Reviews for Condor De Los Andes
Review 1:I made this booking because of its high ratings but I think it does not reflect the rating it currently holds. Reception closes at 12am and you will need to place a $100 peso deposit for a key should you want to return after that time. You will be given your sheets and you will need to make your own bed on check-in. The quality of the sheets are not good and I found batches of hair in mine, so I ended up using my sleeping bag. Breakfast is simple: bread and spread with tea, coffee, cordial. Speaking with other fellow travellers the rate is twice the price of other hostels in town and so in my opinion this stay is also overpriced.
Review 2:staff are friendly and helpful
Review 3:Old matrace, very small breakfast, everything do it yourself-style. There are better places for less money in Chalten.
Review 4:Good kitchen for preparing your own food.
Review 5:The only thing to be improved is that it is not possible to take a shower on the day of checking out:the buses leave often in the evening and it would be nice to have a shower before entering the bus for a very long trip
Review 6:Very friendly staff, who knows all possibilities to make your stay in El Chalten womderful
Review 7:Nonfunctional wifi during my 3 night stay. We know that wifi is not fast in chalten, but when I went a neighboring hostel, the wifi is useable to send receive email, etc. Old saggy bed/pillow. Very old sheets (see through). Relatively expensive for a hostel in chalten.
Review 8:Ensuite rooms. Spacious lockers. Proximity to the bus station.
Review 9:I had really tiny room and WiFi was working really bad (mostly not), but it's in the whole town like this. Although WiFi connection in other hostels was better.
Review 10:Clean rooms and bathrooms, most of stuff really nice. Equipped kitchen, lockers in the room (but bring ur own lock), also they have hairdryer.
Review 11:1) Included "Breakfast" was very skimpy (basically bread and butter) and the cost to add a scrambled egg was very high. 2) WiFi barely ever worked. Not just slow. Often just dead. Had to go to a local cafe to get even basic things done online. It wasn't just the quality of internet available in/to the community, it was also their own internal networking devices that sometimes didn't allow you to even connect to them. 3) Rooms had almost no plugs. In order to charge basics (e.g. camera and phone) we had to unplug every lamp in the room, which made it quite dark.
Review 12:1) Very helpful staff. 2) Location very convenient to bus station and all other destinations in El Chalten.
Review 13:Uncomfortable beds,no wall plugs in the dormitory (there were 2 situated so you couldn't use it). Breakfast was almost none existing. 4 small pieces of bread with jam.
Review 14:Staff was very nice and helpful
Review 15:The "free breakfast" was cold bread plus paid items like cereal and eggs. I got a ton of bug bites overnight and the WiFi never worked. When we and other guests notified the staff, they said all was fine and made no effort to help.
Review 16:The tea was good, and the coffee mediocre. It's a cozy environment before you get to know it.
Review 17:Extremely cramped bathroom (for the 4-person dorm) Poor and uncomfortable beds, I slept on the floor
Review 18:Nothing much to like about Condor except that the town is small so everything including the trailheads are close by
Review 19:Poor breakfast but that's a common one in most of South America. ;) Be sure to bring plenty of effectivo (cash) as there is just one single ATM which runs out of money quickly or doesn't work at all with some cards. No credit card payment in the hostel!
Review 20:Friendly hostel close to the bus terminal and supermarket with superb view from the breakfast/comunal area.
Review 21:Close to bus terminal and shops/restaurant. Kitchen and common area is welcoming to use. Having a private bathroom is a luxury, which was nice. Wifi is ehh but it's a remote town.
Review 22:The wifi wasn't very good, but know what? You'll be far too busy enjoying the natural beauty in El Chalten anyway! You won't have time for the "net".
Review 23:I loved being able to walk with my [sadly, rather excessive] luggage from the bus station to the hostel, so I rate the location as excellent. The staff was quite helpful on giving advice regarding hikes and places to eat. The common areas were great for mingling with other travelers as well.
Review 24:Hostel was really expensive for only offering the most basic services, kitchen was tiny and had no equipment and not even an oven, its not the friendliest hostel in the world and everything costs extra, including if you would like more than just white bread for breakfast.
Review 25:Hostel was very clean, staff was helpful and informative.
Review 26:I stayed at America Del Sur in Buenos Aires also on this trip. By comparison, America Del Sur is a much better place yet at a lower price. The staff at Condor de los Andes was less friendly, and the facility was less comfortable and felt cheaper.
Review 27:The place has a casual atmosphere like many hostels. The dinning area is comfortable to stay.
Review 28:Beautiful town, wonderful people, great food! Easy to get around and lots of trails that start in town with lots of different ratings
Review 29:Nothing.
Review 30:Clean and perfect location, close to bus terminal and shops. Staff helpful with hikes. Good breakfast.
Review 31:The dormitory room is totally lack of space. Not comfortable at all to stay there.

Review 37:Zero wifi, breakfast is terrible
Review 38:Good atmosphere, good location
Review 39:Wifi barely worked, check out was very early
Review 40:Kitchen facilities, location, warm room!
Review 41:the hostel didn't allow us to check out a day earlier
Review 42:laundary service, location
Review 43:Bad experience with bed bugs!
Review 44:Friendly and helpful staff, relaxed atmosphere, good coffee and nice kitchen. Sofas in two areas and clean and comfy rooms. The location is good.
Review 45:Breakfast was very basic (worse than other hostals). There is free wifi (extremely slow) but no Internet access. You need your own tablet/phone etc.
Review 46:The double rooms with bath were excellent, as good as some hotels.
Review 47:Not a comfortable place to sit in entire common area. If you are not a rock climber, you should skip El Chalten and Condor: day hikes are few, and extremely long, difficult and taxing even for the moderately fit.
Review 48:One of the few places in entire town where you can actually see Mt. Fitz Roy, but they need to clean the big windows.
Review 49:Breakfast is very basic and the kitchen is pretty small for the numberof people staying.
Review 50:Really comfortable hostel, nice big rooms, hot showers, good informationon trekking and helpful staff.
Review 51:Nothing, all was good!
Review 52:Everything was perfect. Helpfull staff, good position, near theterminal and near of one of the tracks, complete kitchen and, ingeneral, a good vibe.
Review 53:Dorm bathroom very tiny and cramped, dorm room also very small for 6 persons not helped by the fact there was only 4 lockers
Review 54:Friendly and helpful staff great location and nice and warm
