Reviews for Hotel Drei Könige

Review 1:A wider choice for vegetarians at breakfast.

Review 2:We have stayed at this hotel twice before and were happy to be back. The room with a balcony was superb, we enjoyed sitting in the sun and looking at the Mosel. The bed was very comfortable and the bathrooms have been refurbished. We'll be back.

Review 3:At the time temperatures were in the mid 30's. Room had no air conditioning which would have been beneficial in this circumstance.

Review 4:Nice Hotel well situated, room excellent. We had a 3rd floor corner room which gave an excellent view of the Mosel. As a person who requires a Gluten Free diet, GF Bread rolls were provided at breakfast time. Other items were also available. Also if travelling by car, important to pre-book car park space, as spaces limited.

Review 5:Hotel is absolutely value for money. Prime location and very clean. Staff were very friendly. It is a 3-star hotel, so don't expect lavish bedrooms and bathrooms etc. but it is good value for money and I can recommend the hotel.

Review 6:The view on the Moselle from our hotel balcony was oustanding. The hotel is located very close to the village of Bernkasel just the bridge to across. Good value for the price and staff very pleasant. Breakfast was include in the price as well. We will be back again for sure.

Review 7:Hotel did look nice from outside and in the pictures, but from inside it was very outdated. Even them lobby and elevator looked (and smelled) like it hadn't been renovated for 40 years. It wasn't totally bad, but for the price we paid for it, most expensive hotel of our trip, it was a disappointment.

Review 8:View was very nice, rooms were clean, WLAN did work from our room, breakfast was ok, even hotel garage was full I was able to purchase city-parking-permit (for few euros per night) from the reception.

Review 9:The weather was very hot and there was no airco.

Review 10:The situation of the hotel, some rooms have a balcony with views of the river Moselle and the castle ruins of Burg Landshut. The Centre of Bernkastel-Kues is a 5-minute walk away.

Review 11:Only the weather was bad.

Review 12:Nice room with balcony, room ready upon arrival, partly closed parking, at no cost at the time. Early check out possible, with early breakfast. Good German breakfast included in room Price.

Review 13:Wifi was not accessible in the room

Review 14:Furniture and carpets are a little old

Review 15:The view and the suroundings

Review 16:Nothing

Review 17:Great location. Excellent breakfast

Review 18:We had a great view of the Moselle and castle above.

Review 19:Wi Fi only worked by the front desk

Review 20:nothing

Review 21:location

Review 22:A bit old-fashioned (the hotel is old!). Full-floor carpet.

Review 23:Massive building in the city center and just on the Mosel river.

Review 24:Nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our stay was perfect!

Review 25:Excellent location, across the bridge from the old centre. Modernised room had a view of the river and castle and a small balcony to enjoy it. Parking on site. Good breakfast. Helpful staff. This hotel far exceeded our expectations of it. We would stay again!!!!

Review 26:There were many nude/artistic paintings on the walls of the Hotel and I enjoyed them artistically. However since the Hotel interior is rather dark, the overall mysterious (David Lynch-ish) feeling does not match the rest of Bernkastel or Moselle Valley's traditional atmosphere. Yet of course this is my quite personal interpretation. However there were more important things we were not happy with. First of all, we arrived at the hotel around 8 pm, and we were told that WE SHOULD HAVE CALLED IF WE WERE TO ARRIVE AFTER 6 PM. I write that in capital letters so that booking.com readers are well aware. They also noted that this rule is mentioned on our booking.com reservation, and they were correct, however we had never noticed before. We were told we were lucky that our room was not given to someone else. Now, as much as I respect Hotel's policy, I do not see why and how they could have given our room to someone else because we had not called in (and they had not called us) and possible they would have charged our credit card for the first night. I found that rather harsh. Also, booking.com warning did not mention possibility of cancellation if we had not called. So it was a rather cold welcome from the Hotel.Don't bother with the wifi either - it barely, barely works at the reception area and was not even listed in our room (3rd floor). This was a pity. Also, it was rather chilly and we turned on the heater, however it made so much noise that we had to bring it down. Also, it never managed to heat the entire radiator. Finally, there are no English language channels on the TV at all. I actually watched Godfather in German, which was a boring experience.I'm actually ok with everything above, and I don't think any of this is too essential. However I have to make a serious note about the fact that some of our towels were not very clean when we arrived. That was a pity.

