Reviews for Graf Zeppelin
Review 1:The structure appears historic, but the lobby furniture is starkly modern. The corridors and walls are institutional white, although scarred from suitcases. The decor really is no decor, so stay in the room as little as possible and go out on the beautiful Lake Constance.
Review 2:Located on the opposite side of the Constance business from the lake, the Graf Zeppelin offers a warm, dry place to sleep and a basic breakfast before you go on your way. The staff were pleasant enough, but they just work there. The owners need to do a makeover to remove the rough edges.'
Review 3:I was thinking of spending a week there in summer until it came to check out. The Manager/ower (I think) was at the reception desk on the phone, once he finished the call and passed the phone to his collegue he just walked away and ignored me and I stood there waiting for 10 minutes until the receptionist finished the phone call whilest he was drinking coffee. That has put me off from going again.
Review 4:The Hotel was really nice and in a great location.
Review 5:I found it completely overpriced. We paid 1006 euros for 3 nights for 2 rooms. The photos shown on booking were different from reality. The rooms and bathrooms were very small. We had no space even for our luggage. The staff was bored to assist everyone, very slow service and the restaurant was closed. There was no room service at 9pm as well because they said it was Christmas time. It was a total waste of money.
Review 6:The only good thing was the location. Very close to shops, restaurants and the centre.
Review 7:* Extra bed not comfortable * Parking far away - in a parking garage * Creepy back staircase * Not too many staff - hotel seemed empty - and not safe
Review 8:* Awesome looking hotel - beautiful mural * Great breakfast * Very nice location
Review 9:Parking is somewhat annoying; you need to remember to feed the meter by 9:00 am. Website claims that hotel has a restaurant, but it has been closed in October. This needs to updated.
Review 10:Great location in the very center of town; walking distance too most interesting sites. Very friendly girl at the reception -- who got us tea even when kitchen was closed. Good breakfast, clean room, decent size by European standard, little small by American standard.
Review 11:The space in the room was too small, the sink in the bathroom was too narrow and in the room during the night was too cold and I could not find any way to start the heat from the radiator.
Review 12:The staff at the hotel was nice, the location of the hotel was in the centre of Konstanz.
Review 13:Room had view of interior court; the room window is close to other windows including a window in the hallway, so not enough privacy. Staff overwhelmed during checkin with various tasks.
Review 14:Clean, good location, internet connection okish, very good breakfast.
Review 15:The room was chilly with no central heating, supplementary heating or additional blankets provided. We had to ask for an extra blanket 3 times before going to reception to be told there was only 1 blanket available. There was no telephone in the room so we had to go to reception every time there was a problem, which was many. The wi-fi didn't work, which the staff wouldn't tell us until asked directly. The staff on duty were badly trained and unable to deal with issues which in our view were easily solvable with some basic courtesy and common sense. One male member of staff was particularly unhelpful and very cheeky. There was no manager available during our entire stay.
Review 16:The location of the hotel was very convenient. The ground floor area of the hotel looked well.
Review 17:Situated directly in the old town of Konstanz, only 10 min. walk to the station, 5 min. walk to the next bus stop room and bathroom furnished in a modern way
Review 18:Where to start? From check in to check out, everything was poor. At €480for two nights, I would have been shocked if it had cost €50. The roomwas very small. The shower room was tiny and the shower screen wasbroken in three places, with water pouring out everywhere. The roomshave no privacy - you can hear heavy breathing and everything else nextdoor. The balconies were haphazard, cheap and again without any privacy. For the cost per night, it's the kind of place that should havemerged the top four rooms into two and making them nice and comfortable- instead of cramming in more rooms. It's just not conducive to anyquality. The wifi did not work upstairs. The breakfast, withoutexaggeration was shockingly bad. All cold, flavourless. Even the hardboiled eggs were cold... I've stayed all over the world from highend to low, and this was the worst I've ever had the misfortune toeat. The staff were not helpful... But even worse, on returning from awedding on Sat night with other guests, one couple had a key card thatno longer worked and they were locked out. There was no one working atthe hotel!!!! They tried all the numbers to no avail, and there was notone person that could help. This in a 4 Star Hotel on a Saturday nightwith all the rooms fully booked. Simply unacceptable. Please stay awayfrom this awful hotel and don't waste your money. A tent on a rainyhill with no sleeping bag would be better than this place.
