Reviews for Hotel Bayerischer Hof

Review 1:For the price would have liked breakfast included,

Review 2:Love this hotel, staff are amazing, remembered us from preview visit, and put in same ( revamped , beautifully) ) room . location brilliant,

Review 3:Nothing, but perhaps a few more local specialities on the restaurant menu.

Review 4:Very classy hotel! Lovely big room and very quiet. Good French restaurant, but the portions are German size, thankfully!!

Review 5:The staff in the reception could have been more polite The beds were horrible - much too narrow.

Review 6:The food was exelent. The staff in the restaurant was exelent.

Review 7:Free wifi is intermittent. Good at some times, hopeless at others.

Review 8:Good soundproofing windows. Quiet despite my room facing the train station. Ideal location for taking the bus to the Festpiele Hall, and walking back after the opera. Cleaners make up the room twice a day!

Review 9:- Many things are only on demand: an extra towel for the room (only 2 are given), or an extra cup of coffee at breakfast. And the personal at the reception is just enough friendly or helpful, I have had better in other hotels.

Review 10:+ Well located, near the station and the Festspielhaus

Review 11:Well, No air conditioning in bedroom, and the beds were unforgiving!! Pain killers should be made available!!

Review 12:The staff are excellent, very warm and efficient. Good location for the Festspielhaus.

Review 13:There is no air conditioning and if windows are fully open there is traffic and conversation noise on the third floor. Because of this the room was uncomfortable in the hot, humid summer climate. Breakfast may be had locally for much less than the 14 euro hotel price

Review 14:Hotel is located next to the principal railroad station with excellent restaurants close by. It is kept clean and problems are attended to quickly.by a friendly staff.

Review 15:Location! View of the Festspielhaus from our window! Wanted to walk up to see a childhood home near the Festspielhaus and around the Richard Wagner park. Ate a light dinner at the Gendarmerie Bistro in the hotel and bought pastries the next morning in the adjoining bakery; all good. Very quiet at night despite our room's facing the street and station.

Review 16:My only complaint is that since I had a room on the front side of the hotel it was a little noisy for a while, but eventually it got quiet and I had no problems falling asleep.

Review 17:The hotel is in a great location next to the train station and only about a 15 minute walk from the historic part of the city.I really appreciate the fact that they have a large indoor swimming pool.I had already stayed there in the mid 1990s and about 15 years ago, which were also positive experiences and gave me the incentive to come back. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I really enjoyed the breakfast buffet and my room.

Review 18:Internet was so slow I gave up using it, which is unacceptable for a hotel in 2015. Room was cold and shower was dangerous and unstable, going from freezing cold water to burning hot in seconds. Hotel needs a renovation.

Review 19:Staff are very friendly. Rooms are clean. Close to the train station.

Review 20:Nothing

Review 21:Professional & friendly staff and very accomodating. Had to depart before breakfast so was supplied with a first class packed one to enjoy on my journey....nice touch

Review 22:The price seemed a bit high for a weekend when Bayreuth was nearly empty.

Review 23:Though not luxurious, all around pleasant and neat with nice facilities. I would stay there again.

Review 24:Room was very warm with no way of cooling it. Even with window open it was unbearable at night (stayed in Sept 14). We were given two twin beds covered with a large sheet that gave the illusion of one large bed. Pillows provided were massive in size but very thin & impossible to lie on. My husband & I had to try & double them in two before resting our heads.

Review 25:Hotel was uniquely decorated with a bronzed statue of Richard Wagner in the lounge area beside bar. Room was very spacious and each floor's corridor had different themes. Food was tasty in Hotel Bistro.

Review 26:Room decor could do with an upgrade, very hard bed, very difficult to get service at breakfast.

Review 27:Location near train station, cleanliness, good service from reception and housekeeping.

Review 28:Room was too warm at night, even with the windows open. It could do with ceiling fans or a portable fan.

Review 29:Convenient location, with car parking (we drove from Munich Airport); easy to walk around the sights, and close to Festspielhaus. Friendly and helpful staff; good sized room; nice breakfast spread.

Review 30:The decor is really grim - a most hideous dark reception and on the whole unprepossessing bedrooms save a few of the more expensive. One corridor had - honestly - as decor a dustbin overflowing with garbage (fake) and scattered beer cans (real) as I think a New York theme. We were given a street-facing room after being specifically promised a quiet rear-facing room. The reception staff were unhelpful and ungracious after being taciturn and unwelcoming. They had zero information about the Wagner Festival close by and gave out erroneous information about when the festival area was open - clueless as that was the reason the hotel wal full and able to charge such inflated prices!

