Reviews for Estrel Berlin

Review 1:One night you Bay 18£ for barking these is stupid you can't do these and the WIFI you need to bay . And you to restaurantyou set Half an hour no one he give you the The menu an

Review 2:Only the good thing is the party

Review 3:Stayed while attending a conferencein the conference centre housed within the building . Facilities were good. There is a shop within the building also that sells toiletries souvenirs and the like. Very handy.

Review 4:No extras in my room. But I asked for coffee and tea making facilities and an iron(ing board also) and they were delivered with a little surprise that I expected them.

Review 5:Handy to my conference. Clean.

Review 6:The internet connection was awful. We use this hotel for business, good internet connection is crucial feature for me.

Review 7:The lobby, bar and restaurant area was great.

Review 8:I was not impressed about breakfast variety , expected to find boiling pot with tea and coffee bags

Review 9:Room is spacious and the lobby , also the security system

Review 10:hotel lacks of personality, everything is ok just not wow. fitted the purpose 100%

Review 11:very good staff - friendly and helpful. duty manager on reception very good.

Review 12:...not very friendly surroundings....there is no possibility to use stairs at our part of hotel - stairway was closed (only cleaning lady has keys..)...and it is necessary to wait for a lift really long time... ... "Italian" restaurant serves not very tasty pizza (on my opinion....)

Review 13:Nice big room, comfortable bed, well furnished, prefect view- if you stay from front side on higher floors- unfortunately there is not possible to fully open the window, breakfast - good choices available....

Review 14:The pillows were not good. When I asked for a more firm pillow it was not provided to me.

Review 15:Rooms were very nice and clean and the extra facilities like the sauna and fitness area.

Review 16:Complimentary Internet is as slow as a turtle. Breakfast wasn't included in the room deal so I paid for it, I think it is not worth the price. But then, the hotel is so far from anything else, that you are kidnapped to use their facilities.

Review 17:It is easy to reach with public transport. Convenient if coupled with an event at the Hotel's Conference Centre. Friendly welcome at Reception. Breakfast had an acceptable option of fruits and non-processed foods & OK coffee. The room 10th floor was comfortable, what one needs for such a business trip. Bathroom is also a plus: clean, comfortable, well equipped.

Review 18:Extremely hot everywhere, bad air. Internet service poor, high speed internet overpriced and unreliable. In house restaurants very mediocre and overpriced

Review 19:Nice rooms

Review 20:No coffee and tea facilities in the rooms.

Review 21:Very nice vibe/cozy feeling in the atrium of the hotel. In the evening there is live music and lots of people eating in the restaurants.

Review 22:Poor location , miles from city centre. Poorly equiped bathroom with no toiletries apart from liquid soap/shampoo dispensers and cheap thin towels. On bed ridiculously soft and thin pillows which offered no support. Even replacement ones requested were too soft.No extra pillows in wardrobe which is commonplace in major hotel chains Good selection at breakfast but bacon was awful and tasteless

Review 23:Choice of places to eat within hotel. My congress was in same hotel so that was convenient

Review 24:sometimes the wifi signal in the room was weak and was disconnected during the session. a bit far from the city center.

Review 25:clean room, big room, good breakfast

Review 26:The waiters at the restaurants failed to note my order correctly, twice. Also, everything was quite expensive.

Review 27:It was great to have a hotel room directly at the convention center. Everything was clean and classy.

Review 28:The location was in not a very pleasant area and too far from the city centre.

Review 29:The hotel was convenient as we were attending a conference which was held there.

Review 30:A/C was not working, had free sauna in room, after few talks with receptionist (took few hours) they have finally changed the room.

Review 31:very clean, train station was 200m from hotel,

Review 32:We stayed in Berlin during a wave of very hot days, but the air conditioning was never enough, especially in the business center that we needed to use for several hours.

