Reviews for Ubytovna Marie

Review 1:Overpriced for a room with shared bathroom, very old furniture, blankets were a bit dirty and shattered.

Review 2:Location is great, near to the main square. Separate man/woman bathrooms. Average experience overall.

Review 3:The 8.4 rating is a bit deceptive. The location is very good, but the accommodation itself could do a lot of things better. There were ladybugs flying around our room, the towels are tiny, there is a washing machine but no drier, no hand towels/drier in the toilets, pillows are uncomfortable, no TVs, have to make and unmake your own bed. Essentially it is a cheap and basic hostel, although there is no common area and no real atmosphere to it.

Review 4:Location, kitchen, price

Review 5:Location in the historic centre :) Everyhing is clean and for my big surprise there was a fridge on the room. I think it is the best what you can get for this price :)

Review 6:There was only cold water in the toilet.

Review 7:First of all, Ubytovna Marie is easy to find (right along one of the main streets) and it is 2 minutes from the town's main square/centre. The rooms and all the other facilities were perfectly clean, the beds comfortable, the room was spacious enough for the two of us. The showers are big and we always had hot water running. The kitchen is well-equipped and every room has its own little cupboard with their own plates, mugs etc. I can recommend Ubytovna Marie for anyone.

Review 8:There is no lift and shower room is not convenient. Most of important, the hostel will ask you to cover the bed sheet, odd!

Review 9:Although the reception does not accept the Euro dollars, but after several explaination, she did and advise the good restuarant nearby.

Review 10:It could be a little noisy cause it is in front of a busy avenue with the tram going by...

Review 11:The money that I paid was ridiculous comparing all the commodities this place offers

Review 12:The only thing I didnt like is to have to carry my bed sheets with me on day one and last day back to the reception:-). But that is minor problem more attributed to my laziness

Review 13:Great staff, for the price really adequite housing, very very clean

Review 14:Reception is open for few hours a day Lack of "common spaces" to socialize Hot rooms despite the warm temperatures outside (15ºC) Noisy outside (the main belt around the Old Town)

Review 15:Excellent location Receptiionist helped me to book a taxi for my departure day (at 6 am) Very clean (rooms, bathroom, etc) Very cheap

Review 16:I couldn't arrive before check-in closing time at 20:00 because of traffic jams in Vienna. I called them to leave me key somewhere or anything - all they said was, be there tomorrow at 7AM. And I said should I sleep in the car?? And again we work only from 7AM. You need to find a way to help your guests!!!

Review 17:Decent, clean and cheap place for few nights stay.

Review 18:Like staying in a college dorm. The bathrooms and kitchen were kept very clean. Each room had their own locked cupboard in the kitchen with their own set of dishes.

Review 19:First did not understand how to keep the shower running because there is only a sign in Czech.

Review 20:Great location and finally someone how understood some English. Value for money is just amazing and even though you shair bathroom facilities everything proper and clean all the time.

Review 21:Was a delight, fresh smell as you walk in and greeted by a very attractive receptionist. The staff spoke English and always greeted you with a smile. The room was clean and in top condition. Would stay again.

Review 22:The staff's ability to communicate in English could have been a bit better, especially if they want to attract English tourists. But we were in the Czech Republic after all :)

Review 23:The location is superb. Getting there from the train station is really easy with the trams, if you know where to go. It's located right by a tram stop.

Review 24:- Definitely a hotel vibe

Review 25:- Got the whole dorm to myself and that was awesome. - Clean - Nice with the mini fridge in the room - Cool that each room had their own eating utensils in the kitchen - Great location near the tram and major sights

Review 26:Directions to get there were hopeless and no help whatsoever. Also a lot of single men there which could be s little uncomfortable but mostly it was fine. Reception staffs English wasn't great either which made it a little difficult.

Review 27:Pretty clean hotel in s good location

Review 28:Bedding and towels are provided, but you have to put them on yourself Most rooms with shared bath

Review 29:Location - downtown location, with easy tram access to both train station and many attractions. Short walking distance to all downtown areas. Clean, budget friendly Kitchen area

Review 30:A pity that the curtains do not darken the room (to keep heat out in day, and sun in morning)

Review 31:Simple hostel few stops from railway station. Clean, friendly englisg speaking staff.

Review 32:Nothing

Review 33:Room well appointed with desk and fridge, excellent wifi and less than 5 min walk from the main square. I arrived early and they let me drop my luggage there at 10am so I could start my day of visit.

Review 34:No wheelchair access & if you struggle with stairs then be sure to book well in advance in order to secure a ground floor room.

