Reviews for Jakober Hof
Review 1:Wi-Fi was not working. Looks like they were doing an upgrade but the router in the hall was not connected to the internet. Short term problem for sure. Limited parking (5 Euro per night) so get there early if you are driving.
Review 2:We have stayed here before. Always good to come back here. On the tram line but easy walk into the central part of the city and the Christmas Market. Comfortable rooms and a great breakfast.
Review 3:A nice spacious room with a tub, which was good for a relaxing soak to warm up on a cold day. Good location opposite the Fuggerei, and only about five minutes to the city centre.
Review 4:Nothing
Review 5:The kiendness of the staff - The good quality of the very good beeding - The good location close to the city center and the public transportation - The breakfast is good.
Review 6:The hotel had no ambiance and was dated. When we pulled up we felt skeptical about staying there. Our room was not in the building pictured, but an adjacent building - and the door to that building was not locked. It was fine, but if I were by myself, I would have been more uncomfortable.
Review 7:It was clean - even the bathroom. Pretty spotless. Although a bit further from town than I had imagined during the booking process, it was still walkable.
Review 8:Entree of house next to hotel could be much better. No lift to second floor. Noisy because of tram and traffic.
Review 9:The bedroom and bathroom were nice and clean.
Review 10:Too hot for a lack of air conditioning and nothing to cool drinks etc. The shower room also stayed very hot.
Review 11:the hotel was excellent value for money for the location - right by the fuggerai and its tram stop.
Review 12:I have had no bad experience whatsoever.
Review 13:The location of this hotel is great! Beds are comfortable, breakfast is rich and wi-fi is fast. Personnel is very kind and helpful.
Review 14:other reviews have commented on no air-cont, which their isn't. But it's not typical for a small hotel to have air-con in 'northern' Europe and this 40degree celsius summer is very unusually. There were some drunken people singing during the night, but not so bad; they did not stand outside the hotel.
Review 15:The hotel is in a good location, just 5 mins from the main sq; it also means that most sites can be seen without the need for public transport. I had to extend my stay by 1 night and the owner was very helpful and rearranged the rooms so that I could stay in the same room; the owner is very helpful and welcoming. Wifi connection was good and the bathroom spotlessly clean.
Review 16:No aircondition. A lot of noise from the street. Lots of drunk people shouting in the streets all night long. Dont go here on a friday or saturday.
Review 17:Great place for stopover. Nice city, good restaurants. Room is good. Nice breakfast.
Review 18:We arrived during a heat wave and had to sleep with the windows open to cool the room. As a result, our sleep was disrupted by street noise.
Review 19:The hotel was a short walk to most of central Augsburg with the historic social housing complex just across the street. Everything was nearby.
Review 20:The WiFi was shoddy, the bed was uncomfortable, and it could be hard to sleep, given that for some reason locals like to drink in the hotel courtyard and make a lot of noise. The staff never once tried to disperse them.
Review 21:It was close to everything. The breakfast spread was pretty good. Fine for a short stay.
Review 22:Parking can be difficult if arriving late.
Review 23:The staff was helpful, especially with regards to helping us with a very late arrival. The hotel is convenient to the city center - just a five minute walk.
Review 24:The directions (and information regarding tramlines) on the booking.com website and app is incorrect, and that made things very difficult.
Review 25:The beautiful location, right next to the church
Review 26:Internet always has to be logged into and it's quite slow (but included) Weird design with lights over bed makes it impossible to sit up in bed
Review 27:Location Credit cards accepted Breakfast is €5 but convenient and worth it Beds comfortable Friendly, chatty desk clerk Clean bathroom with good shower Tv in bathroom
Review 28:Noise from tram would be annoying in Summer with window open.
Review 29:Hotel was more than adequate. Room was spacious over looking the street. Off street parking. 10 minute walk to main square, Christmas markets, etc Good breakfast.
Review 30:Noise from traffic throughout the night when windows open. Room isseparate from main building but only metres apart. Steps to room. Nolift for those who need it. No tea/coffee making facilities. Foundit difficult to find anywhere to eat in town after 2230.
Review 31:Good breakfast for 5 euros per person. Location walking distanceto centre. Excellent wifi. Parking free. Excellent late nightarrival greeting.
Review 32:Internet was spotty, had to go in stairway to get signal. The building echoed quite loudly- doors opening closing, people going up and down stairs - might be a problem for light sleepers.
Review 33:Hotel was a short walk to center of Augsburg, shops, restaurants, etc. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms are simple and clean, plenty of space to hang clothes and store suitcases for 3 people. Bathrooms were very, very nice. Great value.
Review 34:Could not get wifi to work in our room. Front desk said there should bea few options, but none were showing up.We felt a little uncomfortable walking to find a restaurant. It was not the best neighborhood to be walking in, and we had to walk all the way to the city square to find something open. Not as clean as you expect a hotel room to be. Staff was helpful, but not really "friendly."
Review 35:Nothing, really. Oh, except the breakfast, which was good, for 5 Eur.