Review 33:The hotel design with many open areas, with several places where you can eat and have drinks. The design balances the fact that you are far from downtown Berlin

Review 34:Overall crowdness in the hotel Nonfunctional air conditioning in the rooms and lobby Too many but not attractive restaurants within the hotel

Review 35:Rooms-large and clean

Review 36:Stayed here for 3 nights for a conference which was in the exhibition centre connected to the hotl. Very convenient. We ate at the Italian restaurant in the central plaza of the hotel 1 night which was very good and reasonably priced. We went out to explore Berlin the other evenings using public transport which was easy to workout, clean and efficient. We would definitely stay here again.

Review 37:The Hotel is a Little bit "off" when it comes to transportation from airport Tegel, even with taxi in the Berlin traffic jam. The air condition in my room did not work very well.

Review 38:The overall impression of the facility.

Review 39:The room was not needed during the first 3 days of my stay and started to be needed the last 2 days. There was no safe in the room, although it might have not been needed since it was in Germany. I had to login for the internet every time I wanted to go online

Review 40:Clean, comfortable, close to the train station, great buffet during the conference, helpful staff

Review 41:Reservation dept. quite unflexible when it comes to booking changes. Reception crew only partial friendly.

Review 42:Great and comfortable room. Very good furniture, clean and good beds.

Review 43:Service here is pretty exceptional, staff friendly and there are many eating and drinking options. you wouldn't expect restaurants in a centre like this to be cheap and they aren't — but the quality of food is very good, fresh and well prepared. The centre looks rather badly located on the map but in reality the Berlin transport system is so efficient and easy to use that this is not really a problem. For some reason the hotel lists the nearest underground station as Neukoln which is a 20 minute walk. However, the local S Bhann station is opposite the hotel. A day travel pass will cover all forms of transport and is great value for money. I was here for a convention and probably wouldn't have thought about staying here other than that. However, Sunday morning showed that it is pretty popular with Germans visiting Berlin. It is convention hotel but one the best that I have stayed in. Did I mention the customer service was good?

Review 44:The hotel is located in an area that does not offer much within walking distance. When asking the concierge what could be suggested, he could only offer a couple tours. When we asked for other ideas, there were none. We did go on the tour he suggested, but then the directions were incorrect and we almost missed our tour bus because we couldn't find it and it was not the color he said it was. On our last morning we decided to go for a walk and found a lovely trail very close to the hotel. That would have been nice to know earlier in the week, as we had been walking in the other direction and did not feel safe. With a hotel so far removed from many of Berlin's activities and areas of interest it is imperative that the concierge has many suggestions for the hotel guests.

Review 45:I thought the hotel was good. The breakfast was great and well organized to get everyone fed in an organized and efficient manner. The food was excellent. The room was comfortable and the meeting venue was also very good.

Review 46:Gym could hardly be described as a fitness center. Wifi was terrible. Very overpriced. Bed linen was less that satisfying and what you would expect to find in a cheap Hostel

Review 47:Room was spacious but not very useful due to poor use and placement of furniture because of the angled ceiling.

Review 48:No wifi in the rooms, so no Internet in the room for tablet pc's Wifi login and connection not possible in lobby (annoying if you need internet for bookings or emails and you travel with a tablet pc) Internet access is an absolute necessity these days and has to be reliable. Shower in Bath tub with limited head space Shower head not high enough for 180cm guys (average these days) Toilet seat not in order (pin missing so it fell off) Location quite remote from city center

Review 49:Combination of hotel and conference center Nice lobby with ample seating and several coffee and bar options Very nice staff Always taxi available

Review 50:We were unaware of a large "alternative" slightly overpowering group /convention booked at the same time as us. It would have been courteous to let us know when booking in order to make an informed decision on hotel choice.

Review 51:The area surrounding the hotel isn't really the prettiest part of town. No direct train from the airport. No matter what line you take, you have to ride another train for one single stop. Pity, it was /this/ close to being perfectly located for maximum convenience!

Review 52:We're a pretty colorful bunch as far as conventions go, but the hotel staff, after the usual initial reactions of bafflement that we've come to expect when we join a new venue, took us in stride and went /way/ out of their way to express their happiness at having us as guests. Definitely appreciated!

