Review 3:Our room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included in the room rate.
Review 4:Nothing we did not like in the hotel. Could have done with brighter weather but that was out of the hotel's hands.
Review 5:Lovely, hotel in the most picturesque of Swiss towns. Location perfect. Food delicious (try the fondue and the rosti) friendly owners. Excellent wifi too. Perfect for picking our son up from the international Scouting centre 2 mins up the road
Review 6:The only problem was getting in and out of the bath as the bath was under the roof. Getting out one had to hang on to the taps
Review 7:It was very clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly
Review 8:We traveled as a family of 11, ages from 5 to 72. The Prentlers were very accommodating to transportation needs, early departure and to a reservation mixup by Booking.com
Review 9:Perfect breakfast with high quality local products (cheese, joghurt) Practical rooms with all necessary equipment Good location for hiking to Oeschinensee, Gasterental and Gemmipass Very friendly staff
Review 10:English was a bit of an issue, but that's Europe and we got by just fine.
Review 11:The hotel is situated in a quiet area of Kandersteg with ample parking round the back. The room was a bit small, but comfortable. Wi-Fi was pretty good too. Breakfast consisted of a nice buffet and freshly brewed coffee.
Review 12:Out of town a bit when hiking - took some time to locate. Would have liked to talk with staff about town and hiking access, but no one around and person we did meet was not talkative and rather grumpy.
Review 13:Unpleasant staff and boring breakfast.
Review 14:Staff a bit brusque but fairly typical for Switzerland.
Review 15:Basic no fuss rooms. Good restaurant with reasonable prices, especially for Switzerland which is very dear for food. Good location. Quiet.
Review 16:Nothing fancy but nice sized room, very clean, comfortable - nice cosy atmosphere in hotel, surprisingly good restaurant with reasonable prices and excellent service. Bar area was friendly with more locals than tourists
Review 17:Staff friendly, location great, good service and food.
Review 18:Location and price
Review 19:location
Review 20:Rooms are a little dated
Review 21:Bar and restaurant are both lovely, even if you don't stay at this hotel go for drinks and pizza here!
Review 22:The hiking opportunities all within easy reach of the hotel.
Review 23:Staff does not speak English but still really easy to get everything figured out.

Review 32:I liked everything
Review 33:The food, breakfast and dinner.
Review 34:Nothing
Review 35:The location, the price, the restaurant, the size of the rooms.
Review 36:A toaster at breakfast would be nice to put the delicious bread into.
Review 37:A family run business which made it feel like home away from home! The room was very clean and comfy, the breakfasts were included in the price of the room & had a good variety of foods to choose from, the staff were very friendly and had great memories (ie: remembering coffee orders and room numbers to faces) and the views from the room were brilliant! Only an 8min walk to the train station and a 5min walk into town. Walking distance to the cable car to see main attractions was only 15mins away. A very homely hotel with great community access. We will be back!
Review 38:There's a lovely little restaurant with delicious food downstairs which is very convenient because the hotel is not in the center of the village. But one could walk both to the International Scout Center and the center of the village in 10 minutes. Beautiful view, right next to the cross-country skiing and the owner was very friendly. The staff was accommodating for a late meal on both nights and we were comfortable and cozy. Would most certainly stay there again.
Review 39:Nothing, it was all good.
Review 40:A nice friendly hotel with an excellent breakfast and good selection for dinner. Our room had a balcony that overlooked the farm yard next door. Every night we sipped wine while we watched the animals interact. It was great fun. The free town bus stops within a block of the hotel so getting around Kandersteg was convenient. We will certainly stay there next time we visit Kandersteg.
Review 41:I took a dorm bed (backpacker) and was very pleased with the accommodation. The owner prepared a very early breakfast especially for me, as I needed to go early, which was really nice.
Review 42:The staff is unfriendly and inattentive. Breakfast is a robbery: at thebuffet there were only a few things straight from the fridge and nofruits, and the pleasure costed 28 eur per person. Honestly, it'sthe most expensive breakfast in my life. I would gladly book a roomwithout breakfast but on booking.com there is no such possibility.
Review 43:Nice view from the window of the room and relatively good location.
Review 44:Twin beds... I always prefer a double bed. Especially when the little one is sleeping in the middle.
Review 45:Play room for small kids. Lots of toys to play with. If we'd stayed inside the hotel the whole day our 2 y/o would have been perfectly happy! And... the play room is next to the bar!
Review 46:The Wi-Fi had a very weak signal and wasn't available most of thetime in our room.
Review 47:Our room was great, not luxurious but large, comfortable and extremelyclean, recently renovated, with a large balcony. Great place to staywith a small child: play area outside, toy room inside, a littlebackyard farm to look at across the road. Everything was set up for uswhen we came down to breakfast with a high chair, child's plate andcutlery. Quite a reasonable price (by Swiss standards).
Review 48:No one home on arrival @ 4 pm. Micro shower/toilet combined in space1.5 x 0.6 metres in
