Reviews for Sport Hotel Village

Review 1:Unfortunately the worst can happen and sour the whole experience. A bar employee was clearly out of tune with the rest - rude, ironical and unable to resolve little problems that became conflicts. Also the final invoice had to be hardly reviewed to avoid overcharges - at the end correctly reviewed by the hotel.

Review 2:Location is amazing, next to ski lift and great access to lockers and material rental. Restaurant buffet is of excellent quality. Staff generally polite and efficient.

Review 3:The staff is incredible. Very friendly and patient . During our trip , we got into a car accident and the staff was extremely caring and helpful . The hotel manager who was already off duty came back together with her boyfriend to help us sort out the logistics . We are extremely grateful !

Review 4:The food was awful only option was a buffet and was cold and lots advertised was unavailable so not a great experience

Review 5:Staff were lovely, polite and helpful. The view was beautiful

Review 6:A pity the eggs for breakfast are left to overlook on the hotate. Slightly messy check in.

Review 7:Perfect location in centre of village. Friendly staff. Fabulous Spa. Extensive buffet breakfast. Comfortable spacious rooms with terrace and spectacular mountain view. good beds.

Review 8:Poor cleaning of room despite repeated requests took 5 days for a proper clean and then told it was our fault! On the 6th and last day the cleaner took 8 minutes to clean 3 room suite. Also rooms dated and tired, black and brown décor very oppressive

Review 9:Location and access to pistes and lockers

Review 10:Hotel is very noisy, there are groups of children running around and playing in common areas until very late at night, beds are very hard, only with blankets and sheets, not duvets. There is no WiFi in bedrooms. Decor in bedrooms very dated, expensive hotel for the quality.

Review 11:Location is great for skiing. Buffet expensive but good, with something for all tastes and preferences.

Review 12:We left hairgrip on wc table and it dissappiered(( Nobody asked housekeeper to come to us and explain this eccident...

Review 13:Good buffet and location, good sport shoping downstairs

Review 14:Rooms requests not met, climate control was supposedly impossible, wifi did not work throughout stay and staff were unhelpful and unapologetic. Incredibly poor service from what claims to be a 4* hotel. Certainly nothing on the sister hotel (Hermitage) in which we stayed last year.

Review 15:Proximity to the slopes

Review 16:This hotel was booked as a special treat for my wife, as she hasn't had a holiday without cooking etc in aprroximately 10 years. So it was supposed to be a complete relaxation break. On booking into the hotel the staff tried to tell us we had only a booking for B&B not half board, it was corrected, but with no apology. The bedroom, bearing in mind this is a 4 star ski hotel, allowed just enough room to move around in once our luggage was in the room, 1 bag of ski clothes and 2 cabin sized suitcases. The room was extremely hot and dry, despite turning the heating down, so we had to keep on opening the window. On deciding to use the communal facilities we found that we had to go back to our room to get additional clothing as these areas were having cold air blown into them continually and the staff were complaining how cold it was .... this included the restaurant. The food was reasonable but on asking why many of the hot dishes were only just warm we were informed there was a problem with the under heating trays! We misunderstood and thought the spa pools use were included in the price, we accepted that we had made a mistake so when my wife went to use the facilities at 39E she was more than amazed to be asked to pay another 12E for flip flops to wear in the spa area. She didn't use the facilities and we eventually left the resort a day early as we were so totally disappointed in the whole hotel not relaxing. The icing on the cake was to find when we put the bedspread back on the bed on our last morning was that saw some very nasty stains on it, that we had noticed before because of the way we had folded it when taking it off! Soldeu is such a fantastic ski resort but having stayed in other hotels there we would never go back to the Sports Village, an NOT a 4 Star Hotel mistake! We didn't make an official complaint as it was obvious in talking with staff that other guests were having the same issues. We've just put it down to experience ....

Review 17:The views of the ski slopes

Review 18:Mid information on opening times of facilities such as Spa & gym. Spa access is expensive although very well appointed. The timers on jacuzzi's and other equipment are frustrating. Lack of traffic/road conditions caused us to miss our flight!!!!! Huge additional expense and inconvenience.

Review 19:The facilities are good, staff very friendly and helpful. Ideally located for slopes and village.

