Reviews for Plus Berlin
Review 1:Nothing !
Review 2:The hostel is just amazing The room is big enough and toilet very clean The area is also good and the breakfast is amazing !!!!! U should try it
Review 3:The halls are very big and noisy. If you have trouble with the ecco bring earplugs. Im a light sleeper but earplugs did the job ;)
Review 4:Very nice and helpful staff. There is a good energy in the checkin area. The room was good with a good bed and large pillows. I traveled with my daughter (10 years) we asked for a quiet room and got it. We had the pool to ourselfes all 3 days. A nice warm pool area, good for kids (only 90 cm). We enjoyed the stay and it was a very good price.
Review 5:very friendly and helpful staff, room was big and comfortable and the hotel really close to the east side gallery. very nice places around at night to have fun
Review 6:Beautiful, comfortable, large, clean room with two beds. Huge clean bathroom with nice shower. Towels, soap, shampoo, bathing cap. Friendly and kind staff! Swimming pool and sauna. Just everything we need.
Review 7:Only downside that outside area (U-bahn/S-bahn Warschauer Platz) is quite dirty
Review 8:Close to Berlin Wall (East side gallery), Mercedes Arena (O2 Arena), a lot of parking place, Lidl store, Matrix Club for technofans, Opera Bar-Restaurant open for late night, clean, good breakfast, I can recommend
Review 9:Lightening is not enough so that the room looks a little bit dark.
Review 10:Staffs are very nice. On Christmas Eve, they visited our room and sent some gift chocolates to us
Review 11:Trucks started loading containers at 5 am in the morning right outside our window. there is no double glazing, so the noise was pretty unbearable. shower was not great.
Review 12:This is a fun place, in a fun trendy area. It is more of a hostel then a hotel, but private rooms are available. its hosted in a converted public building of the last century and has impressive high ceilings and spacious halls and rooms. There is a swimming pool and nice common areas. The rooms are fine, beds comfortable.
Review 13:Do not stay at top floor (4th floor) in cold winter since no heating at all. Staff sent one radiator but not functional at all, then came with mini-radiator which was not helpful at all. After 3 more hours, insisted to change the room. 3rd floor was much warmer but one out of 2 radiators was not functioned well. No heating at bathroom also... also noises came from upper floor and corridor from time to time.
Review 14:Location and free parking nearby.
Review 15:Rooms are separated class rooms of former school and were a little noisy. Room furnish is very basic. Indoor pool opens very late in the morning (10:00).
Review 16:Very friendly and helpful staff. Convenient location of the hotel close to the S-Bahn.
Review 17:Thin walls, noise from the halls and rooms next door in the evenings. Kitchen smells in the halls around breakfast time. Staff had forgotten to do requests confirmed by them via e-mail before our arrival. Sauna not up to standards; no (cold) showers near, no thermometer or timer, door does not shut properly. Had the feeling the hygiene in the pool area is not really checked. The neighbourhood has an alternative vibe. Some clubs in the street. Could be considered quite rough if you're not into that. No cozy cafés nearby.
Review 18:Near public transport, good for sightseeing. City center and train stations only short ride away. Size, design and cleanliness of the room. We liked the building and the design / artwork. Cheap coffee and drinks machines in the lobby. Price of the breakfast is good and the breakfast hall is big, but we did not use it. Good bar / restaurant and courtyard to relax before & after exploring the city.
Review 19:There was no heating the first night, but they sorted out the problem promptly. They offer good variety of food, of average quality, good value for money. There is no phone in the rooms, so one has to go to the reception for any request. It is a long walk given the size of the hotel.
Review 20:Very spacious, close to tube and restaurants, good wifi, delightful swimming pool and sauna.
Review 21:I had a lot of trouble connecting to wifi throughout my stay - it sometimes too half an hour of trying for my phone to connect. Not the world's worst tragedy of course, but frustrating.
Review 22:Great location near public transportation and walking distance from the East Side Gallery.
Review 23:Going home....
Review 24:Very young vibe, excellent staff and facilities and great value, in a location that is extremely convenient without being noisy at night. Very well connected with S and U-Bahn.
