Review 1：This hotel was lovely and clean, the food served was fantastic and to just die for! The staff were exceptional and very helpful, the location is absolutely fabulous with easy reach of all the local mountains.

Review 2：The personel was a bit stiff, Esp. at the breakfast table. A smile was nowhere to be found... Which is unusual for Germany.

Review 3：A great stay! After 5 days on top of the mountains in snow and with a huge bagpack of 17 kg it was a great pleasure to enjoy the sauna and a shower. Breakfast was suberb, the rooms nice in size and with a closed balcony.

Review 4：The hotel is located in the town centre, which is pedestrianized. That's good, but it also means that truck traffic roars through from the early hours and often delivery vans and trucks park right under the window, big diesel engines clattering away, as trolleys laden with bottles come crashing into and out of the trucks! Parking is not free. And the Oberstdofer card is not valid for cable cars, as it is in some other hotels.

Review 5：We spent three nights at Lowen Strauss. It's a charming property owned by Peter Srauss who is also the chef. The breakfast is excellent, fresh eggs made to taste and honey from the comb! Very centrally located with a good restaurant. As we left, Peter handed us a bottle of white wine from his own Rhineland vineyard! By mistake we left some valuables in the safe and he arranged to have the pouch mailed to us. Very nice!

Review 6：Curtains in the rooms are very light material in light beige. Sun and privacy shade but offer very little nighttime darkening.

Review 8：Wifi access not great in our room but fine in other parts of the hotel. Also, the room was a little warm but it was scorching outside.

Review 9：Great customer service from the moment we walked in. We received an upgrade to a junior suite, which was lovely. We ate in the restaurant (not the Michelin star one) on the first evening and were not disappointed. Breakfast was a delight too. This hotel is in a great location just 100m or so from the church. Highly recommended.

Review 11：According to hotel staff, there was a problem with the booking.com reservation, they only received the booking the morning of and had no rooms left. They put us in a nicer room the first night (good) but then moved us to another hotel 20m away which was still nice but not as nice as the hotel (bad). Considering the hotel was fairly expensive, felt like we had to deal with a lot of hassle for something we reserved at least a month in advance. The hotel itself is very nice though, although I can't say for sure whether it was booking.com or the hotels fault with the mix-up.

Review 13：It is one or even the best Hotel in Oberstdorf. A bit more expensive but an amzing stay in very cozy room and a very passionate staff. Free and fast wifi makes an additinal comfort to check weather in the morning and in case work is calling to not spend too much time with stuff that should not take long during your vacation. The glass shaded balkony which is a personal winter garden to keep your wet things and fruits out of the room is great too.

Review 16：On checking out, one young lady was a little abrupt when there was amisunderstanding due to language problems. I speak reasonable German butshe wasn't very tolerant. However, the problem was resolved when wewere passed on to another member of staff who took our payment.

Review 17：Mainly very pleasant staff; we were given a warm welcome and shownto our room.The room was extremely nice - modern, comfortable, and had a balcony. The breakfast buffet offered a good choice of food. The hotel has a very typical Bavarian theme, fitting with the area.

Review 40：It is a beautiful hotel with luxurious touches in the "suites" we were in. (The "suite" was just one large room with sparse, but comfortable furnishing. A couch would have helped.)
