Reviews for On Vacation Amazon All Inclusive

Review 1:Zero authenticity - this place is more like a cheap version of Cancun in the Amazon. Loud music from Breakfast til midnight drowns out the wildlife, terrible food (and not typical of the zone), awful cocktails and generally more of a holiday camp feel than a hotel to explore the amazon from. Staff are generally pretty miserable - probably since they seem to resent the existence of this huge, loud hotel complex in their community.

Review 2:Well located, nice rooms, it has a pool

Review 3:We did feel a little trapped there and if you didn't go on their tours it was hard to leave.

Review 4:The rooms were amazing, huge with lots of wood and the mosquito nets made the beds look like four poster beds-very nice. The location was good and the journey in on the boat was fun. Nice but quite small pool. People have previously complained about the all inclusive food but to be honest it's pretty standard Colombian fare and as you're in the middle of the Colombian rainforest you can't expect the same quality and range as you would get in other all inclusive resorts. Staff were friendly but I suspect you need to be able to speak Spanish.

Review 5:We’ve been to the Amazon before and don’t expect luxury but, this hotel did not meet our expectations for how expensive it was. One of the leading factors as to why we chose this hotel is that it advertised A/C. Our last trip to the Amazon we didn’t have A/C and wanted to make sure we had it this time around. However, we quickly learned that the A/C is only active from 6:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. So by 2:30 you’re sweating bullets and unable to sleep. Why they chose those hours is beyond me. Perhaps they could have invested in some ceiling fans instead of 42” LCD televisions. We didn’t come to the Amazon to watch TV…especially a TV that is on its last leg (probably due to the high humidity in the room…ironic). In addition, the music and partying coming from the lounge is out of control. Our room was right next to it and, until it stopped at 11:00 p.m., we were unable to sleep. White noise maker, ear plugs, and the sounds of nature were no match for the amount of noise. It was like a rock concert going on every night. Typically, 11:00 p.m. wouldn’t seem so late. But after spending the day exploring the sites, we were exhausted and ready for bed by 9:00 p.m. The privacy from your neighbors is another issue. You can hear every peep that comes from your neighbors. From whispers to passing gas, you hear it all. Also, they really need to invest in some citronella torches to put around the pool and community area. Trying to eat while you’re getting swarmed by mosquitos is a bit annoying. Bug repellent had almost no effect on these suckers. Lastly, there is almost no lighting in or around the pool. So once the sun goes down, you can no longer see your kids or what’s going on in the pool. All in all, it simply wasn’t the quiet and relaxing Amazon experience we had hoped for. But the location is great and the onsite tour company is very accommodating. The kids enjoyed the pool and we enjoyed the free drinks at the bar.

Review 6:Pros: - Great location - Good food - Open bar - Nice pool - Excellent tour company onsite Cons: - The A/C is only part time - Loud music - Zero insulation from neighbors - No free internet as advertised - Room smells like animal urine - Mosquitos in the eating area - No hot water

Review 7:Very isolated, can not go to Leticia for a night outing because there are no transport at night (understandable as the river is full of floating debris). This caused us a bit of "cabin fever". WiFi available but staff do not divulge the username and password. Cellphone connectivity EXTREMELY POOR. Limited activities available at the hotel. We left a day early and booked into a hotel in Leticia, best move we could have done.

Review 8:Food was acceptable albeit very simple types of meals. The open bar was ok but sometimes had to wait for the bar tender...be careful, they have no idea what a "single tot" is. Setting is beautiful, pool ok but needed more cleaning.

Review 9:The hotel and tours they do are a more sanitised version that going with a local company or to a reserve so preferable to combine the two

Review 10:Pool Location It has been carefully integrated into the forest and is very close to nature

Review 11:Is a kind of big hotel and if you don't want to see a crowd at meal time try to avoid to go on holiday weekend. also ask for the new rooms because there are some rooms where you can hear every thing from the next room. New rooms have good sound isolation.

Review 12:Is awesome to spend the night next to the Amazon river away from the town listening all the sounds from the jungle and with the comfort of a luxurious room. What you can see on the pictures is nothing, you'll be amazed when you get there and see for your self the place. Tip: arrange your day trips directly with a guide in Leticia.

Review 13:We had a hassle to change to the room with right number of beds. You must bring boots.

Review 14:The location right on the Amazon is wonderful.

Review 15:Hotel staff was unorganized, lack of interest in how guests are doing, and at times rude. Very difficult to make your own activities and arrangements. An environmentally-friendly hotel that serves drinks with styrofoam cups and plastic garbage around its eco-trail. Very noisy everywhere. Rooms not well insulated from neighboring noise of other rooms, and very loud music at pool area.

Review 16:Good accomodations.
