,Staff very helpful friendly and willing to assist.

Review 63:*Felt like an old dorm room. *You could hear a lot of noise through the walls and from outside.

Review 64:*Good location for visiting the center of Pisa.

Review 65:Spartan room. Offices on other side looking directly into room. Windows didn't shut properly.

Review 66:Great location. Good price for location

Review 67:The staff was totally unfriendly.

Review 68:The location

Review 69:Mosquito infested, noisy hotel, attempted robbery and it was pretty bad.

Review 70:Very central and close to everything.

Review 71:Nice small hotel with a great location. The room was just little bit noisy - bad windows.

Review 72:Wifi

Review 73:Good value hotel. Was pretty clean including shared bathroom.

Review 74:Warm welcome of the receptionist despite his/her english understanding. Limited parking lot (extra 10 €) but so necessary in that area of Pisa.

Review 75:The hotel was really close to the leaning tower and lots of restaurants.

Review 76:no wifi in the room

Review 77:close to Leaning tower

Review 78:conveniently located near the main attractions.

Review 79:bad wifi in the rooms, no air con

Review 80:central, friendly people

Review 81:Some English speaking front desk would help a bit!

Review 82:Location and good Indian restaurant next door!

Review 83:No breakfast.

Review 84:The balcony was nice.

Review 85:No breakfast included

Review 86:The hotel is minutes away from the Leaning Tower, room is cleaned daily, helpful staff

Review 87:Great location, clean.

Review 88:there is no WiFi in rooms

Review 89:Location and there is a Indian restaurant next to it

Review 90:Many moschitoes in the room and in the hotel area.

Review 91:Position of the hotel

Review 92:We stayed at the last floor and the wireless did not work.

Review 93:The hotel is very close to the leaning tower. The room was clean and we had a good stay.

Review 94:Room are not well aerated... smells you have to pay for towels the receptionist only speaks Italian

Review 95:the whole of the hotel, no elevator, no air condition, very hot, very noisy outside.

Review 97:It was clean by had a really strong smell of the incense they use as air freshener

Review 98:Great location and stayed for one night as a stopover so was great for what we needed it for.

Review 99:Shower was too small, couldn't move around at all.

Review 100:Location is perfect between leaning tower, city centre and central train station.

Review 101:The staff hardly spoke any English but it was there attitude that was very disappointing. Not very friendly or very helpful.

Review 102:Hotel stuff could be friendly, in some occasions a bit annoying

Review 103:Nice place Clean and comfortable Good location

Review 104:the hotel had no lift and not all the staff were helpfull the shower was very small

Review 105:the location.the bed was comfortable and clean

Review 106:The staff doesn't speak English just Italian.

Review 107:Quite big room, comfortable bed and clean bathroom.

Review 108:The receptionist mixed up our booking and tried to charge us room twice. He was bit confused... The shower could have been better designed.

Review 109:Located in only a few minutes walk from the leaning tower, clean & comfortable rooms.

Review 110:Out of 3 staffs 2 don't speak English at all and the other speaks a little. Although Wi-Fi is free in public spaces , it's extremely difficult to connect to it firstly they provide you with a wrong password and you need to go to front desk to correct it; secondly connections are intermittent and speed is very slow.

Review 111:They allow you to book for just one night and has a nice terrace in the rooms.

Review 112:staff barely spoke English, no breakfast included in the price

Review 113:perfect location, next to the leaning tower, great value for money, comfortable room, shower, bed, AC

Review 114:The room was somewhat faded, but good location for a day and a half sightseeing.

Review 115:The man was helpful, although English limited. Much better than we expected from reading some of the reviews! the parking was good (paid 10 euros), although there were free spaces nearby, Towels were provided now at no extra charge!

Review 116:Desk clerk did not speak any English at all. Not his problem I guess, but my ignorance right? It is Italy, but in my travels in the last week in the country I began to expect that most customer service people in hotels and restaurants had a functional knowledge of English. So this is a complaint of an "Ugly American." A legit complaint was that the walls were not well insulated for sound, and there was no carpets so you could definitely hear people coughing and doing "other things."

Review 117:Man in the reception did not speak English at all. He was rude and was speaking only about that, that I should pay for a room. He was not able to realize my order properly and give me the room with one bed, when I booked room with two single beds. In room is not glasses and hairdryer and there is only one electrical outlet beside the door.

Review 118:Very small, but clean bathroom.

Review 119:If you don't speak Italian don't worry you will manage. There is no personal that speaks English. Rooms are oke, good location in the center for the old city and the tower

Review 120:No elevator - it was totally awful to go on 3 floor with bags. No washing service

Review 121:Good place for stay one-two nights in Pisa - hotel located in one of the center streets, quiet place, comfortable room

Review 122:Very dirtz, disgusting room, especially the blanket. No towels andliquid soap. The bathroom was smelly and the corridors, as well. Therewere a lot of mosquitos in our room, so after only 1 night I was full ofmosquito pinches. I had the most uncomfortable bed here and it made avery annoying noise even to smooth movements. In addition, the room wasvery noisy, I could hardly sleep because I could hear everything fromthe streets. The toilet was dirty and small. The balcony was way toorusty. And on the top of all these bed things, the receptionist (an oldman) was very unfriendly. Wifi was not working at all. I would never goto the Cecile again. I am a person who always try to look at thepositives, but thinking of that place I can'T. Worst price-valuerate ever. I would rather walk 3 km to the tower from another hotelinstead of staying there again. Although I can say 2 positive things.First, the receptionist woman was very kind and her baby was adorable.Second, thanks god I had to spend in that terrible hotel only 1night!!!!!P.S. They hardly speak English.

Review 123:Only location. Very close to the Leaning Tower and the Dome.

Review 124:Very Dirty.Very Old. Smell of mould. The personal speeks very little English or any other language and is very unfriendly. You have to pay extra for your towels . It was a nightmare!!!!!!

Review 125:Only the location is good.

Review 126:Very high stairs and non-working wi-fi in the room and common space

Review 127:Location is perfect - 5-10 minutes from Duomo and the Tower. Very clean. Really good value for the money.

Review 128:The people taking care of the hotel are very old and they don't speak english. They don't serve coffee.

Review 129:The price is excelent for the services provided. The room is huge - we had a terrace with chairs and table. It is very clean, they changed the towels daily.

Review 130:A little noisy being on the street and other guests coming in late at night/early morning, some items from a previous guest found in our room, although looked clean on the surface, some staff friendlier than others - be warned that leaving your bags requires them to be left in the hall way, slightly concerning re safety of luggage.

Review 131:Excellent location, a short walk to the Leaning Tower, 10 minutes to the train station. Late night check in. Cheap. We arrived late and only stayed a night - to be honest if I was staying longer, I would have wanted to stay elsewhere.
