Reviews for Bond Place Hotel

Review 1:The location, cleanliness and quality of our room (1006), the friendly staff, the competitive price. Check in and check out we're quick, easy and very friendly. We have stayed there twice and we choose this hotel as our "go to" favourite. We are from Windsor, ON and we travel to Toronto 3-5 times a year to either go shopping or take in a play at the Ed Mirvish, Massey Hall or any of the fine theatres in Toronto. We always choose Bond Place as our #1 choice. Thanks again!

Review 2:They've redone the hotel to try to be a bit more classy, but small things are disappointing (sliding bathroom doors are *very* noisy, poor quality toilet paper, inability to confirm special requests ahead of time).

Review 3:The rooms were tidy and comfortable. Simple but good.

Review 4:Experience was good, but the reviews saying the trams made noise at night were true. It didn't bother us.

Review 5:Loved the location & the staff. Rooms were small but well appointed.

Review 6:The bathtub and sink would fill up with water so fast. No free wifi.

Review 7:Close to the mall and convenient. It was clean and the lighting in the bathroom was nice.

Review 8:We stayed there for a family members hospital surgical visit, I worked nights and got to the hotel at 7am, housekeeping decides it's acceptable to bang on the door at 10,10am when I was still trying to catch the few hours of sleep i could before check out and work again, not cool.

Review 9:unfriendly staff (not all of them, but still) cold room with leaky windows strange air conditioning system which blow air just exactly towards one of beds suspect neighbourhood (including homeless and hookers lounging through the lobby)

Review 10:close to city centre clean bathroom with big shower

Review 11:There is no parking lot next to it . There is one one the other side of the street and is under ground there is no elevator soo we have to care all our logge 2 floor . They to 250$ for deposit that is too much .

Review 12:is 2 min of the eaton centre .

Review 13:Room was alot smaller then it appears in pictures. Parking was pricy, not onsite(across street) and a bit confusing. Not related directly to hotel but the manager at the hotel restaurant was incredibaly rude to two different customers with no regard to how uncomfortable it made the rest of us sitting down.

Review 14:Location was great Room was clean Staff was helpful Onsite gym

Review 15:It would be nice to have WiFi offered to all guests for free, it is kind of a standard thing in most developped nations.

Review 16:Fantastic front desk staff; we had some confusion about the type of room we booked, but he made it up to us by offering us free wifi and a late checkout. Very friendly staff overall, location is great. Really simple easy hotel in the middle of town, would highly recommend to anyone

Review 17:Sliding bathroom door was VERY heavy, which wouldn't have been a problem if it had a proper handle. The only "handle" was a small metal cap on a little hole in the door, but the edges were hard and difficult to slide. Shared a twin room with a friend, so privacy was key, but hard to achieve. Not a deal breaker, however.

Review 18:Perfect location, so close to Eaton Centre! Staff was friendly and helpful. Only stayed one night but beds were comfortable and room was nice. View wasn't great, but some of the city was seen. Lobby was beautiful and clean, and there were many restaurants and shops within walking distance, excluding the Eaton Centre. All in all, fantastic stay, will definitely stay again.

Review 19:Crack heads outside kepy us up all night

Review 20:The hotel itself is pretty average. We were on the lower floors and he crack heads outside kept us up most of the night.

Review 21:Noisy throughout night ! .......couple of rowdy visitors were running around and banging doors.Poor security. Inoperable elevators.Generally a second rate establishment in a very busy central area ! Parking expensive, use City Pkg.instead

Review 22:Location. Price. You get what you pay for, rooms newly renovated.Staff (young) friendly and courteous !

Review 23:Room was on the small side, a shower mat should come in the room (very slippery shower floor)

Review 24:Fantastic location, comfortable room, very clean and modern

Review 25:The heater would blow cool air when it reached the set temperature, which blew on the bed. Either hot or cold throughout the night

Review 26:The staff was awesome. Very knowledgeable

Review 27:i would have liked the pillows to be softer and more of them.

