Reviews for Colour Hotel
Review 1:I accidentally booked my room for wrong night. My friends booked a room for dec 1, me dec 2. When we checked in and realized this we asked if I cud stay with them in their room as my booking was non refundable. They said I could for 60€. The same cost as booking a new completely separate room. So I booked another room and had 4 beds in my friends room and 3 in mine for three people. I can't believe we cud not just pay difference in double rate and triple rate of 25€ and use just one room...completely inflexible front counter staff
Review 2:The room was clean
Review 3:I really liked everything for this price, i think in the summer the rooms will get hot, the hotel need to by ventillators.
Review 4:After all that kind of negativ review i was more than happy with the Hotel! Perfect location, bakery, döner, coffe, cyber to print out the board card, train and bus station near by. Room small but for sleep enough, perfect clean, the bath as well! Stuff was totaly normal.
Review 5:If you are lookinf for quite and comfort, this is not the place for you. However, if you need a clean and convienient place to stay for a fair price this place will serve you fine. Colour has friendly staff, all the basics and is very easy to get to from the main train station.
Review 6:public computers only in German. no english option. clerk said it needs special technical settings. rooms are super small and cramped.
Review 7:location was nice close to shopping, red light district and the station
Review 8:For a 3 star which provided exactly what it promised, nothing.
Review 9:Friendly and flexible reception staff, small but functional room, good breakfast, location across the street from the central station.
Review 10:The pillow. Maybe I'm picky with pillows, but it was the worst pillow yet lol
Review 11:Location was great. Main station is literally in view outside the hotel. Old town is about a 15 min walk, and go to the bridge at night for good views of the city skyline
Review 12:Arrived at 11 pm. The male staff was very rude when I checked in. He straightaway charged my credit card without asking me whether I wanted to pay by cash. He scolded me when I tried to clarified certain things. It was so noisy outside the street even late night and early morning that could hardly sleep.
Review 13:Location
Review 14:This was not a 3 star hotel As advertised. The room was not clean, there were holes in the bedding and curtains, tiles were falling off the wall in the bathroom, there was a serious build up of dust, the water was either scalding hot or ice cold, the staff refused to help us figure out parking options (they claimed they didn't want to be liable for any advice given), there was no hotel parking available either. Overall, we felt duped.
Review 15:They had a very good breakfast
Review 16:No noticeable issues.
Review 17:Everything was great. Wifi was unexpectedly good. Breakfast also was really solid for the price. The only small inconvenience was bathroom that was located on the other floor. But that was really minor one, and was mentioned in the room description so I was ready for that. I was also really happy to meet very friendly Russian-speaking staff here.
Review 18:Whew. It is really noisy there. While the bedding looked clean, it had a few crumbs and hairs around the duvet and pillow. I'd recommend a bed sheet!
Review 19:The best part is the open window. I traveled at the tail end of summer, so was not too hot. Breakfast was GREAT.
Review 20:Wi-fi, used the wi-fi across the road in the train station instead.
Review 21:The location was good, beside the train station. Good for someone just passing through.
Review 22:The lady at the front desk on the morning shift has a disgusting attitude towards customers. She called me crazy when I asked why she was treating me so badly. She invited me to write to her manager to complain in a way that implied she could not care less and that her manager would not care either. I was so upset, I left the property early. The free wifi only includes one device. Any additional devices cost 20 euro for 2 days. The space to get into and out of the shower is approximately 30 centimetres which is barely adequate and my drain was blocked. The pillow, a large thin cushion is ridiculous. Never again. Try Excelsior, much better.
Review 23:Location close to haufbanhhof. Evening front desk gentleman friendly and helpful.
Review 24:1. No free breakfast
Review 25:1. Everything is perfect. 2. Very cheap hotel with excellent facilities. 3. So near to the terminal 4. Lot choice of restaurants nearby 5. Clean, helpfull staff . Everything
Review 26:The only thing I can think of that was not perfect was there were no elevators, and no formal seating / “common” room.
Review 27:This hotel is a gem. An easy walk to the town center and train station or the river, but at the same time quiet and not a busy street. The rooms were expectedly small but well appointed with coffee maker, fan (it was summer), and very fast wireless. Staff was very helpful with a great attitude. Quintessential breakfast with a delicious variety from the various types of coffee drinks, meats, deserts, eggs and bacon to die for, and pastries. The windows in the dinning room opened onto the streets and the guest, polite. For two people in the USA this would cost well over $200 and this place was half of that. Who said Germany had to be expensive ?