Review 35:Great rooms & facilities, everything immaculately kept & presented. Very friendly staff.

Review 36:Stinky, dirty, loud at night - feel like it was better to sleep on the street :) Didnt sleep at all because of the noice, couldnt have shower in the morning as someone vomitted in the bathroom and the stuff was unwilling to clean it up at the moment.

Review 37:Good position

Review 38:During the last day of our stay in Olomouc, after the check-out, there was no option to leave our luggage at the hotel, e.g. in the reception and pick it up in the afternoon.

Review 39:- location - price - purity

Review 40:The location is nice. Staff are friendly. And good facility. More like student dormitory, not much chance to meet people. But neighbors were easy to be very noisy...

Review 41:At the midnight, I need to plan for the sightseeing schedule, but the wifi connection completely broke down and no one could help me with that.

Review 42:This hotel is located besides the main street which has convenient transportation. The price is very low and affordable for the tourist who don't care too much about the service.

Review 43:The towels were smaller than we're used to, the bed a little firmer, and it would have been nice to have a shared refrigerator in the kitchen downstairs so we didn't have to carry our things from the fourth floor every time. But other than that, nothing we didn't like.

Review 44:We had a lovely time at Ubytovna Marie. Other than the long climb up to the fourth floor (good exercise anyway), we have no complaints. The room and facilities were clean, comfortable, and more than sufficient for our 9 day stay. It was in convenient walking distance of all we could want. The staff were friendly and helpful. We'd definitely stay here again if we revisit Olomouc!

Review 45:There are only some minor drawbacks: noisy street, shared toilet andbathroom, you have to make the bed and the sheets by yourself

Review 46:Nice cheap accommodation in the centre of Olomouc with kind and helpfulstaff. Simple, clean rooms. Great price. W-Fi for free and well working.Well equipped shared kitchen. I do recommend this hotel.

Review 47:nothing

Review 48:very easy to get to from train station, just straight walking for 30 minutes. staff was very helpful and friendly and the place was very clean.

Review 49:Reception until 8 p.m. only - encourages loud behaviour of some guests in the nighttime.

Review 50:Perfect cleanliness. Well thought-out organization. Kitchen utilities.

Review 51:Bathrooms were a little uncomfortable The windows are directed to the street, so there are noises from the cars and trams Cleanliness could be better.

Review 52:Good location Good value/price

Review 53:- quite noisy place (it's close to one of the main roads and you can hear cars and trams; is located next to pubs and bars and at night it might appear screams and noises).

Review 54:- good localization (in the center); - close to bus and tram stop; - price; - good communication with stuff.

Review 55:The hostel is located only a five-minute walk to the very downtown of Olomouc, but unfortunately too close to the noisy main road. Even when the window is shut, one can hear the tram and car traffic from early morning to late night. This is the reason why we changed the accomodation after the first night. Otherwise we liked the hostel, which makes a simple, clean, and exceptionally safe impression. The facilities include a fridge in each small room, shared bathrooms on each floor, and a shared kitchen in the basement. Parking nearby the hostel is free between 6 PM and 9 AM, otherwise 20 CZK per hour.

Review 56:Great value for money, amazing location

Review 57:Some mates on my floor were not nice.

Review 58:Staff and equiped kitchen.

Review 59:Nice staff and very good location.

Review 60:---

Review 61:Really close to city centre. The room is cheaper, if you stay longer than one night.

Review 62:everything.

Review 63:Helpful staff.

Review 64:helpful and friendly staff, fantastic location near heart of Olomouc, very clean

Review 65:Cheap hostel Near center of Olomouc Near Moritz brewery and pub

Review 66:Having the fridge was great, it was +40 C outside; great thanks to Bogdana for letting know places around the town.

Review 67:really stupid shower

Review 68:excelent location good price fast check-in

Review 69:Noise on street.

Review 70:Cleanliness

Review 71:Check in was fast, check out even faster. Good wifi signal. Clean, clean, clean.

Review 72:Excellent location, two streets of the main square. Tram, shops & restaurants nearby. Price.

Review 73:Small room, convenient location and next to center but on a busy street.

Review 74:Very clean, well maintained, conveniently located by a tram stop

Review 75:Čistota, perfektní poloha - přímo v centru Olomouce. Na pokoji lednice. Určitě doporučuji.

Review 76:Bring tour own shampoo and soap.

Review 77:Staff, proximity, fast wifi

Review 78:The internet connection is good. The room is small but it is enough for stay.

Review 79:relaxing room, great location

Review 80:You have to check in at maximum 20h00 or else no room.

