Reviews for Regent Berlin
Review 1:The breakfast in the restaurant was somewhat disappointing considering the price, we used room service from second morning on. The room we've got was (in past?) smoking one and it smelled. But when we complained we were moved to another room that was perfect.
Review 2:Perhaps, one of the best locations for sightseeing; all the staff is very helpful and friendly; quiet and relaxing atmosphere in the room and hotel in general; big and comfortable in every respect room.
Review 3:Nobody is welcoming you when you enter the Hotel, a very cold reception. At certain moments there is nobody ! They were not able to give me the same room like last year, but they were not booked out .
Review 4:The breakfast is very nice and specially when Mario is looking after you !
Review 5:Bitter experience with arrogant(racist?)head waiter of the Meissen lounge. Hotel manager did not think it was important enough to call and thought that an email from his operations manager was enough. I returned to stay at the Ritz-Carlton the following week.Shame despite the over-all positve experience.
Review 6:Privacy/exclusivity
Review 7:Only disappointment is that there are no coffee or tea making facilities in the room (not unusual in Germany), which would have been nice.
Review 8:A fabulous hotel with every possible luxury. We were very well looked after by all the staff. Easy to walk to all the major sights and many Christmas markets. Our twin bedded room was huge, and had 3 large windows looking out. The large bathroom was luxurious and had lovely toiletries which were replaced each day.Beds were extremely comfortable and the bedding was of a high quality. Can't praise this hotel enough.
Review 9:The concierge's customer service left much to be desired. When asked a simple question, she couldn't be bothered to answer. Also, the customer service in the bar was terrible. We had to ask for water several times, and we had a difficult time flagging down the waiter (it's a really small room).
Review 10:The service by the check-in counter and restaurant was simply first-rate. And, room service was dream. Staff manning those stations went above and beyond the call of duty making us comfortable.
Review 11:We loved most of the staff, but the occasional desk person could be chilly in answering questions and responding to requests. This may have been due to language discomfort, though.
Review 12:The room was beautiful and quiet and the linens, marble bath and service were terrific. I can't think of a better location for exploring Berlin! And the bar is a bit hidden but worth finding for a very comfortable place to have a drink and/or a light meal.
Review 13:The hotel appointments are absolutely gorgeous, the room and bath -with no upgrade - lavish, the service impeccable. And the locationcould not have been better. This hotel makes staying anywhere else areal comedown.
Review 14:Well located luxury hotel, which is walking distance to most museums and important sights. We were pleased to discover that we were able to charge our dinner at the pleasant Italian restaurant nearby to our hotel account.
Review 15:Nothing.
Review 16:The whole staff was the friendliest I've ever met. Each person went out of their way to assist, and to make everything seem special for you.
Review 17:Although the hotel had a beautiful foyer and comfortable room we felt it was overpriced. We paid over £200 per night but breakfast was not included and would have cost 35 euros pp for essentially a croissant. The cost of dinner or room service was prohibitive. This was a deluxe room but there was only one armchair
Review 18:Very good location - close to good restaurants and convenient for sightseeing and concerts
Review 19:Possibly not getting into the sunny breakfast room
Review 20:Loved the concierge! They were so helpful bravo to Stefan and John Loved the front desk The room service was fast and kind!
Review 21:The food available in the hotel, although well presented and most tasty, is far too expensive when compared to what is available in the surrounding area. We found the majority of the staff to be most pleasant and helpful but there were a couple of staff members who adopted a superior attitude which we did not appreciate. As paying guests, the customer is more important than individual egos.
Review 22:The Regent has an unrivalled location with major sites within easy walking distance! Good shops and restaurants are plentiful in the surrounding area. This is a beautiful, classically decorated hotel which is both charming and luxurious. The hotel doormen, reception staff and waiters need to be commended in particular for their politeness and helpfulness.
Review 23:We paid something around $300/night, so I would expect to have the ability to make coffee in the morning or least have a place in the lobby where we could go and get it ourselves. We did manage to get a to go cup from the restaurant, but they really did nod seem all that pleased about it. Also, $35 for a set breakfast of eggs seemed high. Continental breakfast of $25 is also high.
Review 24:Location
Review 25:1. There is effectively no hotel restaurant, because 'Fischers Fritz' is a Michelin restaurant charging silly show-off prices, e.g. £25 for a breakfast no better than you can pay £5 for in the same locality. 2. Some of the staff spoke limited English, which was curious considering that we encountered only English-speaking guests. 3. The spa (one of our reasons for choosing the Regent) was closed throughout most of our stay, yet we were not told either in advance or on arrival, and received no recompense. 4. The Thursday barbecue we were promised did not happen, yet staff were unaware that it had been cancelled even after it was supposed to have started! None of these last three issues was good enough at a 5-star hotel.