Review 28:The location was excellent; close to shopping and restaurants.beds were super comfortable!!

Review 29:I was having a procedure the nexy day at St. MICHAEL'S hospital and could not take advantage of the discounted rate because of November 11th.

Review 30:Location

Review 31:One of the staff I spoke to on the phone was very short and not all that accommodating. Breakfast was not included. More pillows were not offered.

Review 32:Deep bath tub, location was right next to the Eaton Centre Downtown, beds were very comfortable, staff accommodated for a late check out, breakfast was delicious, gym, great price.

Review 33:Lobby area is a little sketchy, and elevator cards didn't seem to work for others. Parking is across the street.

Review 34:Great locations, rooms were modern and well appointed (but small), but a steal at the price!

Review 35:Charging for WiFi rather chintzy. Automatically adding a tip in the restaurant not appreciated. Found the mattress way too firm.

Review 36:The area was perfect. Rooms cleaned and made up in record time. Front desk quite helpful.

Review 37:First room was unacceptable Transferred to a better room with no extra charge but I had negotiate with them to get it.

Review 38:Within walking distance of many things we wanted to visit. Quiet hotel Staff quickly available for help.

Review 39:The room was very small. You couldn't pass another person in the room. The toilet in the bathroom is very low. No grab bars in the bathroom For the price we paid for the room I was not happy with what we stayed in.

Review 40:Location and staff were very nice

Review 41:everything was good but the bathtub was not really good, water not going down really hard to take a shower at that time other is nice and good.

Review 42:nice and clean also really quite and perfect location near down town eaton centre.

Review 43:staff weren't polite, a toonie got stuck in the vending machine and i didnt get my money back. the hotel is not easy to locate from the front.

Review 44:room was comfy

Review 45:The air conditioner was directly beside the bed and hit whoever was on that side of the bed. Very uncomfortable. Plus when the air came through, it had a musty smell. The shower was also created weird where is had no closing so the floor got wet.

Review 46:The place has been updated since I was here 5 years ago. Very modern and mature. The bed was clean and comfortable and bathroom facilities were clean. The staff at check in/out were friendly and speedy. A grest location and very affordable.

Review 47:The staff are very friendly here and the person giving information around tours in the foyer is excellent. The location, just a stones throw from the eaton centre is fabulous.

Review 48:as a credit card is mandatory the $250 mandatory security deposit charged to the card is annnoying and not required-in reality for a one nite stay how are you going to use up this kind of money??

Review 49:the front desk staff were efficient and friendly, the room was plain, but very clean, had all the amenities-one of the cleanest bathrooms i have seen in a hotel-well stocked with towels basic toiletries, non smoking and no hint of room having ben smoked in-elevators required room key to go up-good security

Review 50:had to pay for wifi most hotels and even motels this is free. the parking lot was across the street and hard to find. We got stuck in the lift and were going up and down for about 10-15 mins had to press the alarm. This is a old hotel thats been retro fitted to look new. it didnt work.

Review 51:good location down town.

Review 52:My daughter and I stayed at the Bond Place Hotel the night before an early morning appt. at St. Michaels Hospital. Excellent location, only 3-4 min walk to hospital. It was clean, very modern, reasonably priced and exactly what we needed. It was also very close to the Eatons Center. Would stay here again for sure.

Review 53:I've been charged extra fees and double security deposits (that has both been refund in the end). No staff could explain to me what happened and why they took a second deposit on my card. Luckily the manager started his shift 15 minutes later. But I was still charged extra taxes that no one could explain to me.

Review 54:Elevator was a little iffy, sometimes worked sometimes not. The sliding barn door to the bathroom was heavy and stiff and hard to move.

Review 55:Very handy to the Eaton's Centre, subway , central downtown area. Bed was very comfortable and the slanting back to the tub was great for reading.

