Reviews for ONE80° Hostels Berlin
Review 1:The hostal should improve the WI-FI connection. They were no Internet in the rooms or at the reception. Nowadays, it is untolerable to have a poor network.
Review 2:the location
Review 3:The breakfast is nothing special, considering it costs 6,50€ I would expect something better, with eggs and sausages. It was more of a continental breakfast.
Review 4:The staff was nice and helpful, the room quite big and well soundproofed. Very close to Alexanderplatz where we get the train to and from the airport. One of the guys in reception recommended a pub, very german/Bavarian style, which we loved, and was just round the corner.
Review 5:The room was very very warm, and one of the windows had no handle to open the window, so it wouldn't be cooled down. We were also travelling with a lady in a wheelchair and requested a room that was wheelchair accessible. We did not get this, so it was a little challenging in the room on occasion, and the bathroom was not disabled user friendly. We did however find out on the evening before we checked out, that there is in fact a disabled bathroom on the 3rd floor, which was not mentioned upon our arrival.
Review 6:The breakfast was cracking considering it was an added extra that we were not expecting. The hostel was clean throughout, welcoming and friendly staff, especially Robert on reception. We came to Berlin on a budget, and the hostel far exceeded what we were expecting for the price we paid.
Review 7:Best possible location right next to Alexanderplatz. Everything inside rooms seems to be brand new and very clean. A very friendly and helpful stuff, especially the German guy speaking Russian on the reception. Definitely the best hostel out of all in Berlin I have visited so far.
Review 8:Internet 0/5 - it's by far the worst internet I've used in a hostel! it's impossible to stabilize a good connection, if you're planning to go to this hostel and you'll rely from a connection to use your whatsapp, be aware, you won't be able to send message to your parents! Staff - 0/5 - in the first day, in the morning (8:30 am) 2 cleaners came to "clean" the bathroom, however they spoke very loud, almost yelling,so, they woke me up... I never saw they again. (very poor cleaning, picture attached) I met a guy from the same country, he left his tablet recharging while we had breakfast downstairs, when we came back, his tablet disappeared, we can assume that someone from the staff have stolen it, because the bedroom was empty and it's possible only to enter using a idcard or being a member of the staff which gives you total access to all the rooms. Barman is rude, disgusting... Cleaning 0/5 - two girls left the bedroom at 10 am, another guy made the check in in the same bedroom, they didn't change the bedding, he didn't know, and had a sleep in the same dirty bed. Shower in bathroom was broken, so, water goes directly outside of the bathroom, flooding the bedroom.
Review 9:Localization 5/5 - easy to get there and move around
Review 10:The staff was helpful and show good hospitality , the location of the hostel is too much good near to Alexander platz and also museums , the Brandenburg gate you can reach in few minutes by the public transportation, recommended to any one want to go Berlin . But welcome card it will help you in transportation and will give you discount on almost everything you visit or buy ( they have it )
Review 11:The shower and bathroom were dealt dirty. The incheck procedure took really long because we had to fill in details from all the guests (i was with a Large group and so were others) There was not much space in the rooms The drinks at breakfast were really nasty
Review 12:The price was relatively low for new years eve
Review 13:They charged us for everything.
Review 14:The hostel was clean and new. The location is ok but there are NOT places to go out close to the hostel neither good restaurants.
Review 15:I just felt uncomfortable that the female showers in the 3rd floor did not have curtains to separate shower cubicles so you see other people showering naked.
Review 16:The staff are very friendly and accommodating. I love that they were always smiling.
Review 17:Staff was extremely rude! They need to be trained! If I could take my money back I would not stay one more minute there!
Review 18:Hostel is new. So it is in good condition.
Review 19:I didn't like that you had to pay for towels and toiletries. Wi fi didn't work in peak hours
Review 20:It was really central and clean and really warm during winter.
Review 21:The quality of the wifi was bad and kept dropping off. The cleaning staff kept knocking on our doors at 9 despite us telling them we do not require cleaning.
