Reviews for Sport Hotel
Review 1:Pillows a little soft and bathrooms looking a little tired. Otherwise all good.
Review 2:Staff amazing and so close to the slopes. Great holiday again, thank you.
Review 3:Free wifi in reception only and not in the rooms (no wifi in rooms at all).
Review 4:Very comfortable well appointed hotel. Great location, gondola and ski hire shops are below hotel. Fantastic breakfast.
Review 5:Our transfers were severely delayed so we arrived 90 mins late after 11pm having not eaten for 6 hours. It would have been nice to have been able to get a snack upon arrival. Fortunately a late night cafe was open not too far away.
Review 6:Conveniently located to amenities and slopes. Some family were staying in Sport Village, so great that we were able to spend time with them at either location easily. Staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Review 7:Has good leisure facilities, but you have to pay extra to use them! No wifi in rooms.
Review 8:Nice, large hotel in excellent location. Fantastic breakfast, didn't try the evening menu.
Review 9:Rooms need updating and the views to the mountais are partially blocked by the buildings in the opposite side of the street.
Review 10:Good facilities, opposite to the cable car to main Soldeu ski slopes. Extraordinary spa although it is not cheap. Great buffet selection, breakfast and dinner were very good. Very attentive staff.
Review 11:No free wifi in rooms and coverage not great everywhere in lobby
Review 12:Apart from brilliant snow, the luxury of the rooms Excellent diverse breakfast choices Lovely staff everywhere
Review 13:No wifi in the rooms
Review 14:Hotel staff and location, excellent for skiing. However, the fact that you cannot get Wifi in your room in this time period is a little behind the times. Please, please, please update and then all will be excellent.
Review 15:Although part of the Sports Hotel complex you had to pay to use the pool and hot tubs. 37 euros for 3 hours. Would not do any less than 3 hours. Better off staying at a cheaper hotel and paying to use the facilities. All you get for the high hotel price is the name, do not expect anything else. Rooms not particularily big. No Wifi in rooms.
Review 16:Location is good, hotel is nice and always warm. Beer prices are good. Breakfast is very good, lots of choice.
Review 17:For the price charged there should be Wi Fi in the rooms. I could not ski and needed to work but had to do so in the communal areas. I also was displeased that although the SPA was supposed to be open at 10am, I arrived at 10.30 and was told to wait 5 mins whilst the jacuzzis were turned on. Also the Steam rooms were not switched on and I could not use them. I booked the hotel for the SPA and this was a disappointment.
Review 18:The Staff were very helpful, the breakfast was lovely. The decor, whilst a little dated, was in keeping with a skiing resort.
Review 19:Ageing facilities (especially rooms), poor decor (except in common areas), poor noise insulation, bar closed after 8pm in New Years eve day!!!!! Despite many guests protest nothing could be done about it. It should be much cheaper with these limitations.
Review 20:Location, convenience for ski, amicable staff (even if limited by overpowered by bad management rules and decisions). Good breakfast and dinner.
Review 21:Rooms are functional rather than aesthetically pleasing. Wifi is not available in the rooms, just in the public areas.
Review 22:Large rooms, friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast spread, proximity to ski lifts and ski lockers, amazing wellness centre. Roadside parking.
Review 23:Old fashioned rooms, with ancient TV, and sintetic blankets...
Review 24:Location, hall...
Review 25:Excellent hotel, best staff.
Review 26:The cost this year
Review 27:We have stayed at the sport and sister hotel many times Our stays have been consistently good
Review 28:Nothing we didn't like
Review 29:Great hotel, fantastic location for gondola, friendly staff and brilliant food
Review 30:Fantastic position for the ski lifts and great spa facilities - will return
Review 31:Nothing really.
Review 32:The closeness to the gondola and locker room.
Review 33:The carpet in the room.
Review 34:Friendly, nice and helpful personal.Very good breakfast. Good location too skiing.
Review 35:Bedrooms dated and tired looking and a little on small side.
Review 36:Location and lounge area best features
Review 37:not keen on self serve food at dinner times
Review 38:location and value for money for quality of hotel
Review 39:There was not wifi access from room, no parking, dinner is too expensive!
Review 40:Ski in - ski out, ski lockers, close to restaurants and grocery shop
Review 41:Everything is arranged around making skiing as easy as possible - location, lockers near the slopes, organising ski passes, etc
Review 42:No wi-fi in room or free use of pool...
