Reviews for Hotel Binz

Review 1:The only downside (if it can be called that) was that we had a fridge available for cold drinks but didn't have a kettle if we wanted something hot, nothing major and we made do and didn't ask for one, but it might have been an added touch.

Review 2:The staff were friendly and the hotel perfect for our needs. The room was comfortable and the sitting room and balcony were great too. Breakfast saw a traditional continental style with lots to choose from.

Review 3:There was no shampoo and we'd forgotten to bring some. Also the coffee at breakfast was a little weak.

Review 4:The staff was wonderfully friendly and helpful. They were making cinnamon cookies when we arrived and immediately offered me one. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was extensive, fresh and delicious.

Review 5:Friendly and English speaking staff. We felt very much at home. our three teenagers slept in the penthouse appartment which was super. We, two couples, had two comfort rooms, which were big and homely. We used the penthouse sitting room as family room. From the outside the building is nothing special but once inside we felt home away from home. Nice breakfast in cosy dining room. Located at the entrance of the lovely pittoresque village.

Review 6:would have preferred tea making facilities in room, and the choice of bacon etc. Although the breakfast spread was very well catered for (lots of selection )

Review 7:The staff were very good and helpful, the hotel was very clean and tidy.

Review 8:At night some (drunk?) people might pass by the hotel, not in a very quiet fashion.... Fortunately this did not cost us any sleep.

Review 9:Very nice and clean hotel, best breakfast ever! Location is p.e.r.f.e.c.t. Parking is a bit futher away, but in a closed, private garage.

Review 10:An absolutely perfect location - with an address of "Markt 1" you are effectively in the central market square of Bernkastel. Car parking nearby was (close and cheap). We would happily stay there again.

Review 11:The Bells from the church next door ( and they are big bells) went offevery 15 minutes. Throughout the night !! Hardly slept a wink. How andwhy these bells are allowed to do this we could not find out.

Review 12:Location fantastic for access to town but also right next to a Churchwhich caused a problem. The Hotel was closed from 5pm and so nofacilities available such as bar or restaurant. Loads in town thoughwhich is practically 10 steps out of the front door.

Review 13:Excellent location for Bernkastel town centre Staff very helpful, room was spacious and spotless, wonderful breakfasts. Free garaging given for our motorbike - wunderbar!

Review 14:Our bedroom was right next door to the church and the bells started loudly at 6am and then every quarter hour so dod into have a good nights sleep.

Review 15:Central location, ease of access and parking provided close band could park car outside of hotel to unload and loaded then go to park. The excellent breakfast and good understanding of English

Review 16:The only drawback was the church bells that rang all night. My parents were on the second floor and didn't mind them.

Review 17:The staff were very helpful and willing to please. The location was great as far as being in the town itself and parking was fine. We stayed in the penthouse with two bedrooms and a large living room. Everything was so clean and comfortable. Breakfast was the absolute best we had on our trip. Highly recommend this hotel.

Review 18:We loved everything about this hotel! The staff is fantastic! The breakfast is very good! Pet friendly! We will be staying here whenever we come back for a visit!

Review 19:Only issue is they could get better pillows.

Review 20:Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good with a good selection. Once again the location was perfect to visit the Mosel Valley.

Review 21:Location is fabulous and it appears newly renovated. Wi-fi available. Excellent breakfast. Attentive and friendly staff. Do not linger too long outside with car or you might get a ticket. Recommend parking nearby. Lovely town

Review 22:No complaints at all

Review 23:We were greeted by a lovely women who was extremely friendly and wanting to make sure we had everything we needed. Great breakfast, comfortable, clean and perfect location.

Review 24:The only thing to be aware of is that there is no elevator. We were on a top floor and had heavy luggage. However, I'm sure staff would have gotten suitcases up there if needed.

Review 25:Staff was fabulous. We needed to ask for help on several matters and they were always very responsive. Location is perfect. We would definitely return if we were headed back to Bernkastle.

Review 26:Nothing major. We hope to go back.

Review 27:Great location in the heart of the old town. Welcoming and helpful staff. Comfortable beds and very good breakfasts. A bit noisy as next to church with church bells. We stayed in the Penthouse which meant a lot of stairs to climb but it was worth it as spacious and gave privacy to our group of three friends

Review 28:Hotel gives appearance of having outside cafe and place to have drinks but hotel closed and locked front doors after 1200hrs. Had to use back alleyway to get back inside hotel. Church bells, right next to hotel, ring every 15 min and loudly on the hour. Bring earplugs...really helped!

Review 29:Location - Center of Markt area and river area. Very clean, friendly staff, good breakfast. Room had nice bed, sitting room and balcony although view was limited and a very mini-fridge. Would stay again if we go to Bernkastel. Parking a little far away but good for cost.