Review 26:1. Exceptionally handy location, with good transport links and many attractions close by in all directions. 2. Very smart and tidy throughout. 3. Generally charming and helpful staff. 4. Free bottle of water in the room every day.
Review 27:Pervasive smell of food odor or wet carpet in the hallway to our room; check in failed to see our upgrade and sent us to the wrong category rooms upon arrival.
Review 28:Limoges coffee cups and orchids in the room! White linen makeup mats in the bathroom, quality room service, Roland, the Tea Master--an expert who exemplified true customer service! Centrally located.
Review 29:One particular gentlemen staff member (with bald head), who I sighted occasionally swanning around the ground floor reception area, who's behaviour appeared pompous and arrogant for apparently no reason whatsoever, needless to say, I didn't enjoy contact with him at all. I think, generally the reception staff were all a bit formal & cool and they could all lighten up a bit, smile and still be professional. Breakfast room was too warm by a degree or two. Housekeeping seemed a bit stingy on the toiletries for a junior suite, unless we were just unlucky.
Review 30:Room comfort, bed & linens, breakfast service was attentive.
Review 31:No swimming pool. No nespresso machines in room (later I was informed it's only by request) No casual dining restaurant
Review 32:Confortable and large room Delicious breakfast Outstanding staff Free wifi internet Good location
Review 33:rooms not ready and misunderstanding when checking out resulting in me having to settle a further bill making it complicated to claim back expenses. i asked specifically and was told no it was covered!
Review 34:Staff were very accomadating and professional if not 100% competent . room was great and the hotel on general very much lived up to its 9.8 rating! Awesome driver!
Review 35:The fact that they didn't have a tea kettle, cups and tea bags in the room. However They provided the kettle and the cups on request.
Review 36:The location, the quality of the rooms and bathrooms, and the service of the staff.
Review 37:Limited air conditioner, weak wi-fi (you have to pay for the one that really works). They charge full price for breakfast in the room, not just a room charge, even when it is included in the room rate.
Review 38:Great location, good confort, cleanness and breakfast.
Review 39:We wished they had a cheaper breakfast option, although the breakfast is delicious with wonderful service. We also wish they had a coffee maker in the room.
Review 40:We liked everything about the hotel. The decor is beautiful, everything is clean, the staff is very attentive. We could walk to most of the areas we wanted to see. Public transportation was handy. There were lots of restaurants within a short distance.
Review 41:The hotel is a bit old school stuffy, more suitable for older people. The bar is ridiculously expensive, I paid €15 for a normal gin and tonic.
Review 42:Hotels is beautiful, very comfortable room and bed was amazing to sleep in, very quiet at night and early morning.
Review 43:We always use that bars in the hotels during the evenings where we read a book and have a few drinks before dinner. Here it was WAY too expensive, which led to that the hotel was very empty during the evenings. We had our drinks near by at half the cost.
Review 44:Loved the location and hotel all over. Nice rooms and excellent staff. Really clean everywhere. Wonderful breakfast.
Review 45:Staff at breakfast and in the bar were generally inattentive. They weren't watching. We had to get their attention.
Review 46:Location, quality of the hotel: we have stayed there three times now.
Review 47:The fashion week was on while I was there and a big party took place in the artium. I had a room in the 6 th floor and still at midnight, there was noise from music and people.
Review 48:No tea/coffee making facilities in the room, which seems strange for a 5 star hotel. Room service cup of tea cost €12 ! That is a very very large mark up for a tea bag and a pot of boiling water. The gym is very basic. No pool.
Review 49:Just about everything. We were treated like royalty from the moment we stepped out of the taxi. Staff very helpful and friendly. Great breakfast. We ate like kings ! The concierge (Cem) was extremely helpful and booked restaurants and sightseeing for us. Room was well appointed overlooking the courtyard, was very spacious, as was the bathroom. And it was very quiet. Would definitely recommend it.Luxury and opulence aboung !
Review 50:The heating at the new years eve was not working properly in my superior room & decided to contact the front desk next morning. After we spent a fabolous night in a nice restaurant returned back to find an electric heater pluged in the bathroom !! a wet surface. Documented to be published in social media. Total disappointment...
