Reviews for Columbia Beach Resort
Review 1:If you look closely this beautiful property needs a real deep clean; from the rust stained toilets to the clogged sink to the absolutely filthy mat in front of the suite's door etc.etc.
Review 2:Amazing property, stunning views; great staff; excellent food.
Review 3:Not a lot to do in evenings, no entertainment, only a few shops and bars in walking distance. Prices for drinks expensive double the price of bars outside hotel.
Review 4:Rooms excellent, staff excellent, excellent beach, very comfortable slippers dressing gown and toiletries, cleanliness in pool and public areas very good.
Review 5:I didn't consider the breakfast to be competitive with other 4-5 star hotels. The coffee (very bad), bread, choice of cheese, cold cuts just average.
Review 6:layout of hotel facilities, buildings, pools
Review 7:Great staff, very friendly and helpful. Cycle Hire facility attached to the hotel, Bike Cyprus, really good for guided rides and tours, also good quality bikes. Food was very good in the Apollo restaurant and outstanding in the Bacchus. We enjoyed the holiday on every count. Very relaxing.
Review 8:The friendliness and efficiency of the staff especially at a busy breakfast time. A delicious cake was produced from my wife's 60th birthday - a lovely surprise.
Review 9:Half board was only allowed in one of their two restaurants and there were exceptions. This was not clear when I booked. The food quality was ok but not as good a most places in Cyprus. The prices they were charging were highly inflated. The Spa was ok but in need of some minor repairs and cleaning.
Review 10:Staff were friendly and helpful. Locations is great.
Review 11:Service in the restaurants was at times a little slow - to the extent that you'd wonder if you had been forgotten - and then unapologetic. This wasn't great for such an otherwise fabulous hotel.
Review 12:The pool and the site layout are beautiful. The rooms are large and luxurious.
Review 13:We had a fridge which didn't work which we mentioned to the hotel staff during our stay which was never rectified. Not too much of a problem as we only wanted to have our bottled water cold, but could be an issue if not sorted out. It was a bit of effort to get to the hotel on a very windy, hilly and long road but worth it!
Review 14:The setting was superb and the surroundings stunning. Great choice of breakfast and the service was great.
Review 15:Nothing
Review 16:Located on a scenic beach, away from the small town of Pissouri Bay, but close enough to be able to walk and enjoy some of the other local eating places. Fantastic swimming pool and all the facilities you could wish for. Good eating options and excellent breakfast.
Review 17:Our room was opposite tennis court of sister hotel with main generator below which was noisy, irritatingly. Service at taverna poor at times. Beach not very nice, wouldn't choose to sit there.
Review 18:The hotel is well laid out, the pool area and garden very attractive. The Bacchus restaurant is great, although expensive, worth it, the staff there are great. Rooms very comfortable and spacious (pool view suite)
Review 19:This is a super get-away-from-it-all hotel resort and location. Very relaxing and intimate. If you want something a bit special in Cyprus then this is the place. Nothing too much trouble.
Review 20:The fact that it was only for a short stay (we didn´t even have the chance to try the spa facilities). We found the restaurants a bit expensive but top quality.
Review 21:Everything! The hotel´s architecture, the luxurious room, the extra effort for hospitality, the huge pool, the rich breakfast.
Review 22:The surf boards were beyond repair yet on display and advertised as offering water sports. It would be nice to offer afternoon tea. The 'indoor' pool was freezing as it opens to the outdoor pool.
Review 23:The spa and location.
Review 24:Parking spaces were at a premium on the days we stayed as there was an event taking place, though the staff did their utmost to help us. Only downside of our stay.
Review 25:Everything was beyond our expectations. The suites were very well furnished and stocked with all sorts of freebies, but most importantly they were very clean.
Review 26:If you are allergic to cats, or have no fondness for them, sit inside and not around the pool during breakfast. The hotel is very cat friendly...
Review 27:Columbia Beach Resort is a wonderfull hotel, with fantastic views in a quiet secluded bay right on the beach behind Pissouri Village. It never fails to deliver on being a top class hotel - cleanliness, service, breakfast with an extensive tea selection, the pool... We will definately be going back.
Review 28:There is nothing else around this location. Pissouri Bay itself has nothing much going on. We didn't mind this at all but some might.
Review 29:We had the most beautiful room with a double balcony andna fantastic sea view. The weather in December was a mixture of sun and cloud but always beautiful skies and good views.
