Reviews for A&O Frankfurt Galluswarte

Review 1:Awkward power point locations. Water pressure in the shower was low. A little bit annoying that some rooms are in separate buildings, especially if raining but this can't be helped.

Review 2:Close to U-bahn stations so it's convenient, also not too far from the central station. Can buy food and drinks in lobby, staff are very helpful.

Review 3:arrogant staff, gave used bed and when I asked for new bed, staff asked for more money. There is big bed in the room where young couple sleeps.

Review 4:location

Review 5:-Is far from center, need to take metro ( 2.7 euros one way) - staffs are not nice to guest ( early check in is not allowed even 5 mins)

Review 6:The room is clean and tidy

Review 7:There was a noise coming from outside the hotel, it is not the responsibility of the Hotel, but its location. Checkout time was at 10am, the usual is 12pm! I do not like that.

Review 8:Clean and comfortable.

Review 9:Maybe it will be better if the staff check/clean the rooms every day!

Review 10:It is a good option when you look for something simple and cheap for a short stay. I like the room, it was not so spacious but comfortable... Cleanliness was good. Is located beside (30 meters) the Galluswarte train station (S-Bahn) and it is easy to move around the city from and to the hotel. I felt safe at every time in the streets although the people said it was not so secure at night/early morning.

Review 11:It would be good to know ahead of arrival that bedding was not provided and needed to be rented.

Review 12:A&O was clean, and having washrooms in each room was very nice.

Review 13:The next day the girl was a little stressed ! no smile !! No time to explain more !

Review 14:The guy at the reception was really professional and really nice, I was tired when I come but he was here to make me relax, quick registration and also helpful.

Review 15:They have people who don't have suitcases living there for a long time. It's quite suspicious. There should be one power socket for each bed beside each bed. The table in the room was sticky.

Review 16:I liked the ample space and the provision of hand wash and body wash.

Review 17:People came in the room after midnight without having respect for who was sleeping. Somebody took my sheets the day after, when I was ready to sleep I found my bed without sheets which I had payed for 2nights. I have been in many hostel and your bed is supposed to be booked showing your name and the date you are leaving in order to avoid mistakes like this one.

Review 18:Comfortable!

Review 19:This hotel is the simplest and simplest hotel I've ever seen, but everything OK. A bit far from the main rail station (HBF), forget walking, you need to take public transport, which there is a rich connection next to the hotel. You have nothing touristic around the hotel. Mattress was too soft, very thin bedlinen. The lifts are quite small, and one were not working during my stay. It's not a fantasy place, if you have a better option! It's much more in hostels way!

Review 20:Near by public transport. Friendly and helpful staff. At the check-in they gave me a small room, but changed to a bigger and nicer when I asked. Very clean and comfy, if you just want to stay for sleep.

Review 21:The bed was not comfortable and the so called free wifi was poor and not connecting for the price we paid this was not a good stay, basic facilities is today's time which is internet if it does not work the place is not worth to stay

Review 22:Place was very close to the train station and easily reachable

Review 23:Security problem. I dnt understand why a supervisor opened the doorw/o our permission in the middle of sleep. We never felt safe in ourroom as soon as we knew a male supervisor would check the room everymorning. It was our very first time that the hotel manager literallyopened the door, looked inside, and met my eyes even before the day ofcheck-out. In the world, this hotel was the first one that did suchthing. Except for this stupid thing, other things were perfect. But if uare a female traveller then pls think twice and check abt this.

Review 24:Mentioned above. Especially kind staff.

Review 25:a little bit far from train station;too much noise in the room,i saw a whole family slept in one bed, a black couple with a baby, the baby always cry at night, of course it is not the fault of the baby, but how can the hostel allow the whole family sleep in one bed, it is really a bad experience for other people.

