Reviews for Zunfthaus zu Wirthen
Review 1:The staff were very friendly and helpful. They upgraded our room because the hotel wasn't full. The room was small but attractive and clean, as was the bathroom. Very central location. It was perfect for what we wanted.
Review 2:bedrooms were not the most comfortable, especially with shared bathroom. appreciate they did try and move me. could benefit from a little more and better hotel shampoos
Review 3:good service, like the coffee machine in room,
Review 4:The staff were the most genuine, helpful, pleasant people I've met in a very long time. The breakfast was excellent and the room spotless. I recommend it as a home away from home.
Review 5:Breakfast: While the dining room of hotel is full of historic charm, it would be lovely if the variety of food options would be expanded in the future.
Review 6:Were given an amazing apartment across street from hotel, with large historic private dining room with wood paneled walls facing the town's main cobbled pedestrian square; apartment included clothes washer and dryer and kitchen.
Review 7:For breakfast they made me sit im the darkest corner when it was a beautiful sunny day so it would have been much nicer to sit in the part near the terrace. The staff at the restaurant was not very friendly. They kept walking across my table without greeting.
Review 8:The decoration of the room and hotel is pretty. Breakfast buffet was good. Staff at the reception was nice. There is a night entrance so you can come and go as you like.
Review 9:Nothing
Review 10:location, nice comfortable clean and well equipped rooms. All the staff were super friendly all well informed. Resturant was very nice and the food was quick and of high quality
Review 11:The restaurant downstairs, I found to be quite pricy - more than the restaurants surrounding the hotel.
Review 12:Overall a great hotel right in the centre of Solothurn. I faced the street and thought the noise would wake me (church and clock tower chimes every 15 mins), but with the shutters and drapes drawn, I didn't hear it much. However, the room had no air conditioning, so I expect in the summer time, with the windows open to let in air, the chimes could easily disturb sleep. This is definitely not a modern hotel, but it's clean and comfy and I would recommend.
Review 13:The pillow was very flat and most uncomfortable, otherwise everything else including the bed, was very good.
Review 14:Excellent central position. good food, wide selection for breakfast. Good service by the waitresss. Well established system for night entry, particularly useful as the restaurant was closed for the whole day because of feuer tag carnival, and a large private function!
Review 15:nothing.
Review 16:I like the location, the city, the distance to airport and big cities. I feel me home in Solothurn. The atmosphere of the city, the history, the churches, the shops and so on. Das Bahnhof ist sehr gut und immer geöffent, auch when alle andere Tearooms and shops are closed, kan man auf das Bahnhof gute Kaffee trinken. Ich solle zurück kommen im Solothurn. Ich war hier auch im Adventszeit 2008.
Review 17:some family members suffered noisy bedrooms overlooking main street; quality of rooms overall good but varied according to experience; double bed too small in one of the double rooms (3rd floor) and room not spacious enough; one member of staff gave poor service and not enough communication (bar/restaurant) but others excellent; rather alot of confusion at first re booking rooms but all worked out fine.
Review 18:decor, nice quiet comfortable bedroom/bed on top floor at back, mixture of modern standards and traditional character, food and drink, manager on duty last weekend, general friendliness, breakfast... the whole experience and being in centre of Solothurn. Everyone liked it despite a few problems.
Review 19:I reserved 2 rooms ,same quality(Superior rooms) ,same price, close to each other. However only 1 room was superior quality at the first floor and the other room could be reached by stairs only at the top floor(4.th Floor). When asked for the change I was told that all rooms were occupied, althoug I made the reservation 3 weeks in advance.
Review 20:Nice Hotel at the historic city center,Spacious rooms, gurme restaurant and bar. Close to everywhere
Review 21:Superb location and helpful people...room was excellent with old town and clock tower view. Great breakfast...perfect place to stay in Solothurn and value for money
Review 22:Entrance was obscured due to restaurant. No one at reception (this seems normal!) so when arrived and in a hurry to check in and leave, this was not good! However later in evening when I first went to my room, they had put my stuff in my room so good recovery.
Review 23:Room and services in the room were very good.
Review 24:-
Review 25:it was quite delightful right in the heart of Solothurn. our room was really good, our dog very welcome as were we.
Review 26:Free welcome drink Amazing views
Review 27:TV was not working, very small room for 100 CHF/night, view from the window into other people rooms.
Review 28:The staff friendly and the room was nice and clean
Review 29:Location calme gentillesse personnel
Review 30:The room was quite small.
Review 31:Staff were most helpful. It was clean and conveniently placed
Review 32:Menu not not selection, breakfast really good though.
Review 33:Nice room, really good location, lovely town.
Review 34:Outstanding location, great staff
Review 35:Nothing.
Review 36:We upgraded to the Tugginer Suite, room 205. It is spacious, has two full-size beds, a large comfortable sofa, and a great bathroom. Comfortable. The hotel is in the middle of old town only a short walk from the train station. Breakfast is in the hotel's main dining room, which has a wood ceiling and walls. It's wonderful.