Review 25:The beds are not very comfortable and the pillows nothing at all. Some of the days we got very old towels with holes and super tatty (those old towels that one can find in his granny house from the 50's). They changed them every day despite the sign "Lets save water etc and re-use the towels" I just wanted to keep that new towel without holes! The heat in the common areas was super high (unbearable sometimes)
Review 26:The staff is really nice. The location is good because it is 200m away from the wall, 100m away from a U and S station and there's a Lidl next to it. This is very convenient to buy stuff for breakfast and light dinner (there's a common area in the hotel with a microwave and coffee machine). The building is also very nice and our room was huge (2 twin bed room). You expect to find only young people but there was a nice mix of ages in the end.
Review 27:This was most probably one of the best stays I've had. Well worth the money. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel was in the best location, literally opposite the train station and felt safe around. It was like an old boarding school turned into a hotel/hostel which made it a good experience. The rooms were big and very clean. The communal area by reception was so comforting. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to my friends. Didn't have any problems during my stay.
Review 28:Breakfast was not included in the price and it would have been very expensive for our entire family to eat. Thankfully the Lidl was a close walking distance.
Review 29:Excellent location
Review 30:Very noisy, one receptionist was very rude and heronic and he insulted us, breaking into our room before the quite hour. The family room (four people) was a lot smaller than the other one ( three people).
Review 31:The bar, the pool, good service of the reception, good facilities, close to the metro and subway.
Review 32:The room was a bit warm and the beans were running low towards the end of breakfast.
Review 33:Ideally located for nightlife in Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain. Huge room, comfy beds, huge bathroom and walk in shower. Friendly staff and not in a corporate way. Extras like swimming pool, sauna, bar, art installations, and Christmas decorations. Despite the encouraging pictures, given the price, I was suspicious as to what we would find when we arrived but this place is just simply amazing value for money.
Review 34:The spa area was unfortunately only accessible from the outside through the basement. The changing area was dark and small. The pool itself was only about 1.20m deep and the water was quite cold. Our room was right next to the restaurant / breakfast room. Because the hall doors were always kept open, it smelled constantly after fried food even at night. It was also quite noisy.
Review 35:The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The atmosphere in the foyer was inviting and inspiring. Ultimately, the value for money for overnight stay / breakfast can be assessed as very good.
Review 36:Swimming pool wasn't very clean and had an unpleasant smell at the far end of the pool.
Review 37:Staff were excellent-very friendly and helpful. Rooms we're spacious and clean, shower was excellent.
Review 38:Rooms are tiny with bunk beds. Not perfect option for families. No private parking - only public but find a spot can be difficult.
Review 39:Location is Very good. Nice old style, loft building (olf school or government agenda) upgraded to hotel in DDR look style.
Review 40:The room only had one window which appeared to have a blind stuck to it so no natural light came into the room. No simple hook on the door to hang coats but they can afford to fit a shaving mirror and hairdryer in the bathroom.
Review 41:Location is great...right between the old east and west divide/near the remaining part of the wall. Also it's just around the corner from transport links into the main city centre. Our room wasn't quite ready but we were just in time for a free walking tour that left direct from the hostel. Room was large and the shower is the best hostel shower I've had the please of using.
Review 42:breakfast overcrowded, no shelfs in bathroom (just small detail, but it would make mornings easier ;) ), no "don't disturb" sign so the cleaning ladies came in, when we were sleeping
Review 43:location, size of the room
Review 44:it's cold in room, the heating device works from time to time.
Review 45:the swimming pool is free, but only 90cm. transportation is good, U-ban and S-ban r not far.
Review 46:I ddint like that our first room looked like a storage room, without any sockets. Of course we changed the room. In the second room heating wasnt working. Still sth :)
Review 47:I liked the option of sauna and a pool. Very handy after walking all day in rainy Berlin :)
Review 48:none
Review 49:Everything was excellent. we stayed 3 nights. Our triple room was huge and very clean. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody. very close to a tube station, local shops and to the center of Berlin.
Review 50:We absolutely enjoyed our stay!! The hotel is located close to metro station so easy access to center. Staff super friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and very clean. We had everything we needed.
Review 51:Nothing. We were well looked after.