Review 28:We booked this hotel, but we were transferred to a different hotel. At the other hotel, we got 3 rooms instead of 1. The elevator was too small.
Review 29:The location was excellent. The rooms were spacious and excellent. Everything was near the hotel, lots of halal options.
Review 30:My room faced the big street, thus there was much traffic noise.
Review 31:The room was large and light, with good bedclothes. Internet access was excellent. Luggage may be temporarily deposited.
Review 32:bathroom on above floor was leaking. it was very hot and no AC.
Review 33:location is very good around central station. staff was ok. lift was there and helped going up and down. we stayed twice and they stored our luggage. They gave us fan.
Review 34:Woman at reception appeared slightly moody Room at front of hotel - terrible nosiy No air conditioning
Review 35:Location is good near HBF Price is pretty reasonable given the location
Review 36:Contrary to the staff-member who had duty the night before, the one who had the dayshift was quite rude.
Review 37:The hotel is close located to the train station. A staff-member had made an error by overbooking a room, but this was smoothly being corrected by the hotel management.
Review 38:The wi-fi is very unreliable, most of the time down and the staff refuse to fix it. No AC.
Review 39:The location next to the main railway station. Icecold water for free in the lobby.
Review 40:The mattress was so old that it bent and all the springs stuck out. The room was small, but ok. Unfortunately, it was facing a very busy road. If you leave the window open, then there's no way that you can sleep. If you shut it, then it gets extremely hit.
Review 41:You get what you pay for.
Review 42:Windows look right to the noizy street trafic and it is impossible to sleep with closed windows because there are no air condition or ventilation system in the room. Free Wi-fi is only for one device.
Review 43:Location, 200 m to the main railway station
Review 44:It was very hot in the room, we tried to open the Windows but there was a lit of noise coming from the streets. Also the bed was rather uncomfortable. Other thant that it was okay.
Review 45:Since it is in a quite busy area of the city the rooms which are facing the main road can be a bit loud at night.
Review 46:The location of the hotel is excellent, it is at the main railway station and only a short walk away from the city center. The room was clean and comfortable.
Review 47:Upon arrival , my daughter asked I'm German if he spoke English. With a very rude attitude and done he said , obviously. Nothing great about customer service. When asked about booking a return trip night he said to book on line . Not helpful
Review 48:The rooms were very simple , clean and comfy
Review 49:The room wasn't clean and was in need of rennovation. Staff seemed under stress.
Review 50:Lobby area is nice. Breakfast was also in a nice area and the buffet was ok. Our room was large and airy.
Review 51:Sounds silly but the pillows weren't really pillows, they were very thin cushions. Also the staff weren't that helpful at times - once we came back and the front door was locked and we couldn't get in and there was no-one on the reception desk. It was soon fixed though and all in all the place was what we need for a cheap and cheerful place to stay
Review 52:It was easy to get to, right by the main station and decent in size. It was clean and suitable for what we wanted.
Review 53:Surface renovation done in a not to professional manner.....and with a lot of extra to ad. Ok, if you just going to sleep, but not if you want to stay. Very slow wifi. carpets in hallway - extremly dirty. Person working in the breakfast area did not love her work.
Review 54:The breakfast was OK and the person in the reception. OK temperature at the room. Quite quite.
Review 55:The tiny size of the room was definitely no worth the price. The free wi-fi was good only til midnight after that I had to pay 10euro for midnight until noon.
Review 56:The location is excellent for train traveler.
Review 57:The hotel was run down and the rooms were tiny. Our sheets smelt like smoke. Breakfast wasn't very good and the hotel was loud at night.
Review 58:The location was perfect! Nice and close to the train station as well as the must see sites and restaurants.
Review 59:Due to the central location it's obviously a quite noisy spot…
Review 60:Location - very central if one needs to move around Frankfurt or the outer suburbs Very friendly staff
Review 61:WiFi is ostensibly free but I couldn't connect... The room was poor. I felt bad in this hotel in general.
Review 62:Location is quite nice. In front of the main railway station.