Review 27:The location is excellent. Actually the Hotel building itself is THE view for the rest of Bernkastel-Kues. Our room was big, very big, maybe 30-35 sqm. We even had a sofa. Breakfast was ok, however quite standard, as in the rest of Europe.

Review 28:Artwork on the floor of our room (30 series rooms) was...um...disturbing. Very odd nudity paintings...I didn't like seeing them and definitely wouldn't want kids to see those. (note: I like the paintings by the breakfast room and didn't see the artwork on other floors, so those may be better)

Review 29:Location and views on Mosel are wonderful. Nice quaint hotel rooms and nice staff.

Review 30:creaking wooden floors but I guess this is the downside of every hotel with a bit of history.

Review 31:The view directly on the bridge, the vineyards, the city center. The location is quite nice. The breakfast is fine and the staff is friendly enough. The hotel itself looks a bit old but it is clean.

Review 32:The bath was a little too high so watch out when you are stepping down from it or you will slip. But really thats it

Review 33:The best location right on the bridge. Friendly staff and good breakfast. we had the best room with the Mosel right under us (try to book room 55) with two windows. A bit pricier than the rest but worth it.

Review 34:Excellent location and staff was very friendly. We traveled with a large dog and the staff and room was very accommodating. An excellent stay and the Mosel River is a wonderful place to spend a weekend.

Review 35:The art. The entire hotel is decorated with non-professional abstract-modern paintings from the 80-90's. The painting are just horrible.

Review 36:Elegant old building, well maintained [good lighting, plumbing, and heating] built in the year 1900.

Review 37:The only negative was that there was no wifi internet in our room, although I believe you could pick up a signal in the reception area. Not a big deal for our short stay but would have been inconvenient if we were staying longer.

Review 38:The hotel was very nice overall. Our room (#35) was enormous and had views across the river to the old town, up to the old castle and down river. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and the breakfast was good. Would happily stay again if in the area.

Review 39:No evening meals on offer but plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance.

Review 40:Ideally situated at the other end of the bridge to the old town. Rooms with a view or balcony are ideal. Car parking is on site and is locked down at night - secure but prohibits car movements at night. Breakfast had a reasonable selection.

Review 41:Apartment was very cold. Heating is not working. it was totally disabled. First nights was pretty cold.

Review 42:We were on Hotel Drei Könige apartment. It is middle of old bernkastel. Location, Location, Location...3 m to nearist winestube:)

Review 43:The art work on the walls was a little strange and hard to explain to a 12 year old. Not for a conservative family...

Review 44:Perfect location for a little wine tasting on the Mosel River. The breakfast was nice for a European breakfast, had a good selection of bread as well as "REAL" scrambled eggs. The staff were friendly and helpful and spoke a little English.

Review 45:Internet wifi was available but not available in the hotel room, only ata central desk. There was no shelf to place suitcases.

Review 46:The location was great. The room was spacious. The breakfast(included) was good.

Review 47:When I was there at least, the hotel itself did not have a restaurant orbar open for dinner or drinks.... However, a 5 minute walk accross thebridge (then to the left) will take you to a restaurant calledMoselblumchen which has an excellent kitchen, excellent staff and isn'texpensive at all.

Review 48:A large hotel with a beautiful interior, large marble staircase, elevator (quite small though) and private parking. Choose the right roomand you will have an excellent view (high up) of the old city ofBernkastel, the bridge and to the right the castle on top of themountain. Excellent staff, very helpful with tips, advice anddirections. Very nice breakfast buffet. Two rooms have a large terrace(14 and 15 : I had 14, the largest :-) ), my room (in itself alreadyquite large) had a large bathroom and everything was very clean !Definitely recommended by me !

Review 49:noisey along river at night. very small bathroom.

Review 50:Good value for money .. super location.

Review 51:the hotel had no staff on duty after 9pm . It was advised not to use the lift after 9pm because no helpwas avalable

Review 52:Everything was good or above.

Review 53:Excellent location on the Mosel bank. A spacy room with a balcony towards Mosel. Good breakfast. We enjoyed a lot.
