Reviews for Hotel Längenfelder Hof

Review 1:Nothing.

Review 2:Perfect, quiet location with easy car access to all major attractions around. Staff very friendly and attentive, always with smile. Good breakfast with high quality food and quickly replenished regardless of time. Nice building and rooms, perfectly maintained.

Review 3:The wifi wasn't great but that's the closest thing I can come up with as a complaint.

Review 4:The location just outside of Garmisch was perfect. The local village offered excellent "local" eating options, an unbelievable outdoor swimming facility, and excellent access to lake Eibsee. I was worried that we were too far away from Garmisch but it ended up being perfect as downtown Garmisch was a quick 5 min drive yet we were comfortably away from the tourists tucked up against the amazing mountains.

Review 5:Extra charges for use of sauna. They charge per person and then a fee to heat the sauna.

Review 6:Great view of the Zugspitze. Nice large rooms. Hotel has pool. Close to skiing and hiking.

Review 7:No cooling contingency like a portable room fan for hot afternoons.WiFi was only available in the main building and not in the building our apartment was in.

Review 8:A very resonable apartment rate.

Review 9:Very firm beds which seems to be typical of German guest houses.

Review 10:Great staff and owners, very nice, impressive language capabilities. Great location and views, lots of amenities. Very relaxing.

Review 11:I had the top floor room, and it was very hard taking a shower with no shower curtain (only a bathtub with no curtain), and I couldn't stand fully due to ceiling lopsided, downward angle.

Review 12:great hostess, awesome breakfast, good view, peaceful, and amazing location for Zugspitze

Review 13:Great location, excellent service and superb facilities. Large family rooms with a balcony and superb views of the Zugspitze. Excellent service, breakfast and friendly atmosphere.

Review 14:The description said that one would have to pay for kids who stay in an extra bed. I originally made the reservation for 2 (wife and I) since our kids are very small. Due to some coordination issues, my wife could not take the trip and since this hotel has a very bad cancellation policy, I decide to take the trip, otherwise I would ended up paying for the stay anyways. That said, when I showed up they were displeased that I had my kids with me, and insisted that I should pay for 3 people rather than two, I argued, but it was in vain. After all, I ended paying full price for 2 adults and 1 child, even though that did not make sense to me. They insisted that I had to be charged for three because of the water usage is higher when you have more guest and although I would normally agree with that, I don't think that's the case when you have two very small children. A very unfortunate experience for me after booking this hotel based on the excellent reviews it has and reading the hotel welcome aboard package that states how much they try to make sure you enjoy your stay. Another misleading factor is the wifi, there was absolutely no wifi in the area of the hotel where we stayed, no even a slow signal, absolutely nothing. Another thing is the pool, very nice one, but you have to go to througt the street to get to it if you're not staying on the main building. Very disappointed. Unfortunate because the facility is very nice, staff was very pleasant, location is excellent, it's just a shame that it had to turnout like this in my case. I would definitely not return to this hotel, even though I visit Garmisch several times a year.

Review 15:location of hotel, near many outdoor activities

Review 16:Simply wow! Just can't say enough about how much I enjoyed my stay at L-Hof. This is a fantastic family-owned place to get away from it all...nestled almost next to the mountain and with breathtaking views. The staff was super-friendly and accomodating. Relaxed each night in the super-cozy "fireplace room" where they even have a vintage 1940s German Normende tube radio. The "Wellness Center" with heated pool and sauna is absolutely top-notch, super-clean, and will take all of your stress away. Really enjoyed being located out of the main hustle-bustle of Garmisch-Partenkirchen but able to be there in less than 5 minutes. Plus, Grainau is just next to the Zugspitze and Eibsee.

Review 17:Not briefed well initially on facilities..in part as not many other guest there. Fine print states Wifi and spa convenient in hotel...mear 100 meters from apt..but try that walking on snow and ice. Very slippery, and bit dangerous for old man like me..Maybe summer convenient. Better shoveling and salt might work.

Review 18:Room as advertised. Liked layout, amenities. Clean and comfortable. Total price quote...what I pay...was 74 Euro..what I really paid was 79..?

