Reviews for PK Parkhotel Kurhaus
Review 1:Room service 26 Dec did not work although advertised: "kitchen does not want to do it", no reservation for Christmas Eve dinner for a hotel guest (one person; I doubt it was full) - very vague information from reception about anything. Room was very modest and small, minibar not connected hence warm drinks available??? bathroom could be refreshed
Review 2:the history of Kurhaus, beuatiful interior, bar and Mr Daniel's professional and kind service attitude, Crucenia terme
Review 3:The room picture sent with confirmation mail is not same as what we get. The room we got is poor than what we saw online.
Review 4:Theremal bad Breakfast Dinner, expensive but tasty.
Review 5:It's rather old not too cute. we ordered luxe, in reality it was too rooms, fancy but old at the same time, no nice view. The toilette was broken, i mean, we couldn't use water in toilette, its more that uncomfortable. And also it was not too clean unfortunately. The breakfast is simple, not too interesting, nothing special. Its expensive for that money.
Review 6:the accomodation urgently needs a refurbishment in general, and a much more cosy decoration of the Restaurant and bar
Review 7:a very nice located big superior room and the very friendly service in the restaurant
Review 8:For the cleanliness i,ll rate the hotel with 5/10 , had oldfurniture odor, the bath was too old just half toilette roll left woutbathing soap in the shower; it needs renovation
Review 9:The Workers well really very kind, nice site for the hotel
Review 10:The hotel is dated and has an old appearance with worn carpet and chairs. Windows were dusty and with spider webs. Unfortunately the spa was closed for repairs when we were there.
Review 11:The hotel is located next to a nice park and within walking distance of shopping.
Review 12:quite dirty rooms
Review 13:the hotel is in a very beautiful building, but very old and with a poor renovation. good service of the stuff. swimming pool area is very nice along the river
Review 14:Very outdated rooms, dirty carpet. Everything is worn out, peeling paint in the bathroom. It looks like no maintenance has been done since many years. Sauna area is dreadful, broken taps, dirty floor.
Review 15:To stay only for one night and never retun back to this place.
Review 16:Other reviewers have criticized the outdated decor, paint and carpet in need of renewal and other minor defects. These don't detract from the good things. Enjoy what is being offered: great location, great food and free access to the thermal baths. After all, that's the reason you are considering visiting Bad Kreuznach, isn't it?
Review 17:On checking in we were offered an upgrade package that included a larger room with fabulous views across parkland and the river, subsidized parking, complimentary mini bar usage etc etc. Free access to the spa facilities via a private passage. Great lunchtime menu at Euro 10.90 . We loved it.
Review 18:BOOOKING.COM LISTS PRIVATE PARKING WHICH IS NOT THE CASE!! the dining room was oppressively hot and the smells from the kitchen were too evident particularly at breakfast.
Review 19:in a wonderful quiet spot. The building has a lot of history including having been the headquarters of Ludendorff in WWI and seen visits of Ataturk, de Gaulle and Adenauer etc. etc. Staff were exceedingly helpful.
Review 20:Dated, not recently remodeled. (We were in top floor, no direct elevator, older rooms. Stairwell from 3rd Floor to 4th Grungy.
Review 21:Enjoyed access to pool. Very convenient, right with the Kurhauses on River Scenic spot to park outside. Nice, helpful staff Great Breakfast Buffet; Super breads
Review 22:The room decoration was somewhat outdated, although the rooms were kept very clean.
Review 23:The location, excellent breakfast with wide selections, good customer service and the spa. We also like strolling along the river behind the hotel, and taking a leisurely walk in the garden and the park next to the hotel.
Review 24:Hotel bedrooms are now a little dated and in need of some upgrade. Breakfast choice was limited and of a less than expected standard.
Review 25:Location and Spa facilities are excellent Hotel set in relaxing environment Room charges are very competitive
Review 26:The hotelrooms are very old fashioned decorated.
Review 27:The environment is beautiful and the thermal is also good. Breakfast is good too. The room was very clean and the bathroom good and also clean. It's nice to have a bathrobe and walk to the spa.
Review 28:Breakfast is not as good as it used to be. Restaurant is understaffed and they no longer serve that delicious German coffee. Found this problem throughout Germany...not sure why they changed the way coffee is made.
Review 29:Great location, friendly staff, large rooms. I have been at this hotel 6 times and this time came with my family and my brother's family. Will be back again in two years.
Review 30:The room was on the top floor with no elevator. The breakfast area was so full you had to wait for a table, etc
Review 31:The hotel had a Connection to the Thermal baths.
Review 32:The food was ok but it seemed like the hotel tried to hard on the dinner. The food was a little too salty but the breakfeast buffet was amazing and worth the stay!
Review 33:the hotel was beautiful and comfortable. The staff was very nice and helpful. Would be amazing during the summer time.
