Review 1：not a "bad" experience, but with my dodgy knees, the stairs to the room were very awkward.Not recommended for people with mobility issues.

Review 3：This hotel has a very special ambience, everything is set out with great care for detail. Amazing breakfast, very friendly staff. They offer high quality bicycles to get around in the area.
Review 4：When we visited there was no member of staff on site except at breakfast. On arrival, had to phone mobile number to get code to receive keys from box outside front door. No-one therefore available to answer questions. Breakfast does not start until 8am which is not ideal for travellers. Despite the name outside the hotel, it DOES NOT have a restaurant! Information in room very sketchy - e.g. no information on local restaurants and (with no-one on site) no-one to ask. Wifi access numbers did not work.
Review 5：Set in interesting historic customs house and garden next to castle. Drinks and cake kindly provided. Easy parking.
Review 6：A little strange to have to let ourselves in to the hotel by code and to meet no one else in the hotel. But everything worked out well.
Review 7：The room was nice and spacious with a good bathroom. Breakfast was very good. The hotel was quiet and the beds comfortable.
Review 8：Not so much a bad experience but ..... upon arrival (afternoon) initially there wasn't anyone in reception to check me in? I had to ring a bell for attention and a member of staff who was busy upstairs came to the rescue. It was a Sunday so maybe that was the reason? Although I would expect a hotel to operate equally at weekends. My stay was still good though and I was offered coffee and cake whilst I waited.
Review 9：Friendly hotel, great location - Owner/Manager/staff very friendly. Coffee machine in eating area available for use all the time I was there (overnight stay) which is a good for me personally. Breakfast nice!!!

Review 11：The decor and modern comfort in a character building is a perfect combination. A great breakfast served in a room full of ambiance, light and tranquility as well as being delicious.
Review 12：On booking.com it says the hotel has a restaraunt. When we arrived we were told it is bed and breakfast only. After a 660km drive from Rotterdam this was not good news. We were not given a PIN number to access our keys. The hotel was locked, even at 7pm, and we had to stand in the cold while we contacted the owner.
Review 13：The room was lovely. Very large with a comfortable bed. The wifi also works very well, not always the case in older buildings.
Review 14：Outstanding view on the Castle. Moreover, it feels like staying in a small English countryside hotel, pretty much like those filmed in "Midsommer Murders" :-)
