Reviews for Pension Reiter

Review 1:First of all staff, at the very moment of my arrival I was addressed as a stinky smoker (they spoke Russian at the reception and i speak Russian!), just because i smoked outside before entering the building. Reception is opened only for short hours, plus i took a cab from the airport only to learn that the building i was staying at was another 10 minutes walk. Stayed for 12 days and not even once they vacuum cleaned the room or removed the dust, walls were too thin and i was lucky to be right next to the shower/toilet so imagine how beautiful it was to hear some sounds. Basically what they advertise is really far from what it really is.

Review 2:Great location, subway station and bus stop right in front

Review 3:Brutal noises from guests stayed in neighbor rooms frightened me at almost every midnight to early morning. Twofold ear pad could not block these noisiness.

Review 4:The site of hotel is good, near from U station, and quiet around hotel. The price is cheap and clean in the room & toilet.

Review 5:The room was not in the main building, but 5 min walking from there, in a multistorey apartment house. There is no reception, just several flats owned by hostel. Fine for me, but maybe not for someone. In the apartment were about 3 rooms, but only one shower and toilet, together. Might be not comfortable.

Review 6:I booked a single room with shared bathroom. Room was part of apartment with a kitchen and one shower+toilet. The room was big, with twin beds and even a sofa. Beds comfortable, room clean. Whether location good or not depends on the purpose of trip, I needed accommodation close to Ostbahnhof. But it is also not long walking distance from Alexander platz.

Review 7:The reception works from 13h to 19h. There are no persons to help if you are a turist, for exemple, who dont know thi city. The only girl who was there was toughtfull. But no one was there for help with other services.

Review 8:Good infrastructures, except the internet.

Review 9:Athough I was given a twin room for the price of a single the beds in the room need attention, slightest movement gave loud noise from the bed frames and crunches as if the bedframe was about to collapse. If a newly wed couple were to stay in this room the noise would keep Berlin awake.

Review 10:Stayed in hotel annexe just down the road from main hotel. U bahn station vitually outside front door. Two stops from Alexanderplatz. Good value, very clean, no noise. Was given large twin room although I only booked single at lowest rate. I have stayed at this hotel before and can reccomend.

Review 11:Had to get the metro to/from city centre so not great if you're staying purely for the city centre sights. Curtains were see through resulting in a lot of sun getting through and very little privacy

Review 12:The bed was surprisingly comfortable and we were expecting a shared bathroom but on arrival were upgraded to a room with a private bathroom.

Review 13:On our second morning we were shouted at to leave the breakfast room at 10:00 on the dot while we were finishing our last sips of coffee and bits of toast. We were so uncomfortable with her rudeness that we skipped breakfast the next morning despite already paying for it. We would have been out of the breakfast room by 10:05 at the latest as we were literally having our last bites but felt very unwelcome and offended.

Review 14:Great stay, would go back except for <see below>

Review 15:There were few appliances to make/ store food. There could for instance have been glasses provided for drinks.

Review 16:The price and the quality of the accommodation was excellent. The hotel is also very close to very good transports.

Review 17:Very strong smell of chemicals, which are used to desenfect rooms. But not long time required to get used to it.

Review 18:Good value for money. Two towels. Everything is clean and fance. In overall good WiFi connection. Spacious room. Nice location. Alexanderplatz is far away by foot, but in good weather you can walk by Karl-Mark alley - nice view of Soviet streets )) Free car-parking - great for Berlin. I was lucky - girl on reception spoke German, English and Russian, small French :)

Review 19:Communal areas dirty and unpleasant smell in the bathroom.

Review 20:Excellent location right by the U-Bahn, a 10- minute ride into the city centre. Pleasant and accommodating staff.

Review 21:Spacious room, clean shared bathrooms with great supplies, fast wifi, fifteen-minute walk to Alexanderplatz (five-minutes to nearest U-bahn station), great neighborhood

Review 22:Toilet weren't that clean some smell and the water in the shower turned cold after a few minutes

Review 23:Close to the tram. Nice room, comfortable bed.good WiFi and real value for money much better then expected

Review 24:The main thing wrong with the room was that the curtains were see through and the shutters didn't work! We had to hang our towels up on the windows to make sure people on the street couldn't see us getting changed. The corridor was noisy but this isn't so bad for the price.