Review 34:I've read some of the reviews of this hotel and I'm surprised it didn't get at least a rating of 9 or more! (Some people are spoiled I guess..) It's old world elegance and charm at a modest price. Spacious, clean rooms, great restaurant, thermal bath, swimming pool, sauna, nice mountain walks nearby, breakast included.. all at a modest price.. What's not to like??! Great!
Review 35:The fittings are rather worn and the bath fixtures are not very efficient. Perhaps that explains the very reasonable price.
Review 36:Beautiful situation in a park, very close to the town centre. A very interesting area. Staff friendly and helpful.
Review 37:The hotel is clearly a classic, old hotel but the rooms have a pale, eighties interior which is neither classy or new. The wifi signal is very weak in all areas and the internet connection is extremely slow most of the time.
Review 38:Classy hotel with a direct connection to the thermal baths. Plenty of parking space across the street and breakfast is excellent.
Review 39:Very large hotel with 150m to walk to the room. Bar/Restaurant was not open Sunday evening so I could not buy something to drink nor eat.
Review 40:Staff is nice and the ability to use their welness spa
Review 41:The receptionists are nice enough...but kind of stuck up! I'm not a fan of the gold glitter that has been mixed in the paint on the woodwork. The free computer keyboard needs thrown away, it's junk!
Review 42:The Breakfast was the best I have ever seen! The Hotel itself is a piece of history that has been well taken care of. Beautiful marble stairs and floors on the main floor.
Review 43:- When we arrived, quite a long wait at the reception desk. - Sauna in the hotel pretty small, dark and limited (though great big complex across the road, at a very reasonable price). - As other reviewers have said, if you're expecting a 4-star grand hotel, then it's a little faded, but we had no problem with this, in some ways quite liked it, and preferred it to a smaller modern hotel, and the price reflects this. It was a very good deal for us.
Review 44:- Big hotel with grandeur, but not a big price tag, perhaps because it's not what it was in its heyday, but still impressive from the outside. - Sauna bath a stone's throw away across the road, as well as the salt baths included in the price. - Park next to hotel, quietness, but a very short walk to the centre of town. - Excellent breakfast with very good staff. - Big room. - Some good (by local standards - this isn't Provence or Piedmont) restaurants nearby. - Nice, quiet and relaxing.
Review 45:Beds were uncomfortable and if you get a room on the inside courtyard it can be noisy due to staff talking and carts being wheeled around.
Review 46:Location was great Staff was friendly Great breakfast and service
Review 47:Food - dinner was extremely poor, breakfast was acceptable How this hotel is advertised on the internet and Bookings.com is not showing the true picture. The decor is very dated, the beds extremely uncomfortable, overall the place had the feeling of a sanitorium rather than a Kurhaus. I will not be visiting again.
Review 48:No complaints
Review 49:Beautiful hotel with a very friendly and helpful staff. Could walk to the pickup for a great excursion to beautiful Mainau Island. This was a very relaxing stay and a lovely little town. Also had free parking which was nice.
Review 50:No complaints.
Review 51:This is a beautiful and very large hotel with a wonderful staff. You will appreciate the parking being across the street with plenty of spaces and reduced pricing for guests. The breakfast buffet was outstanding and the location is less than 5 minutes walking distance to the city center, shops, restaurants and tourist information center. There is a great wine store adjacent to the hotel which was wonderful. Bad Kreuznach has a lot to offer in this wine region area of Germany and I wish tourist books had more written on all that is available. We also enjoyed the history of the bridge houses....and the history of the salt walls/baths/spas etc. The hotel exterior is beautiful and our view from our terrace as beautiful as well. While the interior reflects the last remodel date of 1996 it also adds to the ambience of a German hotel versus the chains that all look the same. Again, the staff was amazing, very helpful.
Review 52:A bit tired - faded splendour - but then if it were 5 star I wouldn't have been able to afford to stay here.
Review 53:Wonderful building steeped in history meeting place between Presidents Adenaur and De Gaulle) Good facilities (if you want to use them). Splendid grounds by riverside and spa. Good breakfast
Review 54:The way that the new owners take care of the property = poorly!! The carpets in the rooms & corridors have plenty of stains!!! the water in toilet was running day & night the whole week we were there.
Review 55:The landscape, the location was fabulous for us, old people!!! but in good shape. The service of maintenance in the rooms very good. The breakfast wasn't as great as in other 4 star hotels we have been.
Review 56:- Hotel has seen obviously "better times" at Kaiser Wilhelm's time. Everything is so historic, inclusive the stains and dirt at door frames, mirrors and bathrooms. - We are not depending on complimentary water, but a minibar is to be expected in a hotel of this grading. - At a hotel with international guests I would expect that I have a porter who takes care of my luggage so that I have not to carry it myself to the room. As a final personal thought, I would like to suggest that your hotel surrenders one star or two, to mach up with the service and facilities provided.