Review 51:Very nice location but paying extra 15 euros for couple of tea bags and a kettle when asked for was ridicilous for a hotel at this star rating plus a 2 euros service charge which should be free of charge ...
Review 52:No spice, nothing to keep your eye on – a very bland hotel. Food was good, but not great, very “safe”. We were hoping for a bit more spice from a hotel positioning itself at the top level.
Review 53:Overall everything good and reliable, nice fireplaces in Lobby area and in the restaurant.
Review 54:Helpful and charming staff. Large and very well appointed room and bathroom. Excellent wi-fi set up, with international connections in desk and once only sign in. Lovely breakfast. Fabulous location.
Review 55:Not a thing at all!
Review 56:Right from the entrance you will feel the luxury and especially in this festive season, the scented candles and the gorgeous giant flower arrangement over the table in the lobby was amazing, a must see! the welcoming door gentleman was very courteous in his way of approaching to us. The fireplace in the small tea room in the evenings provided a real home feeling rather than a clod hotel! Everything was over superb conditions! Thanks a million.
Review 57:Treatment when they sent out something for cleaning and at checkout. Concierge. Some of the staff.
Review 58:location attention to problems room was comfortable and large
Review 59:A minor point echoed by others - the lack of tea and coffee making facilities in the otherwise well-appointed rooms.
Review 60:A high quality hotel centrally located - perfect for a weekend break. Service is efficient, the hotel pristine, the decor luxurious with a wide choice of well-cooked breakfast making for a positive start to the day.
Review 61:cleaning is good but compare to other service I will rate it less Should serve free larg of still water every day
Review 62:free amenities location staff friendly
Review 63:A swimming pool in the spa would be the icing on the cake! I think there was some kind of arrangement with a local health spa but this could have been better explained/advertised. Tea/coffee making facilities should be available in bedrooms.
Review 64:All staff were very welcoming. Breakfast was worth including as the choice was superb! The young staff were very attentive but discreet and always smiling, a lovely way to start the day! The hotel is very central and Berlin is an easy city to explore, transport connections are excellent.
Review 65:Excellent location for sightseeing and for finding restaurants in the evening. The hotel restaurant is 2 Star Michelin and you get what you expect at the price. However, we saw that the lunch menu is good value but since we never stop long enough when sightseeing for a leisurely lunch we missed out on that experience. The breakfast is also excellent with a wonderful selection of fruit, cereals and cooked dishes, with cheeses and cuts on the table. Asking for extras like a decaffeinated coffee was also no trouble. However, it would be nice to be able to eat something less expensive in the evenings in the bar or perhaps in the tea room. While the decor in the entrance, the restaurant and other public areas is beautiful we felt our room was a little tired but our view of the French Church and the TV Tower made you know you were in Berlin. Would we stay here again? A resounding "Yes".
Review 66:The beds were comfortable, but we found them a little narrow.
Review 67:Location: excellent with good access to museums, shopping, transit and everything one would want and need. Staff: knowledgeable, helpful, attentive and very service focused. Hotel: well maintained, quiet and comfortable and well maintained. Although it is a busy hotel, one never gets the sense of being overwhelmed by other guests or forgotten, the attention to details+++ Nice spa area too.
Review 68:Breakfast a little stuffy and too much running around by staff. A beautiful buffet and fewer cooked choices but scrumptious would have made this absolutely perfect. ( we didn't love how the eggs, omelets and french toast were prepared). Pretty good all round, not great.
Review 69:Lovely helpful friendly staff always on the ready, beautiful well maintained facilities, old fashioned luxury, understated low key staff that made you feel comfortable. Well located central location with major sites a few minutes walk.
Review 70:Some of the Staff in the concierge not all, they were not up to it ( Hotel standard ) Those staff they shouldn't be in this Hotel they are unfriendly.
Review 71:Basically Every thing.
Review 72:My only complaint is that the breakfast menu, and the staff, failed to advise of a cold buffet option at a fraction of the price of the other prix fixe breakfasts offered in the dining room. Only by chance, having looked at the room service menu, did I learn the this and other a la carte choices are available. This, and the wait staff appearing at each table with a pitcher of orange juice in hand, unrequested, gives me the impression that the hotel views breakfast as an easy profit source.
Review 73:Felt impersonal, no coffee making facilities in the room. Large luxury hotel could be anywhere.
Review 74:Location was good. Room large and comfortable. Breakfast good although questionable as to whether it was worth €35 per head. Did leave some snacks out pre marathon but did not have enough staff on at breakfast to serve everyone.
