Reviews for Swiss Lodge Hotel Bélvedère
Review 1:basic linen & towels basic furnishings very small bathroom shower disappointing but nice hot water
Review 2:spotless fabulous hostess great breakfast good location cute village
Review 3:Nothing!
Review 4:Lovely hotel owners, very friendly and helpful. Super clean hotel, simple rooms but with everything we needed. Wonderful views, pity too chilly to sit on the balcony. Excellent, comprehensive breakfast, not just croissant and jam.
Review 5:Lovely welcome from the owner when we arrived late after flight delayed, who prepared us a traditional Vallais platter for our supper with a nice glass of local Gamay wine. Just what we needed before starting our Tour de Mont Blanc trek the next day. Glad we also booked in here for the end of our trip.
Review 6:Triple room needed for toddler, but the single bed was next to the balcony doors. As such we couldn't leave the door open at night in case our son got up and went out. No air-conditioning meant the room was sweltering. Bed was uncomfortable too, with the thinnest pillow I've ever seen.
Review 7:Stunning location. Great view from room. Excellent coffee.
Review 8:Not easy to get a drink served in the afternoon.
Review 9:The sumptuous breakfast with home made preserves served on Villeroy Bosch no less. Chatting with the proprietress. The view of Monte Rosa from our balcony. The bedroom decor and the good use of space with the curtain around the washbasin and shower. Having forgotten my walking sticks there they're going to return them to me.
Review 10:It is a short walk tp the center of town/lake area but I would still highly recommend it.
Review 11:The hotel was great, very comfortable, welcoming staff and a great breakfast. The view from my room was gorgeous.
Review 12:Very nice hotel in a beautiful village in the mountains next to a lake. We stayed here whilst hiking the Tour du Mont Blanc, it was a welcome and relaxing night's rest for us.
Review 13:My son and I were walking the haute route ant hat day, as it was late in the season, the hut at which we expected to get lunch supplies was closed. We were very hungry and tired when we reached the hotel, too tired to walk back to Champex for a meal. When the owners of the hotel realised that, they served us a lovely meal in the dining room, despite the fact we were the only ones dining, and clearly went to considerable efforts to make sure we were well fed. Their cheerful generosity and good food, made a memorable evening. Followed by a quiet night and good sleep in a room with amazing views. And a very good breakfast.
Review 14:the male proprietor, upon my arrival, accosted me for not speaking French. i tried to stumble through our exchange using the small amount of French I knew, but was ultimately saved by the arrival of the female proprietor. although similarly priced to other hotels in Champex, this was a very expensive stay (compared to the rest of hotel stays along the TMB)
Review 15:the female proprietor was wonderful -- happily spoke in english, and went out of her way to accommodate my requirements. the view from the room was fantastic, and the room was very cute.
Review 16:Rooms are small but comfortable.
Review 17:Loved Irene's cooking. She is an amazing chef. Best mushroom soup and trout dinner we e had during our month in the Alps. She and her family are charming hosts.
Review 18:Everything was great! The owners were very kind and helpfull. The kitchen is really special, like a gourme restaurant. I highly recommend this place!
Review 19:The owners are the heart and soul of this place. I had a spectacular view from my balcony (room 10). The dinner I had @ their cozy restaurant, with a panoramic mountain view that I will never forget, was excellent. My room was so gemütlich, I just HAD TO go to bed by 9. To quote the owner, many guest say, they feel like a squirrel in its nest. I absolutely love the place and will try and return very soon.
Review 20:we spent here a wonderful night in the summer. The hotel has a magical atmosphere, welcoming and worm... The views from our balcony were breath taking! Our room was very clean and has cool design! The food was absolutely extraordinaire! We enjoyed every minute!
Review 21:I loved this hotel, very traditional and homely, lots of wild flowers and wood. We had an evening meal, the steak was one of the best I have tasted and the views superb. Very helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast was good overlooking the deer in the garden. Susan. Scotland