Review 19:Wireless was not included in the rate.

Review 20:Impressive cleanliness, comfort, breakfast, amazing views from the breakfast room/pool/our 2 bedroom room, high quality of the pool, sauna/massage table/tanning bed amenities. And very friendly service.

Review 21:The hotel sits at the base of the Alps and the views from the backyard are amazing. Very quiet and peaceful location. We had a nice sized balcony with views of the surrounding forest. Clean rooms and very helpful staff. Great breakfast, we would stay here again.

Review 22:Nice staff, clean rooms & a great breakfast. Located right at the base of the mountain. Get a top floor room for the best views. We would definitely stay here again.

Review 23:That we had to leave!! LOL!!

Review 24:The view of the Wetterstein mountain range is outstanding!!! Listening to the bells on the cows, the baby sheep blatting and the birds chirping made me want to stay forever! The beds were very comfortable! The woman who runs the kitchen for breakfast is so wonderful!! She will make your eggs any way you wish, serves them with a smile & some friendly banter. I speak German, so communicating was not an issue with any of the staff. The neighborhood cats even came to greet us each morning!

Review 25:No lift (we were on 2nd floor). No free wifi. Staff German speaking (but not really a problem since they were always willing to help despite the language problem).

Review 26:Beautiful and comfortable hotel set in quite Grainau just a 5-6 mins drive to Garmish centre. Very good base for visiting all the attractions of the area including Zugspitze, Lake Eibsee, Partnach Gorge, the castles in Schwangau (50 mins drive), Garmish centre, Fussen centre (50 mins drive), etc. Staff very cordial and helpful. Very good breakfast. Nice garden / lawn / view / indoor pool in hotel which can be enjoyed after a full day out (provided weather is good). We always found parking in the hotel's free outdoor car park.

Review 27:They speak a little English but luckily I speak German so didn't have any problems. You will need to pay in cash.

Review 28:Awesome place. Our apartment was large and roomy with a view of the mountains from our balcony. Very clean and comfortable. No complaints whatsoever. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. There is also a spa and pool we were able to use. Very close to beautiful hiking trails... we were able to just go out the door on foot to reach them. Lovely, lovely place.

Review 29:Fantastic place Alps, Grainau and of course the hotel. Staff caring for guests, very good breakfast, great views. I think I will come again. Thank you to the owners and staff for the warm welcome!

Review 30:internet not available in separate apartment building and not free. It was a bit confusing how to use the pool with the gowns, slippers, towels provided when staying in the separate building, but the pool itself was lovely.

Review 31:facilties (pool, garden), views, parking, breakfast, all v comfortable.

Review 32:You really need to drive to find a restaurant: there are one or two on the way into the centre of Grainau, but even they are some distance.

Review 33:A hotel with outstanding views in a secluded and quiet situation on the edge of Grainau: on the evening of the World Cup Finals we enjoyed total peace (though we did watch the game ourselves on TV)!

Review 34:Absolutely beautiful facility and lovely staff. We had a perfect view of the Zugspitze from our room balcony.

Review 35:Staff does not speak much English

Review 49:Fabulous hotel, great service, very good breakfast.

Review 50:Incredible views, and amazing staff!

Review 51:WIFI did not work

Review 52:Amazing location, Friendly and helpful staff, delicious breakfast, quintessential Bavarian experience!

Review 53:Wifi signal in rooms too weak

Review 54:Extremely clean hotel with friendly staff and very good breakfast. Would go back and stay longer the next time.

Review 55:* Location wasnt central to Garmisch or to Grainau.

Review 56:* Cleanliness * Amenities * Staff

Review 57:everything

Review 58:Stunning location, very friendly atmosphere, incredibly relaxing break.

Review 59:Relation of manages is not nice

Review 60:Location remote from town, felt impersonal

Review 61:Quiet, peaceful hotel

Review 62:breakfast could be available earlier

Review 63:Location, location, location. It was all so relaxing and peaceful. The breakfasts were fabulous.

Review 64:Would have liked some fresh fruit for breakfast.

