Reviews for Coral Beach Hotel & Resort Cyprus
Review 1:1. The resort caters specifically for French guests. All notices, entertainment (kids and adult), information etc is all in French. If you are not French, you feel very 'left out' and have very few entertainment options in this hotel. French guests on the other hand are very well catered for. 2. Dinner times were changed without notice, which is very inconvenient if with small children. (New Year dinner was changed from 7pm to 8pm - all the French guests seemed to know about it, but no non French guests were made aware). 3. Indoor swimming pool is very small and noisy. The hotel did not care that it was full of unsupervised kids diving and screaming - despite 'rules' that kids should be supervised at all times and there should be no diving. When we commented to the spa employee - she just shrugged as if there was nothing that could be done about it. All information said the pool is open until 8pm. We arrived one night at 7pm and it was already closed - again without any notice given. Very disappointing for our son. 4. The hotel closed on 4th January for the off season. Many facilities were not working in advance of this date. For example bars, elevators, swimming pool times, christmas decorations taken down etc. If we are guests who have paid until the 4th Jan, I expect facilities to be working until that time It felt like the management wanted to literally turn off the lights and close the door the second the last guest left the hotel at midday on 4th Jan. 5. Our room was spacious and conveniently located, but the floor covering is very hard ceramic with steps - which is something to consider if bringing infants / toddlers. 6. Be aware that if you are not on an all inclusive package, the drinks prices are VERY EXPENSIVE. A small glass of coke was 3.5 Euros. You also have to pay for a glass of water with dinner.
Review 2:1. Good variety of food selections at dinner. Very happy with Asian night and Greek / Cyprus night. 2. Ground floor room was spacious and had nice verandah area leading directly to the grounds and gardens. 3. Convenient location - close to many interesting historical sites.
Review 3:Rooms showing their age; Plumbing backed up even after service; Due for a serious refurbishment.
Review 4:Great Hotel location; good food; friendly staff. Thoughtful touches like washcloths.
Review 5:Breakfast produce of very poor quality. All inclusive packages have lowered the quality of this hotel. It certainly is not now a "5 star" hotel !!!!!!!
Review 6:Location on the beach is great. Rooms are clean and spacious with a lovely sea/sunset view.
Review 7:The rooms should be cleaner. I have an allergy in dust and I was sneezing most of the time
Review 8:Breakfast was great and the hotel staff service was excellent
Review 9:This hotel sells itself as a 5* which we felt was misleading! No fresh juice for breakfast (extra cost!) in a place where oranges abound. No fresh decaf coffee - instant packets! Tea and coffee refilling in the room was shoddy. Hair dryer pathetic. No water pressure in shower. Many restaurants closed. Unfriendly staff.
Review 10:Setting and view from room.
Review 11:Were on half board - al a carte food was disappointing, especially on the 2nd night. Serious lack of entertainment and I don't like the bar facilities or prices - but have stayed before and knew what to expect. I find my entertainment and drinking elsewhere
Review 12:good location, room was clean quite and adequate - balcony small...
Review 13:I have asked double bed when room was booked and on arrival they gave me room with two single beds. when I complain they said they did not had a room with double bed and they joined the two beds together...that was bad.
Review 14:the location
Review 15:Having to leave....;o(
Review 16:The ambience was perfect. It was quiet and from the pool edge you could watch the local fishermen deploying nets for they daily catch in the river metres away below you. Eagles patrolled the sky and the Rooks brought their catch to the pool to wash off the salt. It is situated a stones throw to the beach and there were plenty of shops close by. The room was very modern and comfortable. The bathroom spacious and the whole hotel was very clean. The Chef (George) is a magician and the food spectacular. I was not disappointed. It is a small hotel so not the big crowds at feeding time.
Review 17:not exactly a bad experience but the lunch time food selections were a bit limited.
Review 18:Fantastic breakfast! The housekeeping staff were very friendly and cheery.
Review 19:Plugs next to bed, for charging phones, would have been good. TV reception was terrible. Could hardly watch most of the channels. Very limited English TV channels.