Review 22:The location was good and the rooms were quiet. Bathrooms were modern and good.
Review 23:The staff didn't seem to be knowledgable about some things, but it was nothing I couldn't google. Overall it was a very nice trip.
Review 24:Although I was in 6 bed hostel, I was alone the entire time! The water got very hot and the heating was very warm. There is also free tap water and many tours and things to do. It's also only a block from Alexanderplatz which is one of the best places in Berlin. The sheets are also free, unlike some other hostels in Berlin.
Review 25:No internet in bedrooms. Very poor range of food for breakfast. Staff could be more proactive in being helpful, in relation to providing advice on local transport and tours.
Review 26:Rooms were very modern, and clean. The following were exceptional: bedroom lockers and suitcase drawers; bed reading lights; building security; ground floor common area.
Review 27:I didn't liked the hidden fees. It would have been better if I paid a little bit more in the initial cost for the stay knowing I would receive all the essentials (towel, shampoo, locker, luggage room space, breakfast, etc) instead of paying for each one separately after arriving in the hostel.
Review 28:I liked the staff, they were polite and helpful. They were giving suggestions and advices about where to go and what to do in the city. I liked the guests. Mostly young people who like to have fun and enjoy life, meeting new people, etc. I liked the location, very central and close to Alexanderplatz.
Review 29:The bed was absolutely terrible, mattresses were 10cm thick. I wouldn't go back. My back was in so much pain after two nights and I couldn't sleep.
Review 30:The bathroom was modern and clean.
Review 31:The breakfast was a little overpriced for what you got. However, I definitely recommend this place for all types of travellers.
Review 32:Perfect location, clean and tidy facilities and great value for money! An ideal choice if you're looking to get away from boring hotels.
Review 33:Most guests simply chose not to use linen, rather than put linen on the beds themselves. This is unhygienic for all involved. Why not put clean linen on fresh beds... Some of the staff were very rude (the worst I have ever had at a hostel) though others were friendly enough.
Review 34:waiter is not so friendly noisy at night
Review 35:Hostel is located in a good location, closed to Station, with a clean room and quite surroundings. Safe and comfortable.
Review 36:A couple of the staff members on the reception desk didn't seem too helpful. But the bar staff were super freindly.
Review 37:How clean and modern the place was :)
Review 38:The price of the rron was very cheap, but you need to pay for everything, as sheeds or towels. They are little bit annoyed to clean the room, they knocked the door 3 or 4 times the same morning and they get into the room directly without ask before, where is the privacy?
Review 39:People in the bar and reception are very nice and they gave us very good advises.
Review 40:Don't find a microwave to hot something to eat or drink; we don't were in the area reserved to the hostel but we had a private room; it maybe this is the cause.
Review 41:I'd like the staff, the courtesy and the availability to give you suggestions about your Berlin's discover, above all the unusual and most interesting Berlin
Review 42:The hotel was a 2 minute walk from the buzz of Alexanderplatz. There was a pub crawl which left the hotel at 9.30pm every evening! This gave great opportunity to meet new people and visit local bars and clubs with discounted drinks as we were part of the tour!
Review 43:the wifi is poor in rooms, there is no soap in the private bathrooms, so bring your own. and no hair dryer as well but you can get one for 20 euro deposit.
Review 44:the location is great. you can reach to the alexanderplatz just in 5 minutes.
Review 45:The disco club was close, checkout time it's too early ( 10:00 ), I think room key should be smart ( using digital number ) it will be an advance feature, lake of hostel activities. If it's possible they can add BBQ night in the empty yard behind bar. TV channel only display political and business news, it should be for sport channels most of the guest are young. Adding area in the reception for video games PS4 or Xbox it will be more attractive.
Review 46:Smart locker, friendly staff, the bar and reception are spacious, location are great, no need to leave the room to take a shower or using toilet.