Review 19:The only good thing was the location. Everything else was anembarrassment.
Review 20:very bad internet connection, and no parking...on tuesday and friday morning the parking in front of the hotel is turned into a marketplace so if you park there the police will take your car away at 6AM in the morning...
Review 21:great location, very neat and comfortable, very beautiful exterior and interior
Review 22:there was trouble with the Internet connection, but this was being dealt with at the time.
Review 23:excellent location; staff very understanding and helpful; great breakfast buffet; restaurant on site; busy place, with families and groups.
Review 24:Pillows were lumpy. Could not connect to the WiFi from the room, worked just fine from the restaurant.
Review 25:The location is great and close to underground parking (14€ per day). The staff is very friendly and the breakfast buffet had good variety. L
Review 26:not a big choice for breakfast. 3 spiders in our room. 1 big spider hanging above the bed. however the receptionist was kind enough to clean it
Review 27:great location
Review 28:On The 4th floor, wifi didn't go well there.
Review 29:Good location, several minutes to the lake, very close to the market and shopping area; room is comfortable and cozy.
Review 30:no aircon, no wifi for first 8 hours, some staff great, some staff inflexible. across the road from either a school or a gym used by school children. too loud.
Review 31:the building was a great piece of architecture. very clean.
Review 32:Wifi access via codes from reception but kept disconnecting, requiring new codes each time. Our double room was two single beds pushed together. Half the shutters were broken. No hot water in the morning.
Review 33:Fantastic location in the old town. Friendly staff. Farmers market outside on a Tuesday.
Review 34:A four-person room was the average size of a single - marginally comfortable, even for one night. Especially when you order (select from the hotel's own proposals, as a matter of fact) 4 single beds and get 2 singles and a double. Junior was not amused to share a bed with me. No house parking, so additional cost of parking in a parking house. The street parking only 100 m from the hotel is for locals only between 7 pm and 7 am - and they do not hesitate to come down and shoo you away when you try to park in an almost empty parking site priced the half of the hotel-preferred parking house.
Review 35:Breakfast included, big and tasty, close to everywhere in the city, nice restaurant in situ, nice old building.
Review 36:It was summer and there was no air conditioning (a minor inconvenience). Also the rooms don't separate sound very well.
Review 37:The modern hotel is housed in a beautifully historic building with classic decor throughout. Receptionist was friendly and our room was modern and comfortable. Location was also convenient and around 500m from the main train station. Breakfast was very germanic with a large selection of meats and great. Yes, I wouldn't mind staying here again.
Review 38:1. The Free Wi-Fi was a nightmare = did not work hardly at all in your room, had to use mobile data as back-up. 2. I did not have the use of the mini-bar in my room for ALL of my 4 night stay, as the fridge was broken.I was given all kinds of excuses and promises of it being fixed, then eventually after my pressing them still further, they said that a replacement fridge would be delivered the following week! They had no back-up fridges in the hotel. Bear in mind that we had very hot weather throughout all my stay( the temperature was very hot, around 26-35 degrees C..!
Review 39:Good location and cosy feel to this hotel. Quality of food in their restaurant was excellent. Room was a basic 3 star quality.
Review 40:No air conditioning in room
Review 41:Central location, few minutes from station, and lake Good breakfast which was included in price Good sized shower cubicle, always hot water and good water pressure.
Review 42:For a budget hotel not bad but my room was located over looking the main road which was noisy and the church clock struck every 15 mins all through the night. I had asked for a quiet room!!!
