Reviews for Burgblickhotel
Review 1:Needs a new, more welcoming front door. The halls and stairs need decorated and new carpets.
Review 2:Nice, bright room with balcony. A very good breakfast. Very good food in the restaurant. Car parking is available but spaces are tight. 15 minute walk to town.
Review 3:- None, though some would find it difficult to carry heavy suitcases up narrow stairs to the third floor
Review 4:- Friendly staff - Clean throughout including bedding, towels, etc - Great breakfasts - Only a 15 min walk to Bernkastel historic centre
Review 5:Noisy rooms, I think they have gone away from focusing on their hotel to focusing on restaurant. Just not the same feel as two years ago, something's missing.
Review 6:Breakfast is great!
Review 7:The pillows need to be changed - had a very hard time getting to sleep.
Review 8:Always a warm welcome. They served me a nice warm bowl of soup for a late lunch even though the kitchen was closed. Breakfast is the best and it is a nice quiet location with just a 5 minute walk to the centre of town.
Review 9:Friendly, helpful staff. Great location and views. Convenient parking. Excellent breakfast. Will recommend this hotel to all travelers to Bernkastel-Kues.
Review 10:A lovely find this hotel - great value for money. Nice welcome from the chap at reception, a good breakfast and a comfortable room. And free parking for my motorbike. It's a short walk into the charming town. Would thoroughly recommend it - it was just a shame we were staying one night!
Review 11:It was a bit of a walk into the main town. Good job it didn't rain!
Review 12:The room allocated was very large but soul-less and had no view. The manager was genuinely disappointed we didn't like the room and moved us to a far nicer one. He couldn't have been more helpful. Good tea and coffee facilities were provided on the landing. The breakfasts were amazing.
Review 13:Far to hot inte the room. It was a heatwave and the romms could do better with ac. The fan provided did not do the job at all.
Review 14:Really nice boutiqe hotel. The dinner at the terrace was faboulus.
Review 15:The room do not have air condition unfortunately, and it was very warm during our stay so the room was boiling and it was difficult to sleep.
Review 16:Great stay, very friendly staff and owner. Clean and perfect located. The breakfast was also very good.
Review 17:Wifi access was unduly complicated, staff at breakfast were not very friendly
Review 18:Comfortable room with good bed, great shower, great breakfast, and coffee/tea facilities for guest in hall.
Review 19:Stairs very steep, no lift ,if older it's not on as no assistance by staff
Review 20:Ralph was must helpful with restaurants and what to do Burgblick restaurant excellent
Review 21:The beautiful renovated building, the great location, the delicious dinner, the comfortable room with the fantasic views, a breakfast that made me never want to leave, the entire Burgblick team and most of all, Ralf, the guy that built the Burgblickhotel business and was such a kind, giving, knowledgable and entertaining host.
Review 22:None
Review 23:Very good staff Very clean Small but counting details as Nespresso on the room with free cups Excellent breakfast Weinbar, very good local wines Restaurant in the old butchery Really value for money
Review 24:It is slightly away from the center of town, but it is all easily walkable. It was fine for us, but some might not like that.
Review 25:The room was comfortable, the staff were very nice and the breakfast was great. Parking was easy.
Review 26:Friendly, welcoming hosts. Spotlessly clean. Wonderful choice of fresh and home made produce at breakfast, which also included the option of freshly prepared scrambled or fried eggs and freshly squeezed orange juice. Able to relax in the wine bar with a large selection of Mosel wines. There was a good, reliable WiFi service available from my room and all areas of the hotel. Highly recommend!
Review 27:We love this little hotel and have stayed twice now. We even loved the decoration/ furniture in our room (15) so much that we decorated our own bedroom the same! There are great facilities and a nice little wine bar within the hotel. The staff speak excellent English and will go out of their way to help. Breakfast is also well worth it. We will be recommending this place to our friends x
Review 28:Nothing at all
Review 29:Wonderful place to stay. We were lucky to arrive the day of the Goose Dinner. Very friendly and helpful staff. A very clean and large bedroom. Excellent choice of breakfast. 10 minutes walk to the Christmas Market. Will certainly be going again.