Review 52:We enjoyed the fantastic building, the lively atmosphere of the place and the superb location, right next to public transport and around the corner from the East Side Gallery. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. We asked for a quiet room and were not disappointed. Even though the hotel is huge, we felt cosy in our room.
Review 53:TV too small Reception and lobby area congestion Towels threadbare
Review 54:Staff very cheerful and helpful. Excellent breakfast for €6.50 Huge comfortable room
Review 55:when we were paying for our room my friend didn't get the right amount of money back (but that was his fault), so check before you leave the reception wifi didn't work properly
Review 56:very close to the public transport and a supermarket the hotel is perfect for young people, great vibes staff was helpful after checking out you can put your things in a protected lugguage room the Berlin wall is within 2 mins walking
Review 57:There was a problem with the shower - it would stop every 8 seconds and the button had to be pushed again and again.
Review 58:Plus Hotel is always perfect for my concert trips, because of the location - 10 min. away from Merzedes-Benz Arena.
Review 59:I was surprised to get such a nice hotel in Berlin without having to spend a lot more money. The rooms were big and clean, the location of the hotel is really central and the breakfast buffet had a lot to offer. Sadly, we didn't have time to enjoy the indoor pool.
Review 60:Room had only tiny little window in ceiling. Breakfast room very crowded and with a long wait before getting seated.
Review 61:Excellent location if going to event in Mercedes Bents Arena!!
Review 62:We had a twin room and it was spacious, clean and the building itself was superb for a hostel. Although not in the centre, location was good near the train station and to the East Side gallery. We didn't have the breakfast or use the other facilities so I can't comment on those. It was great that the free walking tour company walked us tp the starting point of the tour.
Review 63:- Easy to get lost in the building - Working hours of the restaurant could be longer
Review 64:+ Super friendly staff + Convenient location + Very good price/quality ratio
Review 65:Everything was great
Review 66:The apartment was an excellent value for money - stylish, cozy, clean and just 5 min walk to main square with all interesting city sights. Owner was very helpful in showing us around so next m time we are in Skopje will come back for sure.
Review 67:it was hard to find the hotel in the dark and the house itself with the directions given was very confusing, i.e. I could not find the room at first. When I went back to reception, they gave me a room within the range of the elevator, which only covers up to the third floor. The Pool was only accessible via the inner court, so one had to go outside even with nasty weather. Pool is only 90cm deep. There were no showers for after the sauna use, so there was no other choice than to use the pool ... no sauna etiquette as well.
Review 68:The room and bath were very clean.
Review 69:The neighborhood it's kind of... alternative (scary)
Review 70:Very cool place! It's a big venture with bar, pool, a big garden to hang out. It's very cool
Review 71:Heat pump didnt work in our very large room. Problem mentioned to staff but wasn't fixed during our stay.
Review 72:Great location, very easy to get to/from airports and the central city. Large room in a beautiful building. Good sized bathroom with decent shower. Restaurant/bar was reasonably priced, portions were huge!
Review 73:The walls are a little thin so you can hear everything going on in the corridors and in other rooms quite easily
Review 74:Great staff, very friendly and informative. The building looks great and is of a high standard. It was always being cleaned and the heating was on so it was warm too.
Review 75:I truly say, everything was good.
Review 76:It is really close to the Mercedes-Benz Arena but not expensive at all. My room was clean and big enough. The staff were really friendly and all the facilities were also really good.
Review 77:I don't know the room is that much worth for its cost. Maybe the fee for swiming pool and sauna is included, but I didn't use it. And even worse is in the bar I have to spend more than 15 euros to use my card.
Review 78:Staff was really really nice and it is really close to the station.
Review 79:Nothing I can really complain about. Maybe they could provide guests with some more towels. Besides, I'm sure I would have got them if I had asked. The shortcomings are not really relevant as a whole.
Review 80:All the services in the same place. The staff is very helpful. The history of the building is really interesting. It was a good intuition to value the building and create a hotel/hostel and use it partially for expositions
Review 81:The hotel is a hostel with some separate rooms. The hotel is old and smells smoke. the bed covers and pillows smell as well. towels are very old.
Review 82:Friendly staff and very helpful Easy Parking Low cost breakfast buffet on top of the price of the room
Review 83:Perfect location for O2 World Arena visits, just 3 mins walk. We just stayed for one night. It was ok, clean, comfy and the staff was very nice and helpful.