Review 56:Internet was not free. Senior rate didn't apply as hotel was sold out - so sometimes there is a senior rate, sometimes not. free breakfast did not include refill of coffee. Rye bread at breakfast was extra. Rooms not well insulated.

Review 57:Location.

Review 58:Our room (1318) had no drawers for storage... not sure if this is the same in every room !!! Sliding door for toilet was very noisy... Very small seating area in reception...

Review 59:Location for exploring the sites.... Cost for stay.. Staff helpful....

Review 60:Beds very hard & not comfortable, on arrival only 1 very small soft pillow each provided. Towels very small & only 1 bath towel each, hand towels way too small for wrapping around wet hair. Very noisy location & windows appear to be single glazed.

Review 61:Housekeeping staff very nice & efficient. Walking distance to all major attractions.

Review 62:Charge for internet, Location can be a bit dogey at night, No breakfast, Not a big choice in the restaurant onsite

Review 63:Room was decent size and very clean Would return to this hotel

Review 64:Elevator access room key system needs a better in elevator explanation of how to works, most people struggle. Minimal desk staffing makes for longer waits.

Review 65:Central city location a European style hotel.

Review 66:It's not bad but I just thought it was weird that my bed didn't have a fitted sheet only flat sheets

Review 67:The location was great and the building was secure which was important to me

Review 68:Grossly overpriced for what you get. Bare bones room, no free wifi and no breakfast for an exorbitant price for a single night stay. Definitely will not go back. There are much better hotels at this price point.

Review 69:The room was nice but rather small for the cost.

Review 70:The hotel is in a great location for all the main attractions, good easy driving to/ from the Express way and or Parkway. Easy walking dixtance to Down Town, Old Town, Entertainment District, its in the heart of the city. Toronto coach terminal just a few blocks away. Just a few minutes walk to the tube station and a couple of stops from The Waterfront.

Review 71:Not value for money . The price did not include internet Wi-fi, or breakfast . The room was small and not very clean. There is no double glazing so you can hear the noise from the streets.

Review 72:The location was excellent

Review 73:We had issues with the fire alarm sounding MULTIPLE times when a shower was taken (Went off 8 times for the one night we were there). Internet is not included in fee

Review 74:The staff were pleasant, location was good and the room was clean.

Review 75:Front desk hung up on me when I asked a question. Ridiculous $180 hold which is still active 4 days after checking out. This has cost me $90 in over draft fees. Bed was hard as a rock and bath tub didn't work.

Review 76:I liked the location

Review 77:Extra $$ for internet, missing coffee cup and no decaf coffee, no grab bars in tub, no hair conditioner, towels threadbare and thin

Review 78:Clean room, close to our function, nice bathroom

Review 79:The room was to small bathroom door didn't work properly a d it was to expensive for that room drop price like 10% oh and no cream or milk in the minI fridge for coffee

Review 80:Thelocation

Review 81:Expensive without much more comfort, WLan etc. extra charge unbelievable for this price

Review 82:Location downtown city center near Hardrock cafe/Sub (100 m) etc. unbeatable, fac. good

Review 83:Several episodes of LOUD vibrating pipes. Room a little Spartan - desk was just a ledge. Wifi cost $8.95/24 hrs

Review 84:Very clean Excellent air conditioning Central location - close to subway and shopping

Review 85:Could do with more hooks/ towel rail in bathroom. Staff very busy at reception desk thefore one has to stand in line for a long time to check in or out / any services. Can be loud in the evenings from busy street/ Dundas area.

Review 86:We wished there was more choice at breakfast.

Review 87:The location for us was ideal..we love Dundas Square..and especially the Buskers weekend..It's a nice walk down towards the CN tower area.

Review 88:$250 deposit for breakage etc. suggests questionable clients. Shower wasnot good and faucet came away from wall. Reported to front desk whosuggested change of room. Restaurant not up to toronto standards. Givenroom in back of hotel-no view

Review 89:The convenience to shopping and toronto transit, subway etc. this is thethird time I have stayed at this hotel.

