Reviews for Baynunah Hotel Drachenfels

Review 1:The Wi-Fi does only work in the reception area which is very cold in the winter. I gave in my key when I left in the morning without considering that I would only return after the reception had closed. Nobody answered the phone (there is a note outside with a number to call), and I had to walk around the town in pouring rain to find a place to sleep. I was lucky and found a hotel with an empty room. Next morning I went back for a shower, breakfast and to pick up my luggage. The receptionist did not speak English so I couldn't explain what happened. Remember your key!

Review 2:The breakfast area with a nice view to the river

Review 3:Though the Drachenfels/Bayunah is probably the best-value hotel in the vicinity, it is still slightly too expensive to be what I would consider "value for money". The lack of good hotels in this area increases prices and reduces value.

Review 4:Staff very friendly, makes up for lack of professional training

Review 5:The receptionist told us we did not have a reservation. When finally accepting we had she then said we hadnot a reservation for car parking. Again she finally found that we had but was very unhelpful with directions. She needs training or another job.

Review 6:Overlooked the Rhine. Good breakfast.

Review 7:with outside temperature high rooms needed air/con or a cooling fan. Refrigerator could have been better. No room safe

Review 8:Room was big and clean.bathroom was spotless.beds were comfortable.staff were really helpful. Breakfast was plenty and well presented. The hotel was secure. wifi was good even in bedrooms

Review 9:No bad experience at all.

Review 10:From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we felt like we had stayed within a family home - the owners were so keen to ensure that we were comfortable at that everything was ok. The hotel is well located for day trips to Bonn, Koln, Koblenz, and Phantasialand. Staff were easy going and helpful - we had a lovely breakfast every day, as well as a late night cuppa after our long days out.

Review 11:We were there during a heat wave, some air conditioning would have been appreciated.

Review 12:Staff was super friendly and willing to offer help, location was perfect.

Review 13:The owner was absolutely accommodating and helpful upon our exceptionally early check in. The final price we paid also happened to be lower than expected! what a deal!

Review 14:Friendly , welcoming staff. Very helpful.I had difficulty finding parking because of my Trailer and the staff were incredibly helpful and went out of their way to resolve the problem for me. First class.

Review 15:Every thing was perfect and gorgeous at this Hotel.

Review 16:I Loved the nice Rhein River view, room size , the very very friendly managment and being in The King Winters area which gives the most clean Weather you can ever breath , while you still in Bonn activities , just a small jump to the street infront of the Hotel then you are linked with the most atrative cities around Bonn ( Dusseldorf and cologne ) by a river ferry .

Review 17:The view from the restaurant was amazing!

Review 18:very nice experience

Review 19:Old bathroom.Broken floor tiles. Stained bed sheets

Review 20:Best location

Review 21:The manager and staff - great, friendly, helpful, pleasant and welcoming.

Review 22:The toilet was not well cleaned on some days.

Review 23:The bed was comfortable and it was near the tram station

Review 24:Pre-booked and prepaid car parking space was only suitable for a very small car...luckily we found a space in the public car park nearby...

Review 25:Helpful friendly staff

Review 26:The breakfast is very complete

Review 27:The location is superb and the room is much bigger than we expected.

Review 28:I stayed for 6 nights but only around 3 nights the room was cleaned.

Review 29:The location, the breakfast and water for coffee and coffee is available anytime.

Review 30:Very friendly personnel! Dedicated and committed to serve the guests well ;)

Review 31:Everything was great

Review 32:NO LATE NIGHT Check in despite being requested - only got in because some folks were coming back late. the late night call service just went to a voicemail that was ignored. they acted as if nothing happened. Never saw such dirty carpet in room. AVOID- its a DUMP

Review 33:absolutely nothing

Review 34:Being redirected to the Guesthouse Annexe, 200 metres away. It was a clean but very sparse room, but the free wi-fi which was available on the main hotel was not on offer in the guesthouse

Review 35:Cleanroom, lovely small town

Review 36:- Hotel has its own garage, but the staff instructed to go 200 m away- no bar - when you sit (just sit as there is no bar) in the room near reception, they switched off the electricity - the man in receiption is very nervous and unkind

Review 37:The carpet does need to be replaced as it has many stains. A mini-bar/fridge would be a nice addition to the room.

Review 38:The hotel is located on the Rhine River and although the room windows don't face the river, you get a very beautiful view from the side. You also get a very good view of the Sea Life aquarium which is right next store but that is no big deal as it doesn't open until 10:00 and is closed by 18:00. The hotel would be perfect for families that plan to visit Sea Life as they have interconnecting rooms. When the windows are closed, the room was very quiet even with being across from the ferry dock. The staff was very friendly greeting us every time we passed. The hotel is a clean, basic hotel that fulfills basic needs and we were happy with our choice. The breakfast is basic as well offering cereals, juice, coffee, yogurt, eggs, cheese and sliced sausages/wursts. The Altes Brauhaus, 5 minutes from the hotel, has great German dishes for dinner. The ease of getting to the hotel with parking beneath is a perk. Note - parking is €8 per day not €7 as listed and worth it.

Review 39:Operating the locks to get into the rooms, poor lighting on the landings. No comfy chair to sit in.

Review 40:Breakfast was excellent. Good range of buffet style foods, excellent coffee & hot bread rolls. Good showers, beds v comfortable. Really helpful staff.

Review 41:Taxi could not find hotel - it is poorly sign posted despitereceptionist insisting otherwise. Street address faces river but signsnot visable (entrance from rear).New room 99.9% finished. I was on business trip. Long day. Room was in seperate building ~100meters walk away. No phone or onsite staff, flatscreen TV had no antenna, no wifi or radio, room was chilly so I went straight to bed (and slept very comfortably in king size bed). I would use this hotel again so my discomfort was slight/acceptable.

Review 42:Staff + Breakfast was very good. New room (62) was large and lookedluxurious. Excellent value, I would return/stay again.

Review 43:There was really nothing I did not like.

Review 44:I liked the overqualified staff, their helpfulness and competence.

Review 45:No parking available and no internet in room. No fridge in room.

Review 46:Hotel is on the river.

Review 47:Basic

Review 48:Clean, WiFi access

Review 49:the friendly staff and position of hotel by the rhine