Review 36:- a bit noisy early mornings because of trams - no electric kettle and no fridge in the room, which I think is standard at this price level - very unstable and slow internet connection - wide range of foods but of average quality for breakfast - unprofessional reception staff who could smile very well at the guests but who had difficulty producing a correct payment document for me, one of them was even being rude to me, moreover, one of the staff blocked the amount paid for accommodation on my arrival and did not tell the others so another receptionist was trying to make me pay the huge amount again, which was not possible until I raised the safety limit on my card, the original sum remained blocked on my account almost one week after I paid and when I drew their attention to it, they just laughed and I did not hear a word of apology, fortunately, the blocking was later cancelled
Review 37:the rooms were always clean and tidy, the cleaners were very helpful
Review 38:No internet in room, but that's the only thing I can find to say that wasn't spot on!! A great place, can definitely recommend it to others.
Review 39:About 20 to 25 minutes walk from the station through the pedestrianised centre of Augsburg, the Jakoberhof is almost exactly opposite the Fuggereistube. We had what you could almost call an apartment on the 2nd floor. It had everything we needed, incl a very good, powerful hot shower. Everything nice and clean, spacious, even a hairdryer and toiletries. But the breakfast was the best bit, with boiled eggs as well as cereals, fruit, toast, Brötchen (German breakfast rolls), yoghurt, cheeses, hams... Excellent value for money.
Review 40:The location is near to the centre but a little fat to the train station.
Review 41:The service was good. I forgot my ipad at the reception desk. They kindly saved it for me and gave me a phone call to ask me to take it back.
Review 42:I found the staff to be unhelpful and the hotel to be somewhat dingy. The location was acceptable, but they should not be advertising this location as having parking. It was simply a disaster. Likewise, the wifi didn't work and the walls were like paper. I think you could find better accommodations for the price charged.
Review 43:the Wi-fi was slow at times. It was difficult to sleep due to the trams and loud pedestrians passing.
Review 44:Great location next to a tram stop. Friendly staff. Good position to walk in or out of the main town area. Breakfast was well worth the 5 euro as there was a good variety of food and it set us up well for the day.
Review 45:A lot of stairs to carry our suitcases up, especially as we were on the 3rd floor. Kitchenette but could have been better equipped. Bathroom towels rather threadbare and thin but useable for 1 night. Tram noise outside woke us up early at 4:30, though number of trams (on our side of the hotel at least) were limited to about 1 every 30 minutes (in the early hours at least).
Review 46:Decent location - VERY convenient (across the street) for the The Fuggerei and only a short walk into the old town. Friendly reception. Parking a little tight but just enough if you park correctly! Fairly basic furnishing, design & feel but very clean & a spacious room. Small kitchenette with fridge which was useful.
Review 47:4th floor room - stairs were a bit difficult to climb. Streetcar noise at night.
Review 48:Good central location & near downtown attractions. Helpful & friendly staff.
Review 49:Terrible wet mold smell on the corridor when entering the second hotel building. Not available wi-fi due to extremely weak signal. A problem with accepting Master Cards.
Review 50:Clean and comfortable rooms. Good deal for the price. Free parking.
Review 51:They were a little short on staff. One person trying to take care of multiple foreign customers from different countries and run the breakfast at the same time.
Review 52:We had a late arrival and staff was waiting for us and very helpful.
Review 53:TV is so small, it's an old style, because it's FIFA period.
Review 54:Spacious room with big and comfortable bed. Clean bathroom. Walking distance to the center. Supermarket nearby. Free parkiing but not so many spaces, we arrive late and the owner moved her car so that we could park. Thank you.
Review 55:Great staff. Very friendly and extremely helpful.
Review 56:Non smoking room was really over-smoked one. No breakfast was offered.

Review 106:I didn't like the area the hotel was in. Was a bit disappointed, not much food options nearby
Review 107:Location
Review 108:Noise from the street. Breakfast is quite poor. No elevator
Review 109:Located near the city center. Spacious clean room. Friendly staff
Review 110:Nice staff, nice room, nice sleep, good internet connection.
Review 111:My credit card was debited in advance, but I had to pay the price in cash as well. So now I paid the price twice. It's scandalous !
Review 112:wifi is pretty bad.
Review 113:Close to tram station.
Review 114:Internet connection is not possible, parking too expencive, traffic very loud.
Review 115:Excellent positin
Review 116:bathroom needs renovation TV did not work properly
Review 117:location
Review 118:In room 34 the Wi-Fi only works in the toilet. Happy surfing. :) This may be the case for all rooms facing Jakober Street. So ask for a room closer to an access point if this is important for you. We only had smartphones, so your experience may be better with a Thinkpad.
Review 119:Nice place, with enough distance from the main street to allow for a good nights sleep, but close enough for an evening walk through the town.
Review 120:Room was on 3rd floor, without a lift! Apart from dated room/furniture, it wasn't really that clean. Staff at reception and breakfast clearly didn't give a toss. Breakfast was bad in terms of choices, but also quality.
Review 121:managed to get a parking space on premises - by luck.
Review 122:No tea making facilitys. Australians & new zealanders always enjoy acuppa in the morning, in their room. Not everybody drinks coffee. Thisis the biggest annoyance with hotels in Europe.
Review 123:Very clean and comfortable value for money.
Review 124:We had no dislikes.
Review 125:We have stayed at this hotel on three trips, and have always enjoyed the accommodations, staff, and location. It is within walking distance of the entire downtown area, as well as the Galerie, a very nice, modern shopping center. On this trip we also experienced the Street Market, with many vendors, which takes place only twice a year.