Review 90:the rooms were very small the price did not reflect the quality of the hotel two twin beds in the room are standard additional charge for wi fi

Review 91:the location

Review 92:The staff at the front desk are quite unfriendly and unhelpful. I would also warn that they don't include the 13% tax in their room rate (leading to seeming cheaper on booking.com than other hotels who do include the tax) so be prepared to be horrified when you get the bill. The other hotels we stayed in on our trip to Canada all included the 13% tax (but not the 3% 'destination fee') in their room rate so unfortunately for us we mistakenly assumed the same of this hotel. When trying to figure this out at the desk, the staff were extremely unhelpful and quite rude. I also think it's ridiculous to pay extra for wifi, if you want to charge for it just work it into the room rate so people don't feel even more like they're getting ripped off. Particularly when every coffee shop, mall, restaurant, you name it gives you wifi for free.

Review 93:The location was good, and the rooms were clean and comfortable.

Review 94:The rooms are very expensive in comparison to the extremely small size of the rooms. At US$275.00 per night, I found the hotel to be very pricey for what was received.

Review 95:Good location, convenient to Yonge Street Subway station and Dundas streetcar line.

Review 96:Some clientele was questionable Key card to room didn't work a few times Price was increased due to TIFF but room was not worth the inflated $ No comfortable seating in room

Review 97:Central location Security on elevators Clean room Friendly staff

Review 98:There seem to be a sent of moth ball odor when first walked into the room but quickly unnoticeable after a few seconds.

Review 99:Room had nice view of the city, room felt clean with nice simple decor.

Review 100:Skimpy towels. Bathroom door was sliding that was heavy and stiff but did not seal. Air conditioner was right next to bed.

Review 101:Beds were comfortable. Shower was good.

Review 102:Hotel had its own exchange rate for USD to CAD (they tax about ¢15 or 15% of every dollar!)

Review 103:Alot of stuff going on around the hotel, close to restaurants, shopping, and bars/clubs.

Review 104:A lot, the internet was unstabled. Always cutting out. The beds were very hard and not easy to sleep on. I asked for ground floor or close to it I end up almost at the top. Thanks! Also the parking fees were insane. Very costly and not easy to get to car in the early morning hours. The was friendly for the most part. I ended up leaving a day early because I could not stay at that place another minute. Found another hotel down the street with free parking and wifi. I don't recommend this place at all.

Review 105:The location is amazing right near most areas you need to get too. The food is amazing in the area and people are nice.

Review 106:low comfort for high price, WIFI & breakfast cost extra; friendly welcome is unknown; noisy inside;

Review 107:Hotel is located centrally, most highlights nearby; good connections to transportations;

Review 108:Like all pricier hotels, everything extra from wifi to breakfast to parking is extra--but that's to be expected. Clearer signs or instructions on how to find the parking before ending up in traffic and unable to turn as needed downtown would be awesome.

Review 109:The hotel location was amazing--very central in Toronto and there was parking nearby. Despite a festival on nearby Yonge St, the room was very quiet.

Review 110:Awfully terrible unprofessional impolite front office staff !!!

Review 111:Location close to Yonge-Dundas Square, room size very small, internet poor quality, price not good for value.

Review 112:Staff not friendly. Parking was terrible (full and across the street ). Hotel beds were terrible (my husband and I rolled into each other due to the indent in the middle )

Review 113:Downtown location

Review 114:In our room the AirConditioner immediately went next to the headboard. We had to draw back the bed to be more comfortable or the head of those who stay in that side would freeze.

Review 115:Location and practility

Review 116:We thought that for your money this hotel was excellent value. It is a short easy subway ride from Union Station where you can connect with VIA Rail and the UP train to the airport. It was in the center of town within easy walking of stores, restaurants and PATH. The room was small but clean, comfortable and modern.

