Reviews for Wellness Hotel Kölchens
Review 1:I made a triple room reservation through booking.com. We are a family of 4. I request a crib in the room for my one year old. I have been traveling a lot and thats what we do when there's availability at the hotel. When I arrived they had sold the triple room I booked and gave me two small and old rooms instead and we had to split the family. This hotel has an old part and the rooms we had were there. An unpleasant surprise, the rooms were in the old part of the hotel, looking at the interior and not remodeled...lots of bright light early in the morning because it has no sunblock courtains. The hotel was completely booked and they sold the room I booked without a call before. Very frustrating. The front desk lady apologize. I have to stay and pay two rooms that I didn't want or I didn't booked..not a good experience.
Review 2:Not secure for the suite, each room was secure (not good for younger children). Aged decor.
Review 3:Plenty of space within the room. (Suite for a family). Good food, staff helpful, useful tourist information including local walks.
Review 4:Not really bad, but the hotel is high up on the Kues plateau: it is a long and very complicated winding walk from the hotel to Kues itself, so be aware of that if you want to go to the town. Also the dinner menu is a bit limited.
Review 5:Quiet and comfortable. Very pleasant and thoughtful staff. I am coeliac and although they didn't have gluten free bread the first evening, they remembered and brought it to me at breakfast time.
Review 6:Access road, very steep and winding. Limited menu for evening meal.
Review 7:Staff were very helpful. Although there was no trolley to transport heavy luggage, the staff did it for us.
Review 8:What is not to like !!?
Review 9:Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Very nice room, spacious, nice bath. Spa facilities in the hotel Walking distance to the town
Review 10:Not a negative for us, but if you think you are in the valley in Bernkastel, you will be disappointed. This beautiful place is in the hills, away from the hectic crowds.
Review 11:Food, surroundings, decor, like a luxurious spa weekend
Review 12:No coffee or tea making facilities in the room
Review 13:Overall excellent: room, staff, bath, sauna, restaurant, location
Review 14:bed was not really comfortable
Review 15:everything very clean, including the wellness facilities
Review 16:wifi connection .
Review 17:The location.The spa.
Review 18:A beautiful hotel with friendly staff, well appointed room, clean with good facilities. The buffet breakfast also had an excellent choice.
Review 19:Really friendly staff. We felt truly welcome.
Review 20:Great room, friendly and helpful staff. Hands down best hotel breakfast ever. Make sure you plan to utilize the extensive walking trails adjacent.
Review 21:The sofa bed was not comfortable for adults, probably would have been ok for the kids!
Review 22:Lovely friendly hotel with great family accommodation.
Review 23:A little further from downtown Bernkastel then expected, but the friendly staff made up for it.
Review 24:Great staff. Offered to drive us down to the fest when we couldn't get a taxi.
Review 25:Friendliness of staff, nothing was to much trouble and as we do not speak German the fact that they speak fluent English helpfull. Clean and spacious room. Good food at reasonable price. This was probably the best hotel that we stayed during our tour which included 6 hotels. We allways find that German hotels are clean and that the food good and affordable. Keith
Review 26:Can think of nothing to dislike.
Review 27:We stayed here for the last two nights of a longer trip to Germany and are very glad that we did. The hotel is located in a quiet location about five minutes drive from the centre of Bernkastel-Kues on the Kues side of the Moselle. We were made very welcome on our arrival and informed of the times that breakfast and evening meal were served. Breakfast was a substantial mixture of cereals, cold meats and cheeses plus cooked items such as scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages. We were given a menu in English for our evening meal without any prompting and this contained a good variety of excellently cooked and presented meals. There was also a good choice of wines , beers and other drinks. All at reasonable prices. The hotel also has an outside terrace cafe area serving a good selection of snacks and ice creams etc. The room we had was furnished in a modern style and was spotlessly clean. The staff all appeared to speak very good English and were always helpful. Would definitely book this hotel again if travelling this way.
Review 28:Everything was perfect, no negative points.
Review 29:Very nice hotel with the room and all other places very clean. Veryfriendly services and excellent breakfast buffet. It is superb.
Review 30:Bed not over comfortable but we find that in most hotels we stay in probably our old backs !
Review 31:We were made to feel very welcome and the language was not a problem. It would have been nice if the room had at least a kettle, maybe that is us being British. The staff however were very obliging when we asked for some hot water each evening to make our own tea as we were prepared with English t bags .
Review 32:Location is on a hill away from Bernkastel - a 5 minute drive away.Appeared to be set in a complex of clinics/hospital sites. Providing youhave sat nav though, ok for a one night b & b stop. Our restaurant experience was not so good. Ordered steaks and clearly went from freezer to microwave with a minute in the frying pan to add colour. They were vile!!! Wine came to table with bottle already opened and suspect came from the tap of a cheap bulk supply in a recycled bottle. Worst dining experience I recall which is probably why the only people using the restaurant.
Review 33:Well furnished, spotless room with good public areas. Free Wi Fi. Greatchoice and quality of food at breakfast. Quiet location and we had avery good overnight stop in respect of sleep.
Review 34:Location, room not adequately cleaned
Review 35:Hotel very nice & modern. Staff very helpful & friendly. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the road & houses, not ideal. Not within walking distance of Bernkastel so limited in the evenings for eating etc.
Review 36:I liked the location as it was quiet in the evening and very close to the rehabilitation clinic where my wife is resident. The room was large, bright and modern with excellent ablutions.
Review 37:quiet location, proximity to Bernkastel, great breakfast and dinner

Review 39:- the breakfast was very nice - overall very content with the hotel