Review 63:There was no hot water in the morning, and the serves in the hotel is not good
Review 64:The location of the hotel is in the center! Perfect location, waking distance from the shopping area, the central station.
Review 65:wifi only for 1 apparatus Every additional costs 10€|day! Bed very small Room very small No cupboard
Review 66:Location is very good .near central station and near fair. 10min walking from center
Review 67:The walls between the rooms are very thin so one can hear everything (all the banging of doors, people walking up and down the staircase, etc.) - this sometimes makes it difficult to sleep. The drainage in the shower doesn't work properly and clogs-up when showering. The room was not "made up" the next day, i.e. it was NOT cleaned and NOT replaced with fresh towels. I don't think it's value for one's money - one can find a better place to stay with the rates.
Review 68:The receptionists were friendly. Very close to the main station.
Review 69:There are only 2 shared bathrooms. One is in 2nd floor and the other one is in 5th floor. If you want to go bathroom easily, just book the room with bathroom inside. Male staff is friendly but female staff is not. No card key for room access. Noise from outside at night
Review 70:-Cheap price -Very close to central station -Clean room
Review 71:The place is a bit shabby in general. The carpets were stained and are of poor quality. The breakfast was barely satisfactory.
Review 72:Location and value for money.
Review 73:There was confirmed one large bed in a double room but there were 2 beds joined together and 1 additional bed that we did not need
Review 74:Not expensive hotel near the train station so easy to get into train at morning. Breakfast was good and served in nice colorfull room - a very good coffee! Staff was nice and fast working!
Review 75:The pillow case was torn, literally had holes in it. The reception was rude when we came accompanied by 2 friends. He said to our faces that our room is triple and if we need a 4th bed must book an extra room, when in fact the friends were just stopping by for an hour, not spending the night.
Review 76:Good wifi
Review 77:Tiny poor room, no proper pillow (according to reception hotel was full), loud noise from the heather all night long, so you can't sleep good. Fells more like a hostel than a hotel. Won't be staying here again.
Review 78:The location is perfect, next to the main train station.
Review 79:Our room reeked of cigarette smoke! We were too tired to make a fuss but I felt they could have comp'd us breakfast or something as a consolation when we complained at check-out. They just said it was "supposed" to be non-smoking.
Review 80:We needed a convenient place to the train station for just one night and the location was very convenient. The reception staff were also very nice.
Review 81:I found the reception staff to be very rude and unhelpful. The rooms at the front are noisy and the walls are thin so you can hear between rooms.
Review 82:The hotel is located very close to central station which is helpful. The central heating was good. The room was clean. The Wifi worked well (while it lasted).
Review 83:The window couldnt close properly, so during the night you could clearely hear noises from the street.
Review 84:The position, very close to the train and bus station. The bed was big comfortable, the room tidy and quite clean.
Review 85:No dislikes
Review 86:Clean bright modern rooms. Good self service breakfast. Good wi-fi plus free use of PC in reception. Easy access to all public transport - Central railway station and local tram services.
Review 87:thin walls, can hear TV next door if its loud. WiFi is free but very patchy at the back of the hotel
Review 88:location and value was great. room is small and very functional Staff were polite
Review 89:Attitude of female receptionist...she was bit rude.
Review 90:The location of hotel makes it worthy for a short stay. The Wi-Fi was good and basic breakfast at the cost of EUR 6 was reasonable.
Review 91:not the cleanliness of rooms, had fruits flies?!?! could hear my neighbour watching tv girl at the front desk not the friendliest of people
Review 92:wifi and location were great
Review 93:Extremely small room and bathroom. Bed wasn't as comfortable as all of the others. Comforter sticking out of the duvet was dirty. Hotel was worn looking.
Review 94:It was within walking distance of the hauptbahnhof.
Review 95:We booked a double room but were given a room with 4x single beds- not exactly what I was hoping for for a trip away with my boyfriend. The receptionist never said anything until we asked- that they had overbooked the double room. was disappointed we weren't offered even small compensation like breakfast included as a goodwill gesture.
Review 96:The location was so close to the train station, right across the road and a short walk to the main shopping area. The reception was really lovely and the room would be nice for groups travelling
Review 97:no breakfast... smoke alarm began chirping in the middle of the night. Thought desk guy would at least offer me a cup of coffee for the trouble... no deal...