Review 117:The beds were terrible and the heating fan blew on my face during the night. The WiFi did not work and they could not fix it. There were no electic plugs at the head of the bead for my CPAP machine and we had to get an extension cord to run to the other side of the room. There was only a 20 watt bulb in the bathroom.

Review 118:As above

Review 119:I was not impressed with the area the hotel was in. The area felt unsafe to me. For this reason would not stay again. The hotel is nice, good food at the restaurant but room small and I felt not good value for money

Review 120:Air conditioner positioning. Blows directly onto one bed so couldn't leave it on if you wanted to, once in bed.

Review 121:Reasonable price, good base to explore Toronto, very clean.

Review 122:The a/c needed to be on every night but it was noisy and annoying to have cold air blowing immediately beside us all night. The mini fridge froze all the fresh fruit we bought. The hotel should not be charging extra for wifi - it should be included in the cost of the room. Thankfully there was an isdue part way through our stay and wifi was free for a few days because of the glitch.

Review 123:The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was cleaned well each day and we never had to call housekeeping for any shorted amenities - which is rare these days.

Review 124:I cannot remember anything in particular but since staying at this hotel I have travelled all across America with a tour, staying in numerous other hotels and only returned home two days ago.

Review 125:The location was excellent and I very much appreciated how helpful the staff were when I had to make an extremely late alteration to my stay owing to last minute change of plans by my relations in Toronto.

Review 126:Paying for WiFi

Review 127:Concierge Dona, location We come every 5 years to celebrate our marriage. We honeymooned here 35 years ago! A very special place for us.

Review 128:The rooms were a bit dusty, but otherwise fine.

Review 129:It's just around the corner from Dundas Square where it's all happening! All the great stores, The Eton Centre and the best food outlets are so close. What's not to like!

Review 130:uncomfortable, short bed. I'm 5'5". air conditioner was 8 in. from side of bed and blasted me all night. T.V. didn't work and front office didn't answer phone. Ultra small room.

Review 131:location, restaurant

Review 132:the elevator were pretty slow and scary, sometimes the doors wouldn't open, the bathtub is very short (I'm 5'9 and I couldn't even stretch my legs out (I'm 5'9) The paid wifi is a bit of an issue, if I'm paying 300 dollars for a room (not including deposit) I think it should be included.

Review 133:Well for starters the staff were exceptionally friendly, check in was easy and smooth and went well. We then went to our room and were so impressed, we went with the deluxe room and it was amazing. Beds are the comfiest thing I've slept on and the room is spacious. The location is amazing, close to a lot of stores and you must try the pub across the street! (Our room came with a coupon!!) Overall; I'd recommend this hotel and will stay in the future.

Review 134:Destination marketing program fee was represented as a city of Toronto tax that we had to pay. When we objected the charge was removed. This fee should be clearly pointed out to clients As an optional charge and the city of Toronto should not be represented as taxing guests to their city.

Review 135:I was surprised by paid WiFi. Sure, it is listed but somehow missed it. And it was slow and required separate access codes for each device (even if some personnel said otherwise). Air conditioning unit is right next to bed (I was single in twin room) which could be very unhealthy to person sleeping in it. There was some equipment to make tea/coffee but I did not managed to get water boiled with it.

Review 136:Location is good - right next to metro and PATH.

Review 137:My bed was not firm and wobbled, thus ending up with lower back and neck pain. Towels are coarse, feels like sand paper. A couple of long hairs under my covers, and apparently housekeeping means making the bed and at times emptying the bins; no sweeping or mopping. Do not impress yourself upon the pictures in their website.

Review 138:Location is fantastic, just a block away from Eaton Centre and Dundas Square. For a day or two eating breakfast on site is quite good, after that I suggest going somewhere else as it's a short menu and expensive (e.g., no coffee refills). If possible, upgrade to business room with paid internet. They won't give you the access codes until you ask them for, though. Stay away from 1802, its bed is lousy.

Review 139:Parking was unorganized. I had to leave my keys with garage because there was no parking available. I had to return later to get the keys

Review 140:Loved the location