Review 26:staff and environment is ok

Review 27:The was smoke smell all through the hotel lobby. Breakfast was bare minimum, cleanliness was average, lot of noise in the hallway in the middle of the night and unfortunately I had a room facing the road and kept hearing the tram noise through the night with no sleep

Review 28:The location was not too far from my office

Review 29:The quadruple room was smaller than expected, we couldn't even open the door fully, whereas the "triple" room was also a quadruple but was significantly larger despite having less people in it.

Review 30:Cleanliness, I booked two rooms and they were next to each other. Good facilities overall and ease of access to hostel was good.

Review 31:A bit too much noise from the street and from people standing outside the hotel talking and arguing in the night.

Review 32:Wifi always worked, unlike many other hotels in the past in Frankfurt.

Review 33:I was there during the Frankfurt Book Fair so the rates were a bit steep.

Review 34:I was having problems with my EC card so I couldn't pay upon arrival as was the policy. But the staff took my word for it that I would settle before departure and allowed me to check in.

Review 35:the price for sheets was ridiculous and should have been included. Some sketchy guy was staying in my room without any luggage. The wifi didn't work half the time. It was very far away. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Review 36:One staff member was friendly. The others were not rude but definitely not friendly.

Review 37:Wi-Fi connection was very unstable and it went down for a couple of days while I was there. The walls were dirty, and they don's clean the room (although it is explicitly stated).

Review 38:Value for price was the best at the time I arrived. The location is just next to the train station, so it's very easy to commute.

Review 39:No internet for 4 days. Staff saw no urgency to get the problem fixed. Cleanliness could be better. Had to ask for the room to be serviced after three days. Won't stay again.

Review 40:Would be nice if they were clearer about renting towels and bedding and the prices for them.

Review 41:Value; soap/shampoo dispensers, toilet paper, good shower pressure, all provided.

Review 42:The room was in the ground floor closure to an underground room, no air conditioning, no fan even, no refrigerator and no way to refresh the room. Yes the accommodation was very cheap but it should have been better to increase the price somehow and upgrade the services.

Review 43:Every think bad, location, saff. الفندق سي للغايه من ناحيه الموظفين او الموقع خاصه انه يقع بجانب سكه القطار واصوت 24 ساعه والفطور مافيه تنوع

Review 44:No think like.

Review 45:No bad experience, but free lockers in the rooms or in the corridors would have been nice. Also the drag from reception to the room through stairs and uneven path is slightly discomforting.

Review 46:Close location to Metro and tram stops. Clean with nice touches and amenities. My room had a garden view that felt really nice within the city.

Review 47:Probably the worst night I ever had in a hostel dorm. When I came back to the room at night, another woman lay in my bed, snoring heavily. So I had to pick another bed which did not have any linen. There was a smell of urine, sweat and vomit in the room. People on the bed next to me were having loud sex, the full programme. Another guy got up at 4am and kept washing himself for more than two hours, running back and forth from the toilet. There was no sound barrier between toilet and room, you could hear every intestinal movement, as well as gulping and vomitting. All in all, it felt like staying in a mix of brothel and lunatic asylum.

Review 48:The check in was fast, and the place looked clean.

Review 49:The room attendant did not change my our bed spread for some days also our room were not visited by any management though out our staying in the hotel

Review 50:I love the way and manner the workers work and welcome all the guest into the hotel during my family stay in the hotel we were not treated like a foreigners in all we love visit you again next time we are in franfurt

Review 51:Messy room, quite loud. Rooftop bar was closed even though it says "open every day". Paid extra for bedding.

Review 52:Close proximity to train station (S-Bahn "Galluswarte" & central station) and therefore to the city center. Very low price for the night.

Review 53:The staff were unfriendly and the "library" is just a table with 6 chairs next to the bar and the entrance, so very noisy. I took a capuccino that costed 2€ and the size was more like a Espresso.

Review 54:The location is good, 20 mins Walking distance from the Train Station.

Review 55:Quite overpriced for the quality. The don't give linens free of charge, so many people opt out to get linens and beds are getting dirty and smell bad. Far walk from main station.