Review 98:location.
Review 99:This is my second time booking at colour hotel and I'm most likely to keep staying here again. Great service-friendly staff , comfortable and accessible if you want to reach the attractions . Can get a little noisy but the hotel is located right in front of the hauptbahnhof so it's expected. Had a great stay.
Review 100:Breaffast was fairly basic but at 6 euro, what can you expect. There was no sliced bread the first day, so the toaster was unusable. Staff were slow to clear tables, and you might only find a table cluttered, but what were the staff doing,is what I would like to know. It would not put me off another breakfast
Review 101:I did ask for a quiet room. Rooms at front overlook trams, but the noise seemed to be from underground. However windows are airtight and cut out much noise. a room at back might have been better. I have stayed here before, and would stay again, very convenient for a solo traveller
Review 102:Wi-fi is only for one device and then 10 euro per day after that, it is a bit slow (ie. Skype and FaceTime were a challenge). My single room didn't have a wardrobe or closet, only hangers on the wall.
Review 103:Steps from the train station, clean, modern, great value. Staff is super friendly and helpful, I travelled with a dog and stayed 6 nights no problems whatsoever. There are so many dodgy hotels around this is a true gem!
Review 104:- It is not about the hotel but somehow I was told that I booked two rooms, which was probably a mistake by the booking.com
Review 105:- price - quietness - location
Review 106:A pretty dull breakfast bar.
Review 107:The hotel is on a busy street, but I asked for a quiet room and was given one at the back. No view, but no noise. The staff were helpful and pleasant, the room clean, and the location great--for getting to and from the airport and Frankfurt Messe. Excellent Turkish food in the streets nearby.
Review 108:The receptionist who checked us in was really rude to my colleague. Shehad absolutely no reason to be so nasty. I've heard Germans arerude, but this was beyond just basic curtness. I've never metanyone with so little patience and so much anger. Ruined the entirestay for us. Just to be clear, this was just the one receptionist(female, German, mid-30s) who was horrible. All the others were politeand friendly.
Review 109:Breakfast was great, the location was excellent, the rooms werecomfortable and clean.
Review 110:Noice from the street. Bath on the korridor. Worn down budget hotel. Ifthe price was 50 Euro pr. Night its fair, but not 210 Euro pr. Night.
Review 111:The staff try to keep it clean
Review 112:Nothing particular. However there were quite a number of ambulance sirens at night... Not something the hotel can control.
Review 113:The hotel is right next to the main station and it's very easy to access to other locations. There's also nice bakeries nearby.
Review 114:The staff can be rude or impatient Only two shared bathrooms in the whole hotel, however they are clean and no much waiting if you choose good times
Review 115:Location Wi fi Reasinable price for location Clean
Review 116:A bit noisy from the tramp that passes infront of the hotel. But that is the price you have to pay if you want to stay in the center of the city :)
Review 117:Small but very nice and clean room. They change the towels every day. Close to the main railway station and the bus for shuttle to the airport Frankfurt and Hahn. Close for walking to the old city.
Review 118:The noise in front of the hotel. The trams rumble past all night. Andseeing as there no ac in the hotel you need a window open letting thetram noise in. A room at the back would be better. Front office staff abit grumpy.
Review 119:Easy to get there from the station. It's literally over the road. The family room was very spacious and clean. Breakfast, for only 6 euro, was good value.
Review 120:-A bit noisy -Bathroom was a bit moldy
Review 121:-Very close to the Frankfurt (Main) Hbf -Many restaurants in the area -Good ventilation -Big window -High ceilings -Great Wi-Fi
Review 122:no negatives!!!!!
Review 123:I suspect that I got a very cheap night as it was very late when I booked. I would have been happy to pay more, the hotel is very modern and clean, beds very comfortable and a superb en-suite
Review 124:maybe you could put a small electric fan in the rooms in the summer months because the tram outside makes it noisy to keep the window open
Review 125:excellent location next to the train station and easy to get to all the sights. helpful English-speaking staff
Review 126:Central location (especially nice if you arrive at the main train station like us); very quiet room despite closeness of train station; clean and bright rooms; excellent value for money; brekfast was good with wide selection of yoghurts, bread and cheese, no veggies/fruits though.