Review 43:Most things good, breakfast very good.....
Review 44:Food was excellent but a lot needs to be hotter including the plates being warm. Spa is fabulous but really so expensive for guests it should be a lot more discounted.
Review 45:Lovely hotel all round, good food with a 'but'. Fabulous Spa, again with a 'but'!
Review 46:1. Bed mattress is old and not comfortable. 2. No WiFi in the rooms 3. No LCD TV in the room
Review 47:1. Very good food 2. Nice and very helpful staff 3. Very good location
Review 48:The standard of rooms were poor for cost. Wardrobe door hanging off, wallpaper peeling off. The lock on the balcony door was broken so the door blew open at night with high winds. This was resolved when we pointed it out. Overall disappointed as we paid a lot of money to stay here.
Review 49:Location was fantastic.
Review 50:Food not as good this year as in previous years and fewer restaurant staff - difficult to get drinks with evening meal.
Review 51:Location. Been here many times and its a great hotel. Rooms have had a slight refurb which they needed.
Review 52:Some noise at night from other (drunk) guests, dinner started at 7.30, 7pm would be better for hungry skiers!
Review 53:Great location for the slopes, access to the other sport hotel facilities, good food, amazing value for a ski resort.
Review 54:Bathroom was not clean: there were hairs in the bathroom when we arrived Price is much too much for what you get (and I mean much too much). On top you have to pay extra for everything else you would like! Quality of the rooms is old fashioned and average (small bathroom with very small bath, bed of less than average quality, no double bed in spite of specifically asking for it, etc etc) which was really not expected for even half the prices they ask.
Review 55:Breakfast was good
Review 56:The only real complaint we had was the food was never really hot. It was always luke warm even when it had just been brought out.
Review 57:Everyone was really helpful, and we where delayed due to English storms, we let them know and we were not charged. That was a nice surprise. Also being right opposite the slopes was a good advantage.
Review 58:My only complaint would be the bedrooms are very warm even with the heating off.
Review 59:The bar area and seats are great after a long day skiing. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast has a very good buffet style choice.
Review 60:Expensive 'all you can eat' buffet was the only option for dinner, so we went out. Spa/swimming option far too expensive at €35 per person per session. Parking across the street was expensive at nearly €12 per day
Review 61:Nice room with Balcony - and bidet! Knowledgeable and friendly staff
Review 62:Beds and pillows not quite up to scratch bit uncomfortable. Shower curtain stuck to your body when showering bit gross! Nice hot water however good pressure!
Review 63:Friendly staff went out of there way to help us.
Review 64:Room was too cold. Room with a view did not have a view. not enough wordrobe space. decor a bit dated
Review 65:very close to the ski lift. Quadruple room was spacuise with a double bed on bottom floor and 2 single beds on the second floor. nice that no one had to sleep in a pullout sofa. breakfest had a great selection. nice gym. free wifi in lobby
Review 66:ski rental and ski depo different level location, little rooms, international kitchen in hotel reustarant, wi-fi only on reception
Review 67:spa, location, parking, staff,
Review 68:The evening buffet was rather boring after a few days, but otherwise ok.
Review 69:Very friendly personell, we arrived with no suitcases as they were stolen from our can on the way, and the staff was very helpfull!
Review 70:The only thing that we did not like was the annoying sitting arrangements at breakfast- they assign seats to some guests, so they stand you up, as you eat, if you sit at somebody's seat (which is not marked well) .
Review 71:1)Great location, just opposite the chairlifts. 2) Well organized for skiing guests with ski storage, selling ski passes at the hotel 3) Very friendly and professional staff, especially at the reception desk. 4) Nice ambiance 5) Great breakfast included.
Review 72:Unfortunately, we received very lately the information that spa area isclosed - just one day before our travel started...
Review 73:Perfect place, nice view form the balcony. Good and big enough room fora family with 2 children. Relatively large variety of food choisesduring breackfast and dinner.
Review 74:The wifi in the lobby was not very strong, so if you are having breakfast in the restaurant in the next room you wouldnt get the signal strong enough.
Review 75:The location was excellent and the staff were very nice as well. I like that you can buy your lift tickets at the reception desk, so you dont have to stay in the queue at the bottom of the resort.
Review 76:Although two connected roams were asked and confirmed during the reservation, during the check-in no roams with this layout were available, causing considerable setbacks since we traveled with a 10 years old daughter.
