Review 1：Minor complaints, but the pillows were too soft and the mattress too hot.

Review 2：Convenient location. The staff were all very friendly. The breakfast was good value. This will be our hotel of choice for our next visit to Berchtesgaden.

Review 4：We loved the location of the hotel, right across the road from the station with a good view of the river. The smiling assistant at the front desk was really friendly with a good sense of humour. The breakfasts were outstanding and were able to get a bus card for transport.

Review 7：The hotel was ideally based from the train station and the tourist office (tours of the Eagle Nest), however, it was not that convenient to the old town. The staff were very nice and breakfast was excellent. The room was comfortable, but modest. The WIFI for me worked excellent from my room, but I was just above reception- I did notice others had difficulties. For a short term stay I would recommend this hotel.

Review 10：They wouldn't work with you on a cancellation. Things happen and we had proof our family missed there flights from USA out of there control and they wouldn't budge. Sad. Rooms were ok. Felt more like a cheap hotel room that you paid more for.

The wireless internet was very weak. The room was really warm in the Summer with no air conditioning. Road across the river in the back of the hotel was noisy at night.

Review 22：I was recommended by the staff that the restaurants in the hotel and had my dinner there during my nice. The services of the restaurant is bad, one of the worst, I have experienced. We ordered two main dishes which should be come with the salad buffet. As we were asked to sit in a corner of the restaurants, we have no idea there is salad bar in the restaurants and keep waiting for the salad to be served. No one told us where is the salad bar and let us know there is salad in the bar. We only discover until we see someone others have their salad. We asked the waiter and she said "the head waiter haven't told you?" and after 5 mins the head waiter came and just said "it's written in the menu, you can go and get it" . What a good service. The food is not good at all either. I've ordered a steak, it's tough and overcooked. The room is nice but never try their restaurants.

Review 23：Good location, very near to the train station. The room is very clean and comfort and the staff is very nice too.

Review 24：We sent requested via booking.com for room with'river view & balcony'during booking. We were finally disappointed. When we checked in, we were finally told that all 'river view' rooms are reserved for her 'Long Stay Guest'. If your trip is planned for a short stay of 1 night, you have to manage your own expectation. Btw, please be reminded that no refrigerator nor kettle inside the room.

Review 26：My room was location at the ground floor and faced to the open area of the restaurant. I could not sleep at all until I locked tightly of the windows to avoid the noise of laughing and chatting came from a large group gathering in that open area.

Review 29：Wifi! It doesn't work great in bedrooms so you have to sit in reception to get a good signal. The breakfast staff were not very cheerful, maybe because the hotel seems to cater for coach tours and the restaurant can get very busy.

Review 30：This hotel is well located for visiting many places (Eagles Nest/ Berchtesgaden/ Konigsee Lake/ Salt Mines/Salzburg, among many others) The photo is deceptive as the hotel is on a busy road and roundabout, we did not experience noise from this even though we had a room with a balcony at the front of the hotel and kept the door open all night. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from the train/bus station. The rooms are a little out of date, but are spotlessly clean. Infact the whole hotel is spotlessly clean. Our daughter loved the swimming pool and the sun beds were the most so comfy! Parking is limited but there is ample public parking opposite, we parked our car there and it was fine.

Review 44：Great location, just beside the railway station, main bus station and 3 big supermarkets, very convenient for those travelling with public transportation. Very good breakfast. Hotel offered complimentary local travel pass, saved our bus fees:-) 10-15min walk to town center, which is extremely beautiful place, must see.

Tip, if you use the bus to go to the Eagles nest time your return down to coinside when the bus gets back to the pick up point or it's a long wait. 10 min walk up to main centre & 15 min to salt mine. Review 47：Photograph gives impression that hotel is outside centre of Berchtesgaden, ie rural. This is misleading as it overlooks a small river behind which is a busy main road and a railway station. At the side of this is a busy roundabout and the entry to a small trading estate. The hotel caters for coach parties which can result in crowded breakfasts. The hotel is a considerable way from the village and restaurants are in short supply.

Review 48：Location for Konigsee. Reception staff very helpful. Easy parking

Review 49：They allow only 1 WiFi code per person ...not per device. So, chose carefully when you decide whether you will use the WiFi for your phone, or ipad, or computer. The WiFi signal was very weak and we spent several hours sitting in the lobby where the signal was slightly better. The rooms are on the small size and the table/lights are difficult if you are trying to work. FYI: There is no air conditioning and the heat was shut off for the summer. There were a few cold nights, so be prepared.

Review 50：The location is fantastic! We walked to everything including other restaurants, market, tourist info center and the bus/train station. Breakfast was extremely good and the restaurant staff were very accommodating! Parking is easy.

Review 78：A number of towns and cities are within easy reach of Berchtesgarten. The public transport is reliable and within a stone's throw from the hotel. The view over the mountain is superb ! The staff are all excellent.

Review 94：We decided for this hotel because it's swimming pool, so that our children can simply entertain themselves without leaving the house, but it was out of order. There is no elevater, and our room locates on the 4th floor.

Review 96：The bathroom was tiny. The toilet is fit snugly between the shower and wall. The temperature of the water was constantly changing from hot to cold while using the shower. The beds were very firm. Finally, when we booked the room we did not provide a preference for the payment method. While we were checking out the clerk informed us their credit card machine was down and that we had to pay cash. We didn't have enough so she told us to go to an ATM to get cash but she wouldn't provide us the nearest location. She eventually allowed us to leave our credit card number and processed it when their CC machine came back up.

Review 97：This is our second stay in the hotel. The last time we stayed in the newly renovated section of the hotel and this time we stayed in the older section of the hotel. The location is great, the night clerk provides tips about the local area and Salzburg and the breakfast was good.

Review 98：The biggest problem was the Wi-Fi was not working in our room. We called down and were told to come down to the lobby since it was broken in the rooms. We spoke to others and it was working in their rooms. We then spoke to the owner and asked if we could have another room where the Wi-Fi worked as we need it to contact family and figure out next part of the trip. We were treated very rudely and the owner even hung up the phone on us. For the price there are other places you should consider first.

Review 99：No pot, no glasses, no complimentary water, and the hotel restaurant is closed in the evening. We didn't know and thus didn't stock up our water supply. The heater wasn't working, I felt so cold throughout the night and couldn't sleep well. Not a good experience at all.

Review 111：The location was excellent, easy to find - just one look from the main train station. We had a very small twin room on the ground floor the first day of our 4-night stay, which seemed to be part of a family unit - but we asked for a bigger room, and they kindly obliged the next day when a vacancy was available. Ms Grunberger herself, whom we met , is a lovely person - someone who cares about her guests as well as a person who stands up for her staff. In any case, her staff are excellent - the reception was efficient and helpful with on how to get to places, the housekeeping was efficient and honest even though we had left our luggage unlocked and things were left lying around on the night-stands. I enjoyed also the breakfasts which featured a generous spread, and the equally, the dinners were excellent. Thank you very much. Your hotel is one of the best I have stayed in.

Review 112：Long uphill walk to the city center. We had nice weather so we walked up for dinner.

Review 113：Spacious clean room with modern spacious shower. Breakfast was plentiful. The hotel lies on the route to the jennerbahn and the boat ride on Konigsee. Free parking within the hotel and if that gets filled up, there is parking across the road.