Review 81:Location is perfect 5-10 min from everything

Review 82:Very close to main square and many tram and bus lines.

Review 83:obcasny nocni hluk na chodbe, ktery je slyset i v pokoji

Review 84:dobre ubytovani za dobrou cenu na dobrem miste

Review 85:Only the female receptionist...czech people don't speak english in 2014!!!!

Review 86:small bed

Review 87:location

Review 88:Good location and good value for money.

Review 89:- location - cleanness - good wifi

Review 90:No breakfast included, more like student accomodation.

Review 91:Good location, clean, kitchen

Review 92:Trams were loud at night, but we couldn't shut the window, otherwise there was no air in the room.

Review 93:Great location, clean and friendly!

Review 94:Very clean hostel with great location in Olomouc centre. Good and helpful staff.

Review 95:basic, cheap (especially if you book for several day), centrally located.

Review 96:Good location to the historic sites and very friendly staff.

Review 97:Excellent location 10 minutes walking from The Main Square. Good quality for small price

Review 98:One shower and WC for the floor.

Review 99:Great place and price!

Review 100:one bathroom with one shower only per floor, so it is for I guess 6- 8 rooms. This is not good

Review 101:close to centre

Review 102:Clean place Friendly staff Good wifi Modern facilities Cooking facilities Good location

Review 103:the kitchen is wonderful!

Review 104:Location &staff

Review 105:The smelly kitchen, plates and utensils. It was just yuck!

Review 106:Cleanness and closeness to the city center. The location + value for money is hard to beat, I guess.

Review 107:All good no complaints

Review 108:Good location easy to find. No frills lodging, good value for money. Good security. Close to the center, pubs and restaurants close by.

Review 109:It was a bit cold in the room, probably because of bad windows (-10 degrees outside...)

Review 110:Nice and tidy place. You have everyting necessary there - public bathroom, kitchen with disher for your use and coffee machine :)

Review 111:Rooms have pretty thin doors so you can hear what's going on in the corridor, for us it was fine ('cause there were not too many people at the time) but I guess in the high season it can be a bit loud. And there's just one bathroom for many rooms. But considering the good price, it's ok.

Review 112:The room was very clean and bathrooms too. It's all very basic, but good enough to spend one or two nights. It looks a bit like a student house, all rooms alongside one big corridor and the kitchen in the basement (but clean and well equipped). The location is perfect, just few steps from the old city center. And WiFi was working fine. Parking is possible on the nearby streets (20 CZK for 2h), there is also a privite parking on the other side of the street (cost about 150CZK/day). It was quite easy to find a place to park the car even for New Year's Eve. The hotel was good value for money.

Review 113:I would suggest finding a way to put in screens so that people can open their windows without little, flying beetles coming in. Also, I realize this is a very old building, (which is part of the charm of staying here), but there was clearly a mold problem in the kitchen area and in the hallway nearby. The smell of mold was so strong that I decided to eat out, or store food in the fridge that didn't need to be cooked.

Review 114:Most of the people on the staff were friendly and spoke English pretty well. They were responsive to my needs and concerns. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable and clean. The price was very affordable and the location was great, close to where I needed to be! I loved walking through the historical center from the hostel and back. It was a very lovely walk and a lovely city to visit.

Review 115:A lamp by one of the beds for those who like to read a book beforefalling to sleep would be nice.

Review 116:A cheap but still clean place to stay when in town. Other locations arenicer, but they are very easy to reach when walking around town. Closeto great bars and restaurants, including Moritz Pivovar and Drápal.Close to the fantastic park. Great view of the aveny Svobodý (no,I'm not being ironic).

Review 117:As usual the European beds were a bit on the hard side and took a bit ofgetting used to. Otherwise there was nothing I did not like.

Review 118:The staff were helpful, spoke good English and were knowledgeable aboutthe city. The facilities were excellent; I think it may have beenrecently remodeled. They have washing machines for laundry, there is avery nice kitchen for preparing your own food and the cleaning serviceladies were there every day. They also have a nice tv Lounge

Review 119:The noise that carried from the other rooms and slamming of the doors was a real problem. We were on the 2nd floor and the slamming of the front door as people came and left the pension shook the bed! It was a very long and uncomfortable 2 nights stay. I would not stay here based soley on the noise. Maybe out of season it would be better

Review 120:Great location on the edge of the old town. Parking (if you can find a spot) at the front of the pension. You can buy parking tickets from reception as it is 2 hr max parking. Clean room.

Review 121:All the rooms in second floor were sharing 2 bathrooms. Pensiondescription is misleading, it sounds like only two rooms are sharing thebathroom but in fact it is not true.