Review 30:Our room was on the third floor without lift.
Review 31:The room was modern and cosy. It was very quiet. The tea/coffee making facility outside the room was very much appreciated. Free parking at the hotel. We very much liked the two restaurants close to the hotel recommended by the hotel reception. The centre of town was within 15-20 minutes walking distance.
Review 32:A bit of a hike from the downtown area but that's a nitpick
Review 33:Friendly staff, excellent breakfast including eggs made to order if wanted, modern, adequate free parking, wine tasting on site
Review 34:a bit distance from the city centre. but still walking distance across the bridge.
Review 35:Overall experience was very good. Staff, owners gave us personalised service. Someone looking for private, family comfort and complete relaxation should definitely stay with them.
Review 36:There was no lift and our room was on the second floor, not a poblem for us but would be a problem with elderly or people with mobility issues.
Review 37:Excellent value for money. The room was clean, the view we had was lovely looking across to the castle on the far bank of the mosel. At breakfast you were spoilt for choice with so much selection. The staff were friendly and spoke English which helped.
Review 38:The owner personally maintains a high quality of facility and service. Large bright clean room, plenty of towels, excellent breakfast, exceptional service.
Review 39:Some may find the stairs a bit steep. A safe in the room would be helpful.
Review 40:A bright, stylish and comfortable hotel with lots of attention given to detail. A refreshing change from the more 'traditional' hotels in the area. Rooms are spacious and with plenty of natural light. Breakfast is extensive and varied. There's a lovely, cosy bar. Staff are friendly and efficient. Extremely good value for money.
Review 41:It might have been helpful if on arrival we were asked if we needed a hand with our luggage bearing in mind there were no stairs. As it happens, we managed ok but others might appreciate some help.
Review 42:We liked everything about this hotel, a real quality establishment offering very good value for money. Reception was friendly and informative, our room on the second floor was excellent both in cleanliness and facilities, Breakfast was high quality with a good selection of items. What we particularly liked was that we were asked if we wanted scrambled or fried eggs (we had the former) which was freshly prepared for us. The fruit salad was also fresh, not out of a tin with syrup. Although busy, the hotel was quiet. During our three night stay, we never heard any noise apart from around 7.30 one morning when the emergency vehicle sirens came along a neighbouring street. The staff, who we think were the owning family, were very friendly, helpful and I feel sure that if there were a problem it would be attended to promptly. Most spoke very good English (including colloquilisms!). If we were ever in the area, we would have no hesitation returning. Although retired, we are still fit and so we did not mind that the hotel did not have a lift, something we knew when we booked. If anyone did have a mobility problem, then this is probably not the hotel for you.
Review 43:Space is limited in the room, suggest remove stuffs will give more room.
Review 44:Extremely nice area to stay, the manage(Ralph) is kind and helpful, good selection breakfast.
Review 45:Nothing

Review 98:We had a wonderful time at the hotel all staff were friendly and the choice of breakfast was amazing. The room and hotel was very clean. Location was fantastic for our needs. This is the second time l have stayed at the hotel and when l return to Bernkastel Kues we will be staying at the Bergblick Hotel in 2 years. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay a memorable again.
Review 99:Excellent service provided by all staff. The new wine bar was very nice place to visit after a short walk home from the city center. Good value for money
Review 100:The occupants of the room next to me insisted on taking long showers at 11pm on the two nights I stayed, which disturbed me due to the noise of the water running, just as I was going off to sleep!
Review 101:Great little hotel, with the man in charge being exceptionally helpful. Breakfasts were the best I had in the region and I was able to hire a bike directly from the hotel. My room (15) although facing the road with no view (they were full and I had only booked 48 hours before so not able to swap me to one with a view of the castle/ruins which was fair enough) was really lovely and I would both highly recommend and return to this hotel if I were in the region again! Thanks for making my stay pleasurable
Review 102:The staff makes you feel welcome and is very heldpful. The interior design of the hotel and the rooms is fresh and light. Single beds are narrow but good. A great choice of pastries, breads, fruits etc for breakfast makes Burgblickhotel very good value for money.