Review 84:Pool water too cold, should be warmer in cold weather. No option to include breakfast, must pay separately.
Review 85:For the cost and rating it's better than most other places. Staff was very good and helpful, clean, location was great (no food or transport problems at all, super convenient).
Review 86:Only thing missing was a coat rack in the room that I would have liked to have. Everything else was pretty much perfect!
Review 87:The Staff was just great, they were extremely friendly ans helpful and their English was excellent. The place was great too, there were plenty of activities and opportunities in the hotel like sports, barbeque area, pool, restaurant etc.
Review 88:Did not like the buffet that much. While nice swimming pool, the sauna and shower arrangements did not support hygiene.
Review 89:Stuff was very nice and the location, price and level of place met very nicely. Just a place to spend the night.
Review 90:Only two small issues of lower importance: The clothes rail in the wardrobe was very high; nearly impossible to reach for smaller people. The lights in the hallway only switched on when you nearly completely crossed it. So you had to cross it in the dark - not a good feeling.
Review 91:Big room with clean and modern bathroom. Comfortable bed and friendly and helpful stuff.
Review 92:There was often que at the reception , so inquiries took quite some time. Breakfast was very basic Room could be cleaner Hot water in the shower was not consistant
Review 93:Near a metro station & a Lidl supermarket. Helpfull staff. Rooms are large & comfortable. near an area with restaurants & bars
Review 94:The hostel is in a great location, close to some of the best party spots in Berlin. The staff are also super helpful... Vincenzo is a star! Overall, great value - would highly recommend.
Review 95:Nothing
Review 96:Everything the location was great- close to tram and underground and walking distance to great bars and restaurants. rooms were Huge and staff were very very helpful
Review 97:The hotel/hostel is in the perfect place in town if you like somewhere edgy, full of contemporary artwork (street art) and close to good bars/ restaurants. It is like staying in Shoreditch/East End of London
Review 98:My only complaint is the cleanliness of the room. There were really only 2 things wrong with the room. The floor was greasy feeling in some parts especially when I had to move the bed and the floor under bed had not been mopped it felt like. And the other thing was that in our shower was a ball of hair from someone else in the corner. Outside of that the room was super nice and big!
Review 99:The staff was excellent and so helpful especially with having a 7 month old. And the hotel was so cool!!
Review 100:Not really a criticism but the building itself - an old school - is a slightly unwelcoming environment
Review 101:Great location, close to all the best Berlin nightlife. For a hostel it is also fairly quiet and has a pool, which is a nice extra.
Review 102:Very convenient location near the East Side Gallery. Public transportation available very nearby. Nice place with a twist, extremely helpful and friendly staff and laidback atmosphere. Would stay there again.
Review 103:Very noisy room-we heard everything from the hallway and also from the room next to us, every time somebody walked along our door it felt like he is entering our room
Review 104:Nice building with atmosphere, good location especially for clubbing and partying
Review 105:We booked a hotel but this is a hostel really...price for the comfort and experience is muvh too high for a double room as the comfort and place does NOT give the feeling of a hotel as is advertised.the rooms look more like a better prison cell!a shelf in the bathroom for toilletries would not be a luxury.too overpriced for the lack of comfort a hotel should offer.as full of young bachpackers this should never be advertised asxa hotel!!!
Review 106:The location....but that's it.
Review 107:Pillows aren't the best You can have in your life.
Review 108:All The Staff is easy going, welcoming, friendly, smiley and professional at the same time. A special Hug for Vincenzo.
Review 109:I cant think about any of it ! :)
Review 110:I like everything about Plus Berlin, Really great location only takes few mins walk from the S or U station ! Really close to the East side gallery and kind of a young area too !! nice and helpful staff . The room is big as well !!!
Review 111:I loved my stay there but if I have to pick one thing I did not like, it was the train station. There was a lot of construction and no elevators/escalators. I am sure this will change soon though.
Review 112:Absolutely loved this place!!! I stayed alone in a private triple room and it was as good if not better than a lot of hotels I've stayed in. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It makes such a difference to walk into a happy place. Amazing facilities, breakfast had a lot of options and the place was very clean. Also a great place to meet new people if you are traveling alone like I did.