Review 30:Near church so hourly bells thru night.. No elevator but just a small nuisance for Trekkers like us... But not so good for older folks. Wireless didn't reach the top floor apartment.

Review 31:Location, facilities in hotel, breakfast was great. Nice lady at reception. Lots of space in top floor apt... 2 bdrm and living area ... Small fridg. ...

Review 32:Simply a great facility in a wonderful location

Review 33:Deluxe room had a lovely shower and bath.

Review 34:it was a bit difficult to locate using GPS.

Review 35:Wonderful location and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious!

Review 36:room was samll up four floors, was not greeted well, could not take credit or debit cards

Review 37:location was good, breakfast was also good

Review 38:Fantastic location, good bike storage, lovely staff, lovely room, excellent breakfast

Review 39:Good location, convenient nearby parking, clean room, friendly staff,

Review 40:Location, friendliness and cleanliness

Review 41:Kerkklokken is even wennen.

Review 42:Midden centrum en auto in parkeer garage.

Review 43:no reception on duty after 12am

Review 44:excellent location

Review 45:It was very hot and there was only one very small fan to be provided.

Review 46:Right in the heart of the town.

Review 47:Although loved location, it could be quite noisy with the church nearby.

Review 48:Location and cleanliness

Review 49:Nothing

Review 50:Location rooms and breakfast

Review 51:Great location. Lovely breakfast

Review 52:Location and value for money

Review 53:Great location and comfortable room.

Review 54:All of it

Review 55:Breakfast was sufficient but could have been better.

Review 56:The staff was very friendly. Parking was near by and inexpensive.

Review 57:Very pleasant staff, perfect breakfast and location!!! +++++

Review 58:Great location, friendly staff. Checked in late but staff waited for us. Small, quiet town.

Review 59:Clocks for the church very close, 10 meters, from the hotel. The have been making noise all night.

Review 60:a lift would be nice

Review 61:location and cleanliness

Review 62:Wonderfull two room hotel room in the center of the town. Very good breakfast.

Review 63:There was no elevator.

Review 64:Church bells next door, lack of an elevator (had to climb 4 flights of stairs)

Review 65:The breakfast, staff and location

Review 66:Outstanding location. Nice facilities. Attentive, helpful, & friendly staff. We would highly recommend.

Review 67:Lovely hotel, nice rooms and couldn't ask for a better location! Staff were friendly, breakfast was good.

Review 68:Churchbell ringing in the morning

Review 69:Nice staff, good breakfast, central location.

Review 70:They need to get aircon badly !

Review 71:The hotel is located right in the touristy district, Where you can get lots of food , ice cream and traditional German food .The hotel is nice and clean and the Rooms were spotless and nicely furnished . It was a 36 day and the room has no air con so we were so so hot we had to keep having cold showers . The outside noise is loud and the church bell at a nearby church went off every hour even throughout the night , finally we were woken at 5 am by a duck quacking at the window . The breakfast is nice and great that it is included .

Review 72:We were the only guests. We were given keys and instructed to come and go through the back door. The parking was in a sectioned area of the large parking lot by the water. It was not clear how to get to the hotel, as the street was blocked to car traffic. We had to park at the river, walk to the hotel, and get instructions to drive up to the front of the hotel through the blockade to unload our luggage, and then return the car to the parking lot. The restaurant in the hotel no longer exists due to low customer volume. There were only two restaurants open in the town during the evening (although the food was good). There was no elevator, so we had to bring our luggage up two flights to our room. None of these issues were bad, and we would definitely stay here again.

Review 73:The hotel is right in the heart of the town. The breakfast was an incredible spread of delicious food. The room was nice and bedding was great. Staff were pleasant and accommodating, even though they did not speak English. Parking was available for a small extra fee. The room was very quiet and there was no road traffic at night. Candies and water were provided in the room. The hotel was everything we had expected it to be.

Review 74:It may be a difficult hotel for people with reduced mobility as there is no lift.

Review 75:The penthouse flat with 2 bedrooms was perfect and spacy for our group of 3 people. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast was very good as well.

Review 76:Unless you specified the time you'd bd arriving at, no reception would be vacant so we were unable to ask for advice outside of the usual check in hours.

Review 77:The staff member upon arrival spoke no English, no information given about our key only working on the back entrance which we didn't know existed. We found ourselves locked out standing on the street in the afternoon after parking our car with no-one answering the doorbell or 3 phonecalls, only an answering machine. The apartment was on the 5th floor, no lift so needed to carry our luggage up. Would have been helpful if such information was given before booking. Our apartment was directly under the church bells which rang every 15 mins so sleeping was difficult.