Review 20:Bed was really comfortable, and the view was brilliant
Review 21:Room not serviced by 18:30 despite a green notice on our door since 10:00.
Review 22:Location of hotel and the extent of the garden area about the swimming pool creating an relaxing and secluded atmosphere .
Review 23:Reception: at first they refused to confirm our half-board booking, insisting that we have paid for BB. Also charged us for beach towels at checkout, although we returned them. Both cases were eventually fixed. Also the receptionist could not explain where the bus to the zoo stops, could not say a word except "outside" (we speak both Russian and English), although she had sold the tickets for that bus. Another problem was that it's not everywhere easy to go with a stroller, there are steps without a ramp. Overall my impression is that the hotel is a bit too expensive.
Review 24:Nice place, good infrastructure, especially for children. Excellent food! (we were on half-board).
Review 25:Stopped my mums fav cocktail on all inclusive had to pay because it has cream in it and some people do not finish and leave around the pool. Piper excuse, very disappointing. Staff were sometimes rude
Review 26:It was perfect!
Review 27:The best place I've ever stayed! Absolutely first class! Upgraded as well! Staff incredible! Food incredible! Facilities incredible! Thank you all so very much for the most beautiful holiday ever!!!
Review 28:The fact my reservation was cancelled four days before a trip in which my best friend was getting married. No apology, no seaview room like i asked, no upgrade of any sort due to the inconvenience. The rooms were quite modest too.
Review 29:The hotel grounds were absolutely stunning. The gardens were tended to very well and the pool was gorgeous. The bar staff were very friendly and in general, sitting out of an evening, with a glass of wine was pure heaven. Lots of outdoor seating and the views were breathtaking. Drinks were a reasonable price but a little higher than other hotels i had stayed at.
Review 30:The fact that some walls in our room were being painted as we were checking in and the slow or at times non-existent wi-fi connection.
Review 31:The comfort of the rooms and the friendly and helpful staff.
Review 32:While the greeting staff were lovely, the concierge, cleaners, wait staff were all miserable. This was the only thing that was annoying about the hotel.
Review 33:The view was amazing lovely location for a wedding. The beds and pillows were comfy and bathrooms clean. We really enjoyed it and would probably return.
Review 34:Nothing major; the beach wasn't amazing, so we just stuck to the poolside. Also, fyi the Olympic swimming pool is locked up - it's only for use by teams apparently. Oh and the breakfast was great except for the lack of fresh fruit...would have thought there would be plenty as lots are grown locally...but not the end of the world.
Review 35:Lots of areas to sit and chill. The Limani Taverna by the harbour was great for dinner, as well as an afternoon drink & snack - nice atmosphere right by the sea. Good prices for the mini bar and on-site shop. Lovely pool (though you do have to put some towels down by the time breakfast is over otherwise all the poolside ones get taken!)
Review 36:The lady who we spoke to regarding a future event was not very personable, we were not shown the locations of the potential event. The meeting took less than 15 mins and was very matter of fact and not at all inviting.
Review 37:The bed was very comfortable and the pillows.
Review 38:Not cosy at all. The hotel's beach is rocky and abandoned, with bulk of weeds. Another part of the beach devoted to water sports and bears traces of big machines on dust mixed with chad. The good sandy beach is nearby, but it is public, and way to it on the hotel's side is scruffy. In the hotel everything is not good enough for the price. Spa zone (= Turkish bath and jacuzzi) is closed for children, so you can't warm up a child after bathing. Kindergarten leaves the impression of a cold stone sack, no flowers, no greens. Double bed actually was twin separated with a wide hole. Definitely, doesn't deserve its 5* rating
Review 39:Clean room with amazing sea view, clean water and good public beach nearby, tasty yogurts and bread for the breakfast, nice staff at the kindergarten, some antique furniture in the halls, live music in the evening
Review 40:The hotel needs some TLC , plus considering Easter had been and gone the beach was still be cleared of the winters damage( plus the noise from vehicles clearing it was irritating) so was not a pleasant place to be. I remember the beach being the best bit 20 years ago with golden sand. Now the sand is grey!