Review 25:Comfy bed with excellent free wi-fi that we weren't expecting. The room and bathroom was clean. The location was excellent and right near a U-bahn station and not far from Alexanderplatz. The price was excellent.

Review 26:Probably just the early close for check-ins. I made it by the skin of my teeth coming from Dortmund that morning.

Review 27:Front of house staff were extremely helpful and a pleasure to deal with. For the low price you get a perfectly adequate, clean and comfortable room that is a reasonable walk/biking distance from Alexanderplatz, and even closer to Warschauer Strasse. For longer excursions, the hotel is five minutes walk from Weberweise U-bahn station. Wifi was fast and free, and the shared bathroom facilities were always clean. Overall, a great stay in a great location!

Review 28:It's not possible that the staff is NOT ABLE to SPEAK IN ENGLISH! They only speak german, if you don't know this language you can't communicate with the staff. Also the staff is not that nice with you.

Review 29:Well located, the room was quite small and simple but the bed was really comfortable.

Review 30:You need to register via Facebook to get WiFi. Reception works only from 14:00.

Review 31:Good location. Not far from the Alexander Platz. Near the U-bahn station. Very clean and quiet place.

Review 32:Lack of baggage deposit! When you check out, you have to bring your stuff with you -can't leave bags there. Wi-fi was off the first day we arrived The desk is open only a few hours per day; they ask you to leave the key in a mailbox on your way out (no one is there)

Review 33:Very clean Close to the underground Good deal

Review 34:Some unsavoury characters hanging around the entrance having a drink every night. Part time reception and Wi fi had to be reset overtime you logged on

Review 35:Proximity to U Bahn and Alexander Platz

Review 36:The reception is only open from 1PM to 6PM, and there are hardly available electricity plugs in the room. A mirror in the room would have been welcome, but there wasn't any.

Review 37:The staff was very helpful, taking time to explain everything. I stayed in room 202 in the main building. The room was clean and had a balcony. The neighborhood is quiet and the hotel is about 5 minutes walk from 2 different metro stations (U5) which takes you to Alexanderplatz in just 2 or 3 stops. There are some places where you can buy food and have a drink. There was a fan in the room, which is nice when it's hot. Breakfast was, considering the price, decent. Shared spaces such as showers and toilets were clean.

Review 38:You got what you pay for, the room is clean and comfy, wifi worked good (obviously not to download big amounts of data), the position was perfect: quite place near to the metro station, 2 stops from Alexander Platz, the girl at the reception was nice and friendly

Review 39:The toilet and the shower were combined and needed to be shared with 3 other rooms. Also the towels were supposed to be changed every two days but this didn't happen. Eventually we did get clean towels.

Review 40:The location was excellent: it was quiet (peacefull), the subway station was around the block and a big park was nearby. Also one of the best bakeries of Berlin was really closeby.

Review 41:The wifi connection was a bit inconsistent. The bathrooms were acceptable but could be a bit nicer. The showers were average.

Review 42:We stayed in the main hostel and had a pleasant stay, the room had everything we needed and was big for a hostel room. The staff were friendly enough and as long as you plan ahead and either check in within the hours they specify or call ahead for late check in and they will leave the keys in a locked safe outside. The bathrooms were average for a hostel. The wifi worked the majority of the time in the rooms, but everytime you left and returned you had to sign in with facebook again and the connection did drop out for no reason a few times. The location looked like it was far out but it was very close to the U-bahn which is very quick and it is walking distance from both Alexanderplatz and the nightlife area Kruzburg.

Review 43:The wifi didn't work in our room, we had to sit in the hallway to use it. Also there was one bathroom between four rooms which just wasn't enough.

Review 44:For the price it wasn't too bad.

Review 45:The hostel is close to some very nice areas in Friedrichshain, as well as just a short bikeride from Mitte and Kreuzberg. For the price that we paid we were very happy with the room; it was quite large, had good wifi and a very comfortable bed.

Review 46:No air conditioning, kitchen or laundry facilities. This neighborhood does not have much to do at night, you need to go into the city center for eating and drinking etc.

Review 47:Next to a U subway line and just a few stops from Alexanderplatz.

Review 48:There were no staff when we got there, just the cleaning lady. We just waited outside because we came there 3 hours earlier than check-in.

Review 49:It is just a short walk to the nearest metro and there was a small restaurant and store one block away. The rooms were clean and comfy. The shower rooms, although shared within the entire floor, are very spacious and clean.