Review 47:Slow people in the reception and then the reception made a mistake and put up notes everywhere asking for me. Kind of rude I think, better put a note on my door or in my room perhaps?!
Review 48:Ok room.
Review 49:Didn't like the staff. They walk into your room without knocking in the morning or check out. We was a big party and had three rooms on three different floors and a man walked into each room. When telling staff downstairs, they couldn't care less.
Review 50:Loved the rooms me location was fab!
Review 51:Only problem we had was the sink was blocked in our bathroom when we arrived and though we told reception a couple of times nothing was done to fix it. But the room was otherwise fab and putting up with a blocked sink wasn't the worst for such a great place to stay.
Review 52:Great location (5 min walk to Alexanderplatz for the U8 and the express train to the airport), comfortable beds, clean room with loads of storage and modern bathroom facility (really nice shower!). The bar was also good for getting a drink before heading out. It had a nice atmosphere for a hostel - it wasn't trying to pretend to be a frat house
Review 53:First of all-dirty,no service at all. Each visitor himself must prepare their own bed. towels were not available at all. I had to use a pillowcase. and last, they yelled at me when I asked for help.
Review 54:location is very good. Nothing more to say
Review 55:The wifi does not work very well and you have to ask for a username constantly. The lockers in the room work with one kind of locks so you HAVE to buy it from the reception. The reception is a bit slow.
Review 56:The location was the best, walking distance from everything. There is all kind of transportations to everywhere a few blocks from the hostel.
Review 57:This hostel knows nothing about proper client service. When trying totalk politely about the inconvieniences (really bad smell coming outfrom the bathroom), the manager (the guy with dreadlocks) shouted at usand was really offensive, he didn't want to listen to us! Hisaggressive reaction was really impulsive. There was no chance to talkwith him calmy. Really rude person. What is more, we were bitten bybedbugs! Beware of that place!
Review 58:My room smelled a lot, but i think that was my neighbour, so it really depends on your luck, with whom you share your room
Review 59:The location is very central, the staff is friendly and helpful, bed is comfortable, sheets are clean, shower is clean. Locks are available for extra charge. I also liked the bar crawl, was very fun.
Review 60:Service in reception was very slow. Bathroom was entirely empty; no glass, no towels, no hairdryer, not even a soap to wash hands. Everything should be picked up by the reception, upon a payment or free.
Review 61:Central location, rooms quite sound-proof, nice decoration.
Review 62:charging 2.50 euros for a towel, really??? and making the upper bed on your own is very difficult
Review 63:the location is perfect, the room was super clean and comfortable, the wifi was ok even at the 6th floor
Review 64:Wifi was terrible at times, no laundry, common area didn't feel like a real hostel
Review 65:Location was decent, nice common area, rooms were excellent and clean. Lots of space in rooms and felt like I was in a hotel.
Review 66:The lockers in the require big locks as the holes are very far from the edges, so I couldn't lock my belongings.
Review 67:The location was perfect near Alexanderplaza. Clean and comfy. Staff was good.
Review 68:If you go there, don't forget a locker for your personal belongings or buy it by the stuff
Review 69:The rooms are clean and the stuff is very friendly; good place near Alexanderplatz and quite cheap.
Review 70:I did not really enjoy the breakfast as it was limited. The orange juice was clearly watered down. The wifi did not also work in our bedrooms so we had to keep going downstairs to the bar area just to get any access. Very annoying.
Review 71:I liked the location, style of hostels and the variety of entertainment options available. Went on one of the pub crawls which happened to be a lot of fu and a good way to meet people. Highly recommended!