Review 43:Somewhat narrow bathroom and minor issues such as lacking tray in the shower. Somewhat noisier than expected and not so attractive views from most rooms given the location along the narrow street access to St. Stephansplatz from "Untere Laube".
Review 44:Nice atmosphere, nicely designed lobby/lounge. Good breakfast and coffee in an elegant setting. Friendly, polite and professional staff. Perfect location for walks into the city and to the lakefront.
Review 45:We missed a/c in the bedroom especially when the weather reached 34 degrees.
Review 46:Very enjoyable stay, good food and location. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Review 47:very very noisy - first night due to other guests until 5:45 am, second night due to a wedding DJ. reception not open after 11 so no way to address.
Review 48:historic feel, location was great!
Review 49:The parking was not convenient. Paid parking outside the hotel until 8 PM and then had to park down the road in paid parking garage.
Review 50:The friendly staff.
Review 51:Bathroom - broken toilet desk. Bedroom - broken curtains (loosely hanging off on one side). Although the room was very clean and decorated with modern furniture it made a gloomy impression. But I barely spent time there, so I didn't try to talk to the staff about it.
Review 52:The place is really close to all the important historical sites - practically in the Old Town. It's also close to the railway station (5 min on foot) and the lake. The staff is very friendly. Bathroom heated in the morning. Good breakfast with a variety of fruits.
Review 53:Early wake-up due church bells and other noise. Unexpected shifts between automatically generated invoice lines in comparison with booking - "included breakfasts" became separate items, compensated by large discount for the first night. Nothing major, since the end amount matches.
Review 54:Very nice old but well renovated historical building, location near the center within walking distance, reasonable price, clean and reasonably well equipped rooms, friendly staff.
Review 55:Restroom door was very noisy. Sound isolation from neighboring rooms sucks. Some staff was not much helpful (had to go to reception twice to get WiFi working). You need to go to reception to get WiFi credentials, and you also need one per device. The window view was only the elevator shaft.
Review 56:The apartment was clean and comfortable. Heating works as you set it. Some staff members are helpful. Konstanz is small, and the hotel is nicely situated.
Review 57:Dust under the bed, Bed hard, Bathroom ok, Reception/welcome poor, Breakfast terrible, coffee awful, nothing hot to eat, I skipped 2 of my 3 breakfasts as a result, although paid for all.
Review 58:Location. full stop.
Review 59:the room was dark and cold, room facing an elevator shaft (not a great view, indeed) reception closed early, you have to ask for wifi password before the do
Review 60:location is great, city center
Review 61:One and only disfavor, mattress was probably too soft
Review 62:Breakfast was included in the price, good and nicely presented. Room had modern interior and was clean. Wifi signal was strong. Staffs were very friendly and helpful.
Review 63:wifi connection was poor in bedrooms, but didn't detract from our pleasant short stay
Review 64:Building was beautiful, many interesting details to look at. Interconnecting rooms worked well for our family. Even a delightful balcony to use (had it not been snowing!)
Review 65:The three person room we booked contains 1 double bed and a sleeping sofa with 3 times folding mattress, which is rather unconfortable.
Review 66:The location is perfect, directly in the city center.
Review 67:Very poor bedding for our adult daughter Many sloppy details : curtains dropping off, burned table, parts of bathroom door handle coming off, to name but a few.....
Review 68:The dining room, staff and location
Review 69:WIFI didn't work during the first 2 days. I was traveliing with a colleague and the the hotel at first gave us 2 rooms connecetd by a door that could not be locked. It was difficult ro convince them that this was not acceptable. The bathroom service is too poor (just basic soap, not replaced for 9 days).
Review 70:Good location. Good breakfast.
Review 71:No wifi during first 2 days, then it was working well. Rooms a bit small (at least on 5th floor)
Review 72:Friendly staff, clean rooms, specially bathroom. Very nice location in the town center, close to the railway. Breakfast was fair.
Review 73:The room we had faced the street and had to deal with street noice as well as people being very loud at 2-4 in the morning. The room was clean for the most part but there were stains on the white window curtains as well holes in the baseboards of the walls in hallways.