Review 53:I walked down to Hermannsplatz for a good coffee-shop and also around the block looking for a nice walk in the open... difficult. Maybe your staff could suggest something even if it is further away...

Review 54:I liked the set-up inside with the restaurants and coffee-shop.

Review 55:the breakfast is too expensive.

Review 56:the location is quiet, nice place to stay for holiday and business

Review 57:The convention center was INSIDE the hotel which was very convenient

Review 58:Bad location, tatty old fashioned decor, and no coffee or ironing facilities in the room

Review 59:It was clean, well organised and the staff were good

Review 60:It was expensive.

Review 61:It was new, finished to a good standard.

Review 62:Rooms were too hot and airco did not work, when opening the window a lot of noise from the factory below

Review 63:The Atrium is a nice place to meet

Review 64:The bathroom smell was so bad

Review 65:Free Wifi

Review 66:unreliable internet connection

Review 67:Good conventions facilities, efficient service,

Review 68:It felt clear tension among employees

Review 69:The location was my event at the hotel :-)

Review 70:unpolite staff. Felt they were trying to swindel me

Review 71:cleanness

Review 72:WiFi does not work in the room. Kingsize bed is actually two narrow ones put together. And two narrow blankets.

Review 73:It is very near to where our daughter is living, and also suited us as we wanted a room with a bath as well as a shower.

Review 74:staff is very poor.

Review 75:Staff. Very bad customer service atbfront desk and management. They over charged me and they were rude ahout it

Review 76:No swimming pool.

Review 77:Temperature and lightness of the atrium. Friendliness of staff. Big open spaces.

Review 78:Thai Diner was niet echt Thai, tegenvaller

Review 79:Comfort kamer uitstekend

Review 80:Far from city centre

Review 81:Cosy..place

Review 82:there are no slippers or coffee maker or free water

Review 83:Most things were good

Review 84:Breakfast very expensive

Review 85:Get access to downtown Berlin via public transport

Review 86:Nothing

Review 87:Anything

Review 88:Broken wash-bowl, no safe in the room

Review 89:Perfect facilities for business event

Review 90:Room was too warm and dark.

Review 91:Design and amount of space and the weird closet within the closet.

Review 92:Easy access to train station. Excellent breakfast. Nice facilities.

Review 93:Everything

Review 94:Que for check in

Review 95:Had every thing in one place

Review 96:Quality of food in one of the restaurant

Review 97:Cleanness, friendly personnel, variety of restaurant and coffee shop area

Review 98:the room the staff location to train station

Review 99:area around location, terribly slow hotspot internet

Review 100:friendly and helpful staff

Review 101:Nothing, it was all good

Review 102:Great view of Berlin from the room I got Comfortable, clean and quiet rooms Not too close from the city centre, but there is an S-bahn station at walking distance

Review 103:Not much choice for vegetarian food, especially at odd hours, and food prices very high. The business centre and telephones were expensive so that every time one picked up the phone to even make a call on a phone card, one was charged a lot more than normal for a phone call. The windows needed cleaning.

Review 104:Your concierge system was very helpful. I liked the clean rooms and the spacious view from my window. It was easy to get to the train/underground and canal boat. I liked the evening meals/bar outside by the canal as well and you had a vegetarian option there that was very good. Everything was very nice in a modern sort of way and your staff very helpful but simply a bit pricey.

Review 105:Spa appeared closed on Saturday day time when i went along on spec. No one there and entrance doors appeared locked. Noisy banging music until early hours on Friday and Saturday night which would have prevented me from sleeping had i not taken along my ear plugs ! The slight smell of foul drainage in the bathroom and the sink which had a very slow drain , so must have been a problem with waste which needed to be sorted before guests are booked into a room. Noisy air conditioning system need ear plugs to block out the noise in order to sleep. The poh faced manner of the female member of staff who checked me out, rather unfriendly, abrupt and harsh looking not the best reception manner i have come across in my travels i must say .

