Reviews for Alpinhotel Berchtesgaden
Review 1:1. Smoking was excessive in hallways by staff and guests which was very unpleasant and smoke wafted into our room every night. 2. Doorless shower area not big enough so flooded bathroom area with water daily and it ran into toilet as well. Very unpleasant to deal with. 3. Noise from road/neighboring businesses was very loud when windows open.
Review 2:Staff was lovely. Hotel was nicely renovated. Good location to easily reach a variety of attractions in the area. Breakfast was fantastic.
Review 3:The only bad thing for me was the bed was way too firm and pillows where way too soft if you could call them pillows but that comes down to personal choice i guess,?
Review 4:FANTASTIC LOCATION THE VEIW FROM OUR BALCONY WAS STUNNING ,MY WIFE AND I WOULD LIKE TO COME BACK AGAIN AND SPEND MORE TIME. And the staff are outstanding and are willing to go out there way to help you .The hotel is spotless and looks like new with homely chateau look and feel LOVE IT.
Review 5:Breakfast weird with assigned seats? Felt controlling. Also for such a beautiful newly built facility to smell like smoke was most unfortunate .
Review 6:View was wonderful, the beds the best.
Review 7:No bad experience at all.
Review 8:Location was beautiful. The owners and staff were extremely nice and helpful. The hotel is very lovely totally renovated and beautiful done. Breakfast excellent and everything very clean.
Review 9:The scenery in this area is fabulous. The hotel location was just what we wanted, easy parking and a short drive to all the "must see sights" Would definitely recommend.
Review 10:No elivator - it's a small thing but it's the only thing I can think of besides no bacon for breakfast.
Review 11:New looking, large balcony, and a great shower.
Review 12:The local bus transport is good, leaving for Berchtesgaden and returning on an hourly basis. However, the last bus is at 18.15 which is inconvenient for eating in Berchtesgaden in the evening. The walk would be long with a not insignificant amount of uphill involved. There is one decent local restaurant. We should have tried Alpinhotels food, it looked good, but the restricted menu choice wont be for everyone.
Review 13:Everything was new! Nice bathrooms, great balcony and the German breakfast was good, lovely fresh bread. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and enjoyed a joke. The surrounding are very peaceful and scenic.
Review 14:Nothing to report here. It was a wonderful stay!
Review 15:The staff is super friendly and do a lot to make you feel at home and acclimate to the town. The location is breathtakingly beautiful and it's within 20-30 minutes of popular destinations like the Kelhsteinhaus and Königsee/Berchtesgaden National Park.
Review 16:The only thing I was missing was a kettle in the room for making tea, and the pillow was a bit too puffy for my liking.
Review 17:Ski chalet style hotel but with modern decoration - nice comfortable room and a good shower. Breakfast is buffet style with fresh fruits, breads, cereals, soft boiled eggs, cheeses and meats - all good quality product. Scenery is beautiful - on a clear day you can see the eagles nest. Its a short drive to the centre of Berchtesgaden and a 30 minute drive to Salzburg.
Review 18:Great location and a stellar view! The staff were so very helpful and the hotel was just lovely. I will definitely be back to stay at this hotel again. Made to feel so welcome.
Review 19:Bathroom a little small but very clean.
Review 20:Breakfast good. And A simple dinner is available with bar on hand. Every staff member can't do enough for you. Very pleasant stay.
Review 21:Selection for evening meals was small and had to be pre-ordered. But what we ate was very good quality.
Review 22:Helpful staff, freindly atmosphere, close to national park, lakes and historical sites.
Review 23:I really really hate the pillow!!!! it is not comfortable and make my head hurt!!!! The location is really far from the town and when I came there, it is public holiday and no bus.
Review 24:Nice employees even if they are not good at english. Breakfast is good and the location is suitable for people who get a car or plan to go to ski.
Review 25:No coffee making facility in room (I am a heavy coffee drinker)
Review 26:Staff; location, property, helpfulness of all staff, breakfast and dinner. One 'belongs/is included' into the family of the hotel.
Review 27:What I could have wished for. A stairway to the first floor with ledge and not a sharp edge, and rails on both sides.
Review 28:Alpinhotel and Alpincenter with ski school is family owned by a young couple with son. I was very happy to have found this place to stay. I could see the Eagle's Nest from my balcony. Excellent god working staff, rooms and food, cleanliness, comfort, newly built and the word's best ever shower. I Will definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone.
Review 29:minor thing….The bathroom sink shape is a bit challenging for rinsing out a few items, but we worked around that :-)
Review 30:We stayed for two nights. All family and staff are super friendly and very helpful. You are made to feel welcome and at home upon arrival. The hotel reception can advise and book various sightseeing options if you need that. (English) There is always someone around to assist. Would recommend and stay again. Room is very comfortable and modern with good beds and bathroom. Very well laid out. Our room faced the road (least expensive choice) and we were concerned about road noise, but the thick construction and triple pane windows reduced all outside noise. There is limited traffic at night and we did keep the window open. We ate a good breakfast (included in price) and dinner the hotel both nights after sight seeing all day. The dinner (one shared between two of us) and beverages were good value for our small appetites. Salad bar is an added bonus! Finer dining can likely be found in town, but we did not bother to look. The hotel is located up a short windy road 5 minutes out of town, thus it was nice to eat and have beer/wine without the issue of driving. We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed a beer and the view, very nice. The free Wifi worked great. Ample free parking, NOTE: If you are arriving from Germany via a car on the autobahn (normal route), don’t forget to get a toll road Vignette sticker, it’s a hefty fine If you get stopped without one, (120E). We were stopped and checked. We purchased ours ahead of time at gas station in Garmish (8E for 10 days).