Review 20:No WIFI in rooms. The dinner buffet is expensive, hot food is cold and meatballs served on our first night were raw. Rooms are dated and nothing special - at this price they ought to be much better. Spa is way too expensive and the pool water is too cold, especially compared with spa resorts in France. Ski passes, hire etc. all expensive compared to other resorts in the Pyrenees.

Review 21:The location is super convenient. Staff generally friendly and helpful.

Review 22:Did not like €37 for one admittance to spa. Gives 4hr but how long can you stay? I lasted 1hr. Over rated. Had to ask for robe at reception and was not offered slippers to walk from room to spa. Walked barefoot and was then charged €12.50 to walk from spa reception to pool area. What a rip off. €50 for 1hr!!!!! Should have been for weeks access. Especially as there was only 1 other person in there at 16:00hrs. Concessions should be made by hotel. Locker room for skis and boots but needs heated boot racks. Paid for mountain view room but very noisy with piste bashers and scooters in use all night and early morning

Review 23:Convenience to slopes. Friendly, helpful staff.

Review 24:Found the hotel very hard to fault to be honest! As some reviewers have mentioned the decor of the rooms to some may seem a bit dated but the room was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed.

Review 25:Location is fantastic for access to the slopes, and also great for local bars and restaurants. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, great place to stay with children too as there is an outdoor play area and an indoor soft play/kids club at the Sport Hotel across the road. Hotel ski school was great too, sorted out lessons and lift passes for us. Spa facilities were excellent.

Review 26:The mattress was too hard, I had pain in my back the first day! Bathroom was a little bit old dated. The places to relax in the lobby are too cold. We initially booked a regular room that was very small, dark with a little window on the noisy and busy Main Street (then we moved to a junior suite much better!) The style of the junior suite is not very trendy.

Review 27:Location, free entrance to the spa when junior suite booked, food very fresh with lot of variety and people very nice and professional.

Review 28:Poor value x money Very Small room No Wi-fi in the room No Spa for kids <14y.old

Review 29:Views Localization Very professional barman service in the lobby (10 points for Jan, from Czechoslovakia)

Review 30:Can't really relax in common area . Too many children running about screaming and shouting , could do with kids area at the top of the mountain as far away as possible ..

Review 31:Great location , great staff made to feel very welcome . Good breakfast ...

Review 32:Dated bedroom but clean. 2 single bed instead of a double bed as requested during the booking!!!

Review 33:Proximity from ski slope

Review 34:No internet in room no coffee making facilities in room

Review 35:Spa was nice but 12 euro for 50cent flip flops was a rip off

Review 36:Expensive food and drink, staff seem bored, not much to do in the area.

Review 37:Clean and modern with great views

Review 38:Evening buffet meal very poor, breakfast not good

Review 39:Room very comfortable good views. Bathroom well equipped.

Review 40:Wifi only available in public areas

Review 41:Whole hotel was very warm and welcoming with superb, friendly and helpful staff.

Review 42:No wifi in the rooms

Review 43:Esther the fabulous fitness instructor!

Review 44:No wireless in the room

Review 45:Location, confort

Review 46:Ski in/out

Review 47:Poor wifi

Review 48:Evrerything apart from poor wifi

Review 49:Our single beds were way too hard & rooms far too hot .

Review 50:Being charged twice

Review 51:Location, location, location

Review 52:No wifi in room , room could do with a bit of TLC ,

Review 53:Great spot , nice breakfast , free ski lockers , very spacious

Review 54:Nothing

Review 55:Staff and service are excellent Location is perfect

Review 56:Rooms and facilities

Review 57:Fantastic views and beautiful Hotel

Review 58:Pleasant room, excellent breakfast.

Review 59:The restaurant food dried up steak was tough unable to eat didn't look very appertising

Review 60:The location was excellent and facilities were good

Review 61:SPA is very good but perhaps too expensive (35€ per person and day to hotel guests). Internet connection in the rooms had some failures.

Review 62:The hotel is very good with a nice decoration and superb location for someone who wants to ski in Soldeu. The food (breakfast and dinner) was very good. The views to the ski slopes were wonderful.

Review 63:Bed made the english way and rather uncomfortable. Blanket bit dusty also. SPA expensive and not up to expectations. Interior a bit out of date.

Review 64:Good location, nice common areas. Lovely breakfast.

Review 65:Couldn't use the spa facilities as my son was 12 (min is 14). Rooms got very hot/stuffy.