Review 72:The room was dirty when we arrived (we had arranged a room with private bathroom). The toilet was used recently and not cleaned and all bins (both at the toilet and the room) were full of garbage. We informed the receptionist about this but he seemed indifferent. He told us that the room will be cleaned within the next hour but the housekeeper came the next day to clean it. So we had to buy cleaning stuff and cleaned it ourselves. You have to collect linen from a store room next to the reception. The bottom sheets were dirty and could not be used, so we had to use a duvet as bottom sheet. The personnel could be more polite and friendly with the exception of a girl called Stephie which was very friendly and helpful. There was not any prior communication that certain building floors were under renovation for the time we would be there. We only realized this when we reached the hotel. The drilling was starting at 7:30 in the morning so there was not any chance that somebody could sleep from the noise.
Review 73:Very central location/ walking distance from all major attractions of the city Modern building, although the rooms could be more functional (e.g. separate toilet and bath, mirror in the hall) in order to accommodate more persons in parallel
Review 74:Not much choice at breakfast, if you want hot chocolat, you have to pay extra, and even we had payed for breakfast at reservation, they asked us to pay again
Review 75:very clean hotel/room/beds. good location bar if needed they call a taxi for you
Review 76:Long queuing, not very clean mattress and bedding, for one day they don't have towels, stuffy sink
Review 77:Perfect location, near Alexanderplatz (hub of different kind of transport). Bar on the ground floor, perfect modern interior
Review 78:On our check out day, 2 separate cleaning staff unlocked the room between 8:45 to 9:00 without knocking to ask our check out time. We were checking out at 10:00 but did not need someone to open the door without consent. What if we were naked just out of the shower?
Review 79:It was very clean and very sound-proof. An excellent sleep for being so close to the Mitte. Very smiley and friendly staff and comfortable environment for chillin' downstairs to have a beer and socialize.
Review 80:You have to pay for everything, also for the lockers. in the bathroom wasnt any soap, the Wi-Fi is so bad and slowly. The check out is so early... Is at 10 am
Review 81:Is in a very good position
Review 82:the safety metal boxes don't have a padlock, you have to buy one. No towels included, have to rent them
Review 83:clean bathroom and room, the storage room for luggage
Review 84:The wifi never worked in the room, I had to get a new wifi code several times because it stopped working. Annoying. I also needed to get a new room card TWICE because it stopped working. Staff was never very apologetic about any of the issues.
Review 85:Location of the hostel is good.
Review 86:You need to pay more if you want towel (2€), breakfast (5-6,5€), lock to your locker (4€) and so on.. In bathrooms there is only toiletpaper (if even that..). No handsoap etc. Small lockers really don't work. If you have lock on it, it can still be opened with little tricks. The big locker box under your bed is of course safety but there is not them for all. There is bar but its open rarely. There is no kitchen or kettle to use. Cleaners usually came in rooms 7-9am and didn't really care if there was someone still sleeping. They were really noisy and talked to each other loudly all the time.
Review 87:Location is good. Near by Alexanderplatz and metro/tram. Nice decoration in rooms and common area.
Review 88:The staff wasn't very friendly and welcoming so I didn't feel at home in the common area. I also had to pay to store my luggage for the day.
Review 89:The room was quite spacious (8 person dorm) with lots of storage space for personal items that could be secured with a lock. The location was great and within walking distance to most of the main attractions.
Review 90:we were on the first floor on the street side. I was very noisy !
Review 91:Close to the city Close to the tram and metro (Alexanderplatz) Clean Nice spacious lockers
Review 92:The elevators are downright terrible because of the number of people staying on the lower floors. Despite being on floor 9, we still normally took the stairs rather than wait 15 minutes for an elevator.
Review 93:Overall we had a perfectly pleasant experience. Our 4-person room was clean and had a good size bathroom. The beds were reasonably comfortable. As far as hostels go, this was a pretty good one.
Review 94:One member of staff was rude, wasn't very helpful and very short but I think this is just the German way as we struggled a lot with rude people while out there.
Review 95:The hotels location, staff and amenaties were flawless, great place to stay and drink!
Review 96:Nothing!
Review 97:The location was definitely a plus cause we were super close to everything! The only taxi service we had to pay for was to and from the airport which is expected!