Review 50:I didnt like that we need to walk 1kilometer just to get in to our room. Pillows not comfy.. the bed makes sound every time you move.very noisy location of the room. The hall way towards the room was so dirty...

Review 51:I like how the room looks thats it

Review 52:They charged my account before I got there which was annoying as I'd already exchanged the money up to pay. Shower kept flooding and light outside of rooms entrance was broken.

Review 53:Room was nice inside although we were in the alternative building, free wi-fi in room, staff member was pleasant enough. Location is good.

Review 54:The wifi is horrible, really slowly. You have to check out until 11.00 am but at 9.00 am was the reception closed, so i have to find somebody and she couldnt give me the bill about the pay, she said that they will send it in an email but it also not happened. The room was not clean, the bed was brocken, on the bedclothes was a hole. One toilett with the bathroom and you have to share it with other 6-7 people. On the floore was really bad lighting, almost nothing.

Review 55:Alexanderplatz is nearly, 2 metrostations

Review 56:Not a lot of privacy. Large gap under door so we could hear people outside very easily, and they could hear us. More privacy would have been much nicer.

Review 57:Good location.

Review 58:We were accommodated in the hotel's second building, which is quite far from the main building, but actually closer to the city center. From the building it's only 2 subway stops to Alexanderplatz. The second building is actually a block of flats. One of those flats belongs to the hotel. The hotel flat has 4 rooms and one shared bathroom with WC. Our room was facing the large Karl-Marx-Allee with heavy traffic even during the night. It was impossible to open the window during the night, it was so noisy. The room door was so thin, that we could hear everything in the flat. When people walked across the flat and manipulated with other doors we couldn't sleep. The bed was also creaking too much. Too many noises for us... Also the bathroom wasn't very clean. The hair in the plug-hole in the shower was disgusting. In the hallway there was a jug kettle, but nothing else (cups, spoons..), so quite useless for the most tourists.

Review 59:We liked the location close to Alexanderplatz. The supermarket Lidl was also quite close and there were many restaurants in the surrounding. The Karl-Marx-Allee is a large boulevard with an exciting communistic architecture. The subway next to the hotel building. We appreciated the "check-out box" in the second building, so we didn't have to walk to the main building.

Review 60:Noisy plumbing!

Review 61:It was very cheap. It had a clean bed and towels,tv,wifi, bathroom next door, heating. Studenty but fine even at 67! Classy restaurant opposite and breakfast cafe round corner.

Review 62:Nothing was not to like.

Review 63:Easy to get there, I arrived at around 6.30 pm and there was the receptionist waiting for me. The room was nice, clean, the balcony had a good view. I had a great time in Berlin and I would recomend Pension Reiter to all my friends. I would suggest for those that arrive after 6 pm to announce this either when they make the reservation or later by e-mail or phone, because the reception closes after 6 pm but if they know you are comng they will wait.

Review 64:2 of the 3 showers I had during my stay were cold.

Review 65:The room was large, and had a fridge, couch and table and a comfortable bed. The bathrooms were very nice.

Review 66:Palisadenstrasse can be a bit noisy in the morning

Review 67:great value for money, nice and green location, all infrastructure is there, friendly staff and clean rooms

Review 68:- none ever came to clean the room and make the beds (for three whole days) - not attended at night, our neighbours were a bit crazy and there was no way to avoid noise at night - our room was on the ground floor with windows looking at the main street at peoples' head and glances level (we kept the shutters down all the time)

Review 69:- location - tideness - free wi-fi is great - maps and more material available

Review 70:I did not obtain one of the rooms I asked for, which I had indicated by the numbers of the photos that are shown on the hotel page on booking, with the justification that The staff did not know which photos were meant, which I found a bit odd (since these photos were obviously uploaded by the hotel itself; if there was any doubt, anyway, one could have contacted me). The shower turned cold before my usual shower time (careful if you tend to take long showers). The reception is hardly occupied, but one gets a ke to enter whenever.

Review 71:Good hotel for the price (payed 30€ for a single room). Clean and functional, calm but not far from a major nightlife hub.

Review 72:The booking page didn't state that the reception was closed part of the early afternoon so we had to wait a little bit. Wifi connection was usable but could be a bit more stable.

Review 73:Location of the appartment we had was a 5 minute walk from the building where the reception was but it was close to a U-Bahn station so no problem. Room was clean and tidy as was the (shared) bathroom. Friendly staff.