Review 66:Excellent food. Position - ski to the door. Paid more for the mountain view - which was great.

Review 67:Poor service 25 minutes to be served in the Bar ( it wasn't even that Busy ) Poor Service in the Restaurant ,cold Red Wine Having to clear your own plates ,Some rude Staff Our room stank of foul drainage coming from the Bathroom ,caused by poor maintenance ,we asked if this could be looked at ,they did nothing until 2 days later when I demanded to move room ,when they offered us a room in the attic ,I am 6 ft 1 inch.!, Eventually they moved us .to the same standard room without any compensation . A bottle of wine would have done !!!

Review 68:The Restaurant selection was good Excellent Chef and polite Restaurant manager

Review 69:Buffer dinner. Good choice but prefer waiter service.

Review 70:Location is spot on. Food is all help yourself buffer. Great if you like that style of food but not for me. Overall a good hotel is great location and will go again next year

Review 71:They advertise to have a pool and spa. No kids allowed. I understand but then may be divide the time 4- 6 kids allowed after not, their muscles hurt too. No price was given so when I went with mu husband. I was surprised to pay €86 for 10minutes jacuzzi. I left. The kids were alone and I think it false advertising as no additional cost was mentioned, anywhere.

Review 72:The smell, service. Overall ambiance. food very good. Great choices.

Review 73:We left at the end of our stay at 7am and were told that we couldn't even get a coffee never mind breakfast. We chose a week at the beginning of January where we were virtually the only guests who weren't Russian.

Review 74:Lovely comfortable, clean hotel, great view of the mountain from the balcony in our room. Food very good with great variety and staff friendly

Review 75:Everyone we met was so friendly and helpful. The spa albeit an extra cost option is fabulous. We were warned though that we were not in peak season and it gets very busy from mid Feb. onwards. The Villager has live music and great bar staff who make you welcome. The Harp down the road has great live music late.

Review 76:Andorra is a quite expensive place including hotel prices, skipasses, ski lessons and ski rental. But the slopes are very well maintained and really beautifull.

Review 77:Location, excellent food, nice hotel with comfortable rooms, nice party during New Year's Eve

Review 78:No internet from the rooms and too expensive from the lobby.

Review 79:The amazing staff mostly at the restaurant!!! Perfect location!!! Superb view, slopes view from everywhere!!! The good quality of food! The decor, confort and cleaningness, the breakfast and dinner, the bar staff members, adding to the wonderful Spa makes the Sport Village a special place to stay in Soldeu. The hotel is very well managed, special thanks to Gonçalo, Rodrigo, the sommeliers, Davi (the waiter who kindly helped me with pen drive) the recepcionist Marta Torres just to mention few names that makes a diference, many thanks on behalf of my family. The Grandvalira ski school is highly recomended as well. See you all next year.

Review 80:The ski lifts & condola wasn't in set to take passengers.

Review 81:The beautiful building, and the surrounding area. Very friendly staff. The spa area very wonderful.

Review 82:Nothing - an excellent hotel all round.

Review 83:Wonderful location overlooking ski pistes and cable car. Stunning views. Luxury and space. Excellent buffet meals. Friendly and helpful staff.

Review 84:We have visited the hotel several times on skiing holidays with our family, would like to see a more discerning menu in the dining room.

Review 85:Lovely room this visit, bar area relaxing, loved the new decor. Sampled some lovely wine in the dining room. Golf course a surprise for us this time.

Review 86:The beds - mattresses are too firm and the mattress protectors have a plastic coating making it very hot. However, the beds have never put me off staying again and again in this hotel.

Review 87:Excellent location. We stay in the beautiful Sport Village Hotel in Soldeu. There are stunning views of the mountains and up and down the valley from this hotel. We have stayed in this hotel a number of times and definately prefer this hotel to anywhere else in Andorra. A stay of 3 nights or more qualifies for a free 3 hour pass into the luxury Spa within the 5* star hotel adjoining. Highly recommended.

Review 88:Wellness spa. Cold and sauna and hot tubs cold. Too expensive. Also notadvertised that children not allowed. Our son is 12 and verydisappointed not to be able to swim. Booked to for 3 and sofa bed notcomfortable needed a duplex apt not advised better room for 10 eurosmore. No night life. Only 2 channels for English. Food goes cold ifdon't eat early.