Review 98:We got there around 11am knowing full well we couldn't check in. So had to pay for luggage storage which was fine. We then returned at 4pm to find out our room still wasn't ready as there had been a mess up with the cleaners. We asked when it would be ready to get the answer "no idea" we were not the only people to be in this situation. No Alternative was offered so we had to just sit in the bar for around 3 hours to keep asking about our room. Really poor service.
Review 99:Good location for beer festival and bar crawls. Comfy beds.
Review 100:The breakfast was not worth the E5.90 I paid, it was just bread rolls, sliced meat/cheese, and cereal. Also the bar closes at midnight (boo!)
Review 101:Absolutely spotless and very nice modern decor, lovely staff, good security, a short walk to a lot of the tourist sites and a short train ride to others. Excellent value for money :)
Review 102:Clean and comfortable and fantastic location, a very short walk from Alexanderplatz and subway station. Stayed there one night as I wanted to extend my trip and wished i spent the whole time in Berlin at this hostel.
Review 103:There was a problem with the bed distribution in my room. New people arrived and occupied beds that had already someone in them, which caused some problems at dawn. To compensate for this, the staff offered us a free breakfast, which was a nice gesture.
Review 104:Very well located, near Alexanderplatz. The rooms were clean and well decorated. Even though the hostel had a club underneath, it was not too noisy.
Review 105:Was disappointed with the bar and "club" If you're looking for a hostel with good nightlife, this isn't it. Not very social either.
Review 106:The location was good.
Review 107:Staff were direct and not particularly friendly. Typical hostel with loud music in reception. One lift was out of order making for very long waits to use. A guest had vomitted in the working lift by 1730 making for a smelly and disgusting ride! Definitely more of a party-goers place.
Review 108:Good location near Alexanderplatz makes it easy to get around.
Review 109:My friends had problems with bed allocation, but the hostel gave for all roommates one free breakfast voucher because of this. The room wasn't cleaned up during my stay (thursday to sunday). Somebody has retched on the elevator and on the hall, but they didn't clean up it well. Actually they just cleaned up the elevator, the hall was cleaned up just the other day after. The wi-fi is good when it works... they keep changing the login and password more than once in one hour (they say that is for renewing the users) this is boring. Towel rent cost 2.5 euros.
Review 110:Location is the key for this hostel. Toilets and bathrooms are inside the room and they're independent one of another. Beds are very good and each one has its own light and two sockets. Breakfast was very simple but for 5.9 euros it's OK. The room size is Ok for 6 beds. You can lock your belongings in the lockers, but remember to take a medium/big padlock with you, small ones won't work (they have padlocks to sell 4 euros). They also have big locker in the basement (but you have to pay). It's very good for those who like the hostels atmosphere.
Review 111:Sound of traffic is super noisy so it may be hard to sleep if you're not having earplugs.
Review 112:Easy to find, fun staff and nice bar! Interesting interior.
Review 113:- sometimes long waiting time for the elevator, as there are only 2 elevators for several floors - WiFi was quite slow
Review 114:+ Well situated hostel. + Overall good value for money. + Although there were many travellers staying at the hostel, it was really calm in our 4-bed-room (probably thanks to good isolation)
Review 115:They got out reservation /room type wrong but we met cool people and it worked out for the best !.:)
Review 116:Staff were relaxed and friendly . It was very central and good value .
Review 117:The mattress was really, really uncomfortable. I stayed a week and had a sore back every morning. As soon as I moved on, the sore back disappeared. Would have also liked lockable lockers in the dorm not just drawers/cupboards.
Review 118:Staff are lovely & location is ideal for visiting city. Very modern & busy hostel but rooms are surprisingly quiet & fairly spacious. Adjoining bathroom also lovely & clean (which is always a good thing!)
Review 119:I literally have nothing to complain about
Review 120:The staff were so helpful, upbeat and really fun. The location was amazing, the hostel itself was so clean too.