Review 103:The hotel has a great bar attached with lots of tasty local wines. Lovely for a little pre dinner drink. Breakfast has all the things you would expect and some. Very enjoyable. The staff are very welcoming.
Review 104:The hotel was a little out of the town and car parking was limited. The restaurant only offerred snacks.
Review 105:The staff were efficient and friendly and the hotel offerred good value for money
Review 106:Nothing - all excellent. This is what 3 star hotels should be like.
Review 107:Small boutique style hotel. Excellent service and great attention to detail. Good location, quiet, but easy walking distance to the river and tourist centre. Excellent breakfast. Wine tastings in the bistro / wine bar. Very well designed, trendy rooms (in the annex over the street). Free parking available.
Review 108:The location is very near the Mosel River and a 15 minute stroll along the river to the Old Market Square of Bernkastel-Kues. English speaking staff and very helpful. The Winestube is quaint and relaxing. A perfect hotel for a week long stay or just a weekend getaway.
Review 109:Do not stay here; this is the worst accommodation we have stayed in overa period of 17 weeks over the past 4 years in Europe. The room was smalland the balcony was a metal frame across the window, no view, and wrongside of town. The description indicated that the hotel was close to theriver – in reality 5 minutes’ walk up a steep hill. The room was noisyall night from trucks and farm machinery passing the window – justfrequently enough to keep you awake. The bed was hard, pillows, oneeach, just material with a minute amount of filling and heavy doonasgreat for a cold night but useless for warm nights (no blankets, sheetsor light doonas) To top all this off, the owner confronted my wifewhilst I was out demanding payment of Eu15 for 2 little packets of jubestaken from the cupboard outside our room which could be bought at Aldifor Eu3.39 Per kg. Over the past 4 years my partner and I have spent atotal of 17 weeks in Europe, staying at 49 different hotels/B &b’’S. Additionally in my business life I have stayed at a large numberof hotels in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Switzerland and NorthAmerica ranging from 5 star to a couple of caravan parks. I am alwaysmost welcome at all of these establishments. This hotel is the onlyestablishment where I have had any dispute
Review 110:Not so much 'didn't like', more aspects one would have to take into account when booking: unfortunately only limited eating options in the form of (heated) snacks. Location could be better; centre was about 15 minute walk away. No lift. Despite these points we had a very enjoyable and pleasant stay at the Burgblick.
Review 111:Clean, modern hotel; very friendly and helpful staff, English (well) spoken. Lovely view of the castle. Good breakfast. Good selection of wines in the winebar and knowledgable staff.
Review 112:No wi-fi in my room on the third floor. Was able to get wi-fi in thelobby/dining area, tho, which worked out fine. The manager told meit must be my computer. It was not, obviously, as I was able to getreception in the lobby.
Review 113:I thought the room and the bed were comfortable and the atmosphere inthe place was friendly.
Review 114:Taxi was very expensive but not fault of hotel as public transport is not regular to Bernkastel-kues which is a pity as it is a lovely area
Review 115:Breakfast was very good. Rooms were modern and clean very quiet and peaceful. Staff were friendly and organized taxi pick-up to and from the Hahn airport.
Review 116:A bright modern hotel with spacious rooms and modern fittings. It's about 10 mins walk from the center of Bernkastel and with free parking it's an ideal hotel if ou're visiting this area by car.
Review 117:The absence of a garden or balconies for relaxing and sun bathing. There was a small yard but it got limited sun. It was located about ten minute walk from the centre of the town and there was no view of the Mosel
Review 118:The establishment was clean and the staff welcoming. Our room was tastefully furnished with a modern theme and was light and airy and most important, the beds were comfortable. There was quite a good choice for breakfast.
Review 119:Parking. Unfortunately, parking is very tight and someone backed into our rental car but left the scene. I'm now dealing with the rental car company regarding paying for the damages.
Review 120:Great breakfast. Eggs cooked to order. Full meal. Room is modern, entire facilty is modern and clean. Host suggested wines and we had some with our cheese and bread we bought earlier. Lovely evening.