Review 65:Grainau is a lot less crowded than G-P. The view from the hotel was jaw dropping. Spa/sauna facilities are superb. Good hot coffee in your own pot is served the moment you sit down to breakfast. If you eat in Grainau, make a reservation, on Thursday eve it was tough to get a table by 7 pm.

Review 66:Internet is an issue - not free, only in lobby and connection not stable.

Review 67:Great location, great facilities (pool, sauna, gim, rooms - everything was amazing)!

Review 68:no free wifi

Review 69:Nice location, clean and very comfortable, modern, cosy. It is situated in a quiet area, nice view of the mountain. Nice breakfast, very friendly personel even though we didn't speak German and the person that met us when we checked in didn't know too much English, everything was great. Unfortunately we didn't get the time to use the sauna or the swimming pool as we arrived late and we had to leave early.

Review 70:Outstanding view to the mountains, very nice staff, very romantic place. Pool was fantastic, also, breakfast was delicious, the house is situated in a very quiet area, close to the hills, it is also recommended for ski accomodation.

Review 71:Perfect View of Mountain and highly recommendable hotel to all of my friends. I can say that this hotel is the one of the most excellent hotel ever in my recent trip.

Review 72:Staff seemed to be under pressure and running around which doesn't make for a relaxed atmosphere. (small complaint!)

Review 73:Love the mountain views and spa facilities at this hotel. Its a nice quite hotel, you feel like you are the only guests which is unique! Friendly staff - Tobias made us a lovely breakfast! The hotel itself is just so cute - we will be returning there.

Review 74:Swimming pool, sauna and restaurant were in a different building. Wireless connection available only in the main building.

Review 75:Nice accommodation facility very clean and comfortable.

Review 76:It was pricey for what was there. Very small pool. The beds were ok and water pressure was low. Expected a little more for $270 a night.

Review 77:It was a beautiful place. It was comfortably rustic. Super friendly staff. Great continental breakfast.

Review 78:Very cute alpine hideaway. Love the quietness of the hotel, you feel like you are the only guests in the hotel. Staff are so friendly and do everything to make you feel at home. A special thank you to Tobias - he made a great breakfast.

Review 79:This hotel had loads of charm! Amazing staff! So amazing in many more ways than one but a stand out moment for any traveling family....on our check out day one of the room cleaning staff members ran down two flights of stairs, out into freezing 36 degree (F) weather, in a short sleeved shirt, to catch us before we drove away leaving behind one of my little girls dear, and beloved friends, "Mr. Bunny." He has been a night time companion since birth. With family so far away from us during our current move abroad this fuzzy stuffed guy was more important than he looked! I'm extremely grateful. Very kind of her to all but fly to us.

Review 80:- Staff were generally curteous, but a little too thorough in checking whether we checked the breakfast option in Booking.com. I think they are not aware that there is no difference in pricing, but still to me as a customer it came across like they're checking to see if I made a mistake so they could charge me extra. To their defence, the second lady at the reception let us park the car under the roof (normally a few euros extra) for free. - Some of the room facilities were not functioning properly: sink plug was stuck in its closed position, I had to pry it out; TV antenna cable was broken somewhere, I had to suspend it somehow for the TV to work; The room was a little cold during the first night, the second night was OK. - no included WLAN (small inconvenient)

Review 81:- Spacious room, beautifully designed, own kitchen, everything was very clean - Superb view of the surrounding mountains, the spa section with pool, sauna, and the cosy living room in the common area - ideal for a relaxing ski weekend - Helpful staff, offering a lot of information and tips about the area

Review 82:There isn't much to dislike, maybe the breakfast was a bit sub-standard.

Review 83:Spa area, lounge area, the view is fantastic. Quiet area. Everything is clean and the hotel is very quiet. Rooms are large enough but they lack a bit of soul in decorations.

Review 84:Only a few staff spoke English. Wish we had wifi in our apartment.