Review 56:We slept in a 8 beds room, and there was just 1 bathroom. Guess the queue for the shower or the pee in the morning! The room, in 6 days I stayed there, have never been cleaned (if it was, I didn't notice). The toilet was superficially cleaned every morning.

Review 57:Wonderful position, next to Galluswarthe metro station. The lobby is confortable, nice and spacious, and the bed is quite confortable.

Review 58:it was 36 degrees and the room had no air conditioning. The traffic outside my window was very noisy so couldn't sleep. Under staffed poor service on reception.

Review 59:room was clean

Review 60:Excellent location, right next door to the train station. Excellent facilities for the price I paid and staff all very helpful and friendly. Now that I have experienced AO hostels by myself and had no problems, will be much more adventurous next time and book across a wider range of locations and travel further

Review 61:wifi failed to work. only after that did they tell us that the free wifi was only few mb. after that if we wanted it to even work we would have to pay. we had to make two beds upon arrival and we had to pick up linen a the reception. we were not informed about this upon arrival. the shower was not clean. still had hair and soap from previous people

Review 62:it is affordable and new. perfect value for money as long as it is cleaned properly and wifi works free. if not, dont fool people into thinking they will get there and have free wifi

Review 63:The only downside was the plates we used at breakfast. Despite the wonderful breakfast, the plates were a bit dirty.

Review 64:Rooms are fantastic and very clean. Staff also very nice.

Review 65:the beds were not prepared ;I had to do my own beds; no fridge in the room and no ac when outside were 35 degrees;whe I entered in the room the temperature was very high;windows cannot be opened and we could not rest because of high temperatures;the staff is aware but...........I paid the price for a hotel room and I received a hostel one.

Review 66:the hotel was clean enough

Review 67:No ventilation/fan in rooms especially in hot summer with 32+ degree temperature. Whole family couldnt sleep in this hot room. Outside the window whole night was noisy train, trams, buses and many drunk people shouting whole night. In addition to this Matress was not comfortable. So overall not a reasonable place for families perhaps for students a good place.

Review 68:In summer the room is very hot. My one month baby suffered a lot in this hotel with fan.

Review 69:In summer every room need a fan /ventilator as per needed request.

Review 70:Not a hotel, mixture between hostel/hotel. Room without airco, room temperature at least 28 degrees because of summer weather. Noice outside until 1.30AM. Via the booking.com information field requested a parking place. No response that parking place is available (also not at reception), luckily parking in weekend is not a problem. But gets me thinking, does any hotel ever read these special information form requests?

Review 71:Breakfast was over my expectations (value for money), a lot more choice and quality food/drink than we expected

Review 72:Arrived at midnight and there were about 50 people drinking outside the hotel, including standing in the car park which made us nervous. The room was very hot and no fans/very little ventilation, but it was very hot outside so to be expected. More of a hostel than a hotel.

Review 73:Breakfast was good. Room was clean. Staff were helpful

Review 74:The Booking advertisement was not clear that this was really a youth hostel. For a youth hostel it is great but for a hotel it has high noise levels

Review 75:Very clean and inexpensive for a hotel but it was really not a hotel.

Review 76:Free wifi sucks. When it's hot outside, it's way too hot to stay in the room, coz there is no AC in the room. I paid extra for sheets, which is a little bit rediculous for staying in the hostel. They forgot to give the deposit for the lock back to me

Review 77:The dorm was unbelievably big and clean, with separated bathroom and, let's say, toilet-room in the dorm. Everything looked elegant and it was even hard to believe it's a dorm. Location was good for me, which is near the Hauptbahnhof.

Review 78:Sometimes in noon day in summer, room get hot and not enough ventilation.

Review 79:Good location, very near to metro/train station. Clean and good breakfast. Worth money spent.

Review 80:Of cause sometimes It's a bit noisy but it's not a big deal.

Review 81:I booked a shared room of 8. It's clean and tidy although I need to pay extra 3Euro for the bed sheet.