Review 77:Excellent breakfast/dinner service.
Review 78:The rooms were almost too warm, although not something that you would want to complaina about!
Review 79:Great position to the village and slopes. Excellent breakfast, friendly and helpful staff in a clean and fresh hotel.
Review 80:You have to pay for use of pool, sauna and jacuzzi as this is withinspa, would be nice to have just been able to use pool separately, butwas €35 to use per day. No tea or coffee making facilities in room andno mini bar. Also had to pay for water/ juices with evening meal andwould not supply jugs of water as available I'm mornings.
Review 81:Excellent location for skiing, opposite gondola and chair lift. Veryclean, great staff and very good food. Fresh meat cooked in front ofyou. Reception staff very helpful. Lovely spa with beautiful pool withview of mountains.
Review 82:Ski locker facilities were inadequate and very inconvenient; overcrowded, inadequate space, poorly managed and very user unfriendly. In the end we made other (expensive) arrangements. Spoiled an otherwise very nice stay at this hotel.
Review 83:Location Room size and facilities
Review 84:Rooms are not really big and there is only one elevator that may cause some delay.
Review 85:Sport hotel is extremely well located in Soldeu, facing the ski slopes. Friendly atmosphere - wood and fire places in the loby. Bufet is great, many choices. This hotel is linked to the Hermitage hotel where there is a wonderfull Spa I highly recommend. The fitness center is also really good. Free wireless in the hotel.
Review 86:The description " This luxurious hotel features a spa " ismissleading..., 36 Euro per person per enternace !!!! Yes it is a fancyspa but out of proportion cost with no discount to Sport hotel guests...
Review 87:Very nice hotel, welcoming staff, warm lobby , food is ok, just acrossthe street from the lockers and the gondola complex
Review 88:WIFI: slow & not in rooms TV: old, few channels, no pay-tv Showers floods the bathroom No/small cushions Soft bed
Review 89:Location Service (Spa: Karen) Service (Bar)
Review 90:Can't compliment this hotel enough. Big, comfortable rooms with a nicebathroom. The staff are pleasant and helpful. The buffet is excellent- so much choice and the complimentary cava on Saturday evenings, anice touch. They also make an effort to serve Catalan specialities aspart of the buffet as well as the salad bar and seafood and fishoptions. The bar has compliemtary newspapers and there is a hugelounge area to relax in.
Review 91:The spa was very expensive even though the impression booking.com gavewas that it was inclusive in the price of the hotel. Staff wouldn'tnegotiate in spite of me showing them the advertising stating "guestscan make use of the hotel spa" etc. shame.
Review 92:Good food mostly.
Review 93:A pity that the spa and pool are so expensive and prohibited to youngchildren Lack of ability to regulate room temperature Keep control ofyour young children when crossing the road to the Gondola station. Whenthere is only light traffic, cars can travel faster than they should andchildren dont see them coming, even though there are pedestian crossingsoutside the hotel. (Traffic calming humps would help)
Review 94:As in previous stays this hotel continued to live up to expectations.Good large twin bedded room facing the mountain and the ski slopes ofGrand Valira Room kept immaculately clean. Seems to be no way ofregulating the room temperature but to open the balcony window duringthe day and close it at night. This could still be too warm for somepeople. Buffet style breakfast and Dinner with show cooking also. Goodchoice of all courses. Excellent and quick access to the ski lifts andthe free ski lockers provided just before entering the Gondola station.A very good and welcoming place to stay
Review 95:Bar on the 1st floor next to reception is far too noisy and play live music till 23.00 which is something we didn't like. try to take rooms on the other side.
Review 96:clearly, a surprisingly good hotel for a ski resort. excellent location right next to the lift. we stayed on half-board & could not complain about food - bfst and dinner were awesome. spa in the sister-hotel sport hermitage is worth visiting, but in my view its overpriced (Eur42 per person/visit). Parking was available on the opposite side for Eur10/day. Leonardo at the reception was very helpful & always able to sort our small issues. On a very positive note, they offered to use a room on our lastday after we checked-out to change clothes/take shower after skiing
Review 97:The rooms have no fridge. And the rooms are heated by radiators so ours was a bit chilly. The Spa is 40 euro for 3 hours .... so if you have 3 hours to spend, perhaps that's a good price. But I didn't want to spend 3 hours there so I didn't bother. Not bad compared to all the positives!