Review 89:Half board and location

Review 90:No help from the reception to get luggage from room to reception to check out. They start only at 09:00 am.

Review 91:the location, the good food and the suite with beautiful views

Review 92:-Being told that we had to eat at 9.30pm. We did eat at 7.30pm but after having to argue. -Pillows. -Being asked in restuarant 3/4 times at each meal for room number. -Being kept awake all night because of the music in pub below our room-No apology from receptionist. Very poor attitude. -Sitting in lounge for an hour before any one came to take drink order. -Not having plates removed from dinner table. -Being locked out of our room because the reception had checked us out on wrong day. -Not having our room cleaned on day before leaving.

Review 93:Food

Review 94:The dinning room was a mess. They had a system for where you sat except they didn't stick to their own system. The food was more cafe than 4 star hotel. Virtually the same buffet every night. More like 2 star. The restaurant manager had no idea and would say you are on the same table as last night. Well as we were on 3 different tables on 3 nights running and each time had walk back and ask for a different table. The system didn't work but he was never sorry. Just a look of " you must be wrong". The rooms were extremely hot and the bed rock hard

Review 95:Location near the lift was excellent. The rooms( we had a suite) was very good with a huge bathroom.

Review 96:No wi-fi in the rooms. Two of us slipped on the wooden stairs in the room which were very dangerous if you were wearing socks. The room was completely overheated with no way of us controlling with a thermostat. The evening food was ok but could easily have been a lot better.

Review 97:The staff were all excellent and very friendly. The location is excellent. We liked the way breakfast was set up and the variety available and the catering for people who had special dietary needs.

Review 98:The manner of the staff was very rude, abrupt and unhelpful. Thebreakfast was laid out in a very disorganised way, cereals one end ofthe room and milk the other and no spoons. The lady chef cooking eggswas most put out when we asked for boiled eggs. She replied with Howmany do you want 5, 6, 7 or 8? ! Big disappointment that the spa wasnot included in the price of the stay. I have never know a hotel chargeto use the pool facility. We only booked 4 days trip as it was aFriends Hen/Stag party - 4 couples so 8 adults in total. ) Oursalone cost 900 Euros Bed and Breakfast! No Spa included or pool thiswas an additional 35 euros! Why advertise the hotel with a pool and spaif its not included in the hotel price!!! We would definitely not stayhere again - We stayed at the Sport hotel across the road a few yearsago- this was much better all round. I think there are far superiorhotels than the Sport Village and for less money and with much betterservice. Also the bedrooms were very warm, we had to open the windowsat night, but the rest of the hotel was cold! Mr & Mrs Wilkesstayed in room 2206.

Review 99:The close proximity to the slopes is ideal. The hotel was

Review 100:As we booked through booking I think we were given only room on the floor without a balcony-shame! Service especially reception was appalling I speak fluent French and some Spanish but at reception no effort at allot speak anything but Catalan, hotel was supposed to book skiing lessons they lost them, our room wasn't ready at 3 pm, generally very abrupt!

Review 101:Really a fab hotel amazing location on the pistes impressive building big rooms, I hate buffets but the quality and variety of food was excellent and best waiter was Goncalo!

Review 102:A public car park below hotel is expensive at 10.80 euros a day

Review 103:This was an excellent, comfortable hotel offering exceptional value for money with its half board option. The room had stunning mountain views.

Review 104:Could have had air conditioning in the room (30 degree's in summer). Also the bath/shower temperature needs quite regular adjustment.

Review 105:Great location, probably the best in Andorra. Helpfull and friendly staff with advice about what to do and where to go. Great surroundings and not bad food.

Review 106:what was there not to like.

Review 107:having visited a few years ago and had a lovely time in the snow we wanted to return en route to spain. not disappointed. staff friendly, the hotel has expanded since our last visit but not lost its charm. food good although could have been warmer. sad to see that the hotel has so few guests. room very comfortable, staff friendly and helpful. room was rather warm. thanks for a nice stay.

Review 108:The room was very narrow and uncomfortable. The pillows were a strangeshape and very hard. The spa demanded to see my child's passport toconfirm her age (16). Reception was no help trying to change rooms.

Review 109:The food was good, the service in the dining area was good. The locationis good, very near the gondola.

Review 110:Location
