Reviews for Berghotel Wintersberg

Review 1:The Restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, which we have not noticed while booking. Its a long way to town and difficult to find somewhere to eat on Monday evening. The planned nice dinner with a bottle of wine did not happen because someone had to drive,

Review 2:Nice views over the valley

Review 5:The rooms are simple, yet sufficient. Beds and pillows are not the most comfortable.

Review 6:Food and wine, ask for wine recommendations. View is fantastic.

Review 7:Away from all the hustle and bustle up in the woods. The owner was very friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. We had a beautiful large light and airy room with a balcony overlooking the valley. The food was good and breakfast was lovely. The homemade cakes were yummy! I wish we had booked for longer as we didn't want to leave!

Review 8:Furnished and decorated in a somewhat outdated seventies style. No sign of recent investments.

Review 9:Nicely located high above the Lahn River next to a restored Roman Limes tower. Pleasant hotel.

Review 10:Sat Nav takes you to the wrong place - there should be clearer instructions on how to get there as it is in quite a remote spot.

Review 11:Owners were very friendly and spoke good English. Location is brilliant.. Terrific breakfast. We had one evening meal there - excellent wild boar. Bad Ems is a beautiful town.

Review 12:Rooms look very old, so does everything in the hotel. like in 70's. not clean, dirty plates, knives, cups, even found 2 hairs in my food. walk to the city takes around 25min, way back is a heavy climbing and not so easy

Review 13:The view Friendly people Breakfast

Review 14:The room was spacious and very nicely decorated. We had a balcony with a tremendous view. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious.

Review 20:For the first time the place was not so easy to find, also by GPS.

Review 21:Amazing location. Breathtaking view over the river. Fantastic fresh air. Clean and very spacious rooms. Good breakfast with boiled egg, cheese and meat selection as well as healthy kwark and yogurt with fresh fruit. Tasty homemade jam. In the evening the restaurant offers great authentic food, probably the best we've found in the town. Spa resort is at 5 minutes drive. All in all - relaxing atmosphere, close to nature. Friendly owners. Definitely worth coming back.

Review 22:Barely usable internet, no international channels on TV, time to change those old CRT TV's with flat screens! It will make the rooms look much better.

Review 23:beautiful building, Friendly Owner, Incredible Location, Very good food at the restaurant, local produce and home made food, lovely breakfast, large room cool dog! 100% Worth a visit.

Review 24:Nothing

Review 25:Nice and friendly staff! Friendly welcome (with a beautiful and loving dog) and family environment surrounded by nature. Along the border of the Roman Empire (limes), with lookout tower!

Review 26:The Wi-Fi connection provided by the hotel was not working, but we had a mobile internet.

Review 27:Extremely friendly staff, excellent food, grate view. We liked it very much.

Review 28:Couldn't get the wifi to connect but this was not a major problem.

Review 29:The restaurant was excellent for dinner and the view from the terasse was great. Our host was friendly and fun without being intrusive. The rooms have been recently updated. The breakfast was one of the best we have had. Small family run hotels in Germany we have found to be consistently good but this one was particularly so.