Review 82:A&Ois the lead expensive accommodation we could find for 4 beds in Frankfurt. Despite the low cost, the room was more than adequate in providing a clean room and clean beds for the night. When I arrived, I found out that the A&O is actually a Hostel/Hotel with many young travelers taking advantage of the price. The family rooms are kept in a separate building from the hostel rooms, and there was no problem with noise from the youngsters despite the visit taking place in the summer. There is parking available in a private area in the back for 12.50€ a night, but there is probably plenty of street parking available if you are willing to look and walk some. Close enough to a train station to get to where you need to go within minutes.

Review 83:Very noisy lobby, Hot in summer, you can not open the windows as it is close to train station and very noisy. They did not provide us with baby bed nevertheless I asked them several times and they were saying we will bring it soon ! poor breakfast not worth the money. Not recommending at all !

Review 84:Almost nothing I liked in this hotel

Review 85:Needed to pay a lot for linen compared to the price There were too many flies that I had to kill before I sleep Maybe it's because the windows were open

Review 86:Mostly everything Strong wifi connection Clean and spacious room Extremely cheap for the good facilities and good location

Review 87:The kitchen is not really good because is small, not very tidy and I think the towels are not washed nor changed regularly...

Review 88:The hostel is clean and neat.

Review 89:The staff was bahviour not friendly at all & at times also behaved very rudely. Wasn't able to get the breakfast because it was holiday & I had to leave early so they didn't served it than.

Review 90:The only good thing about the hostel was that it was located very new to the S-bahn station & just one just from hauptbahnof.

Review 91:Lack of toilet paper in the bathroom (it's right in the dorm, that's why it's difficult for the staff to check its availability and replace on time?). Not too clean floor in the dorm, especially under the beds

Review 92:Very friendly staff, huge dorms with large windows, crispy clean linen, close to all kinds of public transport, fair breakfast

Review 93:Availability & verity for breakfast Not changing towels in the floor Not having chain lock inside the door Not having a safe

Review 94:Value for money Next to metro Helpful front desk staff Clean rooms

Review 95:- The elevator was not working - It was hot in the room (even with an open window) Not many bad things to say, the ones I mentioned actually didn't really bother me.

Review 96:I arrived late and left early, which was both no problem. The staff was very friendly, the hotel close to the train station and the room clean. I had booked a 8-bed dormitory room but there were only 4 people in it, which was nice.

Review 97:some guests smoked then a whole room got smoky and nasty; it would be nice to have sign to notice them; they really should get fined!!

Review 98:Most of the staff were really(x100) nice, and so helpful!!

Review 99:We booked room for 4 people but we got only 2 towels and 2 sheets on beds. We came early and the room wasn't ready so we went to messe. When we came back very late didn't have strength to report that to reception. On the morning the receptionist only said - sorry...

Review 100:When You are attending to Messe - localisation

Review 101:The room faces the train tracks, but even with the window open it wasn't overly loud. Also the door to the parking lot never closed, which made it cold in the play area, and allowed the smoke from anyone out there smoking to blow into the lobby.

Review 102:We stayed in a family room with the bunk beds. It was one of the nicest hostels we've started in. I loved the kids play area in the lobby! After a day of traveling in the car to get there, it was nice to have a place for the little kids to unwind.

Review 103:Uneven bed, half of the bed was a foam mattress and other half a spring mattress. The bunk bed had sharp metal corners. There was a layer of dust on the floor and bunk bed mattress. No cupboard so table to be used to keep your belonging

Review 104:Location and Free WiFi and toilet was nice and clean

Review 105:The bedding for kids was not made up. They gave us the bed sheets and it took us some time to make up two beds. The parking is advertised 8.50 EUR. However, they charged us 12.50 EUR.

Review 106:It was cheap compared to location. The room were clean.

Review 107:Beds not ready - "self service" Room not adapted for "family" stay No space to store clothes

Review 108:Friendliness of staff - Cleanliness

Review 109:That i wasn't told before hand that you needed your own bed sheet and towels. So you were forced to pay extra for bedding and towel.

Review 110:That the bathrooms were in the rooms. rather than having to walk the hall ways to get to the bathrooms.