Review 75:Don't let them shuffle you into the bar for breakfast. It's dark, unfriendly, with not so responsive staff. Stand your ground -- sometimes hard to do with the Germans -- and wait for a table in the restaurant.
Review 76:What's true for real estate is true for hotels: location location location. This hotel is steps from the Gendarmenmarkt Square, one of the most beautiful we have seen. The hotel is beautiful, beds comfy, staff responsive (with a little prodding sometimes). We would go back.
Review 77:I called guest services to report that the in-room safe malfunctioned. I was assured that someone would attend to it, but it was still broken 3 days later, when I left. When I left at 7 a.m. for the airport, there were no doormen on duty, and we had to hail our own taxi and load our luggage ourselves.
Review 78:The staff were highly efficient, friendly, and spoke good English. Check in and check out were smooth and quick.
Review 79:First impressions are always important and we received a friendly and efficient welcome when we checked in. The hotel is ideally located in Charlottenstrasse which is close to the historic centre of Berlin but just far enough away from the the noisier Unter den Linden and Friedrichstasse. The staff were helpful and cheerful. The concierge was knowledgeable and helpful when it came to arranging bookings and trips. I would happily recommend this hotel to others, it is not cheap but unlike many other luxury hotels you do get what you pay for! We certainly intend to return to the Regentwhen we next visit Berlin.
Review 80:The Regent Berlin was everything I was thinking it would be and more. My stay there was only 4 days but it was an amazing 4 days of touring and wandering the historical city of berlin. The views from my room were great and the comfort experienced while I was there was excellent.
Review 81:Lack of tea and coffee making facilities in our room.
Review 82:Great hotel, great decor, staff and facilities. It was our 43rd wedding anniversary and based on that they upgraded us and gave us a bottle of champagne and strawberries
Review 83:Check in was very cold and not professional, given wrong and illogical explanation on where to buy a simcard! Not explained anything about the hotel, not shown to the room! Waiter at breakfast looked bored and inefficient, not smiling. Concierge made reservations in2 restaurants but never wrote the confirmation with the address on paper . The sheet on the bed was too short and showed the plastic protection on the mattress. Cold air was blowing from vent even with the AC off,the technician had to cover it with tape. Buffet at breakfast so small that people have to be in line to get food even though it was not crowded?
Review 84:Location,wood decoration in lobby and dining room, very big and nice bathroom. Good value for that week end.
Review 85:Phillipp the concierge was extremely helpful. Lined up a private guide on short notice who took us on an extraordinary walking tour. The summer courtyard and fitness facility are real pluses. Old world service with free wifi and fitness. Highest recommendation.
Review 86:There should be tea/coffee making facilities in bedrooms also a five star hotel with no swimming pool ? whats going on there. Some of the reception staff were a bit abrupt.
Review 87:Excellent hotel spotless clean everywhere superb breakfast
Review 88:Bycycle rental costs €25 a day - on the street €10/12. Same quality bikes on the street.
Review 89:Fantastic room - very quiet - very clean with a tiny balcony. Professional staff - all the way.
Review 90:We missed the facility to make a cup of tea or coffee in our room. A small thing really.
Review 91:An excellent standard of presentation and service. A truly beautiful hotel. The breakfast were wonderful and our room was spotless.
Review 92:foul smell at the elevator on 8th floor, food and vine overpriced, lack of swimming pool.
Review 93:Size of the room, excellent breakfast, friendly staff, restaurant.
Review 94:we had to leave to go home!
Review 95:Perfect location, excellent staff and facilities. We had a very relaxing 4 days in early July this year and would stay there again.
Review 96:This is an excellent Hotel in a great location. It is close to bars, restaurants and transport plus all the top Berlin attractions. The staff were professional, polite, helpful and very friendly and helpful, breakfast was relaxed and comprehensive - I would stay again.
Review 97:Politeness of the front desk personnel can be improved. The breakfast administration can be improved as well. Food portions are small, any additional slice must be asked separately. The shower in the bathroom is not provided with a a flexible tube. Not enough soap and bath cosmetics.
Review 98:Nice design and ambiance, old fashion furniture, pictures. Clearly the hotel had a very good architect and designer.
Review 99:Small pet hate, having to register for the internet every day of the stay.
Review 100:Location and helpful staff. Room quite large and very comfortable.
Review 101:Every single thing!!!

Review 122:No swimming pool
Review 123:everything

Review 125:The exercise facilities were clean but lacking equipment.
Review 126:The service and location were outstanding!