Review 31:Located a little way out of town but it's not a problem if you have a car and it was well worth that small inconvenience.
Review 32:Friendly staff, cleanliness, comfort, newly built and the word's best ever shower ... or nearly. Will definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone.
Review 33:Having to leave at the end of our stay!
Review 34:What a wonderful stay. We felt that the standard of the rooms, facilities, location and value for money could not be faulted. Very modern design yet with a nod to the traditional. The balcony with its views of the mountains was simply glorious. As for customer service, all I can say is that in all our years of extensive travel we have never recieved such a warm, friendly, helpful and genuine reception. Incredible!
Review 35:Everything! This is a family run establishment, and the staff go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The hotel was rebuilt and opened in May 2014, which means that the facilities are up to date, modern and stylish...no chintz or plastic flowers in sight! Beware that although the address is Berchtesgarden, the hotel is actually in the village of Oberau. There is a bus service though and other hotels in the village. The hotel also offers very good evening meals, reasonably priced and better than anything we ate in town. Oberau is the in the Obersalzberg area, so the Eagles nest is viewable from the hotel and easily accessible. Tickets for local attractions can be purchased from reception and the staff are very knowledgeable about the area and speak English.
Review 36:Had to drive into town to find ATM machine to get cash, only one across street would not take cards from either US bank.
Review 37:AWESOME 12MB WIFI! Nice calm atmosphere, excellent views, very mellow place with ample parking.
Review 38:Everything made even better by the welcome we received throughout our short stay by Alexandra, Gabriela and Martina. As a base for seeing Salzburg and the Berchtesgaden area, this hotel is perfect.
Review 39:The location was a distance from the town of Berchtesgaden, so driving was the only way to get to town for an evening meal. Buses didn't run after 6 pm. The hotel's evening meal was not the greatest. The renovation of the bathroom was not complete and therefore the shower drained into the toilet area. They said they were ordering a shower door to alleviate that problem.
Review 40:Check-in was easy and informative. The room was recently renovated and clean. The breakfast buffet was very good.
Review 41:Stefan and the rest of the staff were amazing. The place is new and very clean - very well maintained. We had a baby with us, and they would boil water for his baby food, which made things very easy for us. They also provided great information about things to do in Berchtesgaden which was quite helpful.
Review 42:nothing, we are very happy with our stay in Alpinhotel.
Review 43:The location with views of the mountains. The fresh air, the food the breakfast the total relaxation. The new pine smell of the hotel and quiet location. The owners and staff were the best, we will visit again from time to time to reset from the stress of everyday life :)
Review 44:At the week end there were many noisy motorcycles accelerating past the hotel during the day to travel round the Rossfeld scenic route that passes the hotel.
Review 45:Really friendly with Staff that had a family atmosphere rather than employer/employee. Brand new hotel, Good breakfast, very comfortable, nothing too much trouble. Would definitely stay here again. If you have transport, this hotel is in a good position for visiting the beautiful Berchtesgaden area and is close to Salzburg.
Review 46:A modern hotel with old world charm. Breakfast and half board were very good.
Review 47:Great small hotel. Liked the location on the mountain in small village. Newer, clean and staff very helpful. Good breakfast.
Review 48:Staff is extremely friendly. Outstanding value. Beautiful views. Very clean and comfortable. Highly recommend.
Review 49:If your room is in the front it can be a little noisey but all in all I'd do it again!!
Review 50:Staff very friendly! Nice clean rooms, beautiful area!!
Review 51:Nice balcony room with lovely views, and the breakfast were delicious
Review 52:The hotel had had a complete refurbishment the year before, tastefully done. Everything worked.
Review 53:Great Watzmann views, lovely staff, we had a very good time there!
Review 54:dinners -not really catering for vegetarians
Review 55:excellent location for Rossfeld skiing, ski hire available at hotel, very friendly family owners
Review 56:bathroom sink was a little small
Review 57:Staff was so nice to us. They have really good food and enjoyed the view. Place is clean and free Wi-Fi.
Review 58:excellent breakfast very friendly English spoken
Review 59:I was very happy to have found this place to stay. You could see the Eagle's Nest from the balcony. Excellent staff, rooms and food!
Review 60:Nothing
Review 61:The owners were wonderful, the rooms were large, clean and the beds were comfortable
Review 62:Very nice owners and staff. New hotel with nice, clean and comfortable rooms. Included breakfast offers a very good variety. Great location to explore the Berchtesgaden area, especially the Eagle's nest which you can see from the hotel. Would stay at this hotel again anytime!
Review 63:Although the bathroom has a modern design with an awesome rainfall shower, the water tended to splash all over the place.
Review 64:This hotel is a brand new property, and conveniently located near the Eagle's Nest (Kehlsteinhaus). The bed was very comfortable and the WiFi was super fast. Breakfast is your usual alpine breakfast of cold cuts, soft boiled eggs, breads, jams, toast, cheeses, cereals, juices, and coffee. The view from the rear of the building is very nice and a small stream makes for a nice soundtrack. The staff was very accommodating and informative. The hotel is very pet friendly.
Review 65:The shower tends to flood the floor with water.
Review 66:The staff was super friendly! Allowed for a late checkout. Very helpful with maps and directions.
Review 67:Staff was extremely friendly and knowledgable of the area. The food was outstanding as was the view from the hotel.