Review 127:Took a while to check in. I had to wait 15-20 min at the reception until the former guests had done something there even I had a reservation. A key holder was too big and when I opened a door, it hit a lot around a door nob and made noise at night. Loudness from the street. The hotel looked recently renovated but the washbowl in a bathroom was cracked and reminded me the renovation was just partial.
Review 128:It is very close to Frankfurt hbf. Looked like recently renovated and the room looked (partially) clean
Review 129:It is a little loud at night, but it's really not too bad. Wifi on my phone went a bit funny, but worked perfect on le iPad.
Review 130:Location was brilliant, easy to get around, really nice, pleasant place to stay.
Review 131:The guy at the reception desk is very very very rude. Unbelievable! We've been traveling around many countries and many cities in Germany and have never ever seen a reception like this. Also, his rudeness totally irritated our guests, who didn't speak English or German. The price is cheap but that doesn't mean you can treat guests like this.
Review 132:The only dissappointing aspect of this hostel is the staff andmanagement.I paid with credit card, not mine but my wife. During the months prior my travel, the hostel charged the reservation to my wife's card. I used her card because the hostel was having problems with my card. Though they sent me emails many times to say me that they have problems to charge the fee to the credit card (when I say may times, lets say three o four), they did not tell me that they will want to see the card when arriving. On the one hand, everything was okay when charging, but six weeks later when I get there, they told me that I must show them the card as "I could have stolen it" (they used this phrasing). It was funny after the sequence of emails where I provide them with my card and my wife's card many times that they did not warm me about this. So the staff member tried to return me the money to my credit card, but instead he charged me twice, and got upset for his mistake. Since he charged me twice, the returned me the money twice. Since I thoug that he was al least very impolite when telling me that I could have stolen the card, I told him that his mistakes cost me money as every transaction has a fee also. He got upset and he said "you never make a mistake" and gave me three euros. The point here: On the one hand, they are very strict on payment policies, in such a way that they contect you by email and so on so that they get what they want, but on the other hand, they do not communicate their requirement and if you do not fulfill them it is your problem. This is somehow typical in German hostels. In this case, I might have had few cash .... And if I have to pay for my "mistake" of not taking the card Why should not they pay for their mistakes? Still yet, I lost money due to the exchamge rate.
Review 133:The location is a couple of blocks away from the main railwy station andthere are many shops nearby where you can buy whatever you need. Thisincludes some supermarkets. The WiFi is quite good, you can have skypemeetings. The room is clear, restrooms clean.
Review 134:a short (and pleasant) walk along the river to all the major attractions, and you can literally see the train station from the hotel. Staff were excellent and spoke very good English. Room was compact with good shower and good internet connection
Review 135:Ants in the room. Rooms was extremely hot even though it was cool out. Bed was at an angle. Staff was annoyed that they were being bothered when they wanted to browse the web.
Review 136:Close to the hoffbahnhof
Review 137:With no A/C, but lots of traffic noise coming in through the open window, I would have loved a ceiling fan. ( Stayed here in July. ) Earplugs essential given the noise. Not very light-proof curtains. No fruit or croissant/pastry at breakfast. Loads of cheese, but that's not really what I want first thing in the AM. These are all quibbles though. Overall it's a good place.
Review 138:Handy for the trains, if that's an issue. The hotel has style, which is impressive given the price. Room was fine. Definitely recommended in terms of value for money.
Review 139:It got really hot in the room when the outside temperature reached 30. Opening the window resulted in a lot of noise.
Review 140:The hotel was 100 m from the train station. Exactly where we wanted to be.
Review 141:The bed was just awful. I've slept in some pretty uncomfortable beds and this was one of the worst, both my partner and I agreed. Very uncomfortable resulting in back aches. Insanely loud, too; every time anyone moved it made tons of noise-- not so romantic. Also the bottom sheet didn't fit, they'd used two top sheets tucked instead of a real bottom sheet? Besides the bed the room was not very clean. Lots of mysterious stains on the walls and furniture. There was an ant problem by the bathroom- we had ants in the room the whole time. The sink (drain) smelled of rotten fish. The room was SMALL. We are not large people and didn't have an excessive amount of things with us, we could hardly move around. It made it an uncomfortable stay.
Review 142:Great location. Helpful staff.
Review 143:Nothing.
Review 144:Perfect location. Nice place.