Review 41:Clean, comfortable rooms , fab sea view . It is no longer a 5 star hotel but then it did not cost us a 5 star price , so good value for money.
Review 42:I just wish there was more for English children all kids clubs were for French kids. And the water slides need to be open for a little longer.
Review 43:Comfy beds, clean, beautiful place, lovely food except the breakfast not too our taste. But then you can't have everything. Fantastic spa. It's the second time we have visited.
Review 44:that whenever I will ask about the wifi the guy was too late
Review 45:I like the place especially it was my birthdays and of the worker she took good care of me I love it and I want to go back
Review 46:Very minor comment would be to avoid the piped musak and play varied selection of genres / artists.
Review 47:Smart hotel in beachfront with gorgeous pool and reasonable gym. Food good but plenty of local eating houses as well.
Review 48:We were most disappointed with the variety of the food. At breakfast, there was a limited choice of fruit and desserts.
Review 49:We enjoyed the mountain view from the room. We also liked the atmosphere at the piano bar. We especially liked the friendly staff.
Review 50:The hotel is dated, hard to believe its five star. I had pancakes and then porridge for breakfast both were cold. The only sign saying the name of the hotel is on a rock outside.
Review 51:Staff are lovely, swimming pool is nice. Was value for money.
Review 52:The hotel has grown since my last visit but the pool areas etc are the same size - it can get really crowded in the summer months. The walk to breakfast is longggg....
Review 53:Friendly staff, great front desk, modern and comfortable rooms.
Review 54:I would have gone for the all inclusive but massively do not like the fact that the spirits are cheap/low quality options. Had this once before and whilst I like the hotel they will never get my full support whilst they 'penny pinch' with the drinks.
Review 55:1.The buffet dinner was poor 2.The white tableclothes were dirty and they were not being replaced by clean ones for the next quest. 3.The reception hall tables and floor were dirty.
Review 56:The reception hall with many places to sit and relax.
Review 57:Terrible handling of the charges by the staff, charging my Amex card with our friends account AND OURS,even before check-in, the same with their expenses in the restaurant and mini-bar.. Non professional attitude by waiters and technicians(rudeness ).No WiFi in the bedrooms etc..
Review 58:As always the position of the hotel, the delicious dinners and the soundproof of the walls I such a heavily crowded period..
Review 59:Staff's manners at dining room were not up to standards. Lack of wi-fi in rooms. Lack of heating in corridors. Confusion at reception re bill payment (half of the sum was added to another room).
Review 60:Excellent food quality. Beautiful location and sea view.
Review 61:Housekeeping didn't clean the room (only changed towels, emptied bins, and replaced glasses). Fingerprints all over table and desk (even upon first entering room). Hotel could do with some maintenance. In fact, taps in bathroom started corroding. Food quite average. 2 glasses of coke in the restaurant cost almost €7. However, glass of wine in bar cost €4.50. Overall, the hotel isn't worthy of its five-star status. Felt more like a three-star hotel.
Review 62:WiFi (although would drop every so often). Service (Aggelos in reception and Georgina in the restaurant were particularly friendly and helpful). Minibar prices (a small bottle of water cost €0.50; a bottle of sparkling wine €12).
Review 63:The food was not 5 star quality. The carpet in the room had not be hoovered(there ware chips scattered on the floor.
Review 64:The prices of drinks and mini bar product was very reasonable.
Review 65:it wasn't soundproof the rooms we could here everyone, Jacuzzi was smelling molt if it was a 3 star hotel i would say it was perfect but it is a 5 star and the hotel really needs renovation and maintenace
Review 66:liked the location the indoors swimming pool was warm the water sauna Jacuzzi was available all day and night there was a nice traditional dancing program at night breakfast and lunch was good
Review 67:Location, Staff friendliness, Restaurants, Cleanliness, Facility's, Free Wi-Fi and value for money. Would go back again. May see you again for Christmas :)
Review 68:Hotel is like a maze with lifts going all over the place and no signs telling you where to go, got lost a few times
Review 69:Rooms were lovely Bathroom was large and clean Balcony was big and private Breakfast is great
Review 70:The internal swimming pool was not heated. Outside it was cold and the sea and outer pools were very cold. With a young granddaughter we were very disappointed All our requests from the management were denied. .