Review 74:Only ever saw staff when I first checked in ,other than that reception was always closed. When I left I had to leave key in outside post box. Bed slats had sunk at one end and needed repair.

Review 75:Overall a pleasant stay, close to station, good clean room.

Review 76:Didn't see any staff, but the ones I did see did not seem very friendly. Could do with an extra pillow also!

Review 77:The hotel is very easy to find and in a great location. Clean room and bathrooms and comfortable beds. Great value for money.

Review 78:A bit small dining room. First night we did not get double bed room altough we asked for it. Anyhow, eventually we got very nice room and after the initial confusion it was nice.

Review 79:Neat and cosy rooms, the location is very good (only 10 mins from Alexanderplatz when using U5).

Review 80:Maybe a bit expensive in some period

Review 81:Really close to U bahn, just outside, 1min walk only. Nice staff and really clean and tidy room. Bathroom and toilet are really clean as well. Wifi is good.

Review 82:There is no one at the reception, arrived at 1:00 pm and I was hoping I could leave my bags there (not entering the room) but no one was there. I called and a very unfriendly person just tell me that the check in was from 15:00 to 18:00. I had to moved my business meeting in order to wait until the "check in time" because It was not sure that I will be there before 18:00.

Review 83:very cose to the city center. Metro station 2 min away. Alexanderplatz is 20 min walking. Many restaurants close by Best value for money. New! Big rooms!

Review 84:They twist your arm to like the hotel on Facebook to use their WiFi and when people left their room the doors shake...

Review 85:Bed and location was great. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Review 86:The receptionist a bit distracted (our breakfast in the last day was forgotten). And some minor things: although the bathroom was quite well equipped, there was nothing to dry your hands when using the toilet. The fridge in the room was not cleaned after the previous users. And it would be nice to have 2 keys to the room. But overall impression was positive and I recommend this hostel.

Review 87:Good location-close to the tube station, the city centre available also by foot, free parking place. New, large and comfortable bed, the room was clean. The Staff was kind, the price was good. Fast Wi-Fi. The quality of breakfast OK. Overall impression good - good value for the money.

Review 88:Awkward way of using free WiFi, requiring multiple posts on Facebook.

Review 89:It's very clean and the room doesn't show wear. Close to the city center.

Review 90:The wifi was ok. Did not work perfect. They did not clean our room only gave us clean towels. The management were ok, but we were not so happy about being sent a long way to our room after walking such a long distance, but fully satisfied when we arrived. We should not even have to go all the way back with the key, we had a box just outside our room for it.

Review 91:This was just an amazing choice! I went here with a Friend for a weekend stay, and the room was great and big! the shared bathroom was clean and we were located less than one minute from the metro! Definitely coming again!

Review 92:Never met anyone at the reception, either mornings or evenings. People speaking very loud Russian late night and early morning. Bad fluorescent lighting.

Review 93:Clean, simple room with freshly made bed and two towels. Had the shared bathroom (shower, toilet, sink) to myself. Quiet location by Karl Marx Allee, in the East. Very "Ostern" neighborhood with few tourists, felt like "the real Berlin".

Review 94:There were no bathroom for the room (noticed when arrived), bed with a missing leg (bedpost)

Review 95:The location is perfect if you want to travel the city with public transport.

Review 96:This place is just after Your money, expect no service! This was the first and last time I booked Pension Reiter. I arrived late from work in another city, and was supposed to enter the room at 06.00. But the building was locked up and they DID NOT send me an email with a pin code to that box outside with all the keys, but charged for the room anyway. NOT A SERIOUS BUSINESS!

Review 97:1) When present, which was almost never, the staff were extremely formal and quite cold. For example, when I arrived, there was no attempt at any kind of greeting. 2) The breakfast room was small and cramped. 3) The whole building was rather cold.

Review 98:Small but fairly comfortable room.

Review 99:Distance from the provided address Thin walls made it nosiy

Review 100:Changed the towels every second Nothing special but it was cheap Onvenient for Underground

Review 101:The reception opening hours are a bit annoying as it made as come back to the hotel from the city center just to check in.

Review 102:Nice location, parking free of charge.

Review 103:To get wifi, i had to like the Hotel Reiter page on facebook and even then the wifi did not work. I tried everything. The lady at the reception did not speak English and sent us to the other location with a useless map and no explanation. There was no luggage room! We arrived early and we had to use lockers at the metrostation. We shared a appartement with 3 other couples. It was like a student dormitory, without privacy. We were not allowed to lock the front door, which didnt feel safe.