Review 31:Breakfast and the pool ok. After the complaints on the negative side the next morning the very nice manager appologised for forgetting to give the reception staff the correct information and the staff the next morning were very charming - so a bit Jekyll and Hyde.

Review 32:nothing

Review 33:very good place ))

Review 34:They wose not enaf prosesional and they do not my good costuma serves .

Review 35:I wood lake to seey ,the best woos the restourant seres .

Review 36:Poor wifi connection

Review 37:Location right next to train station

Review 38:Authentic German Cuisine was sensational. Staff very friendly and helpful

Review 39:Very close to Festspiele house for Wagner festival. The rooms are excellent.

Review 40:Very friendly, helpful and professional staff at every level. Late suppers after the opera.

Review 41:Efficient and friendly staff. Unfussy restaurant with excellent food.

Review 42:Noisy street if windows are open.

Review 43:Caters brilliantly for the Festspiel visitor.

Review 44:The great waiter, always there efficient, and gracious.

Review 45:Very convenient location. Friendly and helpful staff. Very pleasant restaurant. Quiet and comfortable room.

Review 46:Bathroom fixture and fittings were old and in need of updating

Review 47:Staff friendly and helpful

Review 48:pool and sauna!! good rooms and very good breakfast buffe

Review 49:Very nice hotel.

Review 50:good location, normal hotel room.

Review 51:too noisy when the windows were open ...

Review 52:location was perfect

Review 53:It's just few meters away from the train station ,it's very convient, also very comfortable !

Review 54:Could do with air-conditioning in rooms and restaurant.

Review 55:Helpfulness of the staff.

Review 56:internet access was patchy

Review 57:staff were very friendly and helpful

Review 58:No air condition. Needs updating

Review 59:Location

Review 60:Street noise Absurd interior design Heavily overpriced

Review 61:Cleanliness Closeness to the festival huegel

Review 62:Lot of parking space on the big parking next to the hotell, even for bigger cars. We liked everything.

Review 63:No air con in room.

Review 64:The location, within steps from the small train station, is excellent for travelers scheduled to arrive or leave at any time. The staff is welcoming, pleasant, and helpful. Great swimming pool, and clean room with very good-quality bathroom shower.

Review 65:No Tea or Coffee facility in the room- normal in most UK Hotels- even budget ones- and certainly in a hotel like the Bayerischer Hof. It's nice to be able to have a hot drink on arrival and a cup of Tea when getting up! ( I had to leave BEFORE your Breakfast began ). Very British I know... but it's just appreciated! Too much street light. I am not familiar with your system so I didn't know there were shutters. Maybe a warning & a sign would help. I woke up @ 3am as there was so much light in the room ( and some noise from the Taxi's ). I then realised there were shutters but had a bit of hassle to get them to work. After that I found it difficult to go back to sleep- and I can tell you that TV at that time of night is not very good! Sliding Shower door a bit strange as it didn't close fully leaving a big gap !?! ... so getting the stool or toilet wet when in use - not sure if it was jammed !

Review 66:Charming staff. Excellent comfortable bed. Very convenient for the train. I wasn't there long enough to use the restaurant, sauna or pool. I came purely for business this time- but hope to stay again after 2017 with my wife when the old Opera House re-opens.

Review 67:Useless wifi, no access from the room. Spartan breakfast for the price.

Review 68:Comfortable famiy-owned hotel, not in the very centre of Bayreuth, but close to the altstadt. Good reception staff. Good matress and pillows.

Review 69:Shame that the restaurant was not open for dinner the week that we were there, but it was immediately after the summer Wagner Festival when they were probably taking a well deserved holiday.

Review 70:An elegant, well run and elegant hotel. A fine sauna and swimming pool. Staff polite, competent and helpful. Easy safe car parking Not brash, not too modern, not part of a big chain. Breakfast perfect. Convenient for rail station and city centre. Can't fault it.

Review 71:Having to leave!!

Review 72:We travelled by train and the situation couldn't have been better for us. We stayed here to go to the Wagner festival. Wonderful! You could see the festspiele house from the tables outside! Staff were lovely. Rooms very individual. Our room overlooked the garden and it was really quiet. Very high quality bathroom and separate loo. Best of all was the super indoor pool where you could swim and then go and sit in the garden in the sunshine. Excellent restaurant too. Will definitely stay here again!

Review 73:Garage is a short distance away which was a little inconvient when arriving on bikes.

Review 74:Food was excellent and the cost of the 3-course-menu was real value for money. All staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 75:Soundproofing between the rooms was not as good as in other hotels on our vacation.