Review 71:We had a nice staying! Very comfortable beds, nice breakfast, amazing sea view, beautiful swimming pool, friendly staff. I would suggest renovation because it's a bit old.
Review 72:The hotel was old with new furniture. Very noisy AC and not efficient. No complimentry water supplied. Maid service would just barge in and not give u time to answer the door, maintenance too even though we had not called them.Food was very poor quality and not all restaurants were open every night. Not sure where the 5* rating came from.
Review 73:the weather was pleasant. beach bar just along the beach, food was much better for far less money.
Review 74:I was told the hotel was overbooked. I was transferred to a different hotel, Thalassa. My room had no sea view and balcony which I had paid for and there was a terrible smell of drains. I tried to move rooms but was told they were also full.I later found out another couple had the room allocated and were moved when they complained of the smell. It was a nightmare trying to find my way back after the wedding on my own and it was pitch black.
Review 75:Nothing in particular.
Review 76:The facilities and location of the hotel are both excellent and we had a really relaxing stay lazing around the hotel. There was a real cross section of people staying at the hotel, from couples to families, and it seemed to suit all kinds of guests. The food, whilst good, was a bit 'samey' at times, which is to be expected on an all inclusive holiday. The staff were generally helpful and attentive.
Review 77:We managed to get lounge chairs and an umbrella on the beach only two days out of our seven day stay. The chairs were always already "reserved" from the night before. Though management hung a sign saying it was not possible to reserve the chairs and that there were "enough for everyone" the practice is the only way people get seats on the beach. When we tried to do the same, our seats were taken- in spite of the towels - while we were at breakfast. More polite guests were relegated to the chairs on the grass or by the pool. We reserved the Junior suite for its nicer interior sitting area, additional space, and the adults only wing which we hoped would be quieter. Our room did not appear to be what was described on the website (no couch or easy chairs and smaller), and the wing was definitely not adults only. We felt like the considerable extra cost of this room was a waste. It was difficult to get access to the Olympic lap pool shown on the website. We were also told not to try to use it when in use by athletic teams in training, since apparently the hotel rents it out to them. This was all disappointing, because it was one of the reasons we chose the hotel. The mattress was poor, and was not at all up to the expectation of the very high cost paid for the room. Furnishings and interior were in need of updating, particularly carpet which was stained and old. Taking care of the grounds starts very early every morning of the week, so there is no chance for a peaceful AM on the terrace.
Review 78:The sea and beach and grounds are lovely. Staff are generally friendly and helpful. Having several restaurants to choose from is nice.
Review 79:Beach was a beat dirty because of the storm, but staff cleaned it. special tractor came and took everything. Carpet in our room was dirty, change it, please. From window with seaview you can see only a big tree instead of sea. Breakfast is not for 5 stars hotel. And where is all fruits? This is Cyprus! 30 minutes from downtown, which is far. Hotel needs renovation, and its not 5 stars. If you didnt take all inclusive - bad for you, food and drinks so expensive.
Review 80:Big and nice hotel, very cleaned in everything. Territory is so nice, all green, has a lot of flowers, big enough. Lot of beach chairs. Staff is excellent, polite, very helpful. Delicious food. Gooв facilieties for kids. Wi-Fi is good in all territory, include your room.
Review 81:Shame we had to return home, next year we will have a longer stay.
Review 82:The location of this Hotel, the friendly/helpful staff, the amazing food choices, the relaxing atmosphere, the local bus/ taxi transfer services, and of course the weather made for a great weeks holiday for my wife and I.
Review 83:we are locals so would have liked a blanket as it was late in sept and we felt it cold at night.
Review 84:we were upgraded to 2 suites! wonderful surprise. the staff were so helpful and it was a lovely luxury break. went to the a la carte restaurant and the food was lovely wish i had room for the desert as looked so good!