Review 104:Close to Alexanderplatz.

Review 105:The wifi was only accessible after the first day by posting messages to facebook which I didn't wish to do. The staff were not able to resolve this problem.

Review 106:A simple, good value place to stay in a pleasant location

Review 107:The wifi doesn´t work. The bed is quite small and the pillow not very confortable.

Review 108:Pension Reiter is really a cheap option to accomodate in Berlin. Bathroom and room are clean, and the breakfast is good enough. It´s near to the u-bahn 5, and in Alexander Platz in a few minutes by u-bahn or walking.

Review 109:Checking-in outside office hours is a problem, reception closes early.

Review 110:I was staying in a flat with four bedrooms and shared bathroom, about a block away from the main hotel. Room was quiet and spacious.

Review 111:Not really free wi-fi - either strange login where you give them email and your password or through facebook "like". Therefore I have not use it. I would prefer rather to pay for internet than this.

Review 112:You get what you pay for. The room was quite clean and personel was nice.

Review 113:The noises from people coming and going in the night. The doors banging and people talking in the corridor, that woke me up several times. But again, my friend got used to them in one night, and it didn't bother her, so.

Review 114:Good location, near metro. Breakfast, which was a pleasant surprise considering its cost. Room was clean and simple. Shared bathroom was clean, didn't have to wait too often either. All in all, would come again: price and location.

Review 115:It's a budget hotel, so popular with people who arrive back late at night, somewhat the worse for wear, and a bit noisy.

Review 116:Decent wifi signal, clean room, great location (just two stops on the Metro to Alexanderplatz, or a 20-minute walk), fantastic value for money.

Review 117:We needed a room just for 7 hours during the day to relax before our evening flight. We tried to check in around 12:00 but staff was totally inflexible, saying the reception will open at 13:00 (but actually came later). The room itself was located in a large apartment block a good 10 mins walk away from the reception building, which was not so easy to find.

Review 118:Good location in Friedrichshain, close to U-bahn and walking distance to legendary club Berghain. Once finally found, room itself was large, bright and clean.

Review 119:Bathroom is clean but other guests made it a mess

Review 120:Location Early check-inn Didn't eat breakfast but looked good Friendly staff Could leave our luggage for free

Review 121:They didnt have locked room so we couldnt leave oyr bags until our flight. And there were no people speaking english at reception during the day. When i was trying to ask locked room i couldnt find anybody. And also they have apartmant flat so in the explanation they have to emphasize that they will give you a key and you are gonna be seperated from other rooms which were in the main apartmant building.

Review 122:It was not so far away from berliner platz.dont expect anything they only give bed and bathroom.

Review 123:Bed bugs bit me and my friend, still have a spot. That can happen, but I guess some one should change the sheets a bit more often, or maybe some nasty dude just went there before us. Other than that, everything was descent.

Review 124:Location good,

Review 125:Wi-Fi was terrible in my location, it was essentially useless. I wasn't in the main building, so I can't speak for how it is there. I was also moved to a separate location away from the main building, which was not altogether convenient, though it turned out to be a better location with regard to the metro.

Review 126:My location was about 30m from a subway station (better location than the main building), two stops from Alexanderplatz, which will take you anywhere in the city. Clean rooms. Helpful staff (communicated only via email).

Review 127:Wi-fi promised but only worked for a short time in the afternoon. All evening and following morning it wasn't working. No staff on duty at reception on check-out so nowhere to leave luggage.

Review 128:Good location, just off Karl-Marx-Allee. If you just need a bed for the night and nothing more it is ok.

Review 129:for this price a good location but don't expect too much. it's a cheap and practical stay.

Review 130:Cosy, clean, close to railway station and many music venues, good price. My favorite pension in Berlin.

Review 131:The only thing was the room was for two singles not double..but overall was good.

Review 132:How central and easy to get to.

Review 133:Next to the metro station, equipped, comfortable rooms with shared bathrooms, breakfast is good.

Review 134:poor bathroom

Review 135:close to friedrichshain

Review 136:Not many choices for breakfast. Understandable due to less people.

Review 137:It looks good and value for money

Review 138:Reception only open after 13:00. Rooms are small.

Review 139:The place was clean. Location was pretty okay (2 U-Bahn stations from Alexanderplatz).
