Reviews for Imago Hotel & Spa

Review 1:It was overpriced. When booking it appeared to be a great deal but in fact was not at all. The standard room was very average. No kettle (so easy to include a kettle). Away from the town and it was a pain to get back and forth. They recommended RentACar to us - bad idea - their tyre blew and we had to pay - they waited until all customers had gone before they told us. They don't allow you to pay extra to decrease excess. Go to Hertz. Next time we would stay closer to the town. Customer service was ordinary. Disappointed

Review 2:It was rated as a 5 start hotel so it did have nice decor.

Review 3:This was our last day before departing Argentina. Staff was very accommodating in letting us check out late, so we could squeeze in horseback ride the last day & clean up before heading to the airport. Hotel itself was beautiful, upscale, nice rooms, comfortable beds. One downside was that it was far from town, but they did run a free shuttle every couple hours.

Review 4:The guests tend to be quite self-centered with little regard for other any other guests - monopolize the pool area and push through the queue to get on to the often inadequate transit to town

Review 5:Beautiful view Great buffet breakfast (the fracturas and medialunas are the best in Argentina! Compliments to the chef) Nice facilities Staff is friendly and helpful

Review 6:no tea/coffee in room no slippers in the room terrible breakfast

Review 7:lovely views staff friendly lovely pool area

Review 8:Staff seemed not fully trained at times. This is not a 5 stars hotel ( a good 4 stars) A bit of maintenance needed

Review 9:Location

Review 10:Good spa and nice looking hotel. Could be amazing just slightly unpolished. A 4* in my opinion.

Review 11:excellent room quality, all services perfect

Review 12:Heated pool. Large comfortable room. Complete breakfast.

Review 13:Not in the center of the town but in a quite lakefront location. Served by a courtesy shuttle.

Review 14:The room was far too hot. We opened the window during the night but it made little difference. Staff advised that they could not do anything about it due to the heating being centrally controlled. As a result we did not sleep well and our visit suffered.

Review 15:The view of the lake

Review 16:Did not like the fact that the front line reception staff write down details of customer credit card information including security code on the reverse which is extremely disconcerting and very bad practice.

Review 17:Location was good

Review 18:Overall, this was a pleasant hotel but is not even remotely a "luxury" hotel - it's more like a Hampton Inn - nice but nothing fancy. Some issues: 1. Hotel was too far to walk to the charming downtown and although they have a free shuttle, it doesn't run between 11:30 and 2:30. Also, one evening there were too many people for the van/bus to hold , who stood around freezing while waiting. 2. The "gym" doesn't open until noon, so if you want to work out early - forget it, you can't. The computer network (server, not wifi) was down for nearly 2 days and when it was working it was frequently as slow as dial-up. When we checked in, one of the 2 provided drinking glasses was dirty. Also, we had to ask for toilet paper twice because they didn't leave an extra one after the first day. Finally, there was an exchange rate issue. The hotel said their rate was 4 pesos/dollar, even though the official rate is 6.25 - and when I went to buy a coffee right after we arrived, the woman at the bar told me it was 3 pesos/dollar - I don't think they were trying to rip us off, I think they just didn't know how to convert it - which they SHOULD if they were handling money on a regular basis. Whenever we brought up any issue the staff was helpful and accommodating, but for a so-called luxury hotel, these things shouldn't even have arisen.

Review 19:Staff was very nice and helpful. Property was clean.

Review 20:truly a 1st class hotel with lots of amenities to choose from, very clean & comfortable rooms, nicely designed; sumptuous breakfast, attentive and friendly staff

Review 21:Housekeeping could be improved.

Review 22:Great hotel with friendly staff and free shuttle to centro make this the ideal base for enjoying El Calafate.

Review 23:The room was quite good. The hotel is a bit far from the town center but there is a free shuttle almost every hour.

Review 24:Nothing.

Review 25:Excellent accommodations. Very nice indoor pool. Great breakfast. Very helpful staff.

Review 26:Distance from centre