Review 85:Food a little repetitive, some decor in rooms a little dated
Review 86:Great hotel, beautiful views. lovely room: clean, tidy spacious Staff friendly and helpful Lots of sunbeds, nice pool
Review 87:Parking was somewhat disorganised and getting to the hotel for the first time would be helped by a road sign or two from the main road.
Review 88:The hotel was clean with useful facilities and staff that were attentive and wanted to please.
Review 89:The hotel staff was not particularly friendly. When asked about the schedule of the local bus and the times it runs, they had no response. Similarly booked an overly expensive taxi. The internet connection is intermittent at best. The beech is pebbly , there are huge boulders in the water
Review 90:the surroundings are not bad and the breakfast is quite good.
Review 91:the rooms where really bad, the carbet was very old and dirty and we could not lock the room from the balcony because the door was broken and nobody try to fix it even after our complain
Review 92:location
Review 93:The night before check out we found two insects in our room and also ants in the bathroom. We have communicated the issue to reception and the only answer was that they have the same insects in their houses. This is a 5 star hotel and is not acceptable having these insects but having more frequent PEST controls.
Review 94:The room was very spacious and clean. The staff except reception staff was very polite.
Review 95:Except tea and american coffee all other types of coffee were offered at breakfast only upon extra charge.
Review 96:Nice location with great view and sea. Friendly staff ready to help you. Clean, quiet and modern. Conventional but satisfactory breakfast.
Review 97:Decor in rooms is a little tired and dated, but you dont spend too much time there so wasnt a major downer for us.
Review 98:sunbathing, sea, food, and facilities were all great. proximity to Paphos was good, and Staff were very friendly.
Review 99:The rooms were very very dated!!
Review 100:The balcony area was lovely with absolutely stunning views. Also the room service was good, although the breakfast was not fantastic.
Review 101:The hotel was expensive with lots of hidden extras. It promoted child friendly activities like water slides but they were only operational for 3 hours per day. The food was also very average. This would be very much a 4 star not 5 star hotel for me.
Review 102:The location was good. The hotel had a lovely private beach in a bay and nice private grounds.
Review 103:Christine jones helped me with a few arrangements before we got there and got it absolutely spot on, I can't fault her or the hotel staff for making our stay extra special and will definitely be visiting again!
Review 104:The sea view!!
Review 105:the food was very good. the staff very good
Review 106:food and staff and the location
Review 107:We had our wedding there. Tara, the wedding coordinator did a brilliant job with the arrangements etc. The staff were great too!
Review 108:Beautiful views from our room.
Review 109:Food sometimes was not up to standard of a five star hotel especially in the evenings
Review 110:Location was very good
Review 111:Can't think of anything
Review 112:So much space in communal areas fab views across the bay
Review 113:Nothing
Review 114:Everything
Review 115:Needs upgrading
Review 116:Staff are friendly
Review 117:We found the choice of food was limitied when eating outside. Everything with Chips!
Review 118:Our room and balcony was excellent with lovely views
Review 119:Decent hike to other bars and restaurants, but taxi office at hotel entrance.
Review 120:Location, sea view room well worth extra
Review 121:The room wasnt cleaned properly. I found someones dirty sock under the bed after a week!
Review 122:The bed was very comfortable.
Review 123:Snotty attitude of staff when they heard we were not all inclusive guests.
Review 124:Checking out
Review 125:Big property attracting larger travel groups
Review 126:Location is very nice with beautiful views on the sea. Very good facilities in the resort
Review 127:extremely old hotel, rooms, disappointing breakfast
Review 128:friendly staff
Review 129:very old hotel, it needs renovation
Review 130:Wi-fi wasnt that strong. Our room was really far and had to walk a long distance.
Review 131:Great location, lovely staff, very clean.
Review 132:den mas edosan late check out. parolo pou ixame milisi apo prin mazi tous ke ipn oti th morousame na minoume mexri tis 3.
Review 133:oreo spa orea thea
Review 134:Poor quality of the room's cleanliness at arrival
Review 135:Location was fine, food (HB) was exellent. Nice kids' play yard and kids' club.