Review 98:This large, friendly hotel has everything you need for a perfect weekend skiing or snowboarding. The breakfast is pretty good - nothing fancy, but a good variety. There are couches sprinkled throughout the lobby (and a pool table for 2 euro!) and a very friendly bar staff. The rooms are large and spacious and the bed was very comfy. The rooms are not fancy but ... it's not like you're going to the hotel to stay in your room. The best part is the location - directly across the street from Soldeu's telecabina. Everything you need - rental, store, locker storage - is just across the street. I highly recommend this hotel for a weekend in Soldeu.
Review 99:Room was fine but noise leaked from next door room.
Review 100:Staff were excellent; friendly, courteous and great with the children.Food was excellent too; great selection and all freshly prepared.Location is ideal with just a short walk to the gondola station.
Review 101:Service at the bar was painfully slow. Children should be able to usethe pool for 1 hour a day
Review 102:Excellent location food was very good very relaxed atmosphere nottoo corporate
Review 103:Very good standard for a ski hotel. Location is excellent. Breakfast is very good. Staff were friendly and very helpful. I will return to the hotel again. The location is good with a few bars and live music in the Harp that was good with excellent staff. Eating nearby - don't go cheap the low end is not very good at all. There are decent pizzas though.
Review 104:There are a few disappointing features: 1. Rooms: they're generally scruffy and small and in need of refurbishment, particularly the bathrooms. The (single) beds are quite hard. They are also extremely hot, even with the radiator turned off and the window open. Rooms at the front are noisy as they're on the main road. 2. Swimming pool: not open between November and May. To swim in the spa costs over €40 3. Smoking: no communal non-smoking areas. Guests are also allowed to smoke in the corridor outside non-smoking bedrooms. 4. Star rating: this is not a 4* hotel!!
Review 105:The location, just over the road from the gondola, is fantastic. The breakfast buffet is good, and the staff are generally friendly and helpful. The underground passage from the hotel to the Sport Hermitage spa is useful.
Review 106:Very pleasant and friendly staff, all our prayers and wishes were taken into account. Staff is always smiling and always ready to help you. Good smorgasbord. Perfectly food: very tasty, wide variety of fruits and seafood in winter season. In spite of our late evening arrival for us was arranged very good supper. Excellent pub! Very close proximity to the ski lift. Large, spacious halls and rooms.
Review 107:It was absolutely boiling hot in the room, as soon as I got there Iturned the radiator off but it didn't make a difference. The heat wasunbearable and we had to sleep with the balcony door open with -4 degreeair coming in just to achieve a reasonable temperature in the room! Spatreatments were too expensive.
Review 108:It was a cosy winter hotel, good continental breakfast and just next tothe ski slopes and ski hire shop. Friendly staff too.
Review 109:The big disappointment was the restaurant. It was a buffet- so there wasa constant stream of people obtaining food from the buffet area. Alsothe staff were constantly collecting used plates etc and deliveringfresh food.(like a canteen) Also, the food quality was poor- frankly,I've had better on a cross channel ferry. It was marginally better thana fast food restaurant. I think the head chef had a budget and so thequality and choice was very restricted. Not what I would expect from afour star ? hotel.
Review 110:The staff were very friendly and professional. The bar and receptionarea was comfortable and bar entertainment excellent. The rooms (we hadan old room - not updated), but was very clean.
Review 111:nothing to dislike
Review 112:Everything, good food, excellent location, friendly staff
Review 113:the breakfast was cold
Review 114:most of the hotel was great
Review 115:Great location close to all facilities, friendly staff, great breakfasts, lovely room with a super view.
Review 116:Cost of Car Parking. A Hotel of this nature should provide free parking on-site.
Review 117:Excellent location and very good breakfast
Review 118:No wifi in the rooms, And no vegetables in breakfast
Review 119:Breakfast
Review 120:room was cold
Review 121:location- accross the street from the ski lift. breakfest. quadropal room was spacious.
Review 122:nothing
Review 123:position of hotel near centre of town and close to bubble and chair lift. Food very good and staff very helpful, nice ambiance .
Review 124:Hotel a bit tired rooms need refurbing
Review 125:Great location, staff helpful, food a reasonable standard
Review 126:having to pay 35 euro to use pool no pass for guests.
Review 127:it was very comfortable and clean. staff very nice. room spacious
Review 128:Rooms are a little old-fashioned
Review 129:Great location. Very friendly staff. Good breakfast.