Review 106:Very Clean bedroom and bedding. Could shut out the day light to rest in the afternoon if necessary.Good day time sound exculsion from double glazed windows which made the room peaceful.Bath and shower good. Air conditioning to cool the room was a comfort as very hot weather 32 degrees ! Polite and cheery houskeeping staff members. Friendly, polite and caring staff service in Thai Restaurant. Friendly staff member upon check in. Relaxed and informal atmosphere within hotel main area of restaurants/shop. Social orientation of hotel facilities. Fridge well stocked in cupboard and not noisy.

Review 107:The main downside was the lack of blackout curtains in the room. Difficult to sleep late in June.

Review 108:It's all good in general. There are restaurants on the ground floor. Air conditioning works well. Staff were generally helpful.

Review 109:There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms.

Review 110:Lots of social spaces and eating opportunities...also some stunning views..and a very attractive Beer Garden across the street.

Review 111:staff not friendly and services poor location bad AC not working bed very bad internet very slow no coffee no tea no water in the room every thing not free no iron in the room and no safety box in the room very expensive i will never stay in this hotel any more.

Review 112:nothing

Review 113:Nothing.

Review 114:I attended a conference at the Estrel so spent a lot of time there rather than out sightseeing. It is an excellent 'self-contained' venue but also has good transport links to both the city centre and Schoenefeld airport, so is therefore still a good option for someone who is in Berlin as a tourist but wants a high quality hotel at a very reasonable price.

Review 115:Far from the centre of Berlin. No breakfast included. No toiletries in the bathrooms. The rooms were a bit hot so I did not sleep very well. Some of the concierge desk staff not very helpful.

Review 116:Convenient for my meeting. Clean room and bathroom with good shower. Gym facilities ok. Nice coffee shop in the central area.

Review 117:hotel was quite busy and the lifts couldn't keep up which was a pain because we were on the 12th floor!

Review 118:simple, effectively designed and clean rooms. friendliness of staff good breakfast choice

Review 119:Expensive everything. In "no mans land" between old east and west, no restaurants nearby and a long S-bahn ride to the city.

Review 120:In the same building as the congress center.

Review 121:Congress was poorly organised by conress site, (iccn 2014) Food was awfull in coctail evening and in "stars in concert" evening. Some of the auditoriums ( or rooms)were small and had poor visibility.

Review 122:Hotell was ok

Review 123:The center is in a dreary location, near nothing of interest.

Review 124:The convention center and rooms were nice and conveniently located in proximity to each other.

Review 125:Area seemed a little isolated from 'Berlin' in terms of sightseeing, and other tourist activities. Berlin tourist map did not seem to feature the location of the hotel. Some display about getting into central Berlin would have been helpful. It would be helpful if some information about service charges/staff gratuities was given on the restaurant bills. My colleague was not given change (about 10% of the bill) but there was no explanation for this. At other times, paying the exact amount on the bill was accepted.

Review 126:Staff attitudes and general helpfulness at all levels were very good. Conference and Restaurant areas were good. Transport links to Tegel were reasonable (Local train strike notwithstanding)

Review 127:I was insulted for wearing bikini at the sauna room. I was asked aggressively to remove my bikini whilst using the sauna room. I refused to do that, so they've asked me to leave the room. I do not know how to describe my experience, all I know that I was skaken and didn't understand how to respond to the situation.

Review 128:Average hotel with okay breakfast

Review 129:The old and small TV in the room (no flat tv), no csafe in the room, no WC amenities, no usb charger in the room, Sure not a hotel for 160 euros night!

Review 130:Clean room.

Review 131:-Poor service -Gave us the wrong room, took 2 hours to check in. -Room smelled of cigarettes. -Took 1 hour to deliver towels. And this I paid 400 euros for 3 days for a 70/night place. wow.

Review 132:The design is extremely 90s and the size is just too much, but that makes it a landmark in it's own right..

Review 133:It's close to my granddaughter, the staff was so friendly and the room was of very good quality. Beautiful view of the entire city! Very talented live musicians in the lobby area the evening who never get the acknowledgement they deserve