Review 76:Excellent location, steps from the train station. Amazing breakfast served in the restaurant. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Close proximity to the Festspielhaus and other attractions. The decor in the hotel is eclectic and truly unique.

Review 77:The car parking is a couple of 100 metres away and you have to pay extra. Not a major problem but a little inconvenient. Breakfast choice was a bit limited although the quality and service were good. Some people might have a bit of a problem with noise from the railway but it didn't worry me

Review 78:I had a large room/suite which was very comfortable. The swimming pool was very nice. We also had an excellent evening meal in the restaurant. The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful

Review 79:An excellent hotel - quiet, very comfortable and with character. Although it was hot for the first 3 days of my stay and my room was not airconned, I found the room did not get hot and was comfortable at night. Friendly, helpful staff. Right next to the station, could not be more convenient for train travellers. Bayreuth is the end of the line, so you there are no steps to negotiate either arriving or leaving. The Festspielhaus can be glimpsed in the distance, and the hotel is within walking distance. I would not hesitate to book here again if I can get tickets for the festival again!

Review 80:1. Hotel overlooks the rail station and also the taxi rank. 2. We had temperatures of 30 C and there is no air conditioning in the hotel either in the bedrooms or in any other part of the hotel.

Review 81:The staff are brilliant and the wellness facilities excellent. The only slight criticism is the decor of the rooms which really are quite dated. But, that said they are well maintained.

Review 82:Not good value for money. The expensive junior suite was just a slightlylarger room with no extra facilities, and breakfast was not included inthe price. The weather wasn't hot, but the room was always hot, possiblydue to the lack of air conditioning and the heat given off by the mini-bar fridge. Added to that, the plastic mattress cover made sleepingdifficult. The supplied toiletries, etc, were of poor quality, and notreplaced when used.

Review 83:Its convenient location adjacent to the station, and within easywalking distance from the Festspeilhaus and the town centre. The shoecleaning service.

Review 84:The upgrade was a bit expensive they first said €40 on top of what webooked but in the end we paid €50 a night on top. A bit much but thenagain we needed the room urgently and didn't want to change once wewere in it.

Review 85:The staff was very friendly and try to accommodate us every waypossible. They moved heaven and earth to get us a room as early aspossible and also during our stay they answered every question with abig smile and helped us with everything.Because we needed a room earlier han normally possible (7 a.m.) we had to pay for an upgraded room which was so very luxury it was well worth it. Also every floor is decorated in a unique theme, take the time and wander around, it's worth it! Even though the hotel is next to the train station we didn't hear any trains or any other noise, and everything (including the St Georgen Swingt festival) was within walking distance. I'd recommend this horel to everyone!

Review 86:Breakfast was not included and cost 13 euros. No parking was availableso had to keep moving the car around.

Review 87:Internet mostly worked. Junior suite was roomy and clean. Location neartrain station was good. Not noisy.

Review 88:Old fashioned hotel, overpriced

Review 89:Clean and good location.

Review 90:right next to the train station, which was great as I had an early train the next day!

Review 91:Very nice room Very nice swimming pool Free car parking

Review 92:Nothing.

Review 93:Next to the railway station. Comfortable room, good restaurant.

Review 94:Bit pricey.

Review 95:Bar. Breakfast. Staff. Location for the opera. Opening hours in the restaurant.

Review 96:No air condition !!!

Review 97:I was fully satisfied with the hotel

Review 98:Facilities, amenities of the hotel

Review 99:Nothing to note

Review 100:The comfort and the attention to guests given by staff.

Review 101:Expensive

Review 102:Clean

Review 103:The fact that I could not stay there longer.

Review 104:Everything . Staying there is a civilised experience.

Review 105:Friendly staff,good location,nice breakfast,very clear and comfortable hotel.

Review 106:slow and unstable internet connection

Review 107:Street noise...

Review 108:The overall atmosphere

Review 109:next to station

Review 110:Would have appreciated thicker curtains - was quite bright in the room as lots of street lights outside

Review 111:Great breakfast Comfortable bed Large room

Review 112:Very cold in the room, temperature about 16-18 in the middle of winter.

Review 113:Very close location to the mail train station

Review 114:the beds were too hard.

Review 115:the crazy decorations in the hallway

Review 116:Bit outdated furntures in rooms

Review 117:Very friendly staff, good value for money. Big spacious rooms

Review 118:A small room.

Review 119:Small size, accommodating staff, good breakfast.

Review 120:Beautiful restaurant Spacious bedroom and large bathroom Wonderful view of station, Festspielhaus, and countryside.

Review 121:Very friendly and welcoming staff. Very helpful with advice for attending the Festspielhaus.

Review 122:Perfect location for Festival. Very comfortable stay.