Review 30:Rather difficult to find first time (and the hotels travel directions for drivers need to be far better). The surrounding village is minute and has little to offer. Perhaps better for a long-weekend than a longer stay.
Review 31:Hotel building is excellent, modern and well maintained. Rooms are spacious and very well equipped. Restaurants are good although the choices are limited and the prices a bit high. Pool is the biggest we have seen anywhere and very well designed. Only 20 mins from airport.
Review 32:A very minor gripe about the gym which had older style equipment and was always too warm. As this is not a major part of the holiday it did not spoil everything else which is great at this resort.
Review 33:Whole ambience of the resort was excatly what we like. The staff were excellent, being attentive but never in your face. The location is very quiet and also has a few nice restaurants within walking distance.
Review 34:Wi-Fi quality in the rooms is poor The food at breakfast during weekends looks a little less fresh, but still OK
Review 35:Almost everything is just perfect - rooms, staff, facilities. Some minor things don't spoil the whole stay, but I hope hotel management can fix it to be an even better place. :)
Review 36:In the suite 2 things are missing: a large mirror and an iron.
Review 37:Warm welcome, the room (suite 2023) has a magnificent view to the Pissouri bay. While making the booking with Booking.com – I have mentioned that we are coming to celebrate my birthday. A very nice cake + bottle of wine was waiting for us in the room. All hotel facilities are clean and look new. Restaurants are superb - the Italian, the International and the beach caffe. Breakfast – is very rich and well served. We'll definitely visit the place again next spring.
Review 38:Nothing. Loved it all.
Review 39:Loved everything about the hotel. The staff were helpful, the grounds immaculate and the pool was outstanding. Our room couldn't have been more comfortable. This is definitely a hotel I would come back to.
Review 40:I found the staff on the front desk to be nonchalant and borderline rude. We booked this trip for our wedding anniversary and they allocated us a twin room; saying this was our fault for not explicitly saying we wanted a King room (NOTE: nowhere on the booking was there an opportunity for this to be specified). Perhaps a little common sense should have prevailed and our check-in experience would have been less of an uphill struggle after a 3 hour flight and a 2 hour drive from Larnaca. They didn't exactly go beyond the call of duty for their guests, which is a bit scandalous given the premium you pay to stay at a resort of this calibre.
Review 41:The resort itself is set between the sleepy towns of Pissouri Bay & Pissouri Village. Both are quaint with lots of character - a welcome respite from the more overcrowded towns and resorts which you see in Cyprus. The setting is spectacular, as are the hotel grounds. They also run a local cat neutering program (some kind of CSR initiative) and so there are quite a few lovely cats that live on the resort and mingle with the guests. A hire car is must for those wishing to explore as Pissouri is located 30km east of Paphos and 30km West of Limassol.
Review 42:Rather expensive. Small problems with electricity switches (especially for air-conditioning).
Review 43:The suite was very comfortable and good looking. The beach had plenty of nice beds and umbrellas. You can rent almost any water device you want - like jet-ski, catamaran and especially a various sizes of windsurfing boards. When you go there ask for Elyas - he is absolutely fantastic in helping you.
Review 44:Spectacular view
Review 45:a bit (too) secluded and far away from some "life" - 32 km to closest town
Review 46:Great place for a romantic get away full of fun facilities
Review 47:wonderful for a complete rest.
Review 48:Perfect
Review 49:Isolated, beautiful, friendly staff, great food.
Review 50:Very attentive staff, fabulous pool.
Review 51:The comfort, space, quietness, and opportunity to relax. Also, the proximity to hills and towns when needed. Exactly what we wanted.
Review 52:Good room and view
Review 53:Atmosphere of a mountain area!and everything in great!
Review 54:Lots of stairs
Review 55:Pleasant location, Very relaxing.
Review 56:Nothing to comment
Review 57:Everything is amazing at Columbia.
Review 58:amazing!!
Review 59:Mediocre food at best. Too bad because everything else was perfect.
Review 60:Amazing location, helpful stuff. Clean and large rooms.
Review 61:That many members of the staff does not speak greek
Review 62:The homely feeling,excellent service
Review 63:Cannot thing of any negatives :-)!
Review 64:The Best Spa in the Island. Very helpful Staff.
Review 65:NOTHING!
Review 66:EVERYTHING!
Review 67:Great Gym, pool (indoor and outdoor) Big room, lovely bathroom. nice breakfast and good service. No complaints
Review 68:noise of cleaners first thing in the morning
Review 69:nearly everything
Review 70:There was no entertainment in evening, also you need a car to get anywhere
Review 71:Leaving!!!