Review 113:We had problem with water pressure in shower, water was too hot or too cold it was very hard to find right temperature. It is probably because our room was on last floor.
Review 114:Great location near S-bahn and U-bahn, only 3 stops from Alexanderplatz. Very good facilities, clean room, pleasant stuff. Wifi was also very good.
Review 115:The shower leaked water.
Review 116:It's the third time I stay at Plus Berlin. I LOVE IT! It's clean, it's cool, it's comfortable, the wi fi works well, the staff is nice, the location is the best. Last time we stayed at the triple room and it was pretty nice, the bathroom was very big and the shower was huge. Around the plus Berlin you can find a Lidl, other shops and markets. There are also several clubs where you can dance all night. The U bahn and S bahn are close.
Review 117:very helpful and friendly staff at reception. Excellent staff in the restaurant. Swimming pool and sauna were great, surprisingly not busy at all. A relatively short and cheap ride into the centre. Berlin wall close by.
Review 118:Guests in next room shouting & making noise past 03:00. Wifi signal awful. The hot breakfast items served in Hoffmann Saal not very nice. Why not offer scrambled egg to all guests not just group bookings? Cleaners should not throw away/remove guests property unless it is in the waste bin. No lift at Warschauerstr S-Bahn stationBudget so have to carry luggage/prams etc up steps. Doesn't feel safe walking from station to hotel (drunks & homeless hangout) Loud boisterous stag group boozing in pool.
Review 119:Reception & breakfast room staff really friendly & helpful. Nice bar/restaurant. Great to have pool on site. Rooms very clean. Excellent public transport links (U& S-Bahn & Tram) Excellent restaurants close by.
Review 120:The hostel is right next to two subway stations, and you can get anywhere in a matter of thirty minutes at the most. Crucial for Berlin. I stayed there with two friends, and we loved everything about it. The interior and garden are beautiful. They changed our towels every day and cleaned the room daily. Great value.
Review 121:Wifi wasn't the best but can't complain as it's free!!
Review 122:Facilities were great- Pool could of been heated. Great location. Staff were brilliant.
Review 123:Towels was not clean the first day.
Review 124:It is near to the S/U bahn, so it has very good connectivity to other parts of the city. The staff is very friendly and most of them speak Spanish. The breakfast is not included but is very good for the price.
Review 125:Unfortunately all three of our beds were infested with bed bugs. Pubcrawl below average .
Review 126:Great location central and within walking distance to many cafes, restaurants , bars and clubs. Metro station at door step.
Review 127:Excellent location - close to S-bahn stations, many places to eat and/or hang out. Free parking in front of the hotel. Pool and sauna on site and included in price. Spacious room and bathroom with high ceiling.
Review 128:Staff courteousness seemed to have changed from guest to guest. My husband had good service; whereas I was given the cold shoulder and made to pay a deposit I didn't need to. Seems policies and staff are inconstant. Also, housekeeping unlocked and entered our room twice at 8:30am even though we in the room and the door was locked.
Review 129:Clean, spacious rooms. Good air conditioning. Close to sights.
Review 130:Pillows lumpy and beds quite hard but we had done so much in the day we slept fine. Rooms spotlessly clean.
Review 131:This is a great place to stay - easy to access good restaurants, trains, a stone's throw from East Side Gallery. It has a very trendy feel. We loved sitting out in the middle out door area having a beer and the kids enjoyed the pool. Staff really helpful.
Review 132:Air Conditioning unit was not working properly in the midst of a heat wave. It had not been sorted over 4 days.
Review 133:Staff were amazing. Great location. Courtyard, ATM on site. Lidl few meters from the hotel. Very happy.
Review 134:Extremely rude staff - was shouted at by the lady at the front desk when I simply asked where I could go for dinner - unacceptable.
Review 135:Clean and spacious room.
Review 136:Nothing to dislike about Plus Berlin. The city council could do with the Boris effect and learn to clean up the streets a bit in the Warschauer area, but there is only one Boris!
Review 137:Rooms are large, bathrooms clean, loved the artists work in the courtyard garden. Good location for getting about the city. Booked back to airport service 7 euros each - really good value.