Review 57:Some of the furniture in the bathroom shows the sign of wearing off.
Review 58:By the riverside, away from all city traffic. Good breakfast. Inhouse thermal bath. Live music-afternoons with dance in front of the hotel.
Review 59:The thermal pool was supposed to be connected but wasn't and entrance included in price but wasn't.
Review 60:Very comfortable room with excellent bathroom
Review 61:Hotel was not 4 stars. It was rundown. Spa facilities below standard for what was advertised. Beds were uncomfortable. First room was on the firth floor accessible only up a narrow dimly lit staircase. At this point we asked for a refund for the prepaid room and iour request was denied. To upgrade to a livable room, we had to pay 15 euros more. The room was not up to German standard of cleanliness.
Review 62:The park with the salinen was interesting. We found a good restaurant in another hotel in the park
Review 63:Mold and mildew in the bathtub. Paid for an outside room but was given an inside room; staff corrected the problem.
Review 64:Live music in the park below the balcony with people dancing.
Review 65:The only real issue was the internet service. Different passwords for every floor and sparse coverage in the corner rooms, but we survived.
Review 66:I lived in BK 30 years ago as a young airman. I have talked a lot of how beautiful and wonderful the area was. I took a group of 8 to the PK and they loved the hotel and fell in love with the city. The city has changed in 30 years, but it still holds the flavor I remember. The PK is a fine hotel and pleasant helpful staff. Rooms were good and large. Breakfast was absolutely wonderful. We have two free days on this vacation and we just might go back again.

Review 90:The hotel staff was polite and helpful.
Review 91:Everything was great although I will never get used to the "split beds" This was my second stay and plan on going back next year.
Review 92:The Bar was not open due to holidays. It should be manned at all times like other Hotels do.
Review 93:A great Hotel in a perfect location
Review 94:The rooms should have air conditioning.
Review 95:All the staff was so friendly and helpful. Good English speaking receptionists. Great breakfast.
Review 96:Extremely hot weather and no fan or air conditioning
Review 97:Health and well being facilities, close to city centre and amenities
Review 98:The decor is a little odd on the room floors
Review 99:Good location
Review 100:Beautiful outfit and surroundings of the hotel.
Review 101:It is in need of updating fabrics, carpets and bathrooms.
Review 102:It is a grand old hotel in a fabulous location. Friendly staff and very pleasant breakfast.
Review 103:Nothing.
Review 104:It's Location. Very well maintained hotel.
Review 105:Room is old fashioned and smells dusty. Needs to be renewed, especially carpet floor removed.
Review 106:Location and acces¨s to Crucenia Thermal
Review 107:Combination of good quality lodging and spa

Review 114:none
Review 115:Comfortable & value for money
Review 116:Late Check in Early Check Out
Review 117:Service Buffet Breakfast Spa Facilities Cleanliness
Review 118:Everything
Review 119:Sauna too small and separate from swimming pools
Review 120:Position, free of charge entree to swimming pool with therm bath + sauna
Review 121:Excellent spa facilities, Dining expensive, Local pizzarias nearby but not imaginative. Hotel, ca 1/2 mile walk has excellent burgerlisch menus.
Review 122:Beds a bit on the hard side
Review 123:Location, grounds and thermal baths
Review 124:very nice swimming pool
Review 125:It was a very nice surprise for us to see the memory plate of Ataturk, the founder of the Turkish Republic, just by the front desk.
Review 126:Room was not clean
Review 127:Felt large and impersonal after staying in some smaller family run hotels, bar was never open. This is a good hotel which just did not appeal to us so much.
Review 128:Great location next to spa house and public spa features. Lovely pool area over-looking the river and pretty gardens around hotel. Food good
Review 129:Facilities are too old and renovation is definately needed. On my visiting, Elevator to thermal bath was out of order and we need to took a detour through outside with bath gown.
Review 130:It was good to use free termal bath
Review 131:omg...update the hotel! It is straight out of the 1960s heyday. I am sure there are better more with the times hotels in town. Also the website is deceiving in that the hotel does not have its own pool. Its just attached to the public thermal salt water pools next door with free entry. But it is a public pool, and thus crowded and dirty.
Review 132:nice view of river. easy access to the therme baths that we discovered by accident and realized they are holistic salt water pools.
Review 133:The hotel overall is in need of an update.
Review 134:The location is excellent for walking to everything of interest. We always enjoy the nice variety at breakfast. Pleasant lobby area.
Review 135:The first room was really run-down. The hotel mamagement should see not to rent out un-renovated rooms with un-fresh furniture. The heating was not functioning thoough we've been there in December! We got a better room without problems, nice and warm!
Review 136:Nice loctation with direct access to the therme