Review 111:almost 200 EUR per night with no cleaning, changing sheets or new towels during our 5 night stay. Uncomfortable beds. Very, very overpriced. This is the worst hotel or hostel I've ever stayed in.

Review 112:Free wifi - walking distance to Messe Frankfurt

Review 113:The room was a bit discounted but I didn't associate that with a possibility of discounted quality. I was put in a room just on top of the hotel entrance which means lot of noise and cigarette smoke coming up through the close window till quite late in the night. The mattress was very soft, on which the bedsheet and pillow case were with quite a lot of hair of different Colours.

Review 114:The official price of the room is far too high, the room is worth the 50 Euro i paid with a 'special discount' but not the 150 Euro of the full price.

Review 115:The location is 30mins walk(when with luggage), had better take S-Bahn or taxi. Wifi is really slow in the room.

Review 116:Nice staff, clean room, and there is a supermarkt "penny" within 1 min walk!

Review 117:One staff on front desk to serve, Not pleasant attitude, aggressive and rude behavior, bed mattresses, extra charge for bed sheets and less toiletries and not good quality hand wash.

Review 118:Wifi, lobby, room, toilet, bathroom, location, food, clean

Review 119:Not really a hostel, lot of older people staying there (seasonal workers). Place huge which makes it rather impersonal

Review 120:Good location not so far from the train station.

Review 121:Extra bed linen fee is expected if you don't bring yourself. Read the rule carefully.

Review 122:Wifi is available everywhere in the hostel. A small TV is equipped in the room.

Review 123:this is over all good but much over over expensive the facilities dose not match at all with the price

Review 124:this is over all good but much over over expensive the facilities dose not match at all with the price

Review 125:Very high rate (it was a fair event so everything is expensive but it was too much for the room). not bed sheets... not good towels... central heating not working very well. cushions not good...

Review 126:Location is good.

Review 127:Price, towels are given by the receptionist. Only one bath towel per person in the room. No hand towels.

Review 128:Location, clean rooms. 50 meters away from Sbahn (metro)

Review 129:The area is noisy area and not particularly exciting. The parking was full, but we were lucky to find a slot on the street.

Review 130:Close to town, good prices and good breakfast, friendly staff.

Review 131:In the middle of the night the fire alarm in our room went on, we all woke up very scared, my kids were screaming, (my son got literally traumatized) we all went down the hall just to find out that in the end some drunk guests turned it on. We left short after, around 5 am because my son did not want to stay there anymore,he was too scared. The employee that were there did not say or did anything to apologize for the inconvenience.

Review 132:it was located in an easy place

Review 133:Great location, being a 15 minute walk from the main railway station, as well as right next to an S-Bahn station. Despite the hostel's size, my room was spacious, very clean and very good value for the price. The ensuite bathroom was equally spacious, with a steaming hot shower (I was there in December).

Review 134:- the staff could be more organized for keeping the luggage room keys, as we had to wait for almost an hour for them to find the keys. - they should not extra charge for the bed sheets

Review 135:- the staff was helpful when we checked-in and to introduce about the town, giving us the maps - the location was great as it is next to the metro station - the bed were comfortable, considering the price we paid

Review 136:Women on reception was not so friendly. Checkin at 15.00 is not so convinient but on reception they allowed to checking at 14.00. But it will be nice to have it more early. Location slightly outside.

Review 137:All necessary things present: soap, towels, nice bed. good wifi. Location is not perfect but good enough: just one s-bahn station from main train station.

Review 138:The facilities and furniture were basic but you had all the essentials. Kids loved the soccer machine. They found many ways to be entertained. It was very easy to move back and forth to the city with the train. It took only a few minutes

Review 139:Location is one S-bahn station away from Frankfurt hbf. It is right in front of the S-bahn station so if you're ok to use S-bahn train then no problem. But there are many cheap hotels near the Frankfurt hbf, so I felt little bit regret.

Review 140:Clean, Quite, Everytyin was very good