Review 72:Time to relax and indulge yourself
Review 73:Not a thing.
Review 74:The pool! Great service, very friendly, beautiful views, good food, elegant design.
Review 75:The slow wifi
Review 76:The location the facilities the service the resort the water sports
Review 77:WiFi was poor and internet connecion was terrible.
Review 78:Location, Service, friendliness. Food,
Review 79:Location was wonderful, food wonderful, staff very kind, the whole place was a fantastic experience, we will definitely return.
Review 80:nothing
Review 81:wonderful service from the the moment you arrived. lovely room. no boom boom music around the fantastic infinity pool.
Review 82:Pool, room, services, gardens
Review 83:Breakfast buffet needds some ideas about fruit like mango, papaya, porridge, ect There is no gluten free section..
Review 84:Perfect beautiful hotel with best pool and gardens. Amazing. Very firendly.
Review 85:Very noisy staff in the kitchen area and gardens early in the morning.Expensive dining and drinks.
Review 86:Fantastic pool and sea view. Beautiful spa area but expensive.
Review 87:WiFi had a very poor reception inside the room
Review 88:Magnificent venue, very comfy bed, cleanliness, very accommodating staff. Most importantly not favored by the noisy local inhabitants.
Review 89:(a) The food in the hotel 'taverna' was not really inspiring and the wine was fairly expensive so we ate out most nights. Luckily there is the most wonderful tiny restaurant in walking distance called Limanaki - the food there is to die for! (b) Not being told before arriving that part of the spa was going to shut - not good in March when its likely to rain/be colder on some days.
Review 90:Loved the very pretty and quiet location and the design of the hotel, which is basically a series of village houses with all the quirks you would expect including the cats. All the suites are special but our panoramic suite was superb, that is if you are OK with the regular climb up from the main hotel - good exercise and so worth it.
Review 91:There are a lot of cats in the facility, and they seem to be hungry all the time. So it might happen that during breakfast, cats keep jumping upon your table and try to grab food:) The hotel beach is not great, it is better to walk 300m to the public beach The SPA is much praised, but we did not find it very convincing.
Review 92:Great location, friendly staff We went with a 4 month old child and all the staff went out of their way to entertain the child.
Review 93:N/a
Review 94:We had a fabulous room. The panoramic room. The view was amazing. I have never seen a room like this before. The staff couldn't do enough for you. They would bend over blackness to help you. The food was amazing, and we will certainly return to the resort again.
Review 95:Nothing. It was a magnificent stay.
Review 96:We loved the luxurious ambiance, overall excellent service, friendly staff, delicious and gourmet food, beautiful picturesque views, exciting water sports, and the singers/musicians every night in the restaurants.
Review 97:Loved the warm welcome at check in with a welcome drink :). The location is magical and the facilities are of the best standard. Beautiful honeymoon escape.
Review 98:The rooms could be modernised slightly. In particular the television and selection of channels.
Review 99:The pool area was a very pleasant relaxing area. Also the room facilities were very good.
Review 100:Very disappointing that such a gorgeous hotel still has oldtv'S...even in the suite we stayed in! Furthermore, none of thechannels were clear to watch - they were all with alot of'noise'. The executive suite we stayed in was lovely butreminded me more of a summer room...it was a little cold - a nice rug inthe middle of the room would have made all the difference...toilet had alittle problem and you had to fidget around with it to get the water tostop after flushing...
Review 101:The hotel was great...a nice place for a quiet get-away with peace andquiet. Even though the Hotel was fully booked it felt as if we were theonly ones there! :) We wish we had stayed a little longer...at least 3-4days to enjoy the comfortness/luxury of the hotel.
Review 102:The room was fantastic - disappointed that the Italian restaurant wasclosed for the winter. Had a good meal in Apollo restaurant though andthe breakfast was great.
Review 103:the tv in the room is reticules, for such an amazing hotel. more clean area near sea, and better lights. turist love the night walk.
Review 104:Amazing design and luxurious bed. Most important is the amazing view! The food is fresh and nice.
Review 105:First rate for comfort and service, very fine large bedroom and excellent spa (steam room and sauna as well as treatments). Full range breakfast. Very good value in winter. Apollo Restaurant very good.
Review 106:The room facilitites and decoration was splendind. The hotel offered a unique getaway on the New Year's eve with special galla dinner arrangements and fireworks! The experience was absolutely amazing and I deffinately recommend it!
Review 107:The spa was very expensive so we decided not to use it on this stay.