Review 121:It was a great place for a solo female backpacker. Close to metro and a tram with really helpfull staff and comfy beds. I've stayed in 8 persons room which was big and with two bathrooms. There is a bar downstairs however the room was very quiet
Review 122:Nothing as such.
Review 123:Excellent experience overall, nice clean and tidy rooms. Bathrooms are just like a hotel, people are very decent and the staff is really helpful.
Review 124:Windows of the rooms did not isolate noise from a very busy traffic where of the street where the hostel is located.
Review 125:Location, design, and modern hip athmosphere. You could stay relaxed in the pleasennt lobby forever!
Review 126:roommates were crazy, it is not a excuse of the hostel but they annoyed me a lot. And also there is no soap in the toilet.
Review 127:Location was great. Reception was helpfull
Review 128:I wouldn't recommend this hostel. I stayed for 5 nights and had a number of issues: 1. I had to queue for more than an hour just to check in. 2. Some of my things went missing when the staff 'cleaned' my room. The staff had a terrible attitude when I enquired about this and I never got them back. 3. At one point the 6-bed dorm was empty except for me, but they allocated the only bed that was taken (mine) to another person. 4. Even after I paid to use the dryer at the hostel, my clothes came out soaking wet. As a result I had to pay even more money to store my luggage after I'd checked out just so that I could dry my clothes again (the hostel charges a fee to store luggage there).
Review 129:this hotel is little bit narrow and wifi connection is not good, but located near the Alexander platz! it's a important factor when you booking a hotel!
Review 130:-Chose a female dormitory - but ended up with guys in the room! -Chose breakfast for 6 days - Staff at reception told me it was an extra i needed to pay..even when i showed him the invoice with the already paid amount!
Review 131:Nice ambiance Nice facilities Decoration is as showed on website - no lies
Review 132:Wifi single is very weak in room. The cleaning staff is not always clean the room very well.
Review 133:Good breakfast. Great location near the Alexanderplatz and Alexa. Enough space in room (8-bed mixed room).
Review 134:The Wifi does not work in any of the rooms I went into. It works in thelobby and nowhere else. The lockers in the basement were too small andalways full. The rooms got warm and there is no air conditioning, only aproblem in the summer. For the whole 5 days the photobooth did not work. The downstairs club is closed in the long term due to short staffing. Noalcohol allowed in the rooms, although this may be a nationwide hostelpolicy. Cleaners came in at 11am when we were still there and asleep andcleaned around us making a bit of noise. Don't buy the drinks there, expensive! Not enough seats for 6 in a 6 person room.
Review 135:The staff are great, very helpful and are very efficient. They knowtheir jobs well and do everything they can quickly. The computers in thelobby were fine, a bit slow but they worked. The hostel hooks you upwith good clubbing deals, half price on Electric Mondays (Kitkat) andgood deals on pub crawls which were great fun. Take a look at thetickets on the wall near the entrance, loads of deals. Perfect location,3 mins from major U/S-bahn station. Near to some goodclothes/food shops. About 10-12 mins from a lidl. Perfect for foodand drinks.
Review 136:Everything else. Horribly rude and unconcerned staff. Impossible to connect to the internet. Takes 30 mins to get anything done. No AC. Bathrooms are broken and when working have no doors or privacy. You're in a city where you can drink on the street but booze is not allowed in. Just don't bother. Trust me. It would ruin your holiday.
Review 137:It was relatively cheap.
Review 138:Wifi is not that good, there's no air conditioning (high summer it may be a problem), you need to take care of the sheets for your bed in my case I arrived there and the other guest hadn't removed their's as it should be done.
Review 139:The place is very well decorated with modern furniture and a good space even in the baths.
Review 140:5,90 for breakfast is kind of expensive, and it would be better if the the staff would make up the bed instead off that the guest have to do it themselfs, it is hard to do it you sleep up at a bunk bed.
Review 141:the lounge was comfy and nice, the staff was very helpfull with all the question I had especially that British guy.