Review 78:The apartment was nicely renovated. The breakfast was good. The staff member in the morning could speak English.

Review 79:Since there is no elevator, going up the stairs with your suitcases can be quite an adventure. Although I must say that only having stairs did add to the charismatic feeling of the hotel.

Review 80:Very small and basic hotel, but very pretty and inviting. Room was perfect. Very nice staff, good breakfast, in the center of Bernkastel. Would definitely go there again.

Review 81:Not much to criticize, except the cooking smell persisting through the hallways and from time to time entering the room.

Review 82:Excellent service with our late arrival and very early departure, assistance with booking taxis etc. Very helpful manager, Mrs. Binz..

Review 83:Can't think of a thing I wasn't satisfied with.

Review 84:We really enjoyed staying in this hotel for our romantic evening away!We had everything we needed and the location can not be beat! Breakfastwas great and I liked being served the typical German fare. The staffwas very accommodating! We were not able to get a parking space in thehotel's reserved spots but we parked at a local garage without anyissue. Upon departure, my husband pulled up to the hotel in thepedestrian zone to load so that wasn't a hassle for us. Wifi alsoworked without any issues.

Review 85:We were on the third floor without a lift. The church next to our window rang a bell every 15 minutes, and on the hour.

Review 86:Staff was great. Hotel was clean. Good bathroom. Good breakfast. Great location right in the center of town.

Review 87:The instructions should have explained that one needed to drive in a pedestrian area to unload at the hotel

Review 88:location in the charming centre of Berkastel; high level of comfort

Review 89:That plaza-facing rooms will be noisy on weekends with the windows open will be a fact, thanks to the obnoxious basement bar patrons from across the street, exiting until 2-3 a.m.

Review 90:Location is great, staff is friendly, rooms are spacious, the town and natural setting is beautiful, and you can taste world class wines.

Review 91:The church bells ring every hour, also during the night. The mattrass was too soft for us!

Review 92:Excellent location in town centre, but right near very active church bells. Very friendly staff: we could park the car at 5€ (parking card) for 4 days on a public parking place while their private parking was full; we could also put our bicycles in the hotel's cellar for free. Nice breakfast.

Review 93:On noisy main street if window opened, needed ceiling fan, knobs loose in bathroom, shower body sprays not adjustable.

Review 94:Location, room, bathroom, bed, tv, free WiFi, included breakfast

Review 95:being a single traveller the church bells did not bother me i quite liked them telling me the time in the night, but for a family it could be off putting

Review 96:the staff was excellent, food very good great location, rooms very clean, nice toilet and shower

Review 97:No lift if on upper floor, beds a little soft and room a little too bright and warm at night for our tastes

Review 98:Staff were extremely friendly and accomodating, especially with our young son Location was great, breakfast was good and good value. Deluxe Room was of good size, with small terrace, separate seating area and a powerful shower

Review 99:Terrific location inside the old city, just 50ft from the beautiful city square. Rooms clean and comfortable, and breakfasts were very nice. Definitely recommended.

Review 100:Bed was soft and in need of replacement.

Review 101:Location in the town is excellent, next to the main square. The hotelhas a few reserved parking spaces on the town's main parking. Thisis 200m from the hotel. Staff at reception was very friendly. Room 03was spacious, clean and with a small but modern and above all cleanbathroom. Breakfast buffet is small but good and has everything you needfor a continental breakfast. We didn't mind the church bell unlike some people in other reviews. All towns near the Mosel and Rhine have one or more churches so a long, loud peal is typical.

Review 102:Climbing 50+ steps with a heavy case! We were on the top floor with no lift. Too far to carry a 20 kg case!

Review 103:Great position in the old part of town.

Review 104:Breakfast maybe overpriced

Review 105:Difficult to fault.

Review 106:Diffcult to park and unload on a walking street.

Review 107:location

Review 108:On third floor but no lift Church bell chimed every quarter hour through the night!!

Review 109:Location,Owner

Review 110:Church bells 24/7

Review 111:Central location to activities and services

Review 112:Booking in before 17.30. If you arrive late.

Review 113:Central location, no need to for a car once parked up. Fabulous location in town

Review 114:no lift .No help with luggage

Review 115:good value for money.

Review 116:No elevator. I was on the third floor and had to carry my suitcase up 4 flights.

Review 117:Excellent location.

Review 118:Front desk closed at 5 pm so we had to call for a key.

Review 119:Room was large and well appointed. Breakfast was great.

Review 120:The church bells rang the quarters 24 hrs a day. Rang the hours 24 hrs a day.

Review 121:Very nice and accommodating staff. Also a great breakfast.