Review 108:Location and relaxation. Nikki on reception was exceptionally friendly, professional and welcoming. We loved the cocktail bar and only ate at the Apollo. We felt that the Apollo was expensive for a bistro setting but the food was very good. On our next stay wil we eat at the Bachus restaurant. All staff were friendly and we particularly enjoyed the fact that you had so many Cypriot staff. We stayed in November so the hotel felt quite quiet but not sure we would have enjoyed a stay in busy summer time.
Review 109:Wasn't good value for money. The choice of eateries was poor and the room did not have a dvd as advertised and when we pointed this out nothing was done about it.
Review 110:Nothing we do not like
Review 111:We have stayed at the Columbia Beach Resort for six years in a row Sometimes twice a year , we find it really relaxing and able to switch off From the minite we arrive .
Review 112:Whilst the restaurants were very good, the choice was a little limited, but this is probably due to the good local choice around the hotel. It did not detract from our stay in any way. There was free wireless internet throughout the hotel, but it did not reach the far end of the room so we were not able to sit on the sofa or the balcony and access the internet.
Review 113:We had a quiet and relaxing stay. The Staff were polite and helpful as one would expect from a 5 star hotel. Everything was very well maintained and look great. The room was enormous and very comfortable. The pool was also superb.
Review 114:The beach is very narrow and pebbly. Not ideal for small children. Wi-Fi didn't work in our room in the beginning. After our complaint, it took 3 days to make it work. Internet connection rather slow. The kitchenette is not very useful, because there are no tableware or pans.
Review 115:Good sized hotel, not too big with beautiful gardens. Big room and bathroom. Confortable bed. Nespresso coffee machine in the room, but you have to pay for the capsules. Excellent breakfast. Large pool. Excellent fitness room. Very good restaurants in the village (5 km away) and along the beach.
Review 116:No kids club. The spa is nice but I had the worst 60 (!!!) eurospedicure ever. The spa dose not worth the money (unfortunatly)
Review 117:The rooms are great the bacchus retaurant is amazing but very expencive
Review 118:only thing that was a let down was there were too many young children.. We wanted peace and quiet by the pool, we didn't really get thatl
Review 119:Resort was beautiful, staff were friendly and professional. Food was lovely. Scenery was amazing. Suites were perfect, spacious and clean.
Review 120:There are two poor things about this hotel.1.If you take side sea view suite, what you actually get is pool view room and you can only imagine that the sea is somewhere nearby, sometimes its really noisy. So I would recommend to take garden view. 2.Despite there is an electric hot-plate in the room, it does not work due to security reasons.
Review 121:We would have liked the hotel to provide more sunbeds. After all, relaxing on the beach, in the garden, around the pool is what most ofthe hotel guests do on holiday. We paid premium price to stay at the Columbia Resort and Spa (a 5 star hotel), yet the guests of the sister hotel next door, the Columbia hotel (a 4 star hotel) used our beach beds which left us with nothing. I think the staff at the 5 star should be more protective of their guests.
Review 122:Very relaxing and a world away from 'real time'. Just what was needed. The amenities were very good and the staff was excellent. We liked that there were lots of cats around which were obviously very well looked after. It was only after we came home that we learned the hotel is more or less a cat sanctuary.
Review 123:Pool bar snacks outrageously priced
Review 124:Friedly staff, cleaniness, well kept gardens and grounds, cat-loving staff, homely, serenity, breakfast, dinner buffet, free internet & wifi, ability to bring in the room food items purchased individually from outside shops
Review 125:There was no music playing anywhere really, although the general clientele seemed to be older it would have been nice if some kind of chillout/lounge music played around the pool - or at least the pool bar. Although the food was good we were a little disappointed that there wasn't more local cuisine available on the menu.
Review 126:We were on a very short honeymoon and picked Cyprus for ease. Columbia Beach Resort was perfect, if you're looking for a quiet, luxurious hideaway this is the spot. It's a stunning layout and the staff are lovely, breakfast every morning was a delight. Thank you for a lovely stay!
Review 127:Inattentive order processing, particularly, E.G.: I ordered a spaservice 3 days before the desired date, but there wasn't any informationwhether reservation was made or not....
Review 128:Panorama Suite, seclusion, picturesque location of the hotel, friendlypersonnel...
Review 129:Staff was very well trained and friendly. Very professional. Service was the best I 've seen. I would for sure re consider this beautiful hotel next time again.
The Fine Print
Please note that the spa facilities are not available to children staying at the hotel.