Review 74:The front staff were very friendly and helpful, as were the staff that working in restaurant during the breakfast hour. The building has beutiful artwork painted on it and the restaurant has some beautiful stainglass.
Review 75:Squashy bathroom with hardly any places to put things. Wifi was only good for one device. Parking is a public car park, but not far away.
Review 76:Large breakfast included. Good location. Room adequate.
Review 77:The bathroom and the shower cabin were very small. Wi-Fi didn't work on 4th floor during whole my stay in the hotel.
Review 78:Location is good. 5 min from the lake and from the central railway station.
Review 79:Rooms were dirty. We had many spiders in room - first night was spider hunt. Check-in staff was nice but check- out staff a horror.
Review 80:Nice historical building with good location
Review 81:The wifi didn't work at all, the gal at the desk kept promising she'd get it fixed but never did. The street noise was really bad. There was a lot of engine revving that woke me up out of a dead sleep (and I sleep through almost everything!) The restaurant was closed on Sunday, so that was just bad luck for us. Would have liked to have dined there.
Review 82:Beautiful hotel, liked the decor and the historic feel of this well-maintained building. The service was good, enjoyed the comfortable room, and bathroom. Had a drink in the bar after dinner, friendly and courteous hostess.
Review 83:Nothing the hotel could control - the noisy cars on the street below our window. Really, there is no need for gunning your engines, drivers.
Review 84:The room was clean, comfortable, and European sparse. There was actually a mini bar! Our room overlooked a noisy intersection, which was a bit unfortunate, but the noise died down when it needed to. The restaurant was fantastic - the historical details made the place so special, and the food was delicious!
Review 85:Reception on arrival was a bit basic, no offer of help with info or advice. Restaurant closed But it was Sunday and World Cup Final, maybe everybody preoccupied, no interest in guests.
Review 86:Excellent location on edge of old town. Very attractive decorated building outside, clean and modern inside, good sized room, well furnished, nice comfortable place to stay. Good self service buffet breakfast.
Review 87:If they have a rack in bathroom, we can stay more comfortable.
Review 88:Staffs are very kind, location is good, the building of hotel is very historical and beautiful.
Review 89:Rooms are very basic, small, impersonal and need to be revamped...the faced, the look of the hotel and the location create high expectation, and the services offered, the overall quality is below the standard....disappointing
Review 90:Great location, very nice building, good breakfast, quite expensive, however was a special day and was almost impossible to find a room in konstanz
Review 91:Needs more staff, poor receptionist working the desk and doing breakfast!
Review 92:Location
Review 93:a nice building
Review 94:Bathroom had no heating, was very cold
Review 95:Location is perfect, friendly staff and great breakfast
Review 96:Cleanliness to improve, no window shadows, no sheets (only a mattress cover), uncomfortable bed.

Review 112:Good location. Easy to reach shopping, sights, and restaurants.
Review 113:Surprised that the interior was so modern!
Review 114:Staying in the oldest hotel in Konstanz was great - lots of old features. Family room good value.
Review 115:Wifi didn't work !!
Review 116:Walk to centre. Quiet.
Review 117:Great Staff
Review 118:Lack of air renewal in bedroom
Review 119:Lobby architecture as overall cleaneaness
Review 120:No air conditioner, Poor Wi-Fi in the room.
Review 121:Location, staff, food
Review 122:Hotel was quite scruffy. There was no help with our luggage. Wifi hardly worked.
Review 123:Breakfast ran out. Super loud location. Very hot and no air-con. No fans. Wifi didn't work at all.
Review 124:Central location.
Review 125:Room was extremely hot and uncomfortable - a top floor room in this part of Germany during the summer really needs air conditioning
Review 126:Rooms were modern additions on the 5th floor with no lift above 4th
Review 127:Very attractive old hotel with good access to the town and spectacular lake
Review 128:Wifi stops before check out time
Review 129:Cute Staff and the location is near the train station