Review 37:The use of the Channel 13 spectrum on their Wifi router is not friendly to travelers with North American wifi adapters/chips. However, reception will provide a wired option at no charge, so it's not a big deal.
Review 38:Room was lockable, delicious breakfast, friendly staff, TV...
Review 39:The reception desk morning lady did not want to deduct the value of the welcome drinks we received from the evening lady, nonetheless we had a diner at their restaurant, until I mentioned I would make a comment at booking. The hallways did not look clean nor did they smell aireated. The price is too high for the service and quality obtained according to European standards. No own parking. Not sufficient shampoo in the bathroom. For the price they could easily give 2 mini sacks of soap per person. The cold meat at breakfast was low quality.
Review 40:The dinner was nice. Restaurant service was very friendly and caring.
Review 41:Tiny room Tiny "double" bed Noisy bathrrom fan switches itself on in the middle of the night Did not sleep much
Review 42:Friendly and welcoming staff Great food and service in the restaurant Picturesque hotel in picturesque setting
Review 43:Wifi unreliable, spring mattress a bit soft, free breakfast lacked any imagination. Mostly bread and cheese. No coffee maker in room. No view.
Review 44:Friendly staff, good location and attached restaurant was good.
Review 45:Rooms were quite garish in decor (think coronation street 1987) and they have an unmanned front desk after a certain hour so you need to come in a separate entrance. For the price I would have expected a better standard of hotel (in decor and over all experience) The Room service were hoovering and clunking around in the next room at 9.30 which was quite uncool
Review 46:Zunfthaus is a hotel smack bang in the middle of Solothurn in Switzerland. The town is lovely and the hotel is in the middle of everything Bizarrely you need to go through a restaurant to reach reception Rooms were comfy Free Wifi and Complimentary Drink - didn't try the breakfast
Review 47:Noise from the street during the night - street cleaners at 01. 00h and drunks (at 05.30). The lift was broken on 2 days.
Review 48:Very friendly staff - something I left behind was returned to me by post 2 days later. Excellent food and service. Welcome drinks. Earplugs to sleep! A wonderful view of the old town from our window.
Review 49:bed too soft, room very small, elevator and stairs a bit confusing.
Review 50:great location, friendly staff, excellent restaurant with some of the best vegetarian meals I have ever eaten.
Review 51:The owner/manager was rude to me on arrival, he has an atitudeissue which could cost him business. However he did mellow as theevening went on.
Review 52:The hotel was clean, the restaurant was very good, and the locationwas perfect.
Review 53:I had reserved a room with shared bathroom, but when I arrived they offered me a double room with ensuite bathroom for the same price. The room was very spacious and clean. It was very nicely decorated and had all comforts (big comfortable beds, mini bar, hair dryer, ...). Furthermore, the staff is extremely friendly and the location is just wonderful!
Review 54:The breakfast was very uninteresting and given the price of the accommodation and the standard of the food in the hotel generally, it was not particularly good. It was in a very dark room and there was no outside space to eat breakfast on a beautiful day. The fruit in the fruit bowl was so unripe that it would have taken a week before it was edible. Just for looking I think, not for eating. It is hard to say whether I would recommend the hotel as Switzerland is fantastically expensive, so compared to other hotels it may have been good value.
Review 55:We were not happy with the first room we were offered which had a tiny little window which didn't open fully on the fourth floor. We were offered another room on the third floor with huge windows and although it was a more expensive room, we were not charged more for it. The staff were very friendly, although at breakfast when there was a full complement at breakfast, the staff were stressed and overstretched. It was right in the centre of the town, so very well appointed.
Review 56:Situated in the centre of the old town of Solothurn and close to the Cathedral the hotel is quite small with an excellent restaurant and dining outdoors when the weather permits. I chose it because of its original character and I was not disappointed.
Review 57:Not a thing
Review 58:We loved this family-run hotel in Solothurn, most especially because ofthe warmth and generosity of its staff. The hotel is ideally located, provides the perfect "inn" or "B&B-type" experience, and proved one ofour all-time favorites due to its down-to-earth, comfortable luxury. Theincluded breakfasts were a wonderful start to the day, and therestaurant was invariably packed with locals.
Review 59:This is a delightful little hotel in this delightfully beaitiful townon the gorgeous river Aare. We traveled through Swizterland for abouttwo weeks and this hotel was by far the best value for money, costingless than a £100, with free Internet, welcome drinks and lavishbreakfast included in the price. Shared toilet and shower were not aproblem at all. Extremely clean, very friendly staff, great experiencein the overall.
Review 60:Central location can be a bit noisy at night, especially when you wnatto have a window open.
Review 61:Overall, excellent place to stay. This was the third time that we stayedat this hotel, and again it did meet all our expectations.
