Reviews for Takis House
Review 1:No wifi. no hot water. the swimming pool is actually in another house and there's no reception (the reception is in differrent village. we checked out 2 nights befor scheduled
Review 2:Traditional Cypriot house was nicely decorated and it had a very good ambient. house is fully equipped, nothing has left behind during the decoration. People were very kind and friendly. it is situated in a good location.
Review 3:It is an excelent choice for a calm and peaceful holiday in a traditional Cypriot village. People are very open and helpful. Governor's Beach is wonderful!
Review 4:Someone has a dog in the village that non-stop barks from dusk till dawn all to be heard with windows open. Perhaps the neighbour could be kinder to the animal?
Review 5:The accommodation was lovely, the space well considered and decoration pleasing in traditional style. The swimming pool was of good size to swim and chlorine not very strong, the flowers are lovely, happy days x
Review 6:not really a negative, but there is no internet facilities..( which was a blessing ).
Review 7:The rustic charm of the apartment. Peaceful surroundings. Very helpful staff
Review 8:The property is literally right next door to the.village centre and best local restaurant in town. Local food and wine right next door. Access to village pool great - even though its 5-minute walk away.
Review 9:not for people who like fancy shining places
Review 10:nice village nice tavernas arroud very good taverna (retro tavern) very near by Authentic very good location for traveling in the island
Review 11:The beds in the room next to the front door were uncomfortable. The sheets were skimpy. The layout of the house is problematic, since one has to go through a bedroom to get to the kitchen. There were many silverfish inside, including on the bedding and there were tiny aunts on the terrace. It would have been helpful if there dish soap was provided to wash breakfast cups and perhaps a sponge. The nearest ATM was about 2 miles away in Zygy. Without a car this house would be difficult. Overall, it is a dark house, except for the small terrace on the second floor.
Review 12:The village (although the restaurants were limited and they were not good cooks). The beauty and cleanliness of the town. Everyone was helpful and friendly. The lovely bouganvillea-draped upper provided terace. The large courtyard a real sense of privacy. I would have been scared to stay there alone since it is like a cave.
Review 13:Situated in a perfect position for getting around the village
Review 14:the pressure and the temperature of the water wasn't good .the wifi was not working .
Review 15:very nice decorated house. very cozy . pet friendly
Review 16:Mouse around the roof and a lot of ants. They touched everything.
Review 17:Big with enough space for kids.
Review 18:Location. Village. Village locals all friendly.
Review 19:The house was not that clean when we checked-in. We felt disturbed when we had to pay extra fee for the air condition. We had a reservation for one house (4 people) and they split us in two houses without asking.
Review 20:We liked the design of the house.
Review 21:1. Directions to Tackis 2 from Tochni reception were confusing. 2. We were not escourted to the property as we were told we would be. 3. We were told the property would be open - it was locked and it took us 1& 3/4 hours to get access to it. 4. There was no light bulb in the bathroom. 5. There was no mosquito protection provided - the information file in the propert said this was supplied. 6. There was no light switch for the upstairs "bed room". 7. The top sheet on the upstairs bed was 2 singles instead of a double - not comfortable!
Review 22:Its location
Review 23:November is off season for them and we obviously caught them off guard. The main problem seems to be that they are not a guest house: they arepart of a large chain of rented houses called "Cyprus Villages" and as aresult there was no staffed reception area. We arrived in the centralvillage square, went to the place, and it was entirely void of people. Two hours and several phone calls later, some really polite and helpfulpeople called Mariana and Paul managed to reach us and hand us a key toget into our room. The room was clean but people had forgotten stuff inthe room (such as two random delapidated pc computers). This isobviously not going to happen every time, we caught them in a bad day, however beware: the booking.com description is slightly misleading: thisis not exactly a full-year guest house, you're suppose to go elsewhere(don't ask me where) to pick up the keys first. The people of Kalabasoswere outstandingly kind and helpful, we spent 2 pleasant hours in thecentral plaza being treated coffee and stories about the area, while ourroom key was being delivered to us.
Review 24:The idea of living in renovated traditional houses in Cypriot villagesis great. The indoor rustic decor, with the wooden beams and stone wallswas great.
Review 25:We felt pushed out the day we were leaving by the cleaner coming round just after 10.00am when we were about to have breakfast and asking what time we would be departing. Check out was at 12.00! The roads in and around the village square are currently being dug up which is a shame - hopefully they will hurry up and finish this as can imagine it is a lovely square area to sit and relax in but not in its current state!
Review 26:The apartment we booked was lovely and spacious and we had our own little courtyard with an outside seating area which was nice and private which we very happy with as we had our dog with us. It was much better than expected. The apartment itself was lovely and cool even without the air conditioning on which is great when it is so hot outside. The place was clean and tidy and had everything we needed. It was nice to have the option to use the pool area which was only 2 minutes walk away and looked well maintained - we didn't use this as we went to the beach instead but would use it next time. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely go again!
Review 27:The ants were every where even some times on the bed, light does notwork, the village center where under construction and I have to travelto different village to get the keys
Review 28:I like it's old style and the location
Review 29:There was some renovation next door but one although no noise fromit. The centre by the coffee shop was all being re-done and we werenot told about it, but it was ok. The whole road and square is goingto be relaid, but we got through the mud no problem, it was fine andwould go again.
Review 30:We chose it because it was a traditional stone built cypriot housewith all the trimmings. Very comfortable indeed. Loved the location ofthe property.
Review 31:No wifi