Review 85:Loved the little details the hotel/apartment left for us there. Close to bus stop, only 2 miles from town. Very quiet and peaceful. Family ran, nice pool and spa amenities

Review 86:*For the price you pay to stay, wifi should be included, and you should not be charged. *Outrageously expensive laundry. *We felt like we were inconveniencing the staff when asking for assistance. Using English was difficult for the staff and while the huffing and puffing was I'm sure due to frustration on their part for not understanding, it made us feel not welcome or a burden. Maybe have paper and pen available to write questions down and have them translated on your computer there at the desk. *the bathtub/shower:not able to stand to shower. *hours for the pool need to be extended. 8:30pm is too early to stop. *the information book in the room does not coincide with the rules told to us at the front desk. Update the book.

Review 87:*The breakfast was nice. They need to put mustard out to be served. *We paid for laundry and the staff folded it even though we told them they didn't have to. *Beds were comfortable *The Housekeeping lady with the long, dark hair was very nice and always had a smile.

Review 88:all according to or exceeding expectations... And they are high :-)

Review 89:Excellent, warm staff, we were shown all facilities upon arrival. Simple but very very clean rooms with no defects. Great location near Zugspitze with breathtaking nature around

Review 90:We arrived late to a warm welcome, the room was absolutely spotlessly presented and smelt fabulous. The beds/pillows were fabulously comfortable. The bathroom was excellent and immaculately clean. The apartment was ideal for our stay being spacious, private and quiet with a delightful covered balcony and an exquisite view of the mountains.

Review 91:Carrying luggage up 2 flights of stairs. Small inconvenience.

Review 92:Friendly, courteous staff. Lovely accommodations and beautiful view of the Zugspitz and surrounding mountains. It is located in Grainau, a lovely German village

Review 93:Nothing really. If you intend to stay here you better have a car. Internet service could be improved.

Review 94:Location at the foot of the Wetterstein mountains. Very nice family running the house. Nice breakfast.

Review 95:Nothing - loved this place!

Review 96:Wonderful, helpful and friendly staff in a beautiful, quiet mountain setting. Delicious and plentiful breakfast and good dinner restaurant within easy walking distance. Great, relaxing, quiet stay - clean & comfortable.

Review 97:Location! Right at the foot of the mountains! Amazing view! The swimmingpool is really nice. This hotel is a lovely place. Breakfast is simplebut good and fresh.

Review 98:A bit far off from main city (car required), misunderstanding with the owners left a bit unpleasant taste

Review 99:Great facilities - sauna, pool, gym, clean rooms furnished with full kitchen,

Review 100:Loved the authentic style of the hotel. Location is calm serene yet very conveniently close to Garmish and Eibsee ...etc., where the activities are. Enjoyed the warmth and caring of the staff and hotel owner. Very relaxing in touch with nature place. Facilities is better than expected for a 3 star hotel. Would love to visit it again.

Review 101:It's hard to really think of any complaint. But if I have to say something then it's a pity the swimming pool water was so cold and we found the breakfast a little sparse.

Review 102:The hotel was very accommodating about our 9 month old baby (baby bed in the room, high chair at the greakfast table, washing our baby bottles in the morning). The hotel which is just beautiful by the way, was quiet and comfortable and very restful (the room, the common areas, and the gardens) and the pool/sauna area was gorgeous. Everyone we came into contact with was so helpful and made us feel very special. For us it was an amazing find, perfect for our weekend away in the mountains.

Review 103:The wooden floors are a bit noisy...

Review 104:The hotel is conveniently located for a skiing holiday (within approximately 10 minutes driving from the slopes of Zugspitze and Garmisch Clasic), but, being the last house in a dead-end street, it's very well hidden from other visitors of the area. So we enjoyed very peaceful evenings, taking full advantage of the indoor swimming pool and sauna. The host is very warm and always available, with an eye for the details (hot tea available in the afternoon, daily print-outs of skiing conditions).

Review 105:location available swimming pool / fitness center clean nice decoration

Review 113:-very friendly staff - very beautiful Bavarian design in room -wonderful fireworks at new year and very nice atmothfear

Review 115:The location was good , and the staff were nice and helpful

Review 116:We felt very cpmforable
